Long-distance move from Maidstone, Kent to Maidstone, Kent

Warning!!

WARNING: Booked house move with anyvan with collection between 9-10am.
By 1005 no one had arrived so I called them to find out when the driver would arrive, only to be told they had no driver!! We have to vacate the house this weekend and now, no removal company!! I had confirmation of the booking and arrival time and anyvan had my contact details. So why not contact me? So use this useless company at your peril - totally unprofessional with little concern about the impact on thier customers
if they breach the contract. Luckily I have managed to find another company (local) who told me they had previously had to bail out other anyvan customers! Your choise, your risk!

Long-distance move from Maidstone, Kent to Edinburgh, Midlothian

Rubbish service.

A big Warning if considering Anyvan.com
If you are moving furniture or items long distance your items are likely to be part of several loads that particular driver is doing that day and they will be loaded with other people's goods.
In itself this is not a problem but it significantly increases the chance that something can go wrong
Your goods are extremely unlikely to be collected then delivered by the shortest route. Because drivers have a schedule they seem to stick to ridiculously tightly and they will load as much aspossible you are likely to see yout tracked items going from Maidstone down to Brighton to Reading to London then Nottingham to Penrith to Glasgow to Motherwell to Edinburgh when the obvious route is just onto the M25,A1 and Edinburgh.
They are also likely to be unloaded from one van, stored and then loaded onto another van with yet more peoples goods.
Again, in itself these do not make Anyvan rubbish but they also increase the chances of something going wrong.
The drivers seem to be outsourced to another company reducing the control you or Anyvan have over them.
Again, in itself these do not make Anyvan rubbish but they also increase the chances of something going wrong
The drivers are in my experience not that intelligent, by chance happen to be not so conversant in english and in one part of my experience deviously attempted to clak that they had delivered everything when one rather large piece of furniture had manifestly not been
Again, in itself these do not make Anyvan rubbish but they also increase the chances of something going wrong
Their customer service callcentre are not much use and try to fob you off into negotiating with the drivers as to when your stolen items can be returned rather than chasing it up themselves and making serious efforts to push them to put something right.
For example when a large piece in my order had been delivered to a house in the east midlands they were happy to believethe driver was going to the door and not finding anyone in-as though that on its ownwas sufficiently serious attempts to retrieve something all the calamitous nature of their delivery made practically inevitable ( something going "missing").
It took a lot of phoning, several times being "accidentally" cut off and then no call being answered for ages and a crime report to the Metropolitan Police (their main office is in London) before they got their act together and started taking the need to do something seriously.
So would I use them again.
Absolutely Not. Do not touch them unless you are content for things to go missing and you have to make all the effort to get them back.
A seriously poor service and a threat to the security and undamaged condition of your goods and a customer service which is shamelessly mendacious. At the last minute they will also try to change your order with some rubbish about their driver having "viehicle problems" when they just don't fancy taking the job
Disgraceful company.

First Class Service.

I arranged for a carpet to be moved over Christmas and New year as the company I ordered from did not have a driver available to deliver my items. I went onto the website quickly entered all the details and within minutes my phone pinged with quotes. I received a brilliant quote messaged the driver to confirm he was free next day which was all good and paid the deposit. Driver then called to confirm the job as promised and collected the next day, he was very polite and courteous and kept me well informed. I would not hesitate to use Any Van again fabulous service at short notice.

Bad experience.

Our Anyvan experience: Panic, disbelief, frustration, not valued, patronised and disappointed.
Do not make the mistake we made. Paying to book a specific date, weeks in advance, did not mean we could TRUST Anyvan to guarantee an allocated driver.
We were let down, at short notice, in a very unprofessional manner.
Subsequent phone calls and emails to Anyvan have been interesting and frustrating. We now have a refund and also a compensation payment of the same amount. However, this has taken Anyvan ten working days.

We cannot recommend Anyvan.

Quick, nice and professional service.

