Simply Removals

Very mixed experience. The price was excellent - they offered a price match on another quote to both pack and move me. The men who turned up (an hour earlier than agreed) were very polite - but unfortunately  thought they were coming to move me, not pack - so they had to go away and send another team who arrived 90 minutes later. The team  were very hard working but decided to move and pack in one day and by the end they were so tired (it was 11pm) they  left a large number of items still at the property which I subsequently discovered including a whole wardrobe of clothes, kitchen equipment, pictures. There was also a lot of  damage to the flooring upstairs where the laminate is now tented up in the middle of the floor. The men did not draw it to my attention - even though it was very very obvious and the company dealt very badly with my complaint taking a week to reply and then saying investigation takes 10 days.  When pushed they explained that their insurance would almost certainly not pay as it could have been a result of furniture which had held the floor in place now being moved and I should claim on mine.  Although this is absolutely a fair point I felt it was very poorly communicated and I felt very badly dealt with. As a result I cannot recommend this firm at all.

I got a cheap quote from this company over the Internet and it was then adjusted as we had more belongings to move. We had two other companies come to our house and measure our belongings which was given to Simply Removals. They charge a £55 waiting fee after one hour when your belongings are on the lorry outside your new house and refuse to take items that have already been agreed via an email when submitting the value of your contents to them. Basically do not trust this company as they knowingly sent a lorry that was far too small for all of your stuff and when you call the office they say they will speak to the manager and get back to you but to this day I am still awaiting for them to return my call!! Anyway the two removal men we had were good and loaded the lorry and took to the new property and off loaded some (fortunately it was a sunny day) and returned to get the rest of our belongings and done our move in two trips!! As luck had it we were paying cash so when they emptied the lorry load into the house and sat on the back of the lorry and said they were finished with all the items they had offloaded earlier still sitting on the drive due to their company sending a van that was too small we had the upper hand to tell them to at least shift the big heavy stuff into the house else they wouldn't be getting a penny!! All in all it was a nightmare and I would never use this removal company again as even when we tried to complain after the event we got nowhere and in all honesty my dad could have driven the size lorry they turned up in so wish I had moved ourselves.

The men on the ground are excellent but the company as a whole are terrible - they did not send a van big enough for my house even though they had packed the house the day before. then when the man who was packing the van said it would not all fit in the head office said he would have to make two trips - my stuff was left in the front garden while the new people moved in. The workmen worked thier socks off until 9 at night but I had to pay the company another £200 before they would allow the man to continue loading the van.  Head office did not appologise, and did not complete the job because I was left with furniture not put back together (no bed to sleep in that night) and some items damaged because the packers (different from the loaders) had not packed well. I have complained and 3 months later am still waiting for some kind of resolution. The men who were packing the van said that this often happens and that they have to pick up the pieces of the company's unprofessionalism. Avoid at all costs unless you want a stressfull moving day.

The guys who moved us from London to Glasgow were fantastic. They arrived on time, they were polite, friendly, hard working, ridiculously quick, very professional and took away a lot of stress from a very stressful move. Everything arrived in Glasgow in one piece and nothing was damaged. I can't praise them enough! I thought the quote was a bit steep at first however I underestimated the amount of stuff I had. Considering they loaded everything from my house into the lorry and then drove to my office and loaded all the stuff from there and then drove 400 miles and unloaded everything, I now think what I paid was a bargain.

Two men did a huge days work without complaint or question. Spot on time and delivery  --- can't fault the company or its employees  
No damages and sympathetic handling of valuable/ fragile goods as well..and this included garden plants and produce.
Top marks all round for performance. Top marks also for the appearance and professionalism of the crew. Thay made maximum use of van space but with care and attention.
Would gladly recommend this company to anyone considering the daunting task of moving house.

I called Simply Removals because I had heard from them through a friend. I needed to move ASAP and I managed to get a date quickly.
On D Day, the removers were exactly on time and incredibly efficient: I gave all the instructions regarding the different types of boxes (fragile, heavy, to go on top..) and the guys moved my belongings accordingly, without my explaining again.
I had previously a few bad experiences with removers but Simply Removals got me reconciled with them!

I was moving the contents of my flat into storage less than quarter of a mile away. The movers went to the storage warehouse instead of the flat first and that initial phone call introduced me to the difficulties we would have communicating - both young men spoke very little English making the whole process very difficult.
i could not watch my belongings at each part of the process so I trusted that everything went where I asked however when I tried to collect my television from storage, it was not there.
i called to express my concern and it is safe to say that the man I spoke to, as I had expected placed the responsibility on me; did I watch them, did I check the lorry, did I check the flat? He would not even consider that the television had been taken. I would not have called unless I was completely sure that my television had gone missing in the move. Is this a clever scam happening often or a mistake - simply removals don't seem to mind which.

