I would highly recommend Handy Moves because I truly believe there are a great removal company. It’s quite funny really because in the build up to my moving day I had so much work to do, it took such a long time packing and suchlike. It seemed like I had a million boxes for all my CD’s and books and all the rest of it. Yet, when it came to moving day the removal men emptied my flat in such a quick time and without damaging anything I was truly amazed. I kind of wish I had hired the packing service now. Anyway, just to say this is a wonderful company you won’t regret hiring.

After looking through a few of these reviews, I must say that I find myself agreeing. After I hired Handy Moves to help me with a business move, I got a very similar experience to what is listed here. I believe that they arrive for almost all of their arrangements late. They were late for my appointment too, of course, and didn’t even give me an excuse. I requested an emergency call with the chief officer; Thank God he was a great man. 30 seconds after our conversation, he called the removal guys and I don’t know what exactly he told them, but they worked so quick that we arrived at my new premises earlier than expected.

The company were booked to move my elderly parents furniture two weeks ago. I confirmed the time and booking with them the day before.
On the day they were due at 09.00, they didn't turn up and no phone call to say they were delayed. I called them, they said they couldn't contact the driver and didn't know where he was. They said they will try to get someone else.
They didn't phone back. I called again after 30 minutes, they said they could not say whether they could attend and asked us to wait.
We couldn't do that as my parents had to move that day. I had to find another company to move them. Luckily I did.
Do not use this company, there are a number of reviews with similar stories.

Handy Moves are AMAZING!! The team of Robert and Lorant was simply flawless and we could not ask for better removals service than what we've received from them. Here is why we are happy to tell everyone about our amazing moving experience with this company that moved us from Kent to Devon, which was the biggest move we have undergone as a family. So you can imagine how stressful everything regarding our move was before getting in touch with Handy Moves.
Finding reliable removals provider was from the utmost importance not just for me but for the entire family. The entire move took two days period not just because of the big distance between our pick up and delivery addresses, but also because the work involved was very labour-consuming after all.
The first day was dedicated to carefully packing and sorting out all the boxes and furniture items to be transported, while the second day was for the removal itself, transporting and unpacking all of the items at the end.
The movers took great care of our possessions. They also packed and arranged everything in the moving van in a very ordinate manner, so all I say is that the guys named Robert and Lorant were a real pleasure to have around! They were so accommodating and helpful that nothing seemed to be much of a trouble for them.
On top of all that, I was also content with the great value for money they have provided me with.
So if someone asks me if I would recommend Handy Moves to anyone, I would wholeheartedly say YES, I would!

BEWARE OF SECTION 9 IN THE CONTRACT - states company will not take responsibility for all negligence by delivery men caused to the property. The delivery men dragged a sofa across my floor and caused me thousands in damage and Jennifer the manager looks for all avenues to avoid admitting negligence incuding falsifying statements on delivery drivers behalf ..you are better off going with a company with a more expensive quote and save yourself the stress of dealing with a company who have s lack of respect for their customers and a high labour turnover rate using multiple contractors who take longer on jobs to make you pay through the nose ..AVOID AVOID AVOID.

After few unbelievably horrible moving experiences with couple removal companies that I hired for previous removals of mine, I was hesitant on trusting any such company again until I did not see the van of Handy Moves parked on the driveway in my neighbourhood and asked around about them. I also checked them online and as I had good recommendations, I dicided to give them a go.

Now from the moment I called them to the day when their movers turned at my door, I could conclude that they know what professionalism is. These people took my moving request professionally as well as were looking like a team aware of what is needed to be done for my stuff to be moved and transported efficiently.

The entire move was conducted for about 5 hours, including light packaging, loading the van and transporting my items to my new address and that appeared to be way quicker than the previous movers I had hired, so I am really going to let you decide whether they are a good moving company.

I hired this moving company for my move during the holidays and as I did not have much time for searching and comparing different companies, I took the recommendation from a friend for this one. Here I am to say that Handy Moves really lived up to the recommendation, especially as handling my move during such a hectic season as the holiday season is. I did not expected such professional and personalised service giving that I was moving house at the busiest time of the year, but the well trained movers who appeared at my doorstep and took care of my possessions, as nothing was damaged during the transportation, made me feel really special and not just the next customer to take off the list. I took the time to leave a 5-star review for my go-to removals company in UK because they totally deserve it! We've just moved 4-bedroom house from Baliston to East London at the end of July.
Having used their professional moving services back in October 2015, we had no hesitations on turning to their company once again. As expected, they did not fail to impress us with their professionalism, helpfulness and efficiency as well as reasonable pricing, as we were charged only for the hours they have been helping us, which ended up being 1 hour less than the initial quoted time.
I would not say that we usually move house with unusually large amounts of possessions but cooking is in high regard in our family, so I can say for sure that the food related items such as kitchen equipment, crockery and cooking books were quite a bit. Therefore, the choice of Handy Moves as our moving provider was the most logical choice giving that we were certain that all our possessions would be taken due care of. Their professionalism and personal approach as well as detailed explanation of all the steps to be taken throughout the whole moving process won us from the very first time we came across them.
On the day before the actual move, Peter - the team leader of our appointed team of movers came by to help us with packing the majority of our possessions, bringing all the necessary materials and moving boxes, so everything could be efficiently prepared for the next day. By doing this forward to the initial planning meant that the whole process of our moving home would be smooth and quick. It also meant that our movers were really handy and extra careful with our possessions from their packing to their transportation and unloading in our new home and so nothing was broken or even slightly scratched.
We felt really good knowing that such professionals were taking care of all aspects of the move for us!
On the moving day, the whole removal process took less than a half day, despite of the 40 miles stretch between the two addresses. Having visited us on the previous day, the movers came with a lorry, so our entire household was loaded and trasnported to our new addresss in just one trip.
All that meant that we could use big part of the afternoon for sorting everything around and relax a bit in the evening too.
In short, Handy Moves were brilliant and I would not hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone moving home!

It’s always been hard for me to move home, after a small research on line I came across Handy Moves a while ago. For me, one of the most important things is getting the right speed to the entire operation. Once the day of the move arrives, I just want to get everything done quickly and easily and that’s the problem with these guys. They came on time but worked soooo slowly through the whole time, as if they had a day off, not a working one. Despite the speed, everything was delivered without a scratch!

Service cost: £1250

Late, ill equipped and incapable of providing service they promised. Not trained or professional and cannot dismantle furniture as stated - after 1.5hrs partly unscrewing a bedframe and me providing tools, they attempted to take the bed base down the stairs intact, got stuck and tried dismantling on the stairs.
Also drove recklessly and at illegal speeds with smell of burning from van. Resulted in job taking twice as long (and Handy Moves earning twice as much) as should have done, me and my partner doing much of the work and them significantly damaging our stuff e.g. our mattress now has soaked in grease and dirt from road and van.
The after-sales is even worse, take no responsibility and T&C make it impossible to claim for damages. DO NOT USE.
