Absolute Scam.

Like everyone else , mover accepted the quote, then the day before we were moving called up and demanded more money or wouldn't do my house move, which was only the large items in the house, and worked out around 1 luton vans worth, which had only 6 miles to move.
When I refused to pay it, he accused me of shouting at him and saying he won't be spoken to like that! Never happened !
I then called any van who offered to re list it and get a new mover, and the same driver again accepts the quote !
By this point I am fuming I don't want this lunatic anywhere near my furniture , who would trust someone like that ? And want them to move them ? So I spent a further 2 weeks trying to get deposit back threatening them with trade and standards and rendered a Luton and moved ourselves !
Used the previous move and the previous movers demanded money in the day to, hense to say they never got it either ! Never again, absolute con men looking to rob innocent people them drivers, don't bother !

Good Service.

I have used Anyvan before which is why I came back as it has always been a useful and good service. For this job they got me five quotes to move two pieces of furniture which were all very competitive. There was a problem with the me accepting the quote I wanted and then I accepted another one by mistake. The lady on the end of the phone was very helpful and sorted everything out. The company that completed the work were very respectful and cared about the furniture being moved. There is a lot of history behind one of the pieces. I will certainly use this company again. IT cost me £59 in total not bad.

It does what it says.

It's a website where you can get multiple quotes from different moving agencies for a job. We used it to move lab equipment from one place to another. And even though we only had one quote, it was a lot cheaper than other companies I called, and the moving was done professionally and quick by helpful staff. It would have been nicer had we gotten more quotes, but in the end, it did the job.

Great if you are careful.

I used anyvan for a move travelling a fairly large distance (Edinburgh/Glasgow area to Yorkshire). The move went great and the removal company were very professional. I used a company that had over 700 reviews and anyvan are very good at getting you a quote at very little effort and no haggling required. It does have some downsides, there are some bad companies on the site so be careful and I believe anyvan can do a better job of removing these companies.I used anyvan twice, firstly the removal company didn't turn up & 2nd time the removal company were amazing.

I have however given 5 stars as anyvan deserve a high rating then they currently have; they can really get you a great deal due to their bidding program.

A lucky find.

We had not heard of ANY VAN and were planning on doing a rent a van and drive from Scotland to Londo. So glad we didn't. Fabulous service start to finish. The guys arrived on time - bith at pick up and delivery. They were courteous, friendly and professional at what they do. I could not believe how quickly they completed they loaded the van. It is a great idea and I will definitely be using again.
Communication was excellent from start to finish.

Don't book for long distance moves.

BEWARE of booking Anyvan for a long haul delivery.
My son was moving his things from Edinburgh to Cheshire. The initial driver failed to turn up and his phone was switched off. The 'so called replacement' driver promised to come the following day but kept changing his story of when he would arrive. He then turned abusive using language I cannot repeat here. Even if he had turned up he would not guarantee the day, YES DAY that my son's things would arrive in Cheshire!!
Anyvan's customer service was very apologetic but are at the mercy of the drivers who obviously call all the shots. They offered to refund the deposit but made no gesture for the inconvenience caused.
In the end my son and husband had to drive up ((9 hour round trip) to collect the stuff and there were all sorts of unwanted 'knock on' effects such as inconveniencing flatmates in Edinburgh and a new tenant moving in etc etc not to mention the stress and hassle caused.

Go elsewhere.

I used anyvan in August when exchanging houses with my brother. We only used them for the larger/heavier items. My goods were loaded up no problem however my drivers couldn’t unload and had to wait as the drivers for the other property were late. Eventually my goods were moved in. When I arrived at the house I discovered part of the garden wall was knocked down, around half a dozen stones and 2 coping stones next to the entrance path. I contacted anyvan that evening and practically the first words out of the customer service persons mouth was that “insurance only covers the goods being moved”. So, anyvan drivers can trash your property but as long as the itemised goods being moved aren’t damaged, that’s acceptable? What terrible company policy. She asked me to send a photograph, which I did. After several e-mails from myself looking for updates, eventually I was told that as there were two lots of drivers, due to it being an exchange, they didn’t know which drivers were responsible so there was nothing they could do. The driver who moved my goods into the property said that he witnessed the other drivers causing the damage and thought they had informed my brother however they hadn’t. He told this to anyvan. This other driver ‘Piotr’ stated that he’s ‘unaware of any damage’. I’m quite sure he was aware as the broken coping stones had been picked up and put on the wall however the half dozen stones were still lying on the pavement. Please save yourself a headache and take your business to a company with ethics and adequate insurance.

Motorcycle move.

I used Anyvan to move a custom motorcycle. First attempt was unsuccesful as the van had a tailgate and the bike was too long for the tailgate and too low to use a ramp. The pick-up was rescheduled and went like clockwork. Very good would recommend but ensure you provide them with all relevant information on the goods to be transported unlike I did.

Long-distance move from Edinburgh, Midlothian to Inverness, Highland

Screwed Over by Cancellation.

