I recently moved across town and emptied my four bed house, storage locker and insanely overloaded loft space into our new five bed house.

The crew, specifically James and Mark were fantastic; loading boxes carefully and constantly with a great attitude!

All of our stuff got safely to the new house except for one item that I moved myself in my car!

Wardrobes, bookshelves and beds were all dismantled and reassembled perfectly into the new house and the lads wouldn’t let us lift a finger - preferring to tell us (me and the wife) to just relax and let them take care of it all!

An excellent removal company - they managed to fit me in at under a week's notice and Alfie and his team did a great job at a very good price. They were incredibly friendly and helpful and had space to fit loads of furniture. They carried everything down two flights of stairs and into the new place without causing any damage or marks to the properties. They even dismantled and reassembled a very fiddly Ikea bed in about 30 minutes! Can't recommend them enough.

Alfie and guys(Liam and Ricky) were very professional took care of all the stuff. Loading the prepacked falt and packing the kitchen. The guys took care of the fragile stuff very well. Made sure to ask us where we wanted our furniture in the new place and assembled the ones if requested. All in all happy with the service provided. A tip to remember if booking them,always request them to visit the property prior to the move else there are awkward moments where the fixed price has to move due to the size of the move is not what was assumed by each party. Happens to the best of us. Alfie gave us a good deal, covered the second trip without charge for the extra bits. Would definitely do business again. Cheers guys!

Prior to a new kitchen being installed, Alfie and his team packed the contents of my old cupboard and moved them up two flights of stairs to our spare room. Upon completion, they returned to move it all back downstairs again. All crockery and fragile items were packed either in clean white paper or bubble wrap, and large items of furniture were redistributed around our house. As a working mother this service was invaluable. All the stress of preparation was taken away by Alfie and his team, not least by ensuring that there was a good supply of boxes and packing materials. I would thoroughly recommend this packing service.

We lived in a two bedroom apartment and we were moving to another two bedroom house. We wouldn't say that we have an unusually large amount of possessions, but we do like to cook and we have a lot of kitchen equipment, crockery, cook books and items that are food related. We wanted to make sure that whichever removal company we chose they would be able to deal with the bulky kitchen items and take due care with our possessions.

We considered a number of removal companies and from the moment we met Alfie of St Albans Removals we were impressed by his professionalism. Alfie was personable and he put us at ease with his logical explanation of the steps that we would take with the whole process.

The day before the move Alfie and his team came round to pack the vast majority of our possessions. This forward planning meant that the move itself was quick and efficient. It also meant that we did not have to worry about packing items incorrectly and avoided any items being broken. It was good to have professionals take care of every aspect of the moving process.

On the day of the move the moving process took less than half a day, which meant that we had the majority of the afternoon to sort out things and we were then able to relax in the evening.

In summary, we found Alfie and his team to be very professional, courteous, helpful, efficient and the pricing was good value. Alfie and his team took all the stress out of moving homes and we wouldn't hesistate to use Alfie again.

Alfie and team did a great job moving my things within Herts. It cost a little more than originally quoted due to the amount of stuff I had but I'd thought the original quote seemed light so had budgeted for a higher figure. The guys turned up on time and worked very hard and there were no breakages with crockery or glasses so thanks to Malik for wrapping everything so carefully. Josh and James also did a fantastic job dismantling and putting together the furniture in the new place, so I was very pleased with the service provided and would use them again.

We moved recently from St Albans to another city about an hour away. We hired St Albans Removals to pack all our stuff up and move everything.

Alfie and his team were amazing. They went above and beyond to make our move as smooth and easy as possible. They worked super hard, were kind, polite and very respectful. I was initially quite nervous about having someone pack my stuff. I had heard bad stories about stuff getting broken etc. However, everything arrived completely in tact and, not only that, but it was packed in such a way that it was super easy to unpack at the end.

I found St Albans removals to be friendly and efficient.On the day of the move they turned up early due to the distance involved with four helpers and packed all my belongings and furniture into the vans with almost military style precision and efficiency.They handled everything carefully and worked quickly throughout.I found Alfie to be very friendly approachable and polite.He answered any questions I had efficiently and put my mind at ease regarding the move.
At the new address the team of helpers put everything in the correct rooms and again were friendly and efficient.

We used Alfie and his team to move from our house in St Albans to a rental property nearby and then back again 9 months later when our renovation work was finished (this website doesn’t recognise St Albans as a location so I’ve had to put Watford !). Alfie came and discussed what we wanted and his experience was clear as he spotted things we hadn’t thought of and made suggestions. Alfie was keen to get us to commit to a there-and-back deal with a greater part of the payment on the outward move; I was nervous about the risks of this kind of an arrangement but I needn’t have worried - Alfie contacted us when he was starting to get busy around the time we had expected to be coming back to make sure he could fit us in, he made himself available at short notice to accommodate our move home when we were ready, and then very kindly fitted in an extra run for us another day when our house wasn’t finished on time and we couldn’t bring everything back initially. In both moves, Alfie, James and their team were on time, polite, quick, and careful. Nothing was broken or damaged in either move. He left us boxes for anything we wanted to pack up ourselves, and arrived ready to pack everything themselves. What I particularly valued was the appreciation shown for the sentimental value attached to our belongings and the care taken over items that weren’t necessarily expensive. I can whole-heartedly recommend Alfie and St Albans Removals. My only tip would be to make sure you keep your kettle, tea and mugs available as Alfie likes his cup of tea !

