Move from UK to Germany.

Very poor service.

Pick up date was changes on the day of the delivery itself.
Delievery date was changed 3 times.
Drivers left damage to a neighbours wall with the van. The damage has not been repaired until today.
Many of my removal boxes have been damaged. I got some really good and expensive one's in order to make it easier for me and the delivery guys. The boxes were not heavy so I am really surprised they have been damaged.

Items have not been damaged themselves.

Moving made easy.

MoveCorp was great from the start. Easy to obtain a quote and book services. Love their offer of free used box pick-up - talk about saving money on your move! We must have taken 40-50 of them, and have paid it forward by dropping them back off again. On the day of the move, our 3 guys showed up, navigated our tricky city side street and moved our 2BR 2BA plus basement storage unit to our single family home in the burbs. The truck was packed safely and securely, with furniture wrapped in blankets and taped, items secured. Everything made it to their respective room/location as directed in the new house, and all in one piece and undamaged. All in, from the time they left their warehouse until we signed off on the final paperwork, this was done in just about 6 hours. They were fast, professional, and personable! I would recommend them over and over again. Moving is a headache, and expensive. I've done it a dozen times, and after this experience, would never do it on my own again. MoveCorp all the way!

Extremely Professional Movers.

Awesome moving company! Extremely, let professional from the beginning, starting with their very thorough price estimate. They break everything down so you know EXACTLY what you are paying for!
They respond quickly and their prices are very good compared to others. Their team was very professional, checking with each piece of furniture to make sure they wrapped it or packaged it the right way. They were also very quick.
I'd recommend them for your next move for sure, they made things very easy!

Disgusting service I wish I had read reviews.

2 months late, no communication, extra hidden costs that aren't disclosed and unorganised.
I don't even know where to begin with this review i'm so shocked and repulsed by the service I have received from this company.
Initially they're lovely, the quote seems great and they're helpful, the moment they have your money which they take in full in advance everything will change. Pickup of my item which I was shipping to Australia was scheduled but when it came to the day I couldn't make it to the pickup location and I emailed them at 7am to let them know not to send the drivers as I could not attend. Despite this they sent drivers to the location for the scheduled time of 11 despite the fact they would certainly have been aware I would not be there. So there is another 75 pounds of course! to rebook. I was told a new pickup day and then had the men arrive the day before unannounced and confused even though I was told they weren't available on that day. Had to organise for a third time the correct pickup day where pickup finally occured, in a very rough manner. At this point i'm relieved, i've been told 8-12 weeks for my item to arrive and i'm off to australia. Still not impressed with how pickup went but wanting to move on. Now we get to the 12 week mark and i'm excitedly waiting to hear from the company advising my items arrival (i have recieved not one scrap of communication at this point to the contrary) So I send an email to my agent asking when to expect my items arrival.. NO REPLY FOR A WEEK we have now passed the 12 week mark, and I recieve a reply "sorry your item was only shipped from our warehouse YESTERDAY will arrive late january (2 months past 12 weeks) She didn't even bother to reply to my email because she would have told me at 12 weeks it hadn't even been shipped yet. I'm disgusted truly. My item has now finally arrived in Australia and I have now been sent an extra charge of $99 (again not disclosed prior) that I have to pay as ransom for my item to be finally delivered out to me. Whenever that may be. I would not have shipped my item at all if I had known of any one of these little added horrors. I'm only in Australia for the year and have already wasted 5 months waiting and been overcharged. Foul and a scam. DO NOT USE.

Joys of being older and wiser.

After realising this was our 10th and hopefully last move we decided to let someone else do the hard work this time and plumped for the full packing service. Okay it was a tad more than I thought but I am glad we did as the service was impeccable and worth every penny paid.
In hindsight the money it cost taking into considerationthe packing boxes, wrapping, tape and man hours it was probably cheaper than all the hard work and stress we would have endured so money well spent. A superb move and hopefully the last, fingers crossed.

Packers fine, management amateurish at best.

I knew it would be hard and expensive to find someone to pack and ship a very small shipment from my parents (downsizing) to me, halfway round the world. But I have found the result to be the most stressful move of my life, and I have moved 17 times, in or across 3 continents, 7 or 8 major cities.

