Simply Removals

I used Simply Removals to move across London yesterday. It was easy and painless from start to finish. The removal men arrived on time and were tidy, professional and incredibly helpful. I felt completely at ease throughout the entire move and all of my goods were returned to me in the same condition as they left. For a service as good as I received I would have expected to have to pay more, but they were very reasonably priced and one of the cheapest quotes I received. I have moved several times in London and would have no hesitation to recommend this company to anyone.

Very dissapointing. The van that was sent was way too small. When I contacted simply removals a manager basically blamed me for booking a small van when in actual fact I read out each an every item with dimensions to them over the phone and it was they that decided on the size of the van. When I told them how dissapointed I was the manager slammed the phone down on me. I am absolutely disgusted with simply removals, they are unprofessional, dishonest and rude. I made the mistake of not reading other reviews that were posted. Please do not use this company or you will be dissapointed. Also, a couple of items were damaged as well.

The men turned up late for my removal, spoke little or no English. My items were packed so they had no reason to spend more than the contracted two hours and the house I moved to was less than 10 minutes drive from where I lived. A bag containing my children's electronics namely a PS Vita, Portable charger and two tablets, was personally handed to one of the men ( big mistake!!) because the items were fragile and my son told him so.  All items were delivered except the electronics worth over $800. Of course they want you to sign that if items are missing they are only liable up to 30 pounds because surely they are out to steal from unsuspecting clients. Not only did the items get stolen I was charged twice and they have refused to even provide me with the evidence of the basis of the charge made to my account.  I would never ever recommend the to anybody. They are simply dishonest.

Absolutely nightmare.  The experience was awful from beginning to end, still recovering from the experince, almost two months later!  Company happy to take my money but not to provide a reputable or credible service.  Operatives spoke lottele English and were rude.  Ate and drank my food without permssion.  Packed all items in the wrong boxes, labeled wrongly and placed boxes in the wrong rooms.  I am still trying to locate essential items I.e. duvet and pillows  Promised much but delivered very little..

At first I was reasonably happy with Simply removals. I felt slightly disappointed that on the day of the move the men asked for an extra £60 in cash which they say was for extra items that were unassembled. I did not after a long day of moving want to dispute this.  We had one wardrobe leg broken when it was carried from the first property which was brought to my attention & photographed by the removers. After unpacking I realised we had a few small but high value items "missing" like my ipod 6th gen shuffle & an older one, mini iPad & charger, brand new Ugg sheepskin gloves which still had the tags on. I telephoned the customer services to let them know this, they advised me to put it in writing along with pictures of the items.  This I did less than 3 weeks after our move date. I then had a rather off hand email 2 weeks later telling me that my claim was out of date as their "TERMS & CONDITIONS" state that all claims need to be in writing to them within 7 days ! Why did they not tell me this when I called. Simply because they did not want to held responsible. I have emailed a further 3 times trying to get them to take some responsibility for their staffs actions but they simply are not interested. I paid £3000.00 to them to move me & their packing staff stole items & their removal men damaged my wardrobe & they just keep telling me my complaint is OUT OF TIME! .

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEIVES I used this company in May 2013 they moved my belongings from berkhamsted to hemel hempstead into a storage box company. We moved back to our house in November and used a different company that I have used many times before and have been totally honest. It took about a weekto unpacked our belongings and I found that 2 Pairs of very expensive boots had gone missing, A sheepskin coat and some underwear. All of the items were very expensive and all were on display when Simply packed them. I have been in contact with Simply since that time and they will not do anything about it, they have said that the 2 porters they used are very honest , I told them that I had 3 porters at my home, thery also told me that they hadn't packed any of my items however I pointed out to them that they did pack a lot of my personal items and that I still have their boxes to prove it. My possessions that have gone missing are valued at £2000, My boots Russell and Bromley circa £800 and underwear valued at £150, I have contacted the police and I have been given a crime reference number and the police are going to investigate as there have been other thefts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE DISHONEST AND WILL NOT PAY OUT.

Disastrous moving day, the van they sent was late and far too small for job, no one seemed to care about this when I told them, they just said they would get another van if required. The removal men expected me to do all the communicating with their Head Office about my dilemma. The customer service team said there was no other vehicle available and that I would have to wait for the van I had to unload and return for the rest of my things. At this point the removal men said they were out of hours and could not go back for the rest of my chattels? I was told nothing else would happen unless I paid £60 per hour, plus petrol. The person moving into my house was threatening to sue me if I did not have my things off his property by 5pm. So my family basically ended up moving ourselves for twice the price quoted. The removal men also broke several antiques in the move through clumsiness. When I complained to the Company, Customer Service were not interested, nor the Managing Director, who refused to answer my letters or calls. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, CHEAP AND NASTY ! We used Simply Removals to move our possessions into storage then out of storage into our new home. We are reasonable people and of course there maybe times when small things are broken but you don't expect a sofa to be broken. Our 3 seater iKEA sofa with chaise was separated by my husband for the move, but upon it's return we found that the sofa had been damaged to the point where the screws holding the chaise, armchair, and sofa together were not secure as the wood that was supposed to holding them was broken, split and unable to be fixed. We found this out a few days after our belongings were delivered. We complained and filled out a claim form, accompanied with photos only to be told that it couldn't have been their delivery drivers as they would have reported it. The sofa was in perfect working condition when we received it and now we have a sofa that cannot be repaired. They have made several suggestions on how we can fix our sofa: we have spoken to IKEA, spoke to tradies and tried to fix it ourselves, but refuse to acknowledge that the fault is theirs. Never again.

