Long-distance move from Canterbury, Kent to Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Shocking service.

Shocking and extremely poor service from AnyVan. Website clearly shows lots of smiling happy people in Anyvan branded work attire and Anyvan branded vehicles. They are happy as they are about to provide you with possibly the worst service of your life and charge you for the pleasure.
I booked to take a king sized mattress from and address in Sandwich to a retailer in Rotherham as the item was being returned for a full refund.
the online tracking only worked until the item was picked up then promptly stopped.
if that was the end of the issue then I would have been happy.
A few hour later I started getting phone calls and texts from the driver saying the retailer was refusing to accept the item as "it was not in the original packaging". Once I called the retailer they told that initially was true until about half an hour before when they realized it was a package from me and agreed to allow the return, however it was then noticed the item was damaged. When I say damaged I mean wrecked!! the item had been strapped into the van so tightly that he had bent the whole of the mattress. The retailer confirmed in writing to me that this was the case. I called Anyvan immediately who claimed to have photos showing the mattress laying in the back of the van. I asked for these and when these arrived they clearly showed the mattress being stood up on its side. furthermore there was no chance of it being laid on the floor due to the ladders and work tools which were strewn across the floor. These also blatantly were from when the item had been picked up and NOT when it had been delivered (and also did not feature time stamps!)!
The retailer sent me some more pictures which differed from the van drivers photos and clearly show how the damage had been caused by the strapping of the item.
I raised a claim with AnyVan only to receive a weak response a few days later saying that the "trusted transport partner" was not prepared to accept liability for the damage as they are unable to impose this upon the partner as they purely act as a mediator and pointed me to their terms and conditions. Interestingly these terms and conditions refer to an item 8.9.. however only go up to 8.8 before moving on to 9.
Anyvan also refused to refund my delivery cost as "delivery has been attempted" but missed the point the partner damaged it. this is now going through my credit card company as a chargeback.
I was told to take it up directly with the Partner. Which I did. Using the contact details provided by Anyvan which I challenged as the details provided showed a company which had ceased trading in October 2018. I was informed the details were correct and a recorded delivery letter was sent promising legal action if my loss was not covered.
10 days later my wife receives a phone call from someone living at the address sounding very worried saying the Partner has not been living at that address since October 2018 (when the company ceased trading).
When I challenged Anyvan they then obtained correct address details (so there were wrong when I challenged them initially!!)
registered letter sent to the correct address where delivery was attempted but no-one was available to sign for the item, this is now being returned to me as redelivery/collection has not happened for the last 18 days.
Anyvan have been no help whatsoever and constantly wash their hands of everything and blame the transport partner.
I am now in the process of issuing a summons to County Court to the Partner.

This company should be avoided at all costs!!

Cowboys.

If you want your items delivered cheaply but damaged use this bunch of cowboys - if not go to someone reputable. Paid for two individuals instead of one too to mitigate damages as I cannot lift. On arrival they get you to quickly sign a document then off they go, the document says the items arrived in the same condition. Had my head not been in the sky I would have taken the time but you know how moving day is, stressful. My suggestion is don't use these cowboys, use a firm that will care for your precious goods.

Hilarious - they ask me for further details then report my review - seriously DO NOT USE ANYVAN because they really just use any van and Tom and Harry to move your precious goods!!

Long-distance move from Luton, Bedfordshire to Eastbourne, East Sussex

AnyVan, AnyMan, AnyWhere, AnyTime, AnyDay.

I would not recommend this removal company. They did not pick up and deliver our furniture on the same day as we expected. In fact after many phone calls they did not arrive to collect the furniture until 5:30pm. The van was already full and they were only just able to fit our things in; which was not the full amount we said we would take. Had it been, it would not have fitted into the van. The driver was not the named contact but somebody else. We were told our things would be delivered the next morning by noon. Took an extra day off work to be there. After many phone calls to AnyVan the driver finally called us at 4.30pm saying the van had broken down in Birmingham. This is some 200 miles North of our address and they would not be delivering the furniture that day! They estimated delivery for the next day (now day 3) for 1pm. Despite making many phone calls, they eventually arrived at 5.20pm. Two items of furniture were damaged. The washing machine was dented and scratched, the dining table was also scratched and had a large piece of veneer missing from the corner. We complained to AnyVan but 21 days later we have had no formal reply from them, besides a system generated feedback survey which we have responded to including the original details of our complaint. We await their response!

