Gentleman and a Van

A friend of mine had used Gentleman and a Van and had reccommended them to me (although they are London based they also do Surrey moves too which is where we were moving from) and I'm so glad she did. I found Gentleman and a van to be extremely professional and helpful and gave us great advice on moving and how to make the process easier and less stressful which we really appreciated as we have children and a cat and dog so we were not looking forward to the upheaval. We were moving from one town in Surrey to another. First our house was packed by two gentlemen who were extremely polite and friendly and very hard working. They had all the necessary equipment to ensure all our things were safe and well packed. Time and care was taken over packing everything and nothing was damaged or marked when we unpacked in our new house. They were also very methodical when it came to the packing and kept everything together which should have been together and labelled the boxes really well (they even put stars on the boxes they thought we would need straight away which was very helpful). We moved the day after the packing was done (they packed all last minute things for us on the morning of the move). Three vans and four men arrived promptly and all our things were loaded very carefully onto their vans and if necessary covered with blankets to protect them. We moved out of our house at about 12.30pm and the gentlemen and vans were waiting outside our new house for us to get the keys. By 3pm we got our keys and before any unpacking was done the removers asked us to take them around the house and tell them which room was going to be what so they knew exactly which room to put the boxes and items of furniture in. Everything was unloaded carefully and put into the right room ready for us to unpack. It was amazing, I was expecting the whole move to be really stressful but it went like a dream and it was all down to the professionalism and hard work of the gentlemen who helped us. I can't recommend them more highly very reasonably priced, hard working professional company.

By far the best removals company I have ever used. Highly recommended and incredible value for the service provided. I have used Gentleman & A Van three times (both home and office removals (x2)) and they've exceeded our expectations every time. Helpful, friendly team both in the office and on the ground. Look no further if you want the best!! The latest move was a large office move, handled quickly and carefully - we had a mere 6 hours of down time.  It was excellently done in quite tricky office premises.  They are the best!

After reading many wonderful reviews, we contracted with Gentleman and a Van to pack and move our belongings for international shipment, store our items for several months in their storage facility, and then prepare them for international pick up. Now we know why they are rated so highly! Our experience was a pleasure from beginning to end: over-the-top customer service; workmen who were fast, competent, and professional; exceptional price; and a job that was done and dusted in less time than quoted. This move was actually pleasant and hassle free because of the service provided through GAAV. If you are looking for the easiest move of your life at an excellent price point, look no further than this 5 star company.

I used Gentleman & A Van to move my house from London to Farnham last week. This is the fifth move I have made in as many years and the service was quite simply magnificent!
This company is head and shoulders above its competition.
I met one of the owners of the business, who was very impressive and he gave me an extremely competitive quote.
The team then arrived the day before my move to pack. Everything was wrapped beautifully and the men were all polite and good humoured. On the move day, everything was loaded by 11am and we are down in Farnham by 12.30pm, just in time for our completion. The team then proceeded to unload everything in double quick time, unwrapping and reassembling all our furniture. Nothing got broken and they even offered to hoover the sitting room before they left.
It was a very hot day but noone complained and the move was carried out in high spirits by a super group of guys, expertly led by Dan.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone, the service was faultless from start to finish and great value to. Well done Gentleman & A Van!

Brilliant service - the 2 removal guys doing my move were curteous, friendly and incredibly efficient. They were completely professional and I was quite surprised by them considering the amount of removals companies I have dealt with over the years. They wasted no time in moving everything and didn't stop at all. They cared about my things and were really tidy and checked where I wanted everything at the other end. Although they were late, they called me in plenty time to let me know this and the reason was valid. I can't fault them and I will certainly be using them for all my future needs. A complete example of how removal companies should be. .

We saw Gentleman and a Van moving another company into our new office premises a few weeks before us and were very impressed with their manner and the way they handled the difficult entrance to this building and the stairs. We were not disappointed on the day of our move..3 very smart, very strong and very willing lads turned up and even though our office is on the 4th Floor up some very steep stairs and they were moving heavy office equipment, there was not a murmur of complaint..they were absolutely charming through out and I would recommend them to anyone.

As an interior designer, Ive worked with many moving companies.  Ive also moved personally three times in the last three years.  I can honestly say that this was by far the best company I have worked with.  From the sales team, to the moving crew, everyone was extremely friendly and professional.  On the day of the actual move, the movers went above and beyond to fit large furntiure into small spaces and moved pieces within the house when I changed my mind about the layout. I moved within London from a 2 bedroom mews house in Marylebone to a 2 bedroom house in Chelsea.  The team arrived on a Thursday, packed us up and moved out on Friday morning.  We had everything moved in by Friday at 6pm.   I would definitely use Gentleman and a Van again and would highly reccomend them for their exceptional service!!

