Aussie Man and Van

After many years managing my own moves around London to try to save money, and after a bad experience with another company, I wish I'd found this team sooner. They were recommended by friends of ours and worked out better value than hiring the van myself - plus I didnt have to do any of the heavy lifting. The two guys (real Aussies) that managed my move on 3rd December were exceptional. Friendly, efficient and really hard working, plus they showed great care with my possessions.

I'll recommend them to anyone I meet.

They were absolutely brilliant. Chris came and packed the day before and was incredibly efficient, really helpful and great to get along with. He was joined by Richard and another colleague for the move and they were also really polite and very helpful.

I felt the service was good value for money compared to other quotes I received and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future or recommend them to friends and family.

Service cost: £1700

Aussie Man & Van are a company that can be described as nothing other than clumsy, unprofessional and unreliable! The team managed to get all of my belongings wet after leaving my whole collection of boxes and bags outside in the road when it started to rain. They then rushed to compile the whole contents of my home in to my new property and ended up dropping some of my boxes, which just happened to include some of my more valuable and breakable items in them. The whole move was a disaster thanks to the staff at Aussie Man & Van. I only hope that some good can come out of this monstrosity.

Be careful , we are having an ongoing nightmare with this company and its alleged insurers. Dont be taken in by the friendly banter on the phone, underlying this is a completely callous disregard for their customers.
First of all we were overcharged, that was ok I guess as we were repaid. What was not ok was the loss/theft of a number of our boxes with a value of £4000 after only 10 days storage. No proper inventory was taken, one recovered item was found left in the van. However we are still missing the main items, after refusing a insulting offer to settle at 1/4 of the value of the items, we were put in the hands of their insurers who have spent the last three weeks ignoring all our calls and emails. The only correspondence was to ask for paper work that was sent in already.
Be very careful the "Can Do" attitude does not extend to when things go wrong. We are left ignored, missing precious and valuable items and facing the prospect of taking them to Court to recover our loss.

I can't speak to the negative reviews, but this move was an amazing one for me. This is the friendly customer service I'm used to (being from Canada and the US), but we'd been burnt by so many rude London companies that we didn't expect this level here. The movers were professional in their appearance and behaviour, the service was prompt, and they both dismantled my furniture and resassembled it at the new location. We had box collection included, so we simply rang a number when we had done the rest of the unpacking and someone came to take the garbage away. Nice and easy. Loved it. .

A friend of mine recommended Aussie the day before I planned to move house myself. I weighed up the cost of renting a van from street van and pulling in some favours for helpers and decided I would get some proffesionals in to do the job. the hourly rate seemed quite high at first but I didn't realise how much faster the guys from Aussie would work than I would. I then got the added bonuses of not having to move a muscle and nothing being broken. After using Aussie I don't think my days of moving my own home are over!

Great guys Mark and Terrance. (Terrance was actually from New Zealand) Worked their cotton socks off all day and did a great job. They obviously knew their job really well and did not hang around.
The guys brought boxes and tape which we needed as inevitably we had more staff than we thought we had!
Arrived on time and got straight down to work and we were surprised how quickly the guys loaded the van. As we were on a hourly rate we were worried how long the move would take, but they were so quick and whilst being careful. Nothing was broken.
Definitely will recommend to our friends and will use gain in the future if we move again.
Payment and receipts were all well dealt with by the administrative team to finish off a hassle free day which can be a nightmare if you pick the wrong people.
Loved the really cool van they came in with all the Aussie stuff on it. fab.

Aussie Man & Van Removals moved us from London to Winchester in a day for £1800 and did it professionally and efficiently. We changed our move date 1/2 dozen times and Aussie never had a problem with that. We moved contents from a 3 bedroom house and filled a 14 truck. They carefully packed our entire kitchen including delicate crockery & glassware. They even moved fragile pot plants and a heavy piano (no re-tuning required). They worked solidly for 12 straight hours, deconstructing and rebuilding furniture. They didn't break a single thing. They were a 1/3 of the quoted price of clockwork removals.

We can only say thank you guys. Excellent service and value for money. Highly recommended!

We used them to move flats which was a mistake.  The guys turned up on time but were inexperienced and struggled with big iitems. They literally forced the sofa through the door with their feet which ripped and scuffed the leather as they failed to cover it properly. They also managed to rip the light fittings out of the ceiling in their efforts as well as the expected damage to walls from clumsiness when carrying boxes down stairs.  When we got to our destination the TV was damaged as it hadn't been secured in their van. They got lost en route and charged us for the additional time it took because they missed the turn off/failed to read the map.  They also had hidden charges added which were not on the quote. They claim to be fully insured but repeatedly refused to give us their insurance deals to make a claim for the damage they caused and ignored our complaints, letters and phone calls. The guys are friendly enough and helpful when unloading but the company overall is a cowboy company. I wouldn't trust or recommend them to anyone.