Got properly screwed over by these guys. Booked a van about 1.5 weeks in advance and everything went according to plan, payed them without a hitch.
Then at about 6pm the day before the move got a phone call saying that they had to cancel my van as "they couldn't find anyone". Angry was an understatement. They cancelled on me the day before with no removal van in a flat the the lease ran out on the next day, with a delivery that was over 100 miles so nothing I could do myself, being a student without a car. I specifically told them I had no flexibility in my dates when booking, WHY ACCEPT if you can't do the job!!
Got a "sorry" over the phone. Got a full refund -pending at time of review - but still not happy at all.

Totally messed about!!

Hired a van and man was all ok booked then when I phoned was told more money was needed, was told everything was ok again.

well after a bit of confusion when simon told me they couldn't take my items (we move (ANYTHING) ANYWHERE)

eventually after speaking to his supervisor and sales team they said yes they could take one of my items. so all booked again

On the day im prepared the other side is also prepared for collection half way through the day I get a call sorry we can't do it we don't have anyone. I said you can't just phone me on the day, her reply well what do you want me to do. I said to do your job and send me the van and man I booked and paid extra for for the specific date very unprofessional with me, evening comes I phoned back sorry we couldn't find anyone in your area I can refund you at this point ive waited all day and the other people who only had one day off.

so to be frank you don't move anything anywhere and if your not up to the job then don't mess the customer around just be honest.

If I was the boss of this company or owner I would be so annoyed id be re looking at whos running my business or not running it

I will never recommend you to anyone you totally messed me about and waisted all our time
In the end I hired a van myself job done.

Long-distance move from Edinburgh, Midlothian to Edinburgh, Midlothian

Unprofessional job and damaged items.

I used AnyVan for a housemove since a real mover wanted £700 to move the contents of a two-bed flat down the street, which seemed excessive. The items for the move didn’t fit in the tiny van that arrived on the day, and the men returned the day after to finish the job, which was inconvenient for me. In addition, after moving in, I noticed that the doors of my wardrobe had been scraped. It wasn’t much, but I didn’t bother to claim this on the extra insurance cover I’d bought. Then, I did a load of laundry and my washing machine was leaking all over the kitchen. I had an engineer come and have a look at it, and he said it had been dribbled, and that this might have contributed to the leak (it was fine before the move). I called AnyVan and told them that I wanted to claim this on the insurance, and they told me that because more than 7 days had passed since thre move (I’m on day 10–which is an acceptable time, for me, to get installed and use the washing machine and wait for a convenient time to work from home to wait for the engineer to come) there’s nothing they can do. This is extremely frustrating, and buying a new washing machine (which the engineer told me would be best) will bump the AnyVan price up to the same price as a real removals service wanted to charge me for the move. Be wiser than me and go with a real removals service, and stay away from AnyVan. They’re not worth the money they’re charging, unless you’re happy to pay for an inferior service.

Long-distance move from Southport, Merseyside to Newport, Gwent

Pick up from selling on Preloved.

My item was bought and the seller organised collection with Anyvan. I was given a date and a time between 12am & 6pm. The details and emails were between my buyer and Anyvan. The driver rang in broken English to say when he would arrive. The driver missed our property and rang to say he couldn’t find us. He couldn’t understand my directions and I couldn’t understand him. I waited at the end of a farm track & he eventually came running on foot, with ‘papers’. There were three men in an ‘E’ reg van that I doubt was taxed or insured. When I was supervising, the third man was rifling through our skip, as we are moving! I would NEVER recommend them again. It’s not a company, it’s a rich kid sitting at home online and recruiting any old [EDIT].

Promises, but no delivery..of items or of promises!

I booked a pick up and delivery with AnyVan. Pick up had to be on a specific date by a certain time or storage fees would become payable by myself. I was told that this had been made clear on the order form.
The day before pick up I received a text message asking me to call AnyVan, which I duly did, only to be told that the driver who was meant to be doing my job had pulled out and that they were having to contact other possible drivers to see who could do the job.
The day of pick up I received another text message asking me to contact AnyVan, which I duly did. After a long wait to speak to someone I was asked if there was some flexibility with my job as they hadn't found anyone else who could do it, despite what it said on the job order form in the first place. I said there could be flexibility if AnyVan were prepared to pay the £25 per day storage fees which, of course, they weren't. I was also told that the transport company had tried to call me on several occasions to apologise but I can 100% assure everyone that not a single missed call has flagged up on my phone. Even the customer services person I spoke to said he was very embarrassed for the awful experience I had with AnyVan and that he wasn't surprised I was never going to use the company again.
Be warned: big on promises and small on delivery. Never mind the prices: are you going to get what you pay for in terms of service or the goods you want or are you going to be left high and dry like I have been?

Do Not Use I am Not Joking.

Sadly as I am an "always look at the best of things" kinda girl I gave this company 2 shots.

around 6 months ago I purchased a bookshelf from ebay and booked any van to go and collect it as my car wasn't big enough. 1 inch of snow and bam the driver didn't show. He also didn't tell anyone he wouldn't be there and didn't cancel the job either. Eventually it was rectified by customer services however I had to argue with them to solve it.