In fairness the packers were excellent -- speedy and the goods were very well packed and protected. Nothing was damaged or broken, and everything involved was an heirloom of some sort. Phew!

Dealing with management and payment was a nightmare though - they kept contradicting themselves, demanding more money with minimal explanations on short notice, and being inconsistent. I seriously doubt if I was ever really insured and am glad I did not have to find out. They demanded shipping info from me -- when they had arranged the shipping! -- at one point. Delivery took ages, was originally scheduled for end January, moved to February, and then I was informed on short notice it had to be delivered on a Saturday and I had to arrange parking permission. Anyone who has ever handled a move in the country and city I live in knows you have to have a parking permit, it takes a week to get, and there are no exceptions. So I had to face the risk of a nearly 400dollar fine in case the police came round or the neighbours complained. (and no one can even get a moving company on a Saturday, so how could I have known I wasn't supposed to plan to be away on a weekend?!)

When the shipment did arrive, according to the movers paperwork they were not supposed to unpack, although I had paid for complete delivery and unpacking. Being unable to assemble large pieces of furniture myself, I persuaded them to help, but it was really ridiculous -- their paperwork told them there was no lift at the building, but there is one!

I had to work very hard to keep in touch with them to give them info -- but they were very good at demadning more money on short notice.

I am relieved I have my family's precious things, but if there had been a better obvious choice, I would have been glad to know. I could not recommend them for ''normal'' shipments.

Will we receive our goods ??

We have retained your services to move our goods (8m3) from Grenoble (France) to Boston (US).
At first you were supposed to come and pack our goods on the 1st of september. But you cancelled and ask for the 4th.. It wasn't convenient for us but we accepted. The "team" was scheduled between 10 and 11am. At noon our contact person started to become hard to reach by phone and email.. And finally at 5pm, a friver arrived, alone with his truck, and nothing to pack.. So we had to do the packing ourselves (because as we paid for that service we expected that you would pack the goods !!).
Then our contact tried to rip us off by arguing that we had too many goods and then we couldn't apply for a reimubursement for the lack of service.. But we had taken pictures and had proofs that we had less than 8m3..
Now that the goods are in London, no news from our contact. We ask for updates et for the reimbursement of the service not provided, but nothing.. And today, we receive a mail about a 100£ reimbursement because it will take "a while" for our goods to arrive.. All our furnitures are on the container, so as we are moving soon for an unfurnitures appartment (end of november, that left you 3 months to do your job whereas you told us that it would take 8 to 10 weeks !) we'll have to rent a bed or to buy a new one.. And what about our clothes ? Winter is really cold here in Boston, you have all our winter clothes, so do we have to buy new clothes also?
We are disappointed by your lack of professionalism and the lack of consideration for your constumers.. Once you have the money, you seem not to care at all !!

Pass your way!!

I wish I’d take an other company..
we paid for the full service door to door (announced 8 to 10 weeks), but no one came to pack our goods.. Just a driver ! So we had to pack them in an emergency without the right material they were suppose to provide.. More than 5 months later (Grenoble (for)- Boston) we received our goods (far from the delay first announced!) with some of them broken. Movecorp keeps disgarding us and not answering our emails..
Don’t lose your money, take someone else, they are far from being experts and professional in international moving, and the way they treat their clients is more than disgusting.

Lost, Stolen, Damaged and Woeful Customer Service.

Summary - I paid a little under £5000 to move 10m3 from France to Australia through Movecorp, including £700 of insurance and have incurred over £2000 of costs so far, with damage to the motorbike and the lost key for the motorbike still to be quoted. Collection was mid-October, delivery was mid-March (5 months). I was led to believe it would not take longer than 4 months, but with no guarantees.

The organisation of the collection was a shambles with the date changing multiple times and different plans from different companies involved (Movecorp, and their agent who they'd sent over from the UK). I never had more than 12 hours notice of a cancellation. The collection happened at the end without Movecorp knowing, as they were not communicating effectively with their agent. I had to change international travel and work plans as a result. Stuart Hall was apologetic at the time and made a gesture of goodwill. This acknowledgement and gesture was appreciated, although my feeling was still negative at the time, and Stuart said he hoped they could make it up to me over the rest of the service. I was nervous but hopeful.

