Excellent Cooperation.

Desparate by all the organization that had to be made for the move I contacted Handy Moves for help and that was a clever decision since they really proved to be profesionals. They arrived just a bit late which was no surprise having in mind the traffic in my prveious area. They were handy in deed with all the boxes and packing stuff, so I didn't have to worry at all. All my posetions safely arrived at my new home, all thanks to Handy Moves. Moreover, I wish to congratulate them on the great salesman they have, he was extremely polite and understanding.

Thumbs up.

This company had been best represented by the removalists you sent us- they demonstrated patince, politeness and last but not least diligence.I must admit I was a bit surprised seeing such hard-working removalist as I have heard all kind of alful stories about broken belongings and scratched coaches for example. But I can say since I got in touch with Handy Moves and their customer service centre, everything was flaw-less and stress-free. I mean it is hard enough you have to leave one place and go to another so you clearly need no more worries on your head which based on my experience makes Handy Moves an excellent choice.    .

Oerfect.

Feeling uncomfortable with the moving your team was great comfort for us. And they were aslo exceptionally helpful. I was in the greatest dilemma with all those removal companies and the contraversial opinions about them but then my friend told me about Handy Moves and he was pretty sure I will be satisfied with their services, so I trusted them with my belongings and I each of them was perfectly safe in my new place. They were just a bit late but you could not even notice it as everything besides this was flawless.  .

Good choice.

We will make no fuss the next time we are moving cause we know whom we shall refre to. Thank you for the assistance. Handy moves were exceptional. I mean that I had so much things and you managed to help with te packing of the fragile stuff as it was previously arranged and all went smoothier than we expected. Not a single thing was broken or scratched which was my biggest concern as I had heard terrible stories from my fellows regarding other companies. But I am glad with my choice and I will happily do it again.   .

Sincere thanks.

Moving your business location is probably among the hardest thing you can do if you own one. My little shop turned out to have a lot more to move from its old place to the new, but I am glad I chose Handy Moves because their service was superb. I had packed some of the things, mainly the little ones but they took care of the bigger ones and is no flaw in their present condition. Booking was easy as well as the whole process which went perfectly normal. They delivered everything in the appointed time so I managed to arrange the new place and had everything under control.

Handy moves.

I've used the removal services of Handy Moves twice and I am also their customer for the storage as well. So I can say they are pretty reliable. I haven't had anything lost or damaged during each of the movings, nor have I found anything missing in my storage stuff. I've heard terrible sorties about broken furniture and that kind of nightmares but I am glad none of them have happened to me. Add to that good communication and I think you have a great moving company.

Happy customer.

Chosing a removal company can be tough in London, isn't that so? I mean there are so many out there that I can't really imagine how to pick one, so I asked my former collegue who I knew had moved from Glasgow to London which must have been tough. He recommended Handy Moves and here was I calling their office. They welcomed me very nice on the phone and the actual service didn't ruin the first impression. The boys were quick and skillful with all the loads of boxes I had prepared, so everything was done on time which really surprised me as I had too many things but luckily it all went well.

Handy moves.

My husband and I were moving from our old home in Ealing to a new 2-bedroom house in Kensington. For me moving is very stressful chore and I wanted to make it as smooth as possible. I done in-depth research on most of the movers within the London area and I chose to book a date with Handy Moves. It was raining that day and I was surprised to see the movers come on time. They introduced themselves and started packing my belongings. They double wrapped my piece of furniture to protect it from scratches and tightly packed my valuable items. For the delivery they were also on time and when they started unloading the truck, they put the items into my new house I warned them that we have very expensive porcelain floor tiles and asked them to be extremely careful not to scratch them. I was constantly checking to see if the boxes were in the right places. I wanted everything to be sorted so it would be easy for me to unpack. After an hour the movers were done and the bill was the same as I was told in the first place. In the end I ended up cleaning the mover's footprints off of my brand new floor. I know it was raining, but I think they could have taken off their shoes when entering my house.Overall, the moving process was very good and organized without any items lost, damaged or scratched.

Move from London to Hertfordshire.

