St Albans Removals

Really good communication prior to removal date regarding timings on the day and delivery of cardboard boxes. They underestimated the amount of stuff we had to move but quickly rectified the problem on the day of the move: They recruited another member of staff and carried out a second pick up for the remaining funiture that didn't fit into the lorry on the first run. All staff members were friendly and hard working.  Overall we were very happy with the service. .

Only moving two miles or so from London Colney to Smallford. Lots of communication from Alfie beforehand. Two vehicles (one of their own and one leased from a local van hire company) arrived promptly with a team of 5, not all of whom had necessarily met each other before. Not a problem as they all worked well and got the vehicles loaded efficiently in and in good humour without any problems or breakages. Can't fault the work of the team. They were very patient when waiting at the other end for a number of hours due to solicitors hold ups. They then unloaded promptly putting everything in the correct room with no fuss. We were then asked to pay remaining balance in cash which necessitated a trip to the cash point (not always easy when you don't know where the nearest one to your new house is!) Another £150 was politely asked for but we refused, sticking to the initial quote. This didn't seem to be a problem and boxes were collected 48 hours later. All in all a positive experience and we would recommend.

St Albans removals moved us and the contents of our 3 bed terrace from one side of the city to the other.
Alfie and the team did a good job despite very difficult circumstances on the day of our move.
Things did take a little longer than expected but additional hands were brought in and the job was finished by the end of the day.

We had a minor issue with the removal of the piano as the guys didn't have the equipment to move what is a very heavy piece of furniture and as such it had to be manhandled resulting in some minor damage to the rear.

Alfie provided us with a number of packing boxes and has been fairly relaxed about their collection giving us sufficient time to properly unpack.

Overall the experience was good, the team worked really hard and got the job completed to our satisfaction and the price was very competitive.

Having been let down at the very last moment by another firm, we rang St Albans Removals for a quotation and an estimate of how quickly they could clear our office from all office desks, furniture, PC equipment, miscellaneous books, etc. To our delight, they were able to carry out the clearance that same day - in fact, just an hour after our initial enquiry to them.

Five men arrived on time and within a few hours had completely dismantled, removed and disposed of everything we had requested.

The men were very courteous, friendly and polite. They worked solidly and professionally.

Would not hesitate to recommend St Albans Removals - 5 star rating from us!

Alfie and team did a brilliant job at moving us from our flat in London to new house in St Albans. The packing service was fantastic and as they came the day before they were able to bring extra boxes and make sure we were moved out in good time on moving day itself.

His team, particularly Jay and Dan, were courteous, friendly, helpful and really careful - none of our items, including a lot of fragile pieces, were damaged in the move and everything was packed up beautifully!

My only comment would be that Alfie didn't view our flat beforehand and although I sent photos so he could see the furniture, he underestimated how much stuff we had (!) so did ask for more money on the day which we hadn't factored into the quote (which we had selected as it was the cheapest initially).

We would still recommend the team - they were lovely, worked really hard and nothing was too much trouble.

Very happy with my move from St Albans to Milton Keynes.  Large move needing two Vans close to the Xmas period.  Moving is very stressful and testing time,  but Alfie and his team were not an aspect of that.  Would certainly use again.
Moved Motorbike, lots of furniture and lots of boxes.  One sofa was marked but such is the cost of moving home. 
Alfie arrived with a large team to ensure we could move on time. and were understanding while waiting for the completion and xfer of funds before we could get the keys to the new house.

We were given very short notice to move out of our house (which was fairly big) and move to our new property. At very short notice I called St Albans Removals and the owner Alfie got back to me very quickly and we organised a time for him to come round and produce a quote.
Alfies price was very competitive (cheaper than other companies ) and I agreed to use his company.
From start to finish St Albans removals were fantastic. Alfie was the contact throughout and put us at ease so we had no worries come move day.
He gave us a variety of options and made sure that we had no other worries and even got a courtesy call the day before so we knew they hadn't forgotten.

On move day all members of the removal company were polite and fantastic at their job. They were very careful with all of our belongings and furniture and a great help throughout.

Once we were at the new property once again they were fantastic and everything went where it was supposed to go and nothing was damaged.

I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quick, polite, patient and highly efficent company.

Move from St Albans to St Albans. Alfie and his team were highly professional, and completed our move with great efficiency, can-do attitude and at a good price. The promptly set about packing our furniture, and were careful with all our valuables/breakables so no damages were incurred. They were very accommodating when helping with positioning our furniture in our preferred rooms, despite some challenges fitting up staircases and through doorways, and helped dismantle furniture which was outside the scope of their agreement. Communication was excellent throughout. Highly recommended! .