The goods were transported back to the UK over several weeks instead of the promised few days to a week. Including being transferred between trailers/containers en route. As a result I ended up with some food and drink and clothing from the drivers thrown into my shipment which I found on unpacking. In the process the key to my motorbike (which has an electronic immobiliser coded to the key) has not been delivered - either stolen or lost, the bike also has damage to the handlebars and wheel from being strapped badly.

The goods were supposed to be repacked in the UK and protected for the move, but weren't, they were just export wrapped which provided minimal protection. This resulted in burst boxes, breakages and loss from boxes spilling out en route.

On arrival I was stung with a very significant duty fee for alcohol, which I had specifically asked for advice from the agent on, but was told I would be below the minimum threshold - this was a lie. While I appreciate it's my responsibility, I would rather Stuart had told me where to find the information than give me false information.

When I contacted Movecorp to tell them about the breakages and loss there was no mention of an apology. I compiled the claim details, calculated depreciation and sent the claim to them. After 9 days I was offered £150 to settle without going through the insurer, but my claim was for over £900 after depreciation (around £2000 before I factored in age and wear and tear). I asked Stuart to explain his calculation several times, but two weeks later he responded with £200 as an offer, instead of addressing the table of costs I had put together. Stuart told me he was only trying to expedite the claim, but it took several weeks between the claim being sent to getting responses.

I posted a review online where I labelled the company crooks. Stuart contacted me much faster than responding to my emails to tell me that Movecorp would take the strongest possible legal action against me if I didn't remove the post. Stuart may be correct as he asserted my original post was slanderous (debateable) so I have rewritten this as a factual account.

I would strongly dissuade anyone from using Movecorp to ship goods from Europe or the UK overseas. The time I have spent, the stress I have endured have been significant and I would never use Movecorp again.

I would advise where possible to use a dedicated container, or to have the goods properly packed and/or crated under your supervision. Photograph and document everything assuming you will not see it again and will need to claim for it.

Further review on insurer to come post claim.

Unscrupulous, untrustworthy, dishonest.

These are words that spring to mind to describe the removal company Movecorp. When you reach my age (nearly 80) you will no doubt have moved several times - know what to expect, right? WRONG! Nobody who hasn't had the misfortune to choose Movecorp (Walsall) would believe the depths to which a removal company could sink. Blatant lies, malpractice of the worst kind, disregard for property (my valuable baby grand piano was slid down the stairs as the requested and promised specialist equipment was not provided). Money paid up front in full, goods all packed, after weeks of waiting the day arrived - my return to England after 17 years in France. Passage booked, all things running smoothly. Huge double lorry arrived (impressive) but wait.. what's that? Can't you take much? No space, and a ferry to catch? Tears, pleading - at least come and look. Oh thank you, thank you. You'll look but..
Only take a few items? Those plastic sacks of clothing, bedding, wool etc? Oh and the fridge. No bed? What will I sleep on? Completely bewildered and traumatized, I lock up house, containing all my belongings and leave for France.
Contact Movecorp. What about collecting my stuff still left in France? What's that? You want another £1600 to do so? Plus VAT? Are you not joking? What about if I take you to court? Ah, thought that would change your mind. You'll go back in 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, sometime. Yes, there'll be enough space on the lorry this time. Yes of course also the trolley and braces for the professional handling of the grand piano. No worries, it'll happen this time. Foolishly I believe you. What else can I do, you have my money. In France, you only pay once the goods have been delivered. What a wise system. Hooray, only 5 weeks later, and my goods are due to be delivered. During that time my daughter had to buy a new bed so that at least I could sleep. Hello, what's this? Where are my sideboards, bookshelves, chests of drawers, T.V etc etc etc etc etc? What's that you say? You're telling me I agreed that you could leave them behind? Oh right!! So I'm happy living out of cardboard boxes with all my clothes, books, personal items strewn around on the floor. Wait, if I pay you another £1,200 (I know, plus VAT) you might be persuaded to go back and make a third attempt. ENOUGH. I'm obviously talking to people from another planet. Now what? I know, report them to the removal ombudsman. Simple. They'll sort them out. Get them to come up to standard, or be struck off the register. Ha ha. The removal ombudsman, or should I say ombudswoman? Turns out she's a one-woman show. Answerable to nobody. So not regulated? Surely a situation open to abuse, which to my mind needs investigating. An elusive lady who seldom answers the phone, or reads emails. I thought I was dealing with a full sized official government body designed to protect the public. She was so evidently biased that I had to check on the internet that this was a bona fide organization. Meant to find out who pays her salary. Either very naive, gullible or easily influenced, she swallowed MoveCorps blatant lies as water in a desert. After 5 months of continued plying with emails (with the help of the tradings officer) she vaguely told me "Oh I thought I'd sent you my decision, I'll do it right away." Three weeks later, still no decision. Phone call. "Oh, who are you? No, I haven't seen your recent emails or those from the trading officer. I admit I've been rather overwhelmed recently. Not been well." When I openly challenged her with not reading my account of events concerning Movecorp she made no attempt at denial. Inspires one with confidence, eh? Now, seven months after paying this company to move my goods from France to England, I am still living surrounded by cardboard boxes and about £3000 of my furniture still awaits collection. If all those folk out there with similar experiences of dealing with Movecorp would care to contact me and join my efforts to make this scandalous company accountable for its conduct, please email me. I am also in contact with a reporter at the Express and Star. You might like to let them know of your experiences.

