Unfortunately, I had terrible experience with them. In the quote I had received there was clearly written that the guys would have removal's equipment (navigation, trolley, piano dolly) and item protection. Nothing of that was in place, the guys had to move all our boxes by hand one by one, slowing down the entire moving. Moreover, our furniture were not protected and, as result, they scratched and damaged some of them. When I complaint about that, sharing clear pictures, the answer I was given was 'it's just a scratch', apparently in their way of working having a scratched cabinet in the living room is normal. Also, when my TV stand was brought in the new house, I noticed some footprint on it, which means they walked on it. After the very first complaint they started to ignore me completely. In addition, I was told they would have wore PPE and covered their shoes or floor to protect the carpet, they did not have any PPE and I had to complaint over the phone to make sure they would have covered the carpet in the new house. As said, no equipment at all, which slowed down the entire moving. If you are looking for a very professional service, avoid this Company at all cost, especially if you don't want to have your furniture scratched and damaged, or if you don't want someone walking on them.

I was moving from England to Portugal and I have some furniture to be moved. Since the beginning of the process until the delivery at home in Portugal the team at Helpful Movers was amazing in all process. It was a quick and easy process with not many bureaucracies and very straight forward. Since the first contact until I got my furniture delivered it was less than a week. I compared the price with other companies and this was the best. I recommend and will use Helpful Movers in the future again.

Service cost: £350

I wouldn't even give them one star but there is nothing less. How ridiculous they are. I have booked for my removal today. They confirmed it and they arrived half an hour late and they left without doing the job because they told me that their office have not told them that my flat was on 3rd floor without a lift. They assured me that the company will send one more person to help them and they left. Of course the company never called me back. When I tried to call them it was always an answering machine. I had to vacate my flat today and they left me in a horrible position. This is how professional they are. What a shame! They must ban them from trading.

An extremely disappointing job due to an unprofessional Team lead. He appeared to deliberately take longer than the quoted time of 6hrs to only complete the job in 8.5hrs, constantly reminding me that I’ll have to pay for every hour over the designated time. Some furniture was not even moved, tools were left lying all over the house (my tools as they did not bring their own), team lead was on his phone constantly or heading to the shop and tried to charge me additional fees for packaging. Damage was done to some of my furniture as well as to the property itself. The quote of packing and removal was a waste as I ended up having to assist with both tasks which was not part of the agreement. After calling the manager and complaining, I was not charged for any additional packaging or for the additional hours worked Will not use this company again and will certainly not recommend them.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: £780

Helpful Movers quoted me for a 5.5 tonne truck. On moving day we were then told our BBQ and wardrobe would not fit in, and we would need to pay £750 for a second van.

The 5.5 tonne truck quote came from the MD of the company visiting my property and making this assessment based on the furniture we had.

After he made that assessment, we actually threw out a large number of items we didn’t need anymore including chairs and drawers, but still the truck wasn’t large enough on moving day.

The company also provided us two workers when quoting three, and they did not have the equipment quoted such as piano dollys etc.

I have tried to request a partial refund to cover the cost of the items, but have been told no. They have told me “unexpected items” were at our household, but despite me asking several times they have not been able to confirm what they are.

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: £2050

Movers arrived 1 hour 35 minutes late in a van which they could not open, they were so disorganised I missed my flat check in. Ended up moving furniture with them to speed up. The boss Yassif then threatned not to leave my house if I did not pay the qouted amount. I wanted to negotiate due to the awful customer service and the equipment noted on the original quote (unloading trolleys) were never in the van. Yassif and Madi were threatening and did not listen to me over the phone. Avoid at all costs.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £250

We used Helpful Movers to move a 2 bedroom flat to our new house. During the day the van broke, so we had to wait hours for a solution. Eventually we bought starting cables ourselves to get going. Also the amount was wrongly estimated so we had to drive twice, for which they wanted to charge us a lot. During the move our antique table got severely damaged. 6 weeks later we are still awaiting a response from Helpful Movers to get this solved. The moving men were helpful, but all contractors working for different companies or doing other jobs. Really unprofessional overall. Next time I would pay a little more to get a reliable service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £750

Helpful movers were prompt professional and made moving completely stress free.
Administration staff too were most pleasant and efficient.
I was being let down by another company who changed their quotes three times and kept changing the requirements for number of vans.
But once I contacted Helpful movers they promptly supplied one fixed price and promised to move everything with sufficient number of manpower.
On the day of the move we helped too to assist a very friendly staff.
Overall a good company' in my opinion.