Before my move, I asked 4 removal companies for a quote, did my research and although Gentleman & a Van were not the cheapest I chose them based on the professionalism that they had handled the process of coming over and preparing for the move.  As I was moving a one bedroom flat from SW3 to EC1 - I was told I needed 1 day for packing and 1 day for moving (the services I had hired them for).
Day 1 was packing day - the guys arrived a bit late but called in advanced and advised that they would be 15 min or so late.  They started bringing up the boxes to the flat - and as they started packing I started getting a bit concerned as they (1) starting throwing things that contained glass into boxes unwrapped (until I spoke up) and (2) weren't sure how to pack the glassware that we still had the original boxes for (I ended up packing them) .  I just figured I was too selfaware and tried to stay out of their way (to extent I could). Then promptly at 4 (even though about 40% of the flat was yet unpacked) they said they were leaving and would arrive next day for moving day. 
Day 2 - they arrived 30 min late (no phone call).  Then they proceeded to spend the next 5 hours packing (what they should have packed the day before).   About 3 hours in they decided that the van they had brought was not big enough so they called for a small van to come as well to assist with the move.  They finally managed to pack up the first van to leave for the new flat at 3 pm.  Fortunately my husband had taken the day off as well (otherwise I am not sure how we could have coped) because for the next 6 hours 2 vans had to make 2 runs each back and forth between SW3 and EC1 in order to deliver all of the furniture with him going to the new flat and me staying at the old flat waiting for the removal guys to return. Finally in order to make sure that they finished by 9;30 at night, my husband started helping them bringing up the boxes and furniture (at the new flat) while I started helping them bring down boxes and furniture at the old flat.
The amount of furniture and items we had could not have come as a surprise - that is why James (one of the owners) came to do an assessment and gave us a quote based on that assessment.  Why the company would send an inadequate sized van plus once requested a small truck plus 4 guys on removal day (and 3 guys who knocked off early on packing day) I will never know.  I will never recommend this company and will actively discourage anyone from using them. .

I moved with Gentleman & A Van from Battersea to Fulham at the beginning of September and I cannot tell you how impressed I was with this company.  I have moved a lot over the years but never have I had such a pleasurable and stree free experience as I had with Gentleman & A Van.
We met Mark, one of the Directors of the company, who came round to quote on our move.  He was charming and very thorough and professional and he also gave us the most competitive quote.  Out of the 4 companies that we had round, we were left in no doubt who we should use.
The team arrived bang on time the day before the move to pack our house.  The team leader was called Shaun, who was a lovely guy and made everything seem so effortless.  They packed and wrapped the house beautifully and even had the good sense to leave a couple of plates and cutlery for us to use that night.
They came back the following day to load up the vans and cleared everything in the house by 12.  They had everything unloaded in the new house by 4pm.  All the beds had been built, the 2 wardrobes put back togther.  They even very sensibly put our daughters cot onto the van last, so that it came off first and was built straight away, so that we could put her down for her 2 o'clock nap.
Two days later we rang their office to ask them to come and pick up the empty boxes, which they duly did later on that afternoon.  They even took some extra rubbish away.  Everything arrived in the same state as it left our house and nothing was broken.
I simply cannot recommend this company more highly.  They are exactly what they proclaim to be and next time I move I will not look anywhere else.  I have already started telling all my friends.  WELL DONE GENTLEMAN & A VAN!

This is the second time I've used Gentleman and a Van for my personal domestic removal. The first time was 6 years ago.

The first thing I'd like to mention is that they are an extremely nice company to deal with, the office staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They also helped to organise a self-storage unit for me so I didn't have to go to the trouble of booking that separately.

Gavin and Stefan, the two removal men who arrived to pack up my belongings, couldn't have been more professional, courteous and helpful with a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. They really helped to facilitate a stress-free home move, which was a joy after the stressful time I'd been through.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Gentleman and a Van again and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I contacted Gentleman & A Van because I knew they offered the very best moving service. There is no question on that and I had done my research.

From Charles/Mark in the office to the chaps moving my stuff everyone was helpful, friendly and professional.

On the day the two gentlemen called me to let me know their ETA and also when they arrived outside. They were very well presented, very friendly and efficient and simply got on with the job without question. They were both swift and very professional. The stress of moving was immediately taken away by their professional and relaxed approach.

The move consisted of a multitude of boxes and some furniture so not a large move but all done without fuss up two flights of stairs. This was all then taken to their own storage facility in Wandsworth.

Communication, price and attitude were all top notch and this company made my life and the move so much easier. Please avoid anyone offering 'cheap' rates to move your important items. Gentleman & A Van were a Good price and you get the quality.

Removal men do their job day in day out, but for the person moving it's a really big deal and this company treated their work with care, respect and importance. They did more than they should have (because we had no idea what to do in terms of packing) and were hardworking, polite at all times and professional.  Moving from a large 1st floor flat that you've spent a long time in is not an easy job and I'm sure there would be companies not fit to do this well but we found we didn't have to 'oversee' everything; we could let them get on with it.  The manager who visited our flat to evaluate the sort of service we would need, was spot on with his estimation.  The price was not the cheapest (wouldn't trust the cheaper companies) and not the most expensive, just reassuringly in the middle.  I like the fact that the manager said they pay their staff well therefore their men stay with them. .

Am super happy with the service Gentleman And a Van provided. The team on the day can only be described as super humans, their attention to detail was beyond my expectations. Super polite, clean, easy to talk to, courteous and above all friendly and engaging. They were a brilliant company to deal with from start (survey) to finish (including suspending the parking bay with the local borough) and all in all I couldn't be happier to recommend Gentleman and a Van to absolutely anyone. 10/10 service. .

A note of the highest praise for the Gentleman & a Van team! They were the upmost professionals from the start to the finish of our complicated move, storage, and disposal needs. James and team were always quick to respond to my emails and showed up promptly on both days of our move. They even came back for the boxes after we unpacked - such service!

The excellent team from Gentleman and a Van made our move this weekend as good a move as I can imagine a move being.  We had two men packing the house up on Friday, and then 5 men on Saturday with two vans, one brand new, both in excellent condition.  They had all the right equipment, packed our possessions beautifully in tissue and bubble wrap, LOTS of boxes including full wardrobe boxes, and took great care.  They could not have done enough, were unfailingly polite and helpful, and a pleasure to have around. We will definitely use the company again, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.