A catalgue of delays and errors.

The removal men did not turn up on the agreed day and as it was a public holiday in the UK so nobody from Movecorp answered the phones or emails. This means we wasted a whole day sat around from 9.00am until 18.00 waiting for removal men who never turned up. The delivery was then not made within the selected one week time slot we had agreed. To add insult to injury we were erroneously charged twice for insurance due to their admin error. A month later they have not credited me for their duplicate payment they charged to my credit card despite emails and phone calls.

Holland to London once again.

Nice and easy. This is the second time I have used Movecorp, first time for a business move to Holland in November 2012 and now my house move back to London, and I cannot fault any of their business structure. The removal teams I have had have been superb, nothing was too much trouble. The packing and unpacking was carried out carefully and quickly, everything placed in the rooms marked on the boxes and all the empty boxes and packing broken down and placed tidily in the garage. The office staff were as efficient as before, questions answered quickly, timetables adhered to and the quote figure given was the figure paid when the contract was completed. I will certainly use them again and would recommend them unreservedly.

Cheating on international move.

Movecorp is trying to cheat me on an international shipment. It is the same scheme described in other reviews on this site. They give a quotation, but once you make the payment and the collection of goods happens, then Movecorp tries to increase the fee by 30% while holding my goods for ransom. I will probably lose my entire shipment, but I intend to report them to the police for theft and fraud. Avoid this unscrupulous lot like the plague.

Scam from start to finish.

Movecorp is unundoubtedly the worst international removal firm that you could find. They have ripped me off from the first day and continue trying to steal more money despite never delivering my goods. They are running a scam whereby the offer a low price to ship your things, then once you agree and pay the fee up front, your things are collected and you never see them again,  unless you are willing to pay numerous additional fees that appear once movecorp are in possession of your items. Even other customers have contacted me for advice after being cheated by this same scam. Avoid movecorp like the plague.

Poor all round!

Movecorp were very poor. The service was so poor to write in detail I have to bullet point it:
1. Misquoted as person on charge came back from long leave and so didn’t know current rates. Upped cost.
2. Misquoted as told me insurances rates changed but in fact they were quoting from wrong item list. Tried to up cost but had to constantly have to correct them.
3. Quoted 8-12 weeks pick up to delivery. It took 6 months!
4. Damaged property and when quoted only paid 50% of value written.
5. Didn’t itemise the property packed. So customs had to delay delivery, possibly having to unpack and itemise the property themselves.
6. Never responded to queries immediately and when done was done with short, unreasoned answers, and no help at all.

In essence, expensive, misquoting, poor customer service, late and poorly handled property!

I have relocated many times and Movecorp has been the worst by far! I would strongly recommend to avoid!

Will not use this company again and definitely cannot recommend.