This company came along and surveyed the contents of my home before quoting. I had four quotations, all other companies emailed with complete details, insurance, details of packing material ie temporary wardrobes etc etc. This company were not the cheapest. St. Albans removals promised four porters to pack the contents of the house but there were only two. They said they had two of the large furniture vans. I particularly asked about the vans, do they own them etc as they were the only website not to show any large furniture vans with signage. I was assured they owned them. On the day of the move, the plan was to pack and fill both vans. They turned up with a luton top 35cwt van and then complained that he wasn't going to get everything on board! Turns out they DONT own large furniture removal vans but they do own two 35ct luton top vans, certainly not enough for the contents of 3 bed house? The owner was disgruntled when he used only one of his vans and had to HIRE a 3.5 ton truck plus driver! The move was a nightmare. There were two packers but they were too busy loading to pack so my family had to pack. They were supposed to have everything out of the house and on the trucks on the first day and then travel on the second day which would have left half a day to clean the house. I had to find a carpet cleaning co last minute as it was raining and they had no dust sheets but just walked through on cream coloured carpets. The packing boxes were second hand. The temp wardrobes were second hand boxes with a bit of tube stuck over the top when they used them they just rammed the other clothes into boxes complete with hangers. we ran out of boxes so we're fortunate that my daughter works for a publishing co and we had access to boxes. They didn't finish packing until mid afternoon on the second day when the new owners plus their removal co were queueing at the door. To our disgust, st Albans removals told us they were finished and were setting off. It wasn't till some time afterwards that we discovered they had driven off and left a large quantity of items in the back and side garden. Last minute we had to borrow a friend and his van, two cars etc to transport the remaining stuff. Overall Atif (Alfie) is a charming chap who promises the earth but on this occasion at least was incapable of undertaking what he promised. The two guys who work for him did so tirelessly but the move wouldn't have happened if my family hadn't worked through the night packing and then picking up the pieces when this went wrong. To add salt in the wound, because we were late arriving, stuff was dumped everywhere and I didn't realise till afterwards that he used all my towels as packing materials and had used my bedlinen as dust sheets in the new home whenever unloading the van he complained about the time it had taken etc and asked that I paid him a further £300 (cash) on top of what he quoted and was paid. Please beware!

I used Alfie and team a couple of weeks back for my move which happen at the start of the covid-19 lockdown and so glad all went ahead. Alfie was the fairest on price and reviews were good. The team were very professional, polite and hard working. I got the big items disassembled and reassembled without any problems and we were done within approx. 4hrs which was great as I only needed one van. I wouldn't hesitate to use St Albans Removals again as it was stress free, quick and they took great care to ensure all items were well pack and supported in the van before transit. thank you again.

Alfie and his team show up on time and are extremely careful with your items and your property. On my latest move, it was important to move in one day, Alfie made sure to bring enough help and two trucks to avoid an extended day. They put in a great day and completed on time. We used St Albans Removals when moving house during the lockdown restrictions last summer. Alfie and his team were helpful and reassuring, following all the government's guidance measures, which made the move less stressful. We were keen not to let Covid-19 scupper our moving plans and Alfie and his team showed great commitment with helping us plan and prepare and seeing the move right through to the end. They were careful with our precious furniture and securely covered and wrapped up our crockery and fragile items, carefully loading them into their van. Once at our new place, they continued with the heavy lifting, ensuring furniture was placed exactly where we wanted it. They displayed patience and flexibility when we experienced a delay collecting our house keys from the estate agents by waiting for us at the property, and ensuring we settled in properly. I would highly recommend them to all my friends and family.

St Albans Removals came to the rescue with only a few days notice when the date of our move from Luton to Letchworth was fixed by constraints outside of our control. His team stepped in with Ricky providing a faultless and friendly packing service that had to be seen to be believed, (not a single item damaged), and the rest of the team working hard to first pack and then unload our furniture and belongings (under Alfie's watchful eye). This in itself was impressive, but when we discovered that the house we were moving in to had been left in such a state that we could not take up residence (especially during the Covid pandemic), Alfie and his team came to the rescue again by providing a team, on a Sunday, to clean and disinfect the whole house from top to bottom. Excellent service with a smile - what more could you ask?

I’ve used Alfie to move twice in the last year, once just as the first lockdown was starting, and a second time a year later based on the first one thing excellent service provided the first time.

Great team, very friendly, always willing to do extra (which you discover along the way) and very competitive rates. Turned up on time and also provided plenty of interesting conversations and stories to enlighten the stress of a house move!

Helpful hint: when you get quotes from Alfie including a range assume the top price (but it will still be competitive as I had 3 quotes for my last move and Alfie was the most flexible on dates and had competitive prices)