I can’t not tell you the nightmare we had with this company from the day of our removal day. We requested a packing service the day before, the 2 men finished very quickly and I assumed they were very fast workers, fast but clearly not careful! they put everything in carelessly and I noticed this when I had unpacked the items. I then discovered on the day of the move, they should have dismantled the TV, table, bed etc.. and they never. On the removal day simply should have arrived at 9am and they turned up at 9.40am. After just working 30min they asked if they could have a break, which I assumed they meant a 5 min break, they disappeared for 30 min leaving my items in the van unattended and open while they went for breakfast! They sent a small van to fill up a 3 bedroom property and just two men! the house needed at least 3/4 workers and bigger lorry to fit all our items. When I called Simply Removals and complained they said they would speak with operations dept and get back to me and no one did! I rang back again (14p a min on a mobile which I shouldn’t be calling in the first place if they did their job correctly) I spoke to someone call Lee who said he would get back to me and again didn’t. I then telephone and at which I had enough by this point and finally spoke to Kieran who was no help at all. He said it was my fault that I never specified in more detail the property, I explained he needed to go back and listen to my conversation about what I had requested and he would hear what was agreed. Well instead of helping and sending more staff or another van. They advised that I would need to do two trips! which is appalling and I would have to pay extra for this service around £50 per hour. What should have been an easy move turned in to a complete nightmare! and 9 long hours.  My parents are 67 and 74 they should not have to deal with this at all why they have the name simply is beyond me as they cannot keep up their name.  The guys doing the removal were not to blame they were only doing what they were told and the offices are to blame. Because of Simply’s non support it led to myself (daughter) and my 67 year old mum trying to pack items that the other packers (which I paid for the extra service the day before) did not do the day before moving! and because simply would not bring more staff I was doing what I paid them to do because all I wanted was to get my parents in to their new home that day not next week! When we arrived at the new home the men had to unload, but because it was two of them and we still had to do the second run (as no extra lorry was provided) Myself (daughter) mother (67) and my husband who was waiting at the new house had to help unload the lorry with them so we could get back to the house to put more stuff back on!  It is the worst experience of my life and I felt upset for my parents who are retired and needed a simple removal but got a complete nightmare.  I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone please do not book them you will be disappointed .

I recently moved from SE1 to SW1V with simply removals and I can not begin to express how brilliant my move went. From getting our quotation to moving our belongings I can't fault Simply Removals. The men arrived promptly on our removal day and worked efficiently to get us moved to our new home. The two guys that came were very polite and made what should have been a very stressful day a joy!

I can't thank the removals team enough and also a gentleman named Lee in the office who was very professional throughout booking our removal.

I would recommend Simply Removals to anyone who wants a great service at an affordable price.

I used Simply Removals to undergo my move. Robin came out to survey my house, he was very pleasant, went through in detail what I needed and what they could do for me. It was my first move so I didn't know where to start!! The quote I received was very competitive so it was a no brainer to go with them. On the day of the move Chris and his crew worked like machines. They where very nice, always smiling and didn't stop once! They wouldn't let me do a thing. They moved my goods with care and somehow they maneuvered my sofa into a narrow doorway of my new home without damaging a thing. I am really pleased I moved with Simply Removals, I have been told that moving can be the most stressful day you can have. I did not feel stressed once. I can't thank the team enough.

Simply Removals is not a company you should use to help you move!!The Salesmen lied by telling us the removal drivers were local and knew where they were picking up and delivering. They were not local - as they turned up 30 mins late (the jouney to our house took 3 hours, the driver complained, because of traffic) They packed everything up with no issues and drove down to our new house. They told us they had to take apart 2 of our items, otherwise they would not be able to get them upsatirs. We said that was fine. When they completed the move, I was impressed because they seemed very helpful and friendly. However, a week or so later, after checking through our account we found that Simply Removals had taken an additional £206 out of our account. After questioning this they told us this was due to the distance from the van to our new house and the fact they had to dismantle a couple of our items. They did not mention that it would end up costing us £206 to do this - otherwise we would have done it ourselves.We have tried to complain and explain our case but Simply Removals are ignoring us saying the drivers told us there would be an extra charge of £206.I would STRONGLY recommend you using one of the other removal companies.