My husband and I were so impressed with Simply Removals.  We used their packing and moving service.  The work ethic and positive attitude of the two movers was unbelievable.  We have moved several times in the past and have found it to be a frustrating experience - with movers taking long breaks often and breakage being the norm.  This time couldn't have been more different --- the two movers worked non-stop, without a lunch break even, were polite, kept a positive attitude throughout and were, quite frankly, super-human in the amount of work they did in the time they had! To top it off, there was not one damaged item as they handled everything appropriately and packaged everything adequately. .

Davos and his two colleagues were only late due to the snow fall that occurred early that morning (5th Dec), so they really couldn't be blamed for the road conditions. We were very impressed and amazed at how quickly the guys worked hulking the contents of our 3 bedroom first floor maisonette down the stairs and on to their lorry. The guys only stopped once for a quick drink and had the lorry packed within 2.5 hours and headed off to our new address without any fuss. Davos and his team were fantastic, taking the stress out of moving 237 miles north and were well worth the cost of £1056(inc vat.) I would recommend this company without any hesitation. Very efficient moving team they were very professional and knew exactly what to do to make the move painless. They treated our possessions with great care when loading the truck and loaded it within a short time frame. There were no delays between leaving our old home and reaching the new one approx 2hrs and on reaching our new home everything was placed where we requested. For the service they provided the cost was very reasonable we would recommend them to our friends or anyone in need of a very efficient removals firm top notch service. Tom & Liz Curran.

We moved from Hemel Hempstead to Hastings. The guys came twenty minutes before the collection time which was great for us. They were friendly, helpful and extremely hard working. At the other end, even though we'd moved to a top floor flat (36 steps) they worked cheerfully. It was pouring with rain and they took extra care to keep everything dry. I cannot recommend Simply Removals highly enough. The whole moving house experience was made a lot easier by this company and the two guys who did all the work Ten out of ten!

Our two chaps, who for the life of me I cannot remember there names arrived early on our moving day. With tea and coffee at the ready they declined bless them and blitzed our house. After a 10 minute discussion of how to load our sofa/musical equipment safely they roared into action and had everything done with no fuss at all. Utter and total gentleman. They arrived at our new house, after a bit of a wait to get the keys and again with cheeky smiles roared into life bench pressing our wardrobe and hideously sized items up tight turns and an ornate staircase like childs play with no damages no digs. Could not reccomend this company more!

Justin and Mario's arrival was perfectly timed. From the start they were efficient, professional, and friendly.
Their advice and experience was invaluable as they made us aware of certain things which would make our move run even more smoothly.
There was no messing about they were straight to the job at hand whilst maintaining a friendly persona.
These are the men you want for your removal day to be stress free. Extremely hard workers and a credit to Simply removals!

We had a really superb move, from start to finish with Simply Removals.Dealing with the initial quote and booking was simple, and the packing team were just fantastic. It was great to use a company that supplied us with brand new cartons including wardrobe cartons, all of which were ours to keep, and so did not have to be unpacked on the same day as the move.The moving team, led by Chris, were also superb and could not have been more helpful. They worked tirelessly and the move went smoothly and easily. Overall, it was one of the most stress free moves we have had.Many thanks.

I had my belongings moved with simply removals on Saturday 10 May. I paid £876 for the move by card the week before and the balance of £60 in cash on the day for dismantling and assembly of some furniture. I am still waiting for a receipt. I told the company before I moved that I needed a receipt and was told to wait until after the move. I have called 3 times and emailed 4 times and been completely ignored. I wish I had used a different company. The two men who did the move were excellent and I was feeling very positive but this experience has turned everything around. I am unable to make a claim with my new employers without a receipt and I am out of pocket because these idiots in the office can't push a button.  I have asked for their complaints procedure as it is not published on their website but surprise, surprise, they have ignored me. Don't use these cowboys.

I can't speak highly enough of these guys. Prompt, professional, diligent and worked extremely hard to make my move as stress free as possible. Everything was packed carefully and logically and even the huge plants were given their own space. The two guys worked so hard I felt guilty having less to do but they were a credit to themselves and the company. I would certainly recommend to friends and colleagues and use again myself if I have tomove again. Thank you.

