Good value removals, on the day the two guys who did the job were 1st class and took great care, the loading process was a little slow but was a precission job. At the other end the unloading was as good as the loading.
There is one thing that happened that spoilt my whole experience of Simply Removals and that others should be aware of.
The salesman I spoke to on the phone advised me of my removals price of £350, (he didn't mention that it didn't include VAT), and he didn't mention anything about any extra charges.
On the day before my moving day I received a call from a girl at the Simply Removals office telling me that the price of £350 VAT included one hour of waiting time to gain entrance to the new property and that if the waiting period was longer there would be an additional charge of £60 an hour or part thereof. This was apparently in their Terms & Conditions. I was offered an insurance policy costing £80 that I had to buy right then and the waiting time restriction would be lifted. I didn't buy it and all was fine. Be aware that this is going to happen to you so be prepared for it. In my view it's a con and you should be made aware of this £60 an hour additional cost at the point of getting your quote before accepting it and not the day before moving day when it's too late to do anything about it.

This company was one of many who made prompt contact to quote for the job.
These were competitive and responded in writing immediately following telephone call from a helpful gentleman.
I booked 1 week out, the company called many times to check items were listed correctly and kept me well informed on collection and delivery times.
The men turned up promptly, professional and made a quick transfer from storage to lorry - incredibly efficient.

I would happily recommend to anyone of this companies services
Overall - Excellent.

AWFUL COMPANY, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

I needed help with the removal and storage of large furniture whilst I had carpets fitted. Since I was 39 weeks pregnant I only wanted the items stored overnight and brought back promptly the following day so I would not have to sit on the floor in my condition.

This was a last minute booking but the salesman I spoke to said it would not be a problem and would be as stress-free as possible. This was not the case.

On the day of pick up they were 2 hours late which made me miss my doctors appointment. They did not ring to inform me but when I rang them after being one hour overdue they said it would be at least another hour. I was very angry and upset.
The following day to return my furniture they should have arrived between 4-7pm. At 6pm with no show I rang and was told they were on their way and would be with me by 7pm. They finally arrived at 8.45pm with no apology.
I rang and left a message saying how dissatisfied I was and expected someone to ring me first thing. This has still not happened and they have ignored my letters and emails of complaint.

This is a terrible company with awful service and I would suggest you use someone else to help with your removals and storage.

SimplyRemoval UK is just 2 men and a Van.

The first quote is quite aggressive to win your business, but then every extra is overpriced once you are locked.

The moving men barely spoke English and were very rough with furnitures.

On delivery, we had some broken furnitures ! After sending proofs and pictures, we stopped hearing from them. After a month, we finally got some repaired only after menacing from legal action ( small claim form).

Never got any answer from them apart from telling us to wait.

Service cost: £900

I used Simply Removals in August 2011 for a move from London to Northern Ireland which included 3 weeks in storage. The condition my furniture arrived in was absolutely appalling. None of the larger items had been protected in any way. Leather sofas torn, gouges out of my wardrobe and chests of drawers. Dining room table and chairs scratched. Mirror cracked. Mattress dirty and stained. Divan stained. Lamp missing. It defies belief. I have of course complained to Simply Removals but have had no response as to how I will be compensated for this.
And to add insult to injury they have charged me £75 per week storage but quoted me £35. I would stay well clear of this 'company'.

I hired this company in order to hoist a large piece of antique furniture to a second floor flat. I specified in advance that the item would need to be hoisted up as it would not fit through the stairs. When the removal people arrived, they first tried to bring the piece of furniture up the stairs, which they did not manage, although they did manage to knock it in several places. They then refused to hoist it, saying the job was too risky, and left. Despite this failure to complete the job, I was still charged for it and Simply Removals are now refusing to refund me. A different company hoisted up the item the next day, so the job was not too risky, it was just them being incompetent, not to mention dishonest!!

Service cost: £180

The workers were kind, caring, experienced, professional and friendly. I value the effort that these men placed in doing the job. They continually was in communication with me to find out how and what to do on both sides of the moving. All items were delivered perfectly with no damage to property. The way my property were handled and positioned in the other home was highly appreciated. I was excited I had these movers and will surely use them again and recommend them to other people.

The man sent to give a quote was very professional and polite and well as quick. The office gave a quote in a short time and kept in touch.
Terms and Conditions are written clearly and are easy to read.
They were flexible and I was able to negotiate with them, ensuring I had the service I wanted.
The total cost from Dagenham to Leicester was £528 including insurance. I wanted to pack and unpack my own items and they were ok with this. Some companies have insisted they do it.
A reminder was sent the day before the move, by text and I was offered extra packing materieal should I need them. This was a very thoughtful enquiry.
The removal men arrived promptly at 8am and estimated a 3 hour journey. Half way through they re-estimated arrival at 12.15 and they were bang on.
As they offer a limited period of free waiting time (most charge £50 an hour plus VAT)I was able to make the journey without worrying about being charged more.

