They arrived late.

I was quoted 2 hours. The move was ten minutes drive (home to home). The removal men were often seen leaning against anything they could find to smoke. At one point they were kicking a ball around in the house. It took them 7 hours to move. My two children could have done it faster.

£1000 worth of damage. Two new leather sofas had holes in them, totally ruined. Anyone will know how that feels when you have done your best to look after quality furniture. Quality Rubber wood storage box full of important documents dropped in the middle of the road, damaged. Broken lampshades and badly scratched wooden chest of drawers.

When I called the Manager Maria Parker. She apologised. Further conversations became very stressful as her attitude became defensive and extremely argumentative. I was revered to their Insurance Department. After forwarding photographs, I was advised that due to the number of items being under 5 I will not qualify. I was also advised that I should have purchased premium insurance. Trading Standards have advised this is absolute nonsense. I have not received a penny. An absolute nightmare.

Stunning from the start to the very last minute. I was amazed by the skills of packing and loading of the team that came to my house. I mean I have tons of things and I actually never thought they would fit any van of any size. But hey, those men knew what they were doing. Very hardworking and very nice, I appreciate that they even had the time to get extra packing materials as I've forgotten I had stuff in the basement as well. The customer support is top level, also. Cheers to the great removal team of Handy Moves.

Theft. There were missing and damaged goods. Dishonesty of my items being dropped/damaged. There was 3 hours delay in getting to me. Time wasted by cigarette breaks, their phone calls, slowness of the movers, time started and ended. I did the majority of the work (I should have of paid myself!). They're disgusting so called customer service. Avoid at all costs. They also operate under a website called Removals House. Handy moves - do not respond to this review unless you are willing to partially compensate me for my money which was rejected by you when I wrote a complaint letter.

Handymoves made our move very stressful and we would absolutely not recommend them.  They were 2 hours late, had no ladders, straps or allen keys to dismantle furniture.  One of the 3 men had a bad back so could barely lift boxes.  Needless to say they  took longer than expected and then charged us more money..a further £230.  Having refused the pay the additional charges they have bullied us into paying more by threatening court proceedings, which has prompted me to write this review.  Do not use this company if you want a smooth move.

We hired Handy Moves for our move from Tottenham to Enfield without actually knowing anything about them, so as you can imagine we were a bit apprehensive as to the kind of service we’d receive and were worried we had made a mistake. We were pleasantly surprised because the movers turned up on time and were really friendly. They just got on with the job which included lifting some really fragile ornaments from a rather expensive collection. We were really anxious about it but they handled them really well and everything arrived safe and sound at the new house so we could relax and breathe again! They also put up with us stressing and nagging them about being careful in a very good natured way which we appreciate! All in all it was a great service and we’d definitely recommend them to anyone who is after a reliable moving company.

We have contracted this company to undertake our move last week and unfortunately on the day our experience was very poor, stressful and disappointing. Firstly the movers arrived 1 hour late. A couple of hours into the move they presented me with a parking ticket! and on talking to their manager I was told that it is stated in their T&C's that customers have to pay parking ticket even though this wasn't clearly communicated to me at the time of the booking. With this kind of policy no wonder the movers didn't bother to park the van correctly in the first place. Have I known that I was to be liable for parking fines, I would have actually given visitors parking vauchers. Their english was very poor but they managed to say that if I did not pay the fine that they would have to pay it themselves and had to work 2 full days in order to pay a parking fine (£60). We paid the company £50 per hour so somone is seriously being exploited here. The whole move got even more stressful when I disputed the parking fine over the phone with several people in the office (every time I called someone different picked up the phone). The manager stated that if I did not pay the fine that they would stop working. Half our family belongings were in the van already so I was forced to agree to pay the fine otherwise the situation would get messy.. Half - way into the move another call from the office ordering me to pay for the hours spent until then and when I reminded them that I was actually moving and asked if I could pay at the end for the service, which was what I was told at the time of the booking, I was told absolutely not and that if I did not pay immediately that my belongings would not be delivered. Bascially my belongins were hold to rason, literaly! So it is a shame because the actual movers seemed to be nice people and managed to deliver everyting without breaking which was a relief. The management however was utterly unprofessional and turned this into a very stressfull, very frustating and a very unfair experience.