Service cost: £575

Helpful movers offered a great service to help us with our move. They were prompt, efficient and good guys. They came the day before to do the packing and did this with care and diligence.
On move day they were on top of things on all times and had everything sorted and into the van well ahead of the time we needed to be out of the house (130pm). Unfortunately due to delays in the sale day chain we were delayed nearly three hours getting keys and didn't get these until about 4.45pm Friday afternoon.
Due to the delay we agreed overtime with the team (understood as it was Friday evening) and Helpful Movers moved all our stuff in and built all furniture as agreed on Friday. They didn't leave until 9PM and show certainly demonstrated commitment to the cause. They also helpfully arranged to come back and collect the move boxes the day after.
I would recommend these guys.

Service cost: £1582

Yasir and his team did a great job packing our entire flat and moving us from London to Oxford. When I requested a quote, he came the same day to assess what boxes, van and equipment were needed. His team of 3 arrived the morning of the move, and packed our stuff in 3.5 hours. They were very careful with our belongings, and used plenty of packaging with valuables. They disassembled our furniture and reassembled it in Oxford. He also arranged a cleaning service including a carpet shampoo for the old flat. Great job!

Yasir and his assistant were indeed helpful, courteous and very careful. They took great trouble to ensure my move [3 bed house - moving out of London] went smoothly. They did everything they said they would and did it when they said they would. It was a pleasure dealing with Helpful Movers - they took the stress out of the chaos other people caused - if only everyone would do their jobs as well as these guys.

Helpful Movers were fast, good on price and flexible. Nothing was damaged at all. Lovely people too.

From the outset, Mr Madi was very helpful in guiding us through the moving process and gave us a very competitive quote. He was attentive to our requests, including postponing the move at short notice.

On the day of the move, Helpful Movers arrived on time with the right number of people and vehicles for the move. They completed the move efficiently (3 bedroom house moved in 3 hours) while taking excellent care of fragile and valuable items. The moving crew were friendly and put in a lot of effort including disassembling and reassembling furniture and moving heavy boxes up stairs.

Overall, Madi and Helpful Movers made our move much easier and we would highly recommend them.

I've used this company now on three occasions and they've always done everything on time, without any issue, and in a very timely manner. If you know exactly what you need, and you get a quote, I've found you get a good and very efficient response. It's also good value compared to other firms. On a recent (550 mile) UK delivery, they gave a very competitive price and the team were especially helpful and polite when they (eventually) arrived in the North of Scotland.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: £1500

I booked 2 men for 2 hours for moving 1 bedroom to an address that was 2 mins drive. I didn't have any large items apart from a couch which was dismantled already, boxes and a computer desk. From the beginning they complained that they were not going to be able to make it within 2 hours and that they didn't know the flats were located on the 3rd floor (although this was communicated in writing to the person that took the booking). The driver was spending more time pretending to arrange stuff in the van (for loading and then for unloading) than actually doing work. Both men were constantly asking for assistance with carrying (from me and my friend who was helping as well). In the end, me and my friend ended up, most probably, doing more work than "helpful movers" to make sure that they won't overcharge. I did complain to the person who made the booking, who said that he's going to investigate, but he never came back to me. Overall bad attitude, unprofessional (they were asking personal questions - like reason for moving, how much will the rent be etc.), carrying things half way, slow, lazy, defiant, not listening to instructions. Worst £180 spent...

I booked these guys to help pack and move into my new home. It was a last minute move and I've got a 1 year old baby and 2 year old toddler, so not that much chance to prepare on my side. The service I received was absolutely terrible, really shockingly bad. When they showed up they were a bit curt and rude, but I paid no notice at first, as I hadn't booked them for their conversation. The packing was disastrous. None of the big furniture items were wrapped/protected. Drawers and doors weren't secured. Items, including clearly fragile items and open containers, were just thrown into boxes. At first I thought they were just incompetent, but it got to the point where I think it was actually malicious. Furniture was repeatedly banged and dropped causing damage to the items and the property. They were that bad that one of them actually managed to seriously hurt himself. When it came to the actual move, it transpired that they had actually missed an entire room (the kitchen, not some hidden cupboard). They were already way behind on schedule, and they had already caused so much damage that I decided to deal with the kitchen myself and let them crack on. It took them more than 2 hours to make the 30 minutes journey. The unloading was equally as chaotic with stuff being bashed and dropped, and they repeatedly ignored requests to put boxes in specific rooms, choosing instead the nearest ones. They were extremely unprofessional, asking lots of personal questions and having a really long winded chat with someone that they bumped into off the street. All in all an appalling dreadful experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Really heartbreaking to see your stuff being so badly mishandled.