I used Simply Removals because I desperately wanted to keep costs down. Their initial quote was by far the cheapest (less than a third of the cost of the highest quote) and then I decided to use their hourly rate (£50 plus VAT) mainly to move my very large items having moved the rest myself in a transit van. I feared the worst on two counts: I thought that cheap would mean shoddy/cowboy; and I thought that being on the hourly rate would mean they would take their time to push up costs. I was wrong on both counts. Although they turned up towards the end of the three-hour window I was given, the two men were very efficient, courteous and helpful. They could have wasted time in countless ways but got on with the job with impressive speed. At the end, when it would have been quite easy to overcharge me, they actually slightly underestimated the time the job had taken and charged me £150 for 2.5 hours when I had been prepared to pay for 3. We've discovered a couple of small bits of damage to a couple of admittedly large items that must have been very difficult to move, and I can't be certain that they were responsible for this damage. I've had far worse from other much more expensive firms for sure.

I think this is an excellent firm doing honest, efficient work at very reasonable prices.

I used Simply Removals to move across London yesterday. It was easy and painless from start to finish. The removal men arrived on time and were tidy, professional and incredibly helpful. I felt completely at ease throughout the entire move and all of my goods were returned to me in the same condition as they left. For a service as good as I received I would have expected to have to pay more, but they were very reasonably priced and one of the cheapest quotes I received. I have moved several times in London and would have no hesitation to recommend this company to anyone.

Very dissapointing. The van that was sent was way too small. When I contacted simply removals a manager basically blamed me for booking a small van when in actual fact I read out each an every item with dimensions to them over the phone and it was they that decided on the size of the van. When I told them how dissapointed I was the manager slammed the phone down on me. I am absolutely disgusted with simply removals, they are unprofessional, dishonest and rude. I made the mistake of not reading other reviews that were posted. Please do not use this company or you will be dissapointed. Also, a couple of items were damaged as well.

The men turned up late for my removal, spoke little or no English. My items were packed so they had no reason to spend more than the contracted two hours and the house I moved to was less than 10 minutes drive from where I lived. A bag containing my children's electronics namely a PS Vita, Portable charger and two tablets, was personally handed to one of the men ( big mistake!!) because the items were fragile and my son told him so.  All items were delivered except the electronics worth over $800. Of course they want you to sign that if items are missing they are only liable up to 30 pounds because surely they are out to steal from unsuspecting clients. Not only did the items get stolen I was charged twice and they have refused to even provide me with the evidence of the basis of the charge made to my account.  I would never ever recommend the to anybody. They are simply dishonest.

Absolutely nightmare.  The experience was awful from beginning to end, still recovering from the experince, almost two months later!  Company happy to take my money but not to provide a reputable or credible service.  Operatives spoke lottele English and were rude.  Ate and drank my food without permssion.  Packed all items in the wrong boxes, labeled wrongly and placed boxes in the wrong rooms.  I am still trying to locate essential items I.e. duvet and pillows  Promised much but delivered very little..

At first I was reasonably happy with Simply removals. I felt slightly disappointed that on the day of the move the men asked for an extra £60 in cash which they say was for extra items that were unassembled. I did not after a long day of moving want to dispute this.  We had one wardrobe leg broken when it was carried from the first property which was brought to my attention & photographed by the removers. After unpacking I realised we had a few small but high value items "missing" like my ipod 6th gen shuffle & an older one, mini iPad & charger, brand new Ugg sheepskin gloves which still had the tags on. I telephoned the customer services to let them know this, they advised me to put it in writing along with pictures of the items.  This I did less than 3 weeks after our move date. I then had a rather off hand email 2 weeks later telling me that my claim was out of date as their "TERMS & CONDITIONS" state that all claims need to be in writing to them within 7 days ! Why did they not tell me this when I called. Simply because they did not want to held responsible. I have emailed a further 3 times trying to get them to take some responsibility for their staffs actions but they simply are not interested. I paid £3000.00 to them to move me & their packing staff stole items & their removal men damaged my wardrobe & they just keep telling me my complaint is OUT OF TIME! .

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEIVES I used this company in May 2013 they moved my belongings from berkhamsted to hemel hempstead into a storage box company. We moved back to our house in November and used a different company that I have used many times before and have been totally honest. It took about a weekto unpacked our belongings and I found that 2 Pairs of very expensive boots had gone missing, A sheepskin coat and some underwear. All of the items were very expensive and all were on display when Simply packed them. I have been in contact with Simply since that time and they will not do anything about it, they have said that the 2 porters they used are very honest , I told them that I had 3 porters at my home, thery also told me that they hadn't packed any of my items however I pointed out to them that they did pack a lot of my personal items and that I still have their boxes to prove it. My possessions that have gone missing are valued at £2000, My boots Russell and Bromley circa £800 and underwear valued at £150, I have contacted the police and I have been given a crime reference number and the police are going to investigate as there have been other thefts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE DISHONEST AND WILL NOT PAY OUT.

