City-Removals and Storage

We moved from SW London to Kent last week and City Removals were fantastic. They arrived on time and set straight to work packing everything away. The move itself was incredibly efficient, carpets protected in our new house as they moved things in, built all the furniture brilliantly. Everything was double wrapped and all boxes labelled clearly. We were incredibly impressed with their work ethic and attention to detail - would highly recommend this company to anyone.

City Removals were kindly recommended to us by our friends who recently used them.
The quote they gave us was highly competitive and the team was so helpful and professional in arranging our move.
We opted for two men and a van as we have decided to packing ourselves (didn't have much furniture as we lived in 1-bed rented flat).
The moving crew was friendly, careful and so fast and efficient. We will be using them again for future moves and would highly recommend them to everyone we know.

Very good service from start to finish, the chap who came to
measure up, etc. was very courteous and thorough. The person who I dealt with over the costs was very responsive and helpful and the six men who arrived to help pack up and do the moving were very efficient and were careful with all of my stuff.

They drove up overnight and were outside my new flat the
following morning (400 miles away) and unpacked very quickly.

Overall I was extremely happy that all of my stuff made it
in one piece and so quickly. There are three reasons why I haven't given five stars.

They said that they had dealt with the parking in Edinburgh but it turned out that they hadn't. This didn't turn out to be an issue as they just parked on double yellows and agreed to pay the parking fine (if they had got one).

I should have insisted on more careful coverage of the
stairs and carpet (with the plastic cellophane) as there were a few marks on my (white) carpet after they left.

The 'unpacking' option is a little disappointing, I'm not
sure if this is more of a misunderstanding on my part but I spent longer unpacking and re-packing some things than if they'd been left in boxes.

I used City to remove a 6 bed London house into containerised storage, in February 2017 and then to Dorset 5 months later. I opted for the full packing service. The team couldn't have been easier to work with and professional. The quote was very competitive and their storage option was definitely one of the cheapest. It was easy agreeing final dates, although because City wanted to do the Dorset trip there and back in one day they wanted fairly early access which meant ruling out completion day and had to be the day after. Packing fragile items was done painstakingly with only one picture glass broken amongst hundreds of items. If anything there was a bit of overkill on the amount of paper wrapping which went onto some of the less fragile things, leaving me with hours of unwrapping and huge quantities of paper to be recycled. The crew were pleasant and fast on both occasions - wouldn't stop for a cup of tea - and no damage to either house. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was first class. They arrived early and waited patiently outside. They did not rush us and they asked pertinent questions in order to get the job done well. They dismantled our furniture and put it back together at the other end. They made our move easy and vey smooth. This is a fantastic service and I would defiantly recommend and use them again. I cannot find anything to fault them with. The cost was also very reasonable and there were various options as to when you can pay.

We had a fantastic experience with City Removals. We moved from a 3-bedroom flat (with a LOT of stuff) to a house. City removals both packed and moved us. Their service was great from start to end. They accommodated special requests we had whenever we called with changes to the booking. Nick, Vlad and their team were very efficient and professional while packing and moving, and overall the moving experience was not stressful. Their quote was very competitive. I highly recommend them.

So pleased with City Removals. From initial site survey to moving day, the service was brilliant! The team of 5 arrived promptly (early in fact), on a rainy day, and were organised - each knowing exactly what their role was, they were caring with our possessions - polite, efficient and professional.They worked extremely hard and didn't stop for a break until we were outside our new home where they had a very quick and well deserved break/ lunch. When unpacking our belongings/furniture many of our heavy boxes were going up to the 3rd storey but nothing was too much trouble for the team and because of them our move was swift and stress free. I would definitely recommend City Removals as they made our moving day a very memorable one for all the right reasons. Thank you to all in the office and to the team on moving day.

I was apprehensive about moving home especially when my wife was away overseas visiting our daughter and granddaughter. everyone said I was mad! I was moving from a 5 bedroomed home to a 3 bed flat. But I need not have worried. Right from the time Nicola came over to see what was involved to giving me the quote and arranging the packing and moving over a weekend, everything was just perfectly sorted out! The team that came on Saturday and then again on Sunday were just amazing. Nothing was too much for them. If I had forgotten to give them something to pack they would happily unseal the bxo and pack again.They helped to disconnect my electrical appliances etc. The move into my new temporary home was just as smooth. All the boxes were put exactly where I asked them. My precious home shrine was moved the utmost care and attention.I would recommend City Removals to anyone who is contemplating using a removals company. Thank you City Removals. see you in January 2020 to help me move back to my refurbished home!!

I am not able to provide a fully positive review. I was very optimistic after the first phase of my move - packing and removal to storage. This phase was very efficient.

I found a treasured piece of furniture had a broken handle after moving my furniture from storage to my new home. I know it was broken during the move because I found the broken piece in the hall. I have also found that City Removals have given me the gift of cockroaches. To date I have found 3. The house I moved to was given a deep clean before my furniture arrived and there was no sign of cockroaches. I definitely did not have cockroaches before my move and so they must have hitched a ride from the storage facility. City Removals have responded by saying that they did not introduce the cockroaches. They have pest removers treat the facility every week. I do not find this convincing and therefore have to have them a poor review and rating.

The whole operation was as smooth as we could have hopped.The team arrived in Koln on the 14th loaded everything and deliverred again on time the following day in Battersea.
The crew spoke english very well,were smartly dressed and clean but the most important thing were proffessional.They were equipped with tools blankets and covers etc.
They coverred our sofas and matresses and generally took very good care of everything.
Our estate agent was late deliverring the keyes so they had to wayt a bit more but they did not complain at all.I am sure that after 2 days on the road all they wanted was to get home.
Unloading was again smooth with us giving them directions where to put stuff.
At the end they also assembled the cot and one small wardrobe.

We booked this company based on their internet reviews and we were not dissapointed.Due to the fact that our pick up address was in Germany they could not send someone to survey our house. We gave them as much details as possible over the phone and in about 1 hour our price and qutation was sent to us.They priced us on using a 7.5 tone truck and a crew of 3 men.From past moving experience this seemed right so we decided to book. Collection was on the morning of the 09th of August and delivery in Cambrdige the following day at 04:00pm.The crew was on time on both days.Also instead of using a 7.5 ton truck they used 2 smaller vehicles but the volume was the same and they took everything so it did not really bother us.They said they did this because coming with a bigger truck to Germany takes much longer due to driving restrictions. During the moving process the guys knew what to do and looked proffessional.They wrapped the more sensitive furniture in house with the rest being coverred with blankets in the van.Also the vans were packed really well. They also had to dismantle our wardrobe and bed but this again was done with relativ ease. All our things arrived in one piece with nothing broken scratched or missing. A very good moving experience overall and a top sevice.

This company moved my 2 bed flat to a four bed house. They didn’t attend the agreed viewing and didn’t arrange for the correct size trucks (we made decisions based on their vast experience and recommendation) the movers themselves were rude and abrupt asking for cash as soo as they arrived (despite us paying on line) they furniture that was delivered arrived damaged. Despite claiming they have full insurance it took nearly a month to get a response and they refused to offer any insurance claim for me. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