Hiring Handy Moves was the best decision I made when moving offices. The whole company was transferring our location to central London which we know is notoriously difficult to do and we’d anticipated a very stressful experience and loads of unnecessary expense. What we actually got were some extremely friendly movers, who obviously had loads of experience as they took this massive job in their stride without any problems, going out of their way to make sure everything was done quickly and efficiently even though this meant the move happened during out of office hours so that there was minimum disruption. Although there were a couple of organisational hiccups on our end, the movers dealt with everything professionally and it meant that the move went as smoothly as could have hoped. I would definitely use this company again, although hopefully we won’t be moving offices again in a while!

I used Handy Moves to move recently and was generally pleased with the moving service from start to finish. I had used them before and had been happy with them. I was again happy with the price I was quoted when the consultant came to measure up the amount I was moving. We chatted about how some of the bedroom furniture would be maneuvered down the stairs and close to the best exit points. I appreciated there was a lot of heavy items and there would need a few workers to carry them. Luckily the lorry had special lifting gear to help load it on the lorry. I was able to get a time to suit my busy schedule and booked a date. I only organized for my contents to be moved I did the packing myself. So we were getting the big stuff close to the front door simply by using some friends to help! As moving day arrived, I felt unnerved as I had everything packed and no removal vehicle. We couldn’t move for the contents in the downstairs area of the house. It was 30 minutes late due to a traffic accident; fortunately the driver called after a time and told me they were running late. Though it turned out OK, as the move still went ahead with no more hitches and I know accidents can’t be helped. The loaders actually shifted a few small tables to compensate for the late start. I was thoroughly pleased with the entire organization and planning, everything went smoothly and the workers knew what to do. Great Work! I would certainly recommend anybody needing a reliable removal company to hire this company as they were very helpful and hard working. Plus the choice of services were huge and the rates reasonable.

I moved recently and had a great experience! I used Handy Moves who were a local company and I knew a lot of people who had used them and had been very pleased with the work. I booked a date to get a quote and a member of staff called to assess the situation. The chap was helpful and measured the load. I had some bulky furniture that was heavy and expensive so needed some careful handling. All this was taken into consideration in the costing. The quote was great! To be fair the company was providing the packing supplies and doing the packing, as well as the loading and delivery. It was arranged over two days as I had a large load to sort! I booked and two packers first arrived kitted out with stacks of bubble wrap, boxes, labels and tape and began the packing. They worked hard and carefully got the lot boxed up and set out ready for the loading the next day. The lorry turned up on time and there were 4 staff, who quickly loaded the lorry expertly strapping down and covering to protect for the trip. It didn’t seem to take long until it arrived at my new property and was all being off loaded and unpacked. Though I was initially quoted £60 less than what I actually paid I have to say it was worth the money. The movers took a few chairs that were not included in the initial quote and maybe that is why I was charged additionally. The job was done to a high standard from start to finish, by a great group of people!

I was moving out from my 2-bedroom apartment, I had a lot of stuff to be packed and didn’t want to get rid of anything. The guys from Handy Moves did an excellent job wrapping my fragile belongings. Literally nothing was broken or damaged and all my items were in pristine condition upon packing. They packed everything with extreme care and did it in a very timely manner. The team didn’t speak English well so that caused difficulties when I was trying to explain something that needs to be done. Other than that two thumbs up for Handy Moves!

Before moving to my new home, I got some practical tips from Handy Moves, who I hired as my movers. Since companies usually charge hourly rates, I was advised to organize and pack up all the stuff that I intended to bring along. The company would dissemble large furniture to fit through the doors and down the stairs and they would reassemble it at the new place. They helped me pack all the fragile items. Crockery, glasses etc. were individually wrapped in tissue paper and all my valuable paintings, vases and large fragile items were wrapped in bubble wrap. Bigger boxes carried heavier items and middle-sized boxes were used for lighter items. All were properly labelled. TV and audio equipment were bubble wrapped together with their cables and remote controls.

