Fantastic Removals

I use van couriers all the time and these people are BY FAR the worst I’ve ever come across. They damaged my items and bashed all the freshly decorated walls all the way up 3 floors. Even though it was a very wide staircase. The items were also damaged beyond repair.

When I complained and asked how I would be compensated he got extremely aggressive and insisted I pay the full amount and refused to give me their insurance details. I said I was happy to pay for the job but asked for £40 off the total of £215, despite the costs to me being over £800.

Instead of discussing the issue, he threatened me and took a load of my items, put them in his van and drove off with them.

Basically STOLE them.

They are now asking for full payment, plus £40 to return the stolen items, plus £30 a night to store the items they stole from me!! They don’t answer the phone. Just ask for the full amount by text and threaten to destroy my items if I don’t pay.

They refuse to accept any responsibility, even claiming we did the damage ourselves!

THEY ARE TOTAL CROOKS, LIARS AND BULLIES, I ended up going to the police and will pursue costs legally. But it’s been a total nightmare.

Also as a woman, I would say that they probably wouldn’t have treated a man like that. Horrible bullies. Also their Facebook page has a similar review - stolen items and bad behaviour.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: £225

I used this removals company to help me move all my things to the new apartment I rented even though it was just 20 minutes away. I had so many items that it would have took me an entire day to carry everything. These handy guys helped me transport all my belongings at once, without me having to worry about lifting heavy stuff and struggling with boxes. Fantastic Removals saved me a lot of time and effort and their team were very kind and friendly the whole time. Very good removals company and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

We had our move over 3mobths ago, the service was appalling, they lost all our furniture fittings, they never finished the job, they dumped all boxes into one room, wanted to charge me for extra days when everything should have been completed within 2 days and only offered £100 discount (broken items equated to over £600).

They would not come back to rectify the issues or replace broken items.

As a result they have threatened to take me court if I don’t make payment!

Payment made, court proceedings, trading standards process to begin this week..

Service cost: £762

Removal company seemed ok at the beginning, paid £1170 plus an extra £50 for some extra insurance as we have glass furniture, removal van broke down on the day (that can happen anytime) they got here in the end, when we unwrapped all our glass furniture three items were broken, smashed/cracked, when we made a claim with photos that they asked for they said they wasn’t paying out because in their terms & conditions they never wrapped it, everything was bubble wrapped by professional wrappers, I emailed them back explaining I didn’t think this was fair, as I also had to hire a van the day after because they couldn’t get everything in their vans, the van cost me £100 + £50 diesel, as of yet they’ve not even responded to me, company seemed very genuine but let there selves down big time, I paid them £1220 & they couldn’t even be bothered to reply to my emails, best I leave it there.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: £1220

Fantastic Removals turned up on the day, but then decided the parking available was not close enough to do the job. They only needed to move the contents of a one bed flat 100 meters down the road, but after an hour of them complaining about parking (despite being directly opposite my front door) they decided to cancel the job and left me stranded on my moving day without having moved a box. They drove off while I was trying to discuss a solution with their manager over the phone. They refunded the job, but the outcome was not acceptable. I ended up using another company who completed the job without any issues.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Flat Service cost: £200

My friend who is blind used Fantastic Removals to move from her one bedroom flat in Battersea to a flat in Canary Wharf. She booked the service for 3 hours which was sufficient as she didn’t have much stuff. I was there on the day to help her. Three removal men arrived and we explained what needed to be moved. They started but were extremely slow and were moving at a snails pace. We left them after about two hours to make our way to the Canary Wharf in an Uber - the journey took an hour. However the Removal men didn’t arrive until 4 hours later. My friend made numerous calls to the company but they kept just saying they were on their way. When they arrived they came to the flat but disappeared for another 2 hours and then took another 2/3 hours to bring the furniture to the flat. My friend was assured that she wouldn’t be charged more than the agreed price but she received a text when the job was finished charging her 3x what had been agreed. I can only conclude that they took advantage of her because of her disability. It was a very stressful and shocking experience.

My friend did complain to the company but they have been very unhelpful.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Flat Service cost: 600

We saved ourselves a lot of hassle hiring this firm to take care of our move to Barnet in the last month. Of course, we were completely aware that having someone to help us would definitely be more convenient than dealing with the packing, loading, unloading, etc.Each member of the team worked hard and we strongly appreciated how carefully they were handling our possessions. There were no unpleasant surprises with broken or missing items at the end - everything arrived in one piece. I'd recommend them unreservedly.

Service cost: £172

This company simply called me the day before I was going to move to another flat asking me if I wanted to reschedule the service because they wouldn't be doing it on the day that I had booked! Apparently this was because of the cycling event that was going to happen in London that weekend, which, contrary to what was affirmed by the saleswoman, would NOT affect my area. So it was that I called another removal company and they had no problem in doing the removal service (which, by the way, was extremely professional and efficient and was cheaper than what I would have been charged by "Fantastic" Removals. The company should have at least anticipated itself and not called their customers at 4:00pm on the day before and simply expect them to reschedule the service - people have commitments and I had to leave my apartment on the day that I had booked the service for. What if I could not find another company to provide the removal service? I had to call 3 other companies in order to get it for the next day. It's totally unacceptable! First and last time that I use (or try to use, as it was the case) any service offered by this company.

Used Fantastic cleaners a number of times before and received excellent service so decided to use them for removals. Little did I know they outsource the removals under the 'fantastic' name. I ordered delivery and packing services and confirmed 2 people for each service. Despite numerous phone calls to confirm the service, 2 guys turn up half an hour late, instead of 4, and they say they'll complete the work in 8 hours instead of 4. What?! That's not what I ordered and that's not what was confirmed. I ring to find out what's going on, then blow my top when they say they hadn't confirmed 4 people at all, and offer to send people the next day. Again, what?! They allegedly check phone records and then call me to confirm they never agreed 4 people insinuating I lied. In the meantime, the two guys are sitting around coz they've been asked not to start work and their employer threatens to cancel the service. While hour is wasted before they start work.
Took the whole day to just transfer home contents - no packing/unpacking service is provided - they have the nerve to offer a minuscule discount on a higher hourly rate than what was quoted. oh, and they damaged my chromecast! To be fair, the workers were ok, but I received the worst customer service imaginable. Horrendous experience on one of the most stressful days!
