Clockwork Removals & Storage

This is the third time I have used Clockwork in the past 12 months or so and they have provided an excellent service both from a customer satisfaction point of view and value. It has been a bonus that there has been some overlap with the porters doing the work each time, as this meant some familiarity with the premises and items to be moved. The Stevens (Baxter and Johnston) were prompt, cheery and efficient and went out of their way to help especially when taking out some of the old furniture to the tip. I will certainly use them again if/when I move next time.

Service cost: £750

Only one wee moan,.. I asked that some rather valuable oil paintings were wrapped separately. This did not happen. Thankfully they were not damaged. Otherwise everything from Clockwork was great. China and Glass were all carefully wrapped and there were no breakages. The Team were stoic, especially having to deal with a 3 hour delay in the selling solicitors releasing the keys for the new house as, they took an extended Friday lunch! Clockwork managed to divert another crew who were heading home, to come and speed up the unloading. Well done guys!
My son about to move too so will definitely recommend Clockwork.

Raj and his team, Stuart and Ronnie, were excellent. They introduced themselves to me on arrival in a very friendly manner. I was moving from a house to a flat and only taking a few items. The two other parts of the removal were going to my daughters homes. One in Kent, and the other part was going into storage for removal to Belgium. So not straight forward. However, Raj listened carefully and coordinated effortlessly the move. My furniture and other belongings were handled very carefully and with great care and attention to my homes. The team worked so well together and constantly checked with me to ensure everything was being put in the right container. On arrival at my flat they then picked up a table and chairs destined for one of my daughters. This they also did so professionally. At completion I was given paperwork itemising what was in each container being transported elsewhere, namely three. Each container was marked externally with its destination. The other part of the paperwork for each container will be signed off by my daughters. That reassured me as well as it will be a team elsewhere completing that part. All in all I was extremely satisfied with the wonderful professional service of clockwork and will recommend them to anyone I know looking to move.

The packing was not completed in first day hence on moving day everything was delayed until dark with newborn and toddler.. lovely .

I said everything must go out so I do not understand why was left for moving day.

This is nothing but then they tried to hide a damaged wardrobe in the back with some tape. Luckily I send rmIl in time . My partner asked and they said oh just put some tape to hide it .

Then discovered after two weeks one bicycle had damaged cables brake cable just removed torn from where they should be and was told claim within 7 days . Later than that is too late .

Whom can check all these things within a few days of moving day ? while one working full time and the other looking after two little children.

In the end I think I spent insurance for nothing

Having chosen Clockwork based on two friends' recommendations. We feel very let down by the standard of service we received. We have been left with an unusable broken Ercol solid oak bedframe, badly scratched Ercol bedside table, and a number of unsuitably packed items, including toilet brushes being put unbagged into a box containing fabric items and children's bath toys. Most disappointing was the damage to the bedframe which as far as we can see must have knowingly occurred during dismantling by the team. Because the broken parts had been snapped off the frame and then sealed in plastic for the move already broken.

We completed a move from London to Oxfordshire using the Wimbledon Branch.

From start to finish Clockwork provided a first class service.

The quote was the best we had from any reputable firm. The sales and administrative staff were polite, flexible and responsive. When we needed to make changes to our work order these were accepted without the attempts to levy additional charges you often see from other companies.

The removal team were very efficient, considerate and polite. They took on extra tasks which we had missed without question or complaint.

We would certainly use Clockwork again for future moves and would recommend to others.

We obtained several quotes and Clockworks price was very competitive. We booked them because the chap who carried out the site visit took the time to chat to us and go through our concerns.
On the day of the move the porters arrived bang on time and were like machines! We had tea, coffee and plenty of biscuits on hand to keep them happy but they didn't stop long enough to enjoy them.
We opted for them to pack the fragile bits and take some furniture apart (and reassemble) which they did brilliantly.
I can't recommend these guys enough, friendly, professional and efficient!!

This should really be two reviews - one for the hard-working and nice crew who did the actual work and made the move happen, and another for the company headquarters who provided misleading or inadequate information throughout the process.

The crew who handled the actual 3 days of moving were all polite, careful, and appreciative of any assistance, food or drink we provided. But the Clockwork Removals Front Office provided misleading information throughout the process. For example - I emphasized to both Robert, the Surveyor, and Luke, the Sales Coordinator, that the most critical part of our move was to safely and carefully move my large collection of original oil paintings. They both assured me that the team would be briefed and prepared - which was completely untrue. All that the team knew, and was prepared for, came from a single line on their Crew Sheet - "Wrap TV, pictures, and mirrors."

The crew also had to ask us about the move plan - how long and what had we paid for. We had to show them the contract - the move was scheduled for three days, and we had paid for the "Full Unpacking Service and Removal of Packing Materials" as opposed to simple "Unpack to Surfaces". Their crew sheet did not have even those two vital pieces of information, and no one at the company had briefed them.

In addition, the number of people that Robert indicated would do the work was misleading. Only two people showed up the first day for the packing (we needed that to properly pack the paintings), and they admitted to us that it was unknown how many would come the next day - they said that it could be three, but they needed five. Four came, and worked extremely hard.

Other small issues - I signed up for everything offered by the company, including their extra insurance. But I couldn't get any info on what it covered and what it didn't cover, how claims would be made, etc. Also surprising was that there was no follow-up - the company never contacted us again to ask how it went, or even if the move had happened.