Having moved three times in three years (internationally), a simple move within London using this company has turned into a complete drama of epic proportions. Possibly one of the worst service experiences I have ever had and I would definitely not recommend to anyone who values efficiency, professionalism and trustworthiness. The whole removal experience from my flat turned into a day of issue and stress (and, ironically, isn't that why we pay other people to handle the whole thing for us? To avoid stress??). I paid the company up front for storage while waiting to move into my new property and they have repeatedly (i.e. each month) taken charges from my current account regardless of having been paid in full already.  Simple accounting is clearly something this company can't do either.  I am now heartily fed up having monthly debates with Simply Removals about what they need to pay me back, please sort out, etc.  It appears from my conversation that nobody seems to want to take ownership. their departments have no communication with each other and, worse, they appear not to have a computer system telling them when I have made payments and how much. Avoid using this company!

We moved from North to South London (3 bed flat to 3 bed house) and had a 3 man team who packed up the whole flat for us and moved us in one day. The team were wonderful - very professional, efficient and personable. I am 8 months pregnant so couldn't help much and they were fantastic - made the whole process smooth and stress free. Would definitely recommend them as they are much better value than other removers who I've used before and provide the same service for twice the price.

We moved at 9am on Saturday. The 2 men were brilliant. They were quick, worked so hard and were very friendly and personable. I was very impressed and wish to thank them very much. Moving day was far from stressful thanks to these two, who did not complain even though it was a hot day and our flat was 2nd floor! They were very professional and worked so hard. They were on time and worked very quickly. They were also very friendly and cheerful which made such a difference to our day.

The worst removal company in the world . Agreed a fixed price contract ,on the day their  lorry broke down for four hours ,hence they were unable to complete the job . That was Friday ,they promised to return yesterday and no one showed up . I have been  chasing all day and given the run around by Damien Moretti and James humphreys both refusing to do anything . People are due to move into the place tomorrow ,now they won't be able to ,thanks to simply removal.  This is the first of many reviews , I keep you posted on this sad saga . I would advise you all to chose a decent removal company and not simply unless removals!

When you call simply removal for this first time, you receive well spoken helpful staff but that is where it ends. We had a packing service that was not done properly. We were packing ourselves on the day we moved, hence we were rushed to finish because the removals staff wanted to go. We have moved a number of times. We have always packed ourselves and have been able to find everything. We would have done a far better job ourselves. It was supposed to be less stressful and it wasn't. We have called customer services left message and called main number demanding someone call us. Poor service, items missing. Yet no one has called us so anyone thinking of using this company, think again. They are unprofessional and don't care. Once they have your money which is paid upfront. Also there is a language barrier.

We were meant to have this lot pick up at our place at 9am on the Saturday.

They didn't turn up so I had to chase them 45 minutes later. I was told someone would find out what was happening and call me back in 10 minutes, which in all fairness, they did.

However, the excuse was that their driver had broken down, and wasn't able to call and yell anyone because of poor phone reception
reception. Now if that was the case, how come they managed to reach him within 10 minutes, yet didn't have a good enough phone reception to contact anyone throughout the previous hour?? When asked, I was refused a straight answer and was told a replacing would be with us, and I'd receive a call to tell me wheb they were arriving

An hour later I had to chase them to be told they'd be there by 12. At 12.20 I called AGAIN as they still hadn't arrived. The response I got was a joke.

I told the young lad on the end of the phone that I paid for a service that was unacceptable, and that I'd had to cancel an important appoint I had organised at 1pm. The response was this

"Well, you can sort it out another time can't you?"

Unbelievable! The only saving grace of the day was yhe guys who eventually turned up to do the move were very fast and efficient.

But the attitude of their so called office staff is beyond a joke!

If you've been reading this then please for your own sanity, DO NOT USE THIS OUTFIT!

Everything about this removal has been awful. The worst experience I have ever had. We booked in for removals between 12pm and 3pm. The packers yesterday were great and fast, although they were late too. Our removals still haven't turned up and everytime we speak to someone they are rude. It is 5:35pm and still no removals. Both people I have spoken to have put the phone down on me. It's 30C outside and I'm 7 months pregnant and no one has accepted any responsibility for this situation. No one has phoned me to say things are running late - it is only because of my continuous phonecalls that I have any idea about the situation. I would have looked into alternate options but have been given no chouice. I would not recommend this company at all, in fact I would actively encourage you to go elsewhere especially if you want to be regarded and spoken to like the customer. This is the most unprofessional company I have dealt with.