Despite sending this company several quotes including the cubic foot of the job from other reputable removal companise such as Pickfords etc this company turned up on the morning at 8am with a van that was too small. After contacting the company they advised that a second van would be with us by 09.30. The second van eventually turned up at 6.30pm. Our buyers were most annoyed at the delay and insisted that our belongings be removed from the property at 4pm. I could go on and on about the total incompetence of this company but I'll keep it short. I made several calls to this company prior to the removal date and mentioned that I had read reviews of customers having a problem whereby the vehicle sent was too small and this was the one thing I wanted to avoid. My house was a 3 bed semi and not a large one at that and to be told on removal day that my contents were the equivilant to a 5 bed house left me gobsmacked. The annoying thing was that one of bedrooms was completely empty and the second bedroom only contained a double bed so I'm not sure how we had as much as a 5 bed house. The guys who did the job were first class, very helpful and polite and I can't fault them but the company sucks big time. I can't say too much because I don't want to drop the removal guys in it but it was clear that this was a common problem and they were very used to dealing with irate customers upset at the way they were treated by the company. The price was cheap but you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favour and avoid these cowboys like the plague. Their bif boast is that they moved David Cameron in to Number 10 but I can guarantee that he was not treated the same way as they treat most of their customers.

I have come on here today to leave a positive review on Simply Removals and I can't believe that I have spotted some negative experiences.

I have used this firm twice in the past nine months and on both occasions I have found them to be nothing other than professional, courteous and highly capable. This, along with the reasonable price is why I chose to use them a second time, and why I would use them again.

Unlike with various companies in the past, I felt very much at ease and that my possessions were in safe hands. They made the process as a whole relatively stress-free.

So, If you are looking for an inexpensive and trustworthy removals firm with the ability to work within a strict time frame, I would strongly recommend Simply Removals.

INSURANCE CON !

Yes they are the cheapest - for a reason !
I used their "FREE" insurance and quoted the value of all the items under their clause 9.2 and they confirmed by email that we were covered.
My laptop was damaged in the move and they say that as their staff didn't pack it, then we are not covered.
This part has never been mentioned to me before and now I am £450 out of pocket to buy a new laptop.
their "customer service" is appalling !!

WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN !

Really pleased with this company. The vehicle arrived on time and was pretty quick by the time my house was completely empty and everything was on its way. The guys I spoke with on the phone were friendly along with the chaps who came to move my belongings who were also professional, conscientious and efficient.
All my items were looked after and arrived safely at my new house. I'm already recommending Simply Removals to my friends and colleagues.

The three guys arrived with one of their big blue vans early (6:40am) as promised and very quickly had everything loaded. We had no problems with loading, they expertly dismantled our very large sofa and were careful when moving the furniture. We had no scuffs, marks, dents on any of the items. They arrived early at our new house (1:00pm) and we had to wait while the money transfer went ahead. We were told that after an hours wait, we would be charged extra. However the money went through on the hour and we had no problems. With hindsight we would have asked them to arrive later to collect and so give more time for the money transfers.But we were told the loading would take 4 hours, so we calculated 4 to load plus 3 hours travelling would bring us to 2pm. However loading only took 2 hours! So it could have cost us more. The three guys were very proffessional and focused on the job, did not stop for a drink. Good value!

We had to move with short notice so these guys were booked literally 2 days before the move. I went for this company purely because they were so much cheaper than all the other quotes and although there were some negative reviews I wasn't worried because the feedback regarding the services we wanted were very positive (load and unload, no packing involved). Because a couple of reviews criticised the payment methods I called to double check before I made a bank transfer which I'm glad I did as they said that it would be cash only since we gave such short notice. It would have been handy to have been told this initially. Nonetheless paying in cash was fine by me and ultimately preferable to any other method.

We moved from a first floor 3 bed flat to a 3 bed houes about 20 miles away. The guys were half and hour late but they did call to let us know before the agreed pick up time and given the time (7:00am)it was totally understandable that they would get stuck in traffic as the roads around us get extremely congested in the morning.

The guys did seem knackered when they arrived which worried me a little but they were in good spirits and seemed to pack everything up in good time, including some bits that I'd forgotton to mention on the inventory (2x bikes and garden table and chairs. I'm still impressed by how easily they managed to move all of our stuff. Unloading was just as stress free as loading, the guys asked us where we wanted each piece of furniture and unloaded even quicker than they loaded.

The whole job took about 3 hours which includes the half hour journey to our new place. I was really pleased with these guys and would recommend them to anyone.

I had been let down by my previous moving firm so I called Simply Removals on advice from a work work colleague who has use them before. They really got me out of trouble, after booking them on Friday they arrived on Sunday Early and had the delivery completed within three hours!! Amazing. The gentlemen from Lithuania were Polite, courteous and no task was any trouble! If you are looking for a firm to entrust with your worldly possesions then you cannot get much better than this!    .
