Avoid at all cost!

Initially, we had thought that we had chosen a great company with friendly people who cared. However, once we had signed things got a lot worse very quickly. Fundamentally, the packers are paid to stuff as much as possible into boxes as quickly as they can. If they have to destroy stuff to make it fit, so be it. Whatever has only emotional value, they are happy to destroy: rip apart delicate stuff or scribble with permanent marker on wooden furniture (!) and plastic containers because they know that the insurance company will not pay for emotional value and they are too lazy to write their numbers onto something where it causes no damage. In addition, they do not have to unpack - it is a totally different crew at the other end who will always claim that it was not their fault. Lots of things got broken on the way, even solid mirror wardrobe doors, side panels of bookshelves and wardrobes etc. On top, when we were in the middle of the loading, their operations called and said that the volume was 20% higher than they had estimated (they sent around their best estimator for the quote) and that we had to pay immediately (obviously at that point you have no choice but to pay up).…

Once the international third party sole trader which Simpsons-UK had given our money to in order to handle delivery and 'destination services' disappeared, Peter Simpson was quick to remind us of the clause in the contract we signed with them that the customer has to pay any costs arising from such circumstances. From then on we were at the mercy of these third parties with virtually no support from Simpsons-UK except long and patronizing emails from Turner demanding us to 'just pay them'. Late delivery, poor communication, loss of money, rude suppliers - it was a horrible experience. If you pay Simpsons-UK to move your possessions internationally you will pay for their poor choice of global agents, which they will not even contract, just prepay with your money. Why use Simpsons-UK at all? Just go and research local contractors in the country you are moving to. Simpsons-UK made our move an awful experience and their replies to others in this list demonstrate their arrogant approach to customer service.

Delivery Dates Very Unreliable.

Simpsons' were initially a really great company - quick quotations, very helpful staff, and the removal was smooth and pleasant. The problem started once our items left the house. Our initial estimated delivery was one week (we were so impressed, this swayed our decision to pick them), which became two weeks, then three weeks, then four. We were assured the four week estimate would be accurate, but then promises to call us and confirm were ignored, and every time we called them we were assured, again, that they would call and confirm two days later. They never returned our calls, we always ended up calling them again. We're still waiting, worried, in our new place with none of our possessions, and no final confirmation on delivery.

Simpsons generally seem like a good company in terms of moving and prep work, but their estimates are much vaguer than they make them out to be, and they aren't very forthcoming when trying to confirm things - dates just keep moving. It's very hard to work around as a first-time mover.

Removal London to Spain.

At first we thought how good and efficient they were. Survey guy came very quickly, quotes were sent to us straight away, A LOT of emails reminders chasing for confirmation.. They confirmed time frame for delivery was 2 to 3 weeks max, so we decided to go ahead with Simpsons. We were very impressed when the guys came to collect our staff, quickly and professionally.

Unfortunately, after that everything went completely downhill.

It has been now 4 weeks since they collected our staff and after several emails and calls (which most of them were ignored) I still don't have my stuff and what's worse I don't even have answer as of when it will arrive!! But let me tell you, they don't care at all.

Customer service PRIOR the booking was good, but once they have confirmed the business it's very very poor. I will not choose Simpsons ever again and I will make sure everyone else is very aware of what kind of service they will receive so they can choose a better company who treat customers equally as good from start to finish.

Never Use This Company.

We made the mistake of ignoring bad reviews and went with Simpsons because of the competitive price they offered. Their salesman Ersin assured us that our shipment would arrive in 5-8 weeks. It is now over 3 months since we had our things collected by the company, and it still hasn’t left their warehouse in Kent. They do not respond to emails or phone calls, they make up millions of excuses, their number one concern is making as much money as possible while you languish without your things in another country. We have begged, we have pleaded, and we are now considering legal action if the matter is not resolved swiftly. Please, save yourselves.

Move July 2017.

We moved from London to Lincolnshire

We decided to have the packing service, this with hindsight was a mistake, we had some breakages and the boxes were so heavy we could not move them, even the removal ream had some difficulty with some boxes.

There was not enough room on the van for all,our garden pots and these were delivered some weeks later.

The customer service of the management team left a lot to be desired, on moving day I highlighted some of the problems - not least the “packers” had left at least twelve boxes to be packed by the removal guys - I was told it was not my concern!

The lady in the office was lovely, and the guys on the ground were good, the packers could have done better but we had the feeling they had a set amount of time on the day after which they left the remaining stuff for the next day.

We were told repeatedly by the packers that costs for any damages were deducted from their salary even though we had insurance!

I e mailed a complaint to Steve - apparently the boss, but received a reply from Peter who was one of the people I complained about, he disagreed with me and informed me I would receive a response to my omplaint within 15 working days,…

Avoid at all costs.

The title says it all. Simpsons is not reliable, does not taking care of your belongings, rude and their account team is non-responsive to say the least.

I hired Simpsons last July to move my furniture from two flats in the UK to one destination in France. At first, Simpsons sales were very responsive, and modified a few times their quote based on my specific requirements. It was really fast, and Stewart reassured me. My company was supposed to pay for the move, but when discussions took place we all discovered that the process would be too long for my company to pay on time before the date of the move. I offered to pay for the move and get the money back from Simpsons once my company paid them. Both parties agreed and I had assurance from Simpson that I would get my money back as soon as my company settles the bill a second time.. how naive of me! My company paid in September, and since that date, I have been e-mailing and phoning Simpsons every week to get my money back without success. So I am 13K down at the moment and all I have are this sort of comments from accounts: "I am not responsible for when the director decides to settle the account". At this stage this is…

The worst removal company ever.

Items to Paris - damaged by water. Items to Ibiza - they forgot half the items and I had to buy another return ticket to Ibiza in order to receive the rest of my items. I bought another washing machine to use while they decided when they were going to deliver. I now have 2 washing machines in Ibiza. Oh and the date for the delivery of the forgotten items changed 3 times. The staff were unhelpful and offered absolutely no compensation for the additional expenses I incurred due to their lack of professionalism.

Moving locally and storage facilities.

I had a fridge and washing machine in storage with Simpsons for 2 years and they stored both items with the doors shut rendering both items useless. They then refused to replace them by saying that it is there policy to store these items with the doors shut and it was my fault for not drying them out properly. They also damaged quite a few items and at one time refused to believe that I had a complaint although I had asked for and filled in a claim form. In my opinion they are not professional and there staff do not seem to care about your personal property. The speed there drivers drive those vans its surprising that they do not damage more items because I have seen them go past me like the wind. They do not take care with your items and when asked to put items in the garage they just dump it without any thought. It took me 9 months of fighting to get any sort of compensation and that still did not cover the cost of the fridge and washing machine. They seemed to rely on playing the long wait expecting the person with the complaint to give up as they loose the will to fight. In my opinion stay clear. .