Our moving process started quite promisingly, in fact right up to collection (and receiving our money) it was actually very good. However, what a different experience after our payment was made. Household goods poorly packed, several significantly valuable items left uncrated. We also arranged and paid for several more crates that were not provided. Company later tried to establish that measurements of furniture we provided were incorrect and so prepared crates could not be used. They then suggested missing crates were seized by Australian customs officials (We contacted Australian Customs - this alleged practice does not occur). We received absolutely NO communication from this company when these alleged "problems" subsequently arose with our shipment to alert us, or help find alternative solutions. We were left to discover a significant list of glaring errors, oversights and omissions ourselves upon delivery of shipment. Manager was less than sympathetic and sometimes did not respond to communications from us. Very frustrating. However, let the following facts speak for themselves: a large insurance claim against Movecorp was eventually settled in our favour… also, additional complaints lodged with UK Moving Ombudsman regarding service issues (after receiving virtually no assistance from Movecorp and making almost no progress towards resolution of our complaints, despite 16 months of patient correspondence), also was quickly settled in our favour. We will never use this company again and definitely will never recommend them. This was an utterly regrettable and highly stressful experience for us. Let the buyer beware!

Horrible Move From Germany to USA.

Moving with Movecorp was a very painful experience. I was moving from Germany to the United States. At first, they were very responsive and I had a good feeling about the whole thing. They asked for a two week window for pickup, so I gave them my last two weeks in Germany, which was the end of January through the first 10 days of February. They then informed me that they couldn't come those two weeks and would be there a week early. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them. They had delays, so then they said they would be there the first week of my two week window. Then they had more delays and would be there the second week of my two week window. A day before I was supposed to leave, they notified me that the truck was full and would be returning to England and would come back a few weeks later. I said I couldn't wait a few weeks because I was leaving the country, so they had a local partner come pick up my stuff and store it until they could pick it up, all at my expense.
Once my stuff had been picked up, the communication got much slower, and I didn't hear anything unless I asked. The container didn't leave England until late June. Once it left England, Schumacher Cargo, an American company, took over. They communicated well, I did have to pay an additional customs fee, but I had no issues with them or with my stuff getting delivered.
Finally, in August, six months after I left Germany, I finally received my things. However, a china dish was cracked, a leg was broken off of a chair, a pot and a bowl were cracked, and some glasses were shattered. I was really only concerned about the china dish and the chair, so I got quotes to repair and/or replace them, and asked for $225, which is only a little more than I had paid for insurance. They said they would only give me the current values that I had on one of the forms I had filled out, which I thought was fair, and this was $76.40. However, there was a nearly $50 policy excess, which no one had mentioned to me before, so my total was down to $27.74. After the $20 transfer fees, I ended up getting $7.74. Needless to say, that didn't cover the costs of the dish or the chair, or even the tacos I had for dinner that night.
Next time, I will choose a company that will do it right.

Damages are not compensated!!

We moved from Germany to Florida USA with this company.
We got open boxes with missing items, furniture's were totally damaged. But despite having an extra insurance we did not get compensated for the loss. Not even on cent was granted. Guess they know that taking it to court is very expensive and time consuming, so hardly someone would do it. So they just disregard the rights of customers. Very disappointing! Not recommended!

International move from Eindhoven, North Brabant to Canterbury, Kent

Left cheated, taken advantage of and robbed.

If you're looking for a professional, reliable, efficient moving company then do not go with Movecorp!

I had to arrange removal and storage of several boxes from Maastricht (NL) to Canterbury (UK). I had contacted Movecorp well in advance of my actual move date in order to overcome any last minute issues. This was particularly important as my move date also meant the end of my tenancy agreement and my permanent departure from the Netherlands.

After having paid for door-to-door collection, I was informed that a confirmed removal date would be passed on nearer to my actual move (20 July).

Prior to me moving, I had to constantly push for information, always emailing and telephoning my contact at Movecorp for information but to little avail. Whenever I asked a question, I would either receive a response beyond a reasonable time of waiting or no answer to my question at all. This was particularly problematic when asking time-sensitive questions as various arrangements had to be made involving third parties as well.

When it came to the actual collection I had received a confirmed date but this kept getting changed at the last minute due to 'unexpected delays.' I was as accommodating as I could be, and even having to allow for collection to take place in my absence (much to my disdain) as the crew would not make it to my address before my departure from the Netherlands. However, even with my patience that collection had been delayed over 4 times - eventually resulting in a failed collection. Of which I was not even informed of until my landlord told me several days later that the crew had simply not come by. When I spoke to my contact at Movecorp I was assured that I would receive an update on what happened and what steps would be taken to rectify the situation - again I had not received such an update until I pushed for it again.