An appalling rip-off cowboy outfit that I would recommend you avoid at all costs.  
I don't normally feel angry enough to leave feedback but the bare-faced cheek of this company has left me no choice.
 
I used this company to move a bed from a flat to a storage unit in London.  They also had to move a very small amount of other stuff.  I was unable to accompany them as I was out of the country.  A job that was supposed to take 2hours MAXIMUM ( at £180) and involved travelling times of 15 minutes, took 5 hours and cost more that double the original quote.  In total £450 to move a bed 20 minutes across town.  The company all show a complete lack of urgency in dealing with my concern that I have been ripped off.   An appalling rip-off cowboy outfit that I would recommend you avoid at all costs.

Appalling from A to Z. I used that company a couple of years ago, and was very happy with them: fast, friendly, honest, price competitive, helpful. Times have clearly changed since they went into liquidation early this year, and this is an entirely new company /new management, leveraging on the good image they had to attract customers and make the most out of them. My personal experience was that everything was done to inflate the final bill through various techniques, and overall I seriously feel ripped off. £650 for 6 hours of 'work' at £90 per hour plus a few boxes for a very simple one-bed flat furniture swap between my place in London and a storage at 15mn drive distance on a day without traffic. Was initially charged 8 hours (gives you an idea of the pace), which came down to 6 after a very painful negotiation involving consistent absence of response to emails, rude people on the phone, playful use of my debit card - all in all the impression of being taken for a ride from start to finish. Move itself was not only extremely skillfully slow, it was also done in a very unprofessional and unpleasant manner. They didn’t even have tape or bubble wrap to protect fragile items on the day, packing in the storage was not only horribly long but absolutely terrible. Unless you are training to become a Buddhist Zen Monk or a stand-up comedian - please believe me: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The drivers were on time, but we were shocked by the small size of the truck. The new house was only 15min drive away and they had estimated a 4 hours move with a total of 53 boxes amongst 8 big ones. The move was estimated at 4 hours. The only issue is that with this number of boxes we managed to fill 2.5 times the truck because it was far too small.  The driver had to drive back and forth to the property.. The initial 4 hours became an ordeal of 8 1/2 hours invoiced 9 hours. Total cost bit less than 1200£ to move only a 60m2 flat to a bigger one 15min away. Thank you Aussie Man and the Van!

We are very please with Aussie service. Since my first contact with Billie at the office ( with Paul and Richard as well.) The team that did the move was great. On time, had a look on our stuff( we packed ourselves) asked what they had to take or leave. At destination asked where we wanted things to have placed. They were very friendly, kind, calm and professional. Carl and the other man( I can rememder his name) took care of our things very well. Really was a stress free. Fast and efficient. Thank you and we will use Aussie again if need for sure.

An absolute no - like never use this company if you cherish your items or you care about their safety. However, if you want them to be damaged or your clothes to be soaked in the rain while being moved from one place to the other, then Aussie are the guys for you. A nightmare of a moving this is what their service is. Not a cheap one but you get the cheapest attitude and resolve of you "issue" as they didn't care enough about my damages as they were just clothes - some of that stuff cost more than the van they came with - at least costed until the aussi man and van ruined them.

Huge misrepresentation from the start.

Booked a last minute removal and was grateful that they had a space so started out well, and that was to be the end of anything positive.

After the men were already half an hour late I called the office to see what was going on, apparently they were around the corner and they arrived 10 minutes later although minus the actual van as they "could not find parking". The address was a main road in central london which allows loading all day, so utterly ridiculous and they obviously hadn't even bothered looking. So an hour after the time they were supposed to be there they came and started to move. Had they have been able to speak english they would have understood the directions which I had given them on the items that needed to be taken, as it happened they took one large item that wasn't supposed to be taken and left one behind.

I have no idea what took them so long to pack the van! I have lots of experience with moving and this was by far the longest and most expensive for what was being moved. When they eventually left for the forwarding address the complications continued with them not being able to find the address, I believe they were in the vicinity for over an hour trying to look for it during which time I was receiving calls from both the office and the private phone numbers of the men, during what was already extremely stressful day.

I didn't expect to be charged extra (they first of all tried even to charge me for returning the item they took by mistake and told me I would have to pay extra for them to take the item they forgot, ) but they tried to charge my card fr the extra without informing me.

I wouldn't have l bothered to leave this review, but I have just received a phone call from them and will still have to make a small payment. After all that went wrong I can't understand how they justify this, amount paid is after "discount".

I could go on, but honestly I just don't want to waste any more time with these people.

there are so many other removal companies out there with a more competent and less expensive service, save yourself the stress and money and use one of those!

They were excellent from start to finish.

The first day I had 3 men in a Luton van. They arrived on time, packed everything up, worked like dogs, were super friendly and then left. The next day I had 2 x men and a Luton van was charged by the hour. They again worked very hard all day stopping for an hour lunch (which obviously they didn't charge for). You do get charged for travelling time to your site.

Throughout the 2 days they offered to help with anything and I'd thoroughly recommend.