Disastrous moving day, the van they sent was late and far too small for job, no one seemed to care about this when I told them, they just said they would get another van if required. The removal men expected me to do all the communicating with their Head Office about my dilemma. The customer service team said there was no other vehicle available and that I would have to wait for the van I had to unload and return for the rest of my things. At this point the removal men said they were out of hours and could not go back for the rest of my chattels? I was told nothing else would happen unless I paid £60 per hour, plus petrol. The person moving into my house was threatening to sue me if I did not have my things off his property by 5pm. So my family basically ended up moving ourselves for twice the price quoted. The removal men also broke several antiques in the move through clumsiness. When I complained to the Company, Customer Service were not interested, nor the Managing Director, who refused to answer my letters or calls. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, CHEAP AND NASTY ! We used Simply Removals to move our possessions into storage then out of storage into our new home. We are reasonable people and of course there maybe times when small things are broken but you don't expect a sofa to be broken. Our 3 seater iKEA sofa with chaise was separated by my husband for the move, but upon it's return we found that the sofa had been damaged to the point where the screws holding the chaise, armchair, and sofa together were not secure as the wood that was supposed to holding them was broken, split and unable to be fixed. We found this out a few days after our belongings were delivered. We complained and filled out a claim form, accompanied with photos only to be told that it couldn't have been their delivery drivers as they would have reported it. The sofa was in perfect working condition when we received it and now we have a sofa that cannot be repaired. They have made several suggestions on how we can fix our sofa: we have spoken to IKEA, spoke to tradies and tried to fix it ourselves, but refuse to acknowledge that the fault is theirs. Never again.

I can’t not tell you the nightmare we had with this company from the day of our removal day. We requested a packing service the day before, the 2 men finished very quickly and I assumed they were very fast workers, fast but clearly not careful! they put everything in carelessly and I noticed this when I had unpacked the items. I then discovered on the day of the move, they should have dismantled the TV, table, bed etc.. and they never. On the removal day simply should have arrived at 9am and they turned up at 9.40am. After just working 30min they asked if they could have a break, which I assumed they meant a 5 min break, they disappeared for 30 min leaving my items in the van unattended and open while they went for breakfast! They sent a small van to fill up a 3 bedroom property and just two men! the house needed at least 3/4 workers and bigger lorry to fit all our items. When I called Simply Removals and complained they said they would speak with operations dept and get back to me and no one did! I rang back again (14p a min on a mobile which I shouldn’t be calling in the first place if they did their job correctly) I spoke to someone call Lee who said he would get back to me and again didn’t. I then telephone and at which I had enough by this point and finally spoke to Kieran who was no help at all. He said it was my fault that I never specified in more detail the property, I explained he needed to go back and listen to my conversation about what I had requested and he would hear what was agreed. Well instead of helping and sending more staff or another van. They advised that I would need to do two trips! which is appalling and I would have to pay extra for this service around £50 per hour. What should have been an easy move turned in to a complete nightmare! and 9 long hours.  My parents are 67 and 74 they should not have to deal with this at all why they have the name simply is beyond me as they cannot keep up their name.  The guys doing the removal were not to blame they were only doing what they were told and the offices are to blame. Because of Simply’s non support it led to myself (daughter) and my 67 year old mum trying to pack items that the other packers (which I paid for the extra service the day before) did not do the day before moving! and because simply would not bring more staff I was doing what I paid them to do because all I wanted was to get my parents in to their new home that day not next week! When we arrived at the new home the men had to unload, but because it was two of them and we still had to do the second run (as no extra lorry was provided) Myself (daughter) mother (67) and my husband who was waiting at the new house had to help unload the lorry with them so we could get back to the house to put more stuff back on!  It is the worst experience of my life and I felt upset for my parents who are retired and needed a simple removal but got a complete nightmare.  I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone please do not book them you will be disappointed .

I recently moved from SE1 to SW1V with simply removals and I can not begin to express how brilliant my move went. From getting our quotation to moving our belongings I can't fault Simply Removals. The men arrived promptly on our removal day and worked efficiently to get us moved to our new home. The two guys that came were very polite and made what should have been a very stressful day a joy!

I can't thank the removals team enough and also a gentleman named Lee in the office who was very professional throughout booking our removal.

I would recommend Simply Removals to anyone who wants a great service at an affordable price.