Long-distance move from Oxford, Oxfordshire to Oxford, Oxfordshire

Avoid at all costs: destroyed our home.

My partner arranged a move (which included a piano) through anyvan. The removers were rude, had poor communications skills and quite aggressive, and refused to move the piano up to the first floor of our new property even though we paid for this service and anyvan website states clearly that it specialises in piano removals.

I arranged for a second move (but at that time did not realise that my partner had booked the first removal company through anyvan). This time I spoke to a representative and we hired a piano removal specialist to take the piano up from the ground floor of our new house to the first floor (with a view that we would re-coup part of the cost from the first move). At this point, we'd been effectively charged twice to move the same piano.

The new movers said that I needed to sign a waiver form to cover potential 'minor scrapes' to the walls. Having owned a piano for 20 years, I understand that this is sometimes unavoidable.

However, after they moved the piano, we noticed enormous holes in the walls, and ceiling (the second of which was not even included in the form I signed).

Two weeks after submitting my complaint, I received a generic response stating that Anyvan is not liable for the damage as they are effectively a middle man. My partner's claim (for return of funds as they did not complete the first job) was met with an acknowledgement that the website information was misleading and that they'd agreed to pay back £30. The total cost of the piano removal was around £430—twice as much as it should. This does not include the several hundred pounds of damage to the property which anyvan stated they will not take any responsibility for.

After several back-and-forth emails with their claims manager, I was told that they would not provide me with the identity of the transporter company nor would they provide me with a durable copy of the contract required under the consumer contract regulations act.

I am in the process of taking legal action against them.

I would avoid using this company at all costs. Companies like this should not be allowed, they take no responsibility for damages and scam you wherever possible.

Long-distance move from Glasgow, Lanarkshire to Watford, Hertfordshire

Pay extra for a proper service with professionals.

What seemed to start of as a good service, has now turned into a living nightmare since Anyvan delivered my items.
These were originally colleacted by Anyvan, who packed the items themselves before putting them into storage.
Last week, when Anyvan delivered my items, as the pictures show - my items were completely destroyed in comparison to when they were collected and in excellent condition (see last photo).
When they delivered my items, we tried to put the table together only to realise that the nuts and bolts were missing. I contacted Anyvan to explain not only was we missing something which they had collected, but also that the table had been ruined. The rep on the phone, looked into it but never called me back. I had to chase this up myself which isn't great customer service. After putting in another call, I was told by the same chap that the drivers went back to the storage unit, and they had found the bag with the nuts and bolts and would drop them off - which they did. However, in 5 days now I still haven't heard anything back about my complaint about the damage caused to my items. I find myself having to constantly chase this company, by email you're lucky if you get a same day response. By phone - 'I'm sorry but we are not able to transfer your call to the relevant department, so we will take a number and ask them to call you' - which they don't!

Avoid this company and their services at any cost. In fact, I wouldn't use them again even if they paid me!

Horrible customer service too, appalling in fact.

So Anyvan - what will you do about my complaint?? Will I be compensated?

Avoid Anyvan.

I used the service twice, the second time the men transporting my items damaged the wardrobe while putting it apart, the wardrobe can not be fixed, cannot be put together again plus one piece was missing. AnyVan denied everything after I complaint plus in their terms and conditions it says that they are not liable for theft, lost or damage. Small claims court against Anyvan is not possible because they are only the intermediary company and the contract is between the trader (men and van) and me. Additionally you won’t get the details of the men who did the job due to data protection. Only option left is to write to your local MP to ask him to look into it and complaint to Trading Standards. Most likely Trading Standards don’t do anything unless is an issue affecting loads of people. Despite of paying by card the bank not help either. Please avoid this company.

Stay Away from Anyway!!

I would AVOID AnyVan at all cost!!