Avoid this company at all costs.. 1) despite having booked and discussed the move requirements ( which were simple ) agreed date and time on 14 Dec, several weeks in advance with collection time of 12 o'clock  the removal team only arrived at Chiswick just before 6pm..6 hours late 2) When called at 12.15pm I was told by a lady at Handy Move who did not identify herself that the team were running late but would be there at 2pm 3) At 2.15 pm I rung again and spoke to another unnamed person who said it would now be 4pm as the 'job' had overrun and the team were on the other side of London ..he advised his boss was David ..who was in a meeting.. 4) About 4pm I spoke with David who was pretty evasive and just said that it would now be 5pm and the van was coming from South East London and stuck in traffic. I asked the name of the owner of the company ..he said ..George ..did not know or would not provide other details but promised to email me them ..he never did .. 5) I then spoke with Jamie ..who was helpful but seemingly unaware of all the previous problems and advised that the van would be there after 6pm 6) The van arrived in Hitchin at 8.20pm the guys were exhausted and told me they were not in SE London but had been in Watford..so I was lied to ..they also said they office organisation and coordination /leadership was dreadful 7) I was offered no discount for the shambolic service and the lady I had spoken to earlier in the day had just said rather aggressivel,y that I should have read the terms and conditions that specified no refunds or discounts ! All in all it was stressful, upsetting and rubbish ..I would never recommend this company and indeed if this industry was regulated would have reported them    AVOID !!

London to Manchester.

My friend had to move from London to Manchester. Because she was very busy at work and had a lot of things to do before moving, she wasn't able to search for a moving company and that is why she left me in charge of her moving process.   My mom used the storage services of Handy Moves a couple of weeks ago so I decided to contact them and ask for a house removal. I felt a bit nervous, because this was a very responsible task for me as it was neither my house nor my belongings and I had to be very careful to choose a reliable company.   The representative of Handy Moves – Wendy – was polite and very helpful. She explained all the things I had to do. I gave them an inventory list of all the items that had to be moved.   On the day of the move my friend wasn't there again so I needed to meet the moving crew and guide them through the house. The guys were very competent and strong. They worked really fast.   At the end of the packing I realized that there was extra luggage in the storage and I didn't include it in the inventory list. The movers weren't able to do anything with it as the boxes they brought weren’t enough. I contacted their office to find a solution to the problem and lucky for me they made things better by finding some extra boxes and managed to fit some of the items in the truck. I was very stressed about the whole situation and waited for my friend to call me to tell me that everything had been delivered in good shape.   But instead of her, Wendy from Handy Moves contacted me to inform me that there wasn't anything broken or scratched. I called my friend after that and she confirmed everything. It was a big relief for me and I want to say a big thank you to the guys from Handy Moves.  .

Handymoves appalling service.

Furniture on delivery looked as it if had been sitting in floodwater, along with damage to personal items and boxes of books, apparenlty due to water coming into their van. They insisted I completed payment before unloading so I had no opportunity to check items. They are now refusinfg to pay any compensation for damage and considerable inconvenience. Appalling standard ofservice, I really regret using them - avoid.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Lacking any customer service.

Shame I never posted this on here earlier as it seems
the management of Handy Moves are concerned with their PR only - not their customers interest. They have tried to whitewash all negative reviews on other review sites including the one starting with "T" and has the job title of a person that flies a plane.

Handy Moves treated me with the utmost contempt and I will
be very careful doing any type of business with them in future.

Consider this, I completed / sold my property on Friday 24
July and had scheduled this company a week before to provide two luton vans to remove my family belongings at 1pm. On the Friday, I called at 12 noon to confirm whether the vans are enroute and was informed that they will be on
schedule. Next, I get a call at 12:15pm from Handy Moves telling me the vans are delayed and in fact, one will arrive at 2pm and the other will arrive at 5pm. Anyone who knows that once a property is sold you are contractually obliged to vacate the premises. I explained to Handy Moves the impact to me and
asked why I was given the smallest notice period especially as I had just called 15 minute earlier and blatantly / deliberately misinformed.

There was no empathy whatsoever, they just said that their
terms and conditions indicate the time is only an estimate so it's not their fault, so I must have factored this in. CAUTION!

I was enraged and felt the lack of any concern and poor
communication I received was unacceptable, so escalated to their so called "manager". This manager "lady" has no concept of customer service whatsoever, she was frankly rude and could not understand why I was upset that I was only informed 45 minutes to the van arrival time that one of the vans is stuck 3 hours away and my move was contingent on them completing
that delivery. CAUTION!

She blatantly kept being minimal with the truth and should have just owned up to the fact that they double booked and didn't have my interests foremost in their mind.
Some level of customer service!

In fact the worst thing that was said to me is
that I should try somewhere else but insisted better wait however long as they know I won't get another removal company - it being a Friday, so in effect, put up or shut up. The buyer of my property was enroute to the address with their
own van company at 3pm so there was a breach of contract for me. Handy Moves and their "manager" and their
"customer service" staff said that they own their property too
so understand my position but as it stands, they cannot do anything for me, they were robotic in their insincere "apologies", with no proposed resolution, no offer or compensation.