My family rented a new apartment this month as my elder brother got engaged and next month we have his marriage. The place we were residing at initially was a 2BHK, but now that my brother was getting married, we needed a bigger house. It was in no time we found an excellent newly constructed 3bhk apartment and decided to move in as quickly as possible, as there were innumerable arrangements to be made for the marriage. We decided to take the help of Handy Moves. I came to know of this particular moving company through my friend, who had moved 2 months back. So, we called in these movers and fixed up the date for moving. On the scheduled day, the movers were very punctual. Their conduct was professional and yet amiable. They assured us that the move will be completed before sunset and it was. They were quick with the work and not only that they were very efficient but also they took care of everything as if dealing with their own belongings. Initially, there were four of them, but by afternoon, two more movers had to join in because of workload and this was the only drawback as we had to pay for them as well. I must admit that I have forgotten to mention a lot of items and pieces of furniture when describing my property for the quote so it is partially my fault. Otherwise, we were really satisfied with the work done. Everything was moved and also set up perfectly. The charges were (eventually) affordable for the kind of service provided. I would personally recommend them for whenever you want to relocate. They are amazing with their work.

Handy Moves helped me with my house removal last week and I was satisfied with their service. I had a two bedroom furnished apartment, so, I didn’t have too much that was going with me. I had to hire them due to a tight schedule or else I could have done it myself with the help of a few friends. Anyhow, it took five of them to getting everything organized and into the packing boxes and then into the truck. The removal was completed in five hours. I was a little disappointed because it could have been managed by three or four people at most and that would have meant a slightly lower cost for me. That did however make the move a lot faster than it would have taken otherwise.It was worth the cost.

It doesn’t happen often that you use a service and you know that you are never looking elsewhere. My experience with Handy Moves was something like that. Not only did I get a professional service I could depend on, I also made some cool friends. I lived with my wife in a one bedroom apartment and it had been more than five years in that house. Now that my wife was expecting, we decided it was time to move to a bigger house: an upgrade on the space and the quality. We found a really sweet apartment and the deal was one we couldn’t refuse so we decided to put pen to paper and splash some cash. We were pretty psyched until it came to packing. As my wife was expecting, I sent her over to her parents till I could take care of the removal. And that is when I found out how clueless I am around the house. I immediately called my best friend and he recommended hiring a removal company and that is what I did. The lads that helped me move were energetic, cheerful and very professional with their work. They wrapped up everything over the day and the next day we were unpacking at the new place. We cracked some jokes and shared some funny stories and the whole tiresome experience seemed like a day out with my friends. We had a little problem that morning with the truck parking at the wrong house for over half an hour while all of us waited for it to arrive but I enjoyed their company, so, no complaints. I was compensated for the delay so everything was ok.

The team arrived 3h late for a small removal job of some furniture only, apparently due to a technical problem with a van. The company offered initially that they may be able to send a replacement van earlier, if I agree to pay cash instead of credit card as agreed when we entered into the contract. I found that offer very strange. The entire job then took 2.5h in total, from arrival of the team at collection location to completion of unloading destination. The team was efficient and professional once on site.

Handy Moves are the finest packers and movers I have encountered. I am immensely impressed by their work and professionalism. Their experts worked really well for the relocation of my office. I work in the fashion and tourism industry and most of the time, I am travelling. If, by chance, I am in town, I am busy with the studio work. So relocating my office came as the most irksome task. There was so much to be done and neither did I have time nor any kind of preparations done. My office is by no means a small office. It was my elder sister who suggested me to hire these people as she had already had a good experience moving her house. I booked them online. The relocation was completed smoothly with no damage done to any of the belongings. Their affordable price was another alluring factor. There was no inconvenience caused except that there was some confusion with the new address, so it took 1 hour longer. That was not a problem as I asked them to move a few boxes more to compensate for the delay. They were well organized and communication between the various departments was up to the mark. I can’t thank them enough for their great service. In future, I am going to stick with them when it comes to any kind of relocation.

I was renting a big house and then bought a smaller flat (all I could afford) so I had a lot of stuff for storage. Handy Moves were really easy to book and use, they sent a team of three guys who got everything done really quickly. It did end up costing £100 extra, but I didn’t actually tell the office that half the stuff was being unloaded at a storage unit and the other half at my new flat. So technically there were two lots of unloading so I guess the price was still reasonable. They were still really apologetic about it even though it was probably my fault. They moved everything themselves and were really careful with everything, I can’t really complain as they got it all done and the move was a smooth one.