I used AnyVan recently to remove my property and after the removal men left my property I unpacked my items and when I turned my TV on I saw a black line and internally cracked screen. Apparently the van men have mal-handled my items and damaged my TV . I contacted AnyVan and I was told that their basic insurance don’t cover damages and that they cannot do anything about it ..

Basically anyvan insurance is for FIRE, LIGHTNING, AIRCRAFT; EXPLOSION AND THEFT caused during transit and does not cover for damages.

As you can see the basic insurance you get when you use AnyVan does not even relates to their main RISK activity which is DAMAGES to people’s property , which is absolutely ridiculous, and in my opinion is FRADULENT !!

So when you use AnyVan you should know that your items are not covered unless you are carrying an AIRCRAFT(It would be interesting to know how many Aircrafts have been removed by AnyVan) unless you are willing to pay extras for their high premium insurance.

I would not recommend AnyVan to anyone to use. As you can see they offer no protecting to your items .One would expect them to at least put measures in place to protect clients items during transit against damages. I would stay away from Anyvan and use local removal companies . I own a blog with reasonable monthly views and I am now considering making a post about this company. This is not acceptable!!. This is a verifiable order and I have posted my order no for them to confirmed. Use local delivery men , those you know and can trust.

House move turned into a nightmare.

We were moving house and chose Anyvan.com because of the great ratings they had on review sites.
They were very easy to book but that is everything went downhill.
They would not let us speak to our moving team directly and we had to go through them.

They estimated that we would need 40 boxes plus our items of furniture. They also said it would only take 3 hours to pack our things. They did not even visit to check. My wife and I were skeptical but we decided to trust the professionals (Mistake!!).

The van they sent only managed to hold 28 boxes. We did not know what we should do or what was going to happen. Every time we called Anyvan.com we were kept on hold for at least 30 mins and when we finally got through the staff were completely useless. They would not tell us what we could or could not do. They gave no instruction. They just kept telling us that they have "escalated" the case. They did not tell us how long that would take. We were left completely clueless with a car full of kids and no home with no idea of when the issues would be resolved.

It seems that when you call their job is just to empathise with you without actually doing anything. They have no power and they will never pass you on to a manager or to anyone who makes decisions. They wanted to unload the entire van and inventory the contents and it was only my wife who stopped them pointing out that this collosal blunder is their problem and they can fix it on their time, not while we have 4 children waiting.

We were just left waiting with no-one to explain to us what we should do except useless people from Anyvan.com who were happy to empathise with us but not help us.
We were distraught when their van just started leaving with a flat tyre and no explanation. We had to chase the van and find out that they were told by head office to go to Manchester (the city we were moving to) and inventory on delivery.
We drove to Manchester and arrived a few hours after they dropped off our things in the house.

They were supposed to rebuild the beds they took apart. They did not.
They also lost most of the screws and bolts needed to re-assemble them and also destroyed one bed.

When we tried to claim this from Anyvan.com first they said they would not pay out without proof of purchase which was ludicrous. I don't need to prove I purchased it to prove they destroyed it. After a few days they told us they would not compensate us for the destroyed furniture as someone had signed a form on delivery saying that all the furniture was delivered with out any damage.
None of us signed such a form!

I considered legal action but my solicitor told me that the huge amount of grief, stress and anger they caused does not constitute a damage. The destruction of the beds would amount to £500 of damages which means that I would have to pay the solicitor costs even if we won. It just wasn't worth it.

We had a total nightmare with this company.
They mistreat you and the people who can make actual decisions hide behind 30-45 minute call hold times and a layer of staff who will do nothing to help you except tell you to wait for an indeterminate time for someone to email you. All they do is say "I totally empathise with you" but they won't tell me what I should do.

An absolute nightmare.
Do not use them!!

Absolute Crooks.

Super expensive, many damaged items & told there was no insurance included so there was nothing they were willing to do to rectify the situation.
One of the removal men was particularly rude & unpleasant. I would not encourage anyone to use this company as it seems to be a number of rogue traders under the umbrella of this big company name.
I now have a number of my possessions which are damaged & no compensation.