This company should be upfront that afternoon bookings are
not guaranteed. Always ask them if the van(s) they will send will be on another job prior to yours. If that job overruns, you WILL be affected and this company will make money from the overrun and will leave you in a helpless position such that you will have to stomach the delay, with no possibility of a refund, because their
T&Cs tell you in advance that delays are not their problem. I prefer to pay a lot more for a company that has a heart, a company that knows the difficulty of moving home and the tight conditions in place. A company that you tell that
you have a 2 and 3 year old in a distressed position and they don't justify their pathetic service by saying "sorry but the other customer that is wasting my time has a pregnant wife with a 6 month baby so they are in a more critical position". A company that will offer you something in return for a scandalous service. A company that for 6 hours you tell that you have sold the house with the new buyers outside and they don't say that an alternative is that they "will send a van the next day".

I will NEVER use this insensitive company again and I know
they will respond saying the same drivel of "we will take on board your comments to improve our service" - oh just shut up with the nonsense. All the negative reviews I see show that you have never learnt and will never learn. Customers understand problems occur, but to never provide reasonable alternatives or to swallow humble pie and decide to give the customer even  partial refund for troubles you have caused - shows you will not last long in this business as your reputation will be tarnished before long.

What makes my blood boil is that after the first time I used
you in 2012 to move, whilst reasonable - I since recommended you to my sister for her move - and a friend. Knowing you made money off me and my family hurts because you do not deserve it. "Manager" lady, you know yourself, assuming you are not the owner of Handy Moves - or married to the owner, you should be fired for incompetence.

Read their contract first.

Company reported my factual review on trustpilot, so I'm reuploading it here too, and any other site. as I feel slighted that they don't want you to understand their contract.

People wise - lovely great service, just awful contract..

1.5.4 When disposing of unwanted furniture items etc, which is classified as Trade Waste, there is a minimum charge of approx. ?75 This needs to be paid in addition to our standard hourly rate services.
- They could say anything left behind in the van is waste and charge you 75 - including leftover packaging
- ?75 is not a currency

3.1.1 Declare to us, in writing, the value of the goods being removed and/or
stored.
- You would need to price everything you own otherwise they are not liable

3.1.2 Arrange adequate insurance cover for the goods submitted for removal transit and/or storage, against all insurable risks as our liability is limited under clauses 8.1 and 8.2.
- get your own insurance because they don't have any

3.1.3
Obtain at your own expense, all documents, permits, permissions,
licences, customs documents necessary for the removal to be completed.
- Theoretically that, if they needed health and safety license etc. Its YOUR responsibility to get this for them. Taking them to court could mean YOU are liable, due to this ambiguous clause

3.1.6, 3.1.7, 3.1.8
- won't copy paste, but clauses are woefully ambiguous, leave you open to damages

3.1.11"how many items can be / or need to be dismantled and therefore reassembled at the destination address"
- 2.1.1 states that the quote does not include this service. & the staff are NOT qualified or authorised to carry out this service. So if they dismantly furniature as 3.1.11 states you can, they can legally charge you extra, take suit if their employee is hurt, and you would fail if you take them to court over broken furniture.

8.1.1 In the event of our negligence or breach of contract resulting in loss of or damage to your goods, we shall not be liable for the first ?150 of any claim & for any claim exceeding this amount we will pay a sum equivalent to the cost of their repair or replacement whichever is
the smaller sum up to a maximum of ?40 for any one item (see below), or
- hahahahah - not liable for first 150 - with NO provision for goods under than.
- they will only give you A MAXIMUM OF 40 FOR ANY ITEM - I.e. they break a thousand pound item, they won't pay the first 150 and then will only give you 40.
- "?40" - this isn't a currency. - take them to court and its only implied that they will give you pounds. as opposed to, say, apples.
- They will increase their liability, but it will cost you, perhaps to 100 apples.

8.1.2 Prior to the commencement of work and subject to our having received your itemized valued inventory (see 3(3.1.1)) we may agree to increase our liability, for an additional charge. We will not unreasonably withhold consent to such a request. This is not insurance cover and you are strongly advised to accept the insurance offered in our quotation, or if arranging insurance cover yourself.
- that's not how you spell itemised.
- every other mover has their own insurance, because YOU shouldn't have to pay for their insurance if THEY screw up.

Now it gets even worse.
9.1.1 If we cause loss or damage to premises or property
other than goods for removal as a result of our negligence or breach of contract we shall not be liable.
- if they scratch or break anything else not for removal. they aren't liable. at all. even if they do it. a radiator.

Now we get into specific exclusions (as if the above wasn't an exclusion enough)

"..not be liable for any loss, damage or failure to produce the goods if caused by any of the following circumstances":
10.1.7 For any goods in wardrobes, drawers or appliances, or in a package,
bundle, carton, case or other container not both packed and unpacked by
us.
- If they don't pack it. they aren't liable.

10.1.9 For any goods which have a pre-existing defect or are inherently defective.
- 'Be careful with that because it has this weakness' - nope.