My daughter in law picked out Handy Moves for me when I was ready to move into my retirement home. She mentioned she booked the whole thing online and it was very easy, I was a bit worried she hadn’t spoken to them over the phone however. They ended up calling me that morning to confirm that two men would be with me soon, they were just running a bit late. So I felt very reassured that my stuff would make it to my new place on time. The two men were very friendly and helpful, I asked them to be careful with a few things as they were fragile and they even carried one special box on the passengers lap. I was amazed when my daughter in law and I met them at the new place –they arrived there before we did. I feel I was able to settle very quickly as I had all my stuff there already and once I had unpacked I felt at home thanks to my lovely moving helpers.

If you are moving anything valuable or fragile DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Hired Handy Moves to move two large and expensive pieces of furniture. On making the booking I was told the removal men would be experienced and professional. In actual fact the two men that showed up did not seem to have a clue how to move large items smashing them into the walls and ceiling repeatedly, damaging the items and the walls of the property. On arrival refused to move one piece saying it was impossible even it had been moved into the property with ease. Made dents in the front of a £7000 wooden cabinet so it is ruined. They had no equipment - they had to use my trolley because they did not bring theirs. They did not have protective gloves for lifting so used my tea towels and did not return them. They did not use protective blankets or secure anything in the back of the van so smaller metal items went into the van unmarked but came out of the van after a five minute journey covered in deep large scratch marks. It was reported to the company but I was simply told abruptly to contact the manager via email. I have but there has been no response. I have looked at the contract which they do not provide until after you have contracted them to do the job. It states they are only liable for £40 of the damage to a £7000 cabinet unless you contact them before entering into the contract to declare the value of goods. None of this information was provided before I entered into the contract and they did not offer any advice or options regarding insurance when I made my initial enquiry or contacted them to make the booking. I will be reporting them to trading standards and would urge others to do the same if they have a bad experience so something can be done to prevent this company operating.

Appalling from start to finish.  Bad communication.  Damaged our property and furniture. Movers worked very slowly despite us being being very clear that we had to vacate extremely quickly to allow cleaning of the property we were leaving.  They also did not cover our furniture to protect it despite the fact we paid for the materials and asked several times for them to do so. Took far longer overall than the original amount quoted as an estimate.  Decided they had to do two trips to move our stuff, even though there was plenty of space in the van to do it all in one trip.  Obviously this ended up costing us a lot more.  Took forever to unload the other end, therefore increasing cost further. The reason the reviews for this movers are so varied is because it's completely hit and miss.  The company themselves are charlatans - tried to have a sensible conversation with them about resolving the issues we'd had and they just did not want to know.  The service you get on the day is purely down to what the guys that turn up are like, nothing to do with the company itself I.e. they do not have any effective standards, training or policies for the people that do removals for them as claimed on their website - that's all a load of tosh. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - THEY DESERVE TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

Handy Moves felt like a truly great deal for me. I got a job in a different city and honestly, I had to move on a very short notice. Given the fact that I lived in a small one-bedroom apartment, I thought packing and unpacking would be quite easy – and they would have been if I did not have to work all day long for the past couple of months before I actually moved. A friend recommended me this removals company, I called them and asked them how much they would charge for my house removal. They gave me a quote (and it was quite accurate, they only charged £20 more than the initial quote), I hired a couple of movers to help me with the removals proper and I also asked them if they could help with the packing and unpacking as well (which they did and for a very affordable price too). The team was here on time, they worked really hard and the entire job was done in just a few hours, to my surprise. Aside from those £20 they charged more, I don’t think anything else would qualify as a “minus” to their service. In fact, I am more than happy with how things went and even with the extra £20, they still did an amazing job. I really don’t know what I would have done without them, so I definitely recommend them from all my heart. .

1.      When I hired Handy Moves I wasn’t sure if they will finish the job within the hours I booked as I have a large 4-bedroom property and there was a lot of work to be done. Unfortunately they arrived 45 min later and of course due to this they had to work another extra hour. Because of this misunderstanding I had to cancel my plans for the afternoon. However to make it up to me they didn’t charge me for the extra work and gave their best. I would use their services again.