Although Movecorp had later provided a rescheduled collection, it was not in my favour nor a suitable solution to their failed collection. My tenancy agreement had ended and I could no longer leave my things at the property. I asked Movecorp for help with making alternative arrangements for removal of my things from the property and to store them in Maastricht until the rescheduled collection but they had not provided a suitable solution nor given me much assistance. Following this I had to cancel my agreement with Movecorp.

I was told I would not get any refund as collection had been attempted but failed, and the rescheduled collection was Movecorp's so-called 'remedy.' However, I feel that the collection failed because Movecorp kept changing the dates and giving excuses as to why things kept changing.

I feel cheated and taken advantage of because I am paying for a service that had not happened. I was constantly reassured that there was nothing to worry about when clearly Movecorp had little control of the situation. When faced with an obstacle or difficult situation I feel that it was handled very unprofessionally as I was constantly left in the blue about information and updates (even after demanding better and more reliable communication, which was promised to me afterwards). I also feel that there was a severe lack in due diligence, care, and empathy. Movecorp knew that I was leaving the country (well in advance of my proposed collection date) thus they should have been better prepared in handling my case and accommodating to my circumstances when given the opportunity to do so.

Overall, although Movecorp tried they simply weren't up to par. I have lost a lot of money (for a student) on what turned out to be a massive waste of time. So unless you're okay with months of one-sided communication and hundreds of pounds on a move, that might not even happen, then by all means hire Movecorp.

Movecorp are a very caring, professional and efficient service.

I found that from the very beginning the co ordinator Michelle kept me informed and up to date on everything related to my move from Belgium to the U.K. In a very prefiessional, efficient and friendly way. The cost of the moveand the insurance was by far the most competent I've quote I found out of several other companies. The support from Michelle and the crew who moved my belongings was just amazing - they helped with every aspect of my move. The moving crew packed my belongings carefully, professionally and very efficiently. This whole experience with Movecorp was truly as stress and problem free as one could hope for.

Simple, quick and efficient!

Great experience with movecorp moving from Switzerland to the U.K. From the start, Carly-Anne was very friendly and helpful, and always quick to respond to my queries. The guys (Lee and Chris) that came to physically move our things were really polite, fast workers who took good care of everything they moved. The lorry was really well packed and not a single bit of damage was received at the other end. Always happy to recommend MoveCorp, they’ve moved us three times now and I’ve had a good experience each time.

Held to Randsom.

My move was from Milan, Italy to Scotland, the men that picked up my belongings were fantastic. I had paid for 420 sq ft, £2350.00 in advance, the head man on the truck said I was within the limit of 420 sq. feet, as did my friend who has a Degree in Applied Science, and Finance. They picked my belongings up the 18th October 2013, which was fine I was leaving on the 30th, and had booked a storage unit in Scotland. I arrived and my belongings were still in Birmingham, basicaly I was held to randsom, they now said it was 580 sq. ft. and to get my stuff I had to fork out another almost £800 pounds.I finaly received my belongings on the 14th November. The Scottish company that delivered my stuff said they had had many complaints about Movecorp. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, my heart goes out to the truck drivers who were so good, they deserve to work for a better company. I must add I did the packing myself with rienforced boxes and hired a hoist at  the cost of €400, basicaly the men took my stuff from the pavement to the truck. Judge by yourselves from my experience.

Scam Company.

Be aware this company MOVECORP is a pure scam, they don't know what they are doing. Once they pick up your goods nothing is under control.. If you send anything to a foreign country they are unable to confirm any delivery address, delivery time and will ask you for more money if any intermediary is asking for more tax on the way.  They will even blackmail you if you don't pay.. Never again..

Lie after lie after lie.

This company are compulsive lairs. They give you an estimate then increase by 150%, they do not show up on time and blame you and deny that that they ever give you a time. Tell you that they are not mind readers and dismiss the documentation that they ask you to fill in and say not valid against the work they quote and then take full payment for.

The push back on you for the failings of there mismanagement begin to charge additional charges as a way trying to resolve issues, they must have a warehouse full taken hostage till they get whatever amount of money they deem they should receive which has never been discussed nor has it been agreed. It does not matter whatever you say or prove to them what was actually discussed and agreed. They just ask for more money and blame you. DO NOT USE they are compulsive liars.