10.1.14 [not liable for] For damages or costs resulting indirectly from, or as a consequence of, loss, damage, or failure to produce the goods including but not limited to loss of use or amenity.
- What? what does this even mean. Are they just not liable for everything?

11.1 For goods which we deliver [or which you collect], you must notify us in writing of any
visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of
delivery.
- basically you have to write there and then in front of them if anything is damaged, also contradictory to previous point saying you have 7 days - ambiguity = not liable.

Essentially, I don't fully understand contract law. But I can see that this contract was written by a 10 year old. and if you agree into it. they can deny liability, and not have to pay, and take easy counter-suit, and leave YOU open to suit to you in so many different ways if they break something or in any situation. They are trying their very best to make money with no responsibility and place all of the responsibility onto you.

Great experience and good customer service.

I recommend Handy Moves. Drivers are polite and friendly. My van was on time and everything was as we planned. My family and I were very worried about the safe transportation of our precious collectables we have gathered through the years. We were wondering if the moving team that came to help us move would be gentle enough. But everything was near perfect. Moving home is a huge stress and is great to know that there is a company you can rely on. When I move home again (hope not soon) I will definitely call Handy Moves.

Underestimation/Incompetence.

Handy Moves' 2-hour estimate proved ridiculously under-stated when the removers took several hours just to disassemble and reassemble a standard double bed and a workstation, both of which needed reassembly afterwards as they'd been left in a dangerous condition. The delay reassembling the bed was down to using the wrong size Allen key! Pointing these facts out to Handy Moves cut no ice. Avoid.

Highly professional removals provider.

Handy Moves are AMAZING!! The team of Robert and Lorant was simply flawless and we could not ask for better removals service than what we've received from them. Here is why we are happy to tell everyone about our amazing moving experience with this company that moved us from Kent to Devon, which was the biggest move we have undergone as a family. So you can imagine how stressful everything regarding our move was before getting in touch with Handy Moves.
Finding reliable removals provider was from the utmost importance not just for me but for the entire family. The entire move took two days period not just because of the big distance between our pick up and delivery addresses, but also because the work involved was very labour-consuming after all.
The first day was dedicated to carefully packing and sorting out all the boxes and furniture items to be transported, while the second day was for the removal itself, transporting and unpacking all of the items at the end.
The movers took great care of our possessions. They also packed and arranged everything in the moving van in a very ordinate manner, so all I say is that the guys named Robert and Lorant were a real pleasure to have around! They were so accommodating and helpful that nothing seemed to be much of a trouble for them.
On top of all that, I was also content with the great value for money they have provided me with.
So if someone asks me if I would recommend Handy Moves to anyone, I would wholeheartedly say YES, I would!

My entire family was really impressed with the level of professionalism of this company, so here is why we decided to leave this review on here, so more people can hear about them. Hope we can be useful!

Do not use. Better off throwing your stuff away.

If there was an option give 0 stars I would. They caused significant damage to both property and items. They charged for extra time they didn't use. Their complaints system is non- existent. As per other users comments, the movers do not speak any English. They definitely did not understand what 'fragile' or 'take care' meant.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY.

Beware of section 9.

BEWARE OF SECTION 9 IN THE CONTRACT - states company will not take responsibility for all negligence by delivery men caused to the property. The delivery men dragged a sofa across my floor and caused me thousands in damage and Jennifer the manager looks for all avenues to avoid admitting negligence incuding falsifying statements on delivery drivers behalf ..you are better off going with a company with a more expensive quote and save yourself the stress of dealing with a company who have s lack of respect for their customers and a high labour turnover rate using multiple contractors who take longer on jobs to make you pay through the nose ..AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Excellent movers, polite service.

After few unbelievably horrible moving experiences with couple removal companies that I hired for previous removals of mine, I was hesitant on trusting any such company again until I did not see the van of Handy Moves parked on the driveway in my neighbourhood and asked around about them. I also checked them online and as I had good recommendations, I dicided to give them a go.

Now from the moment I called them to the day when their movers turned at my door, I could conclude that they know what professionalism is. These people took my moving request professionally as well as were looking like a team aware of what is needed to be done for my stuff to be moved and transported efficiently.

The entire move was conducted for about 5 hours, including light packaging, loading the van and transporting my items to my new address and that appeared to be way quicker than the previous movers I had hired, so I am really going to let you decide whether they are a good moving company.

Take note that these prices may vary from the prices you will get if you contact the company, since these costs are based on reviews data and not the removals themselves. Please note that move prices can vary greatly based on factors like home size and distance between locations as well as supplemental services like packing and assembly.

The market averages are generated from reviews on our review sites from the last 3 years. To get more precise moving quotes, please consider using our moving estimator.