I was moving 1 on suite-bedroom.
Drivers were on time. They were friendly and helpful.
The moving went very smooth, very fast and stress-free. All my items remained undamaged.
The customer service was amazing, you can call or talk by chat.
The price seems to be fair.
They go up the more itmes you have, the higher floor you live on, if you require 2 drivers/helpers instead of 1 and the later you book but the price was still good, I think. I added some extra boxes on the day of moving and I didn't break my bank :)

I would strongly reccomend!

Terrible and stressful experience.

My wife booked this for between 8am and 12 noon. Van driver Richard didn't turn up. Other driver arrived after 5pm and most of our listed items were by this time in front garden or downstairs. He was professional and courteous. The company are reliant on the client to ring them in the event of a no show by the driver as they use sub contract drivers. We were involved in 7 phone calls on the day and I formally complained. They have no audit trail on their drivers and in response to my complaint I get a phone call days later from Transport Manager, George, saying he was pleased my daughter's items were delivered eventually. There was no attempt at an apology and he actually tried to justify the non attendance of the first driver although we had been up since 6.30am. Diabolical service in every respect. Take my advice and use a local reliable removal company. It is false economy to use Anyvan. The stress involved due to their incompetence will leave you shattered - DON'T USE THEM!

Do not use Anyvan.

Do not use this company.

We arranged a move from Newcastle to Manchester. The driver turned up on the day and I helped him load the van as agreed. The driver was visibly in a rush and got away quickly. We had informed him we had family meeting him in Manchester incase he was there sooner than we were.

As he arrived sooner then we did, my brother in law helped him unload the goods into the property, he then presented him with a paper to sign (he never informed him what it was) and then rushed off.

When we arrived, we discovered our fridge was full of dents and scratches. Upon contacting Anyvan they informed us that as we hadn't opted for additional insurance, we weren't covered - however, then looking at their terms and conditions, which states "we will deliver your items in the same condition as we collected them", they changed their argument to "you signed the delivery waver". After this they refused to acknowledge that the driver gave no opportunity for the goods to be inspected before he left.

In short, if you don't opt for the expensive insurance, anyvan can deliver your items in any state they choose and there's nothing you can do about it. Luckily none of our expensive items were damaged beyond repair!

Disgraceful attitude from them, they simply don't care.

Thief's DO NOT USE.

I booked with anyvan after I split up with my husband due to domestic abuse, I have not got much money and had to borrow the £329 to move house. I gave anyvan the money and on the arranged date 2 polish guys turned up and decided they could not do the job due to some few dog hairs on the floor, I was told he had an allergy to dogs, so they sent out another van with 3 Russian guys, who told me his van wasn't big enough and couldn't do the job, so I call anyvan again, to be told that due to the state of my furniture they wouldn't send anyone else around and my money was non refundable, now my furniture might be old and tatty but it's all I have got, it's certainly not dangerous and on anyvans website their strap line is " We move anything, anytime anywhere* I'm now a single mother who cannot afford to leave my current home to move into my safe house, so will prob be evited by my landlady thanks to anyvan. THEIFS DO NOT USE.

Long-distance move from Carlisle, Cumbria to Bristol, Bristol

Cancellation policy.

I recently booked a van to move furniture from Carlisle to Bristol. Dealings with the company and driver were very efficient but the afternoon before the job, the driver texted me to say that his van had broken down so he wouldn't be able to complete it. Anyvan weren't able to find me another van that day and just said that I could either cancel or rebook. No offer of compensation was made, even though I spoke to two members of staff to explain that I'd been seriously inconvenienced by having to rearrange the collection and drop off arrangements with people at two properties at very short notice. I also asked the manager to send me the contact details to make a complaint and received nothing. When the job was finally completed, the driver was very efficient.

Long-distance move from Carlisle, Cumbria to Edinburgh, Midlothian

Great way to find the perfect relocation company.

We had a complicated move of furniture from Penrith (near Carlisle) to three other northern locations and I was struggling to find a company to do this. The anyvan system let the perfect company (located between two of the destinations) to find us! And the movers themselves were fantastic. I have already recommended Anyvan to friends and would use it myself again.