I hate writing bad reviews and normally don't but our experience with St Albans removals and Alfie was exceptionally bad.
Initially on the phone with Alfie, after I clearly listed all we have to move and moving literally 5 minutes away, we were told a price of 'around £450'. Then on inspecting our contents and opening all our cupboards and draws which we found very weird especially as we said we will be packing ourselves, we were told 'around £900'. We said their price seems unreasonable and we don't like the 'around'. He asked how much we are willing to pay, we said not more than £750. Agreed.
But then as our house was not ready for us to move in on the agreed day, we called Alfie to ask if we could postpone the move for a couple of days as we have a two year old child and we will not have heating and hot water in the new house nor a working kitchen. Very rudely he stopped me talking and said none of it is his problem and he will not move the day at all, he will await a confirmation for the day already agreed then put the phone down. We already had a bad feeling about this company and their boss, this just confirmed our feelings and we really didn't like how manipulative he seemed to be taking advantage of the bad situation we already were in thinking we will agree to his bullying because we wont have a choice and because we paid him the £100 deposit already. When we said ok then we will NOT go ahead with the move with him, he was agreeing to the new proposed date but at that point we were ready to lose the deposit but to not deal with him anymore.
We were very lucky and we found a different removals company at a last minute who turned out to be a real Dream Team and amazing in every way, and their price of £600 for the whole day without pressure was actually the real price rather than the rip-off by St Albans Removals.

St Albans Removals is excellent. We have a big home with a family of 6 and as you can imagine a lot of furniture. We moved from America and have oversized large pieces of furniture. In addition, we also have a lot of fragile items, antiques and breakables. St Albans Removals were able to safely and quickly relocate us in the same day. We were impressed that there were no scuffs or scratches on the walls and wood floors. Care was taken with a carpeted areas to avoid soiling. We are very happy with St Albans Removals and would highly recommend this company.

We moved from a rented property to a home. We agreed on a package of removals and end of tenancy clean for a very reasonable price.
Alfie and his team were very efficient at their job and communicates very well throughout the move. They were very helpful and take pride in their job. The end of tenancy clean was done very professionally.

Last week I had a very urgent requirement at very short notice to move 6 bulky items which needed dismantling. To further complicate the scenario we had a 2 hour window to do this. Alfie and his team arrived early and were efficient and courteous. The whole operation went very smoothly and all my items reached the new house intact and without a scratch. The team went above and beyond expectations.

It’s the 2nd time I have hired Alfie and his team this year. They come highly recommended.

We were looking for a removal company at relatively short
notice. Alfie was able to come round give a fixed price quote for our removal and followed up with good responsive communication by phone. We went for a packing and removal service. Alfie and his team came round the day before our
move and did a swift job of packing up the bulk of our items, including the things we had stored in the loft.

On the day of the move the team arrived on time and
efficiently packed the rest of the items including two items of large furniture which needed dismantling. They got us out for the moving deadline with minimal stress.

Our move was only 5 minutes up the road and they were
waiting to go once we got the keys and set about unpacking and reassembling furniture. They listened to where we wanted the items to go and they asked when not sure. Everything was unpacked within a few hours so we could start settling in.

All in all I would recommend this company for removals.
They do a good job and at good value. No items were broken or lost and the reassembled items are as they were in the old house. Alfie was polite and easy to talk to and always kept us informed.

I recently moved from St Albans to Hemel. I actually found out about this company because I saw one of their vans while I was walking the dog. I called up and spoke with Alfie, who was very polite and helpful. I arranged a time for him to come over and see what I was planning on moving, and again I found him very polite and professional and he was on time! He gave me a quote and we agreed a time/date for my big move. On the day they arrived on time and really took all the stress out of moving. In summary, friendly, professional and efficient. Highly recommend.

FANTASTIC SERVICE

Alfie and his team are super helpful, professional, quick and experienced in dealing with sofas and sofa removals. He and his team were able to collect my corner sofa from London and bring it to St Albans. They provided constant updates and wrapped the new sofa carefully with dust sheets. They removed an old sofa through a juliette balcony and lifted it down to the ground level. My new sofa would not get past the first turn of stairs and effortlessly they hoisted the new sofa from the ground floor to the first floor and into my living room. Throughout, Alfie was calm and collected. He knew exactly what he had to do. Alfie and his team are super helpful, professional, quick and experienced in dealing with sofas and sofa removals.

Absolute gents, courteous, professional and masters at what they do. Recommended to everyone who thinks they can't get their sofa in.