The second time is now (well this week)
I sold my sofa on shpock and the lady used anyvan to collect it. I sat in for 8 hours waiting for them and they didn't cancel or show. she had to reshedule for 3 days later and even then it was an open ended 2 day appointment slot so no one knew when they would show up. Luckily they did and the lads were lovely.

However I bought a replacement sofa on ebay and also had it booked it with anyvan. driver called lastnight to tell me he'd be at the other person's property by 12. at 12:30 he texts me to say he's delayed by BY 6 WHOLE HOURS!! and it may be tomorrow and not today at all (neither me or the other party are available tomorrow hence it being booked for today)

So I call customer services to see if they can allocate another driver and what their protocol is to find out that this driver is the one that failed my first booking and that their time is an estimate (an estimate doesn't have a 6 hour time gap) when I informed them of this their customer services called me cheeky and started being rude and lippy with me. Then when I asked to speak to a manager or the complaints team I was told he is in the complaints team and I had to report my complaint to him.

So now here I am probably like lots of other people reading their god damn awful reviews wondering if my sofa will arrive this evening or if it won't. I really don't understand this company. People pay you to do a job and you can't even be bothered? I hope you sink!

Excellent service from AnyVan.

Any van provided an excellent service. They phoned the day before to give us a delivery time and texted the next day. They were spot on with their timing and the delivery men were extremely competent and friendly. They had two drops to make and they were on time and efficient. The price for the removals was very fair. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them.

Expect to carry your furniture yourself.

Really disappointing experience.

I booked two men and a van to move eight heavy items of furniture to my new house. They turned up on time and the driver asked me if I wanted him to get out of the van and help load! I said that yes, I did, but he then did almost nothing during the move as my girlfriend and I helped the other man carry our very heavy furniture. His apologetic and clearly embarrassed colleague even carried a tumble dryer on his own at one point.

I paid extra for one item to go to the first floor, but I didn't feel able to help carry it upstairs (and the non-lifting AnyVan man clearly wasn't fit enough to do it) so my furniture remains downstairs.

After explaining the situation to customer support, and seeking a refund on the extra I paid for two men and first floor delivery, I was told that since they had turned up on time and my furniture was delivered then they can only offer a £40 goodwill gesture, which is well short of the cost of the services they failed to provide.

I have paid for a two-man service, only to have one of them stand by and watch as I carried my furniture myself!

I will not be using this company again.

I regret my decision to choose this terrible company.

I had a terrible experience with this company who not taking responsibility now.

My box with electronic gadgets has sent missing. It was loaded on to the Van along with other boxes.
But not delivered to the destination.

Raised complaint to the AnyVan who has taken their hands off saying there is no evidence and hence they can't help.

I have been left with no assistance now.

This is by far most terrible customer care and experience team I have ever spoken to. Would never choose this company in future.

Excellent.

The van driver was extremely helpful and cheerful. He offered to help us in all sorts of different ways. It meant that the move was not stressful. He was also on time and his van was clean and he had material to cushion more delicate items. What a charming person. Many thanks from the McSparron family!!

The move only cost £65 but this stupid web site won't let me put in an amount less than £100. My apologies to the driver.

Do Not Use For a House Move Zero Star.

I live in Swindon and hired Anyvan to pack and move my daughter from a bed sit (second floor) to 1 bed flat 1st floor, all of which was stated at time of booking - which was a very painful process as I the website is not easy to navigate and the option of picking the premium package. So I called Anyvan to rearrange this over the phone, they could not speak to me as I had put my daughters name on it and not mine - I got my daughter to call them (after her 12 hour shift) and tell them that it was ok to talk to me it took her 40 minutes to tell them this ending up with the answer of for me to call them and they will give a price to me (as I was paying). I did call back the next day and after over 90 minutes of cancelling the first job and redoing the 'Premium' package and ensuring that everything was carried over (of the things I wanted packing) . Fast forward to moving day received text saying between 3-5 pm. At 4.30 (dusk)Two men Turned up at the bedsit. No phone call prior to arriving. Parked in wrong place despite a text and phone call of where to park again the woman who I spoke with spoke minimal english and I could tell she did not understand what I was saying hence the text message . 2 men arrived on my doorstep and appeared to have bypassed the security door for me to buzz them in, no ID and not in 'anyvan' Tee shirt/overalls. They had paperwork and mentioned 'move' to new address and the luton van outside (the wrongside). No sign written van just a white dirty Luton van. They did not like the fact that they had to go up and down the stairs. they did not like that they had to walk to the car park which is no more than 50 steps away from the door of the block of flats. I have done this move my self (when she first moved in) on my own with out half the huffing and puffing and mutterings that was coming from them. They did not cover mattress TV sofa . They refused to take half the stuff as it was not on their list - it was just that I had put it in suit cases thinking it would be easier for them to transport to the van. The boxes provided were small (i was told at booking that they did not have any large boxes?) but about 15 of the 'medium' boxes are average and would be more than enough. The boxes would not even get a quilt in let alone a pillow so they didn't take any bedding any clothes as they aslo said this was not on the 'list'. I had to call on friends to come and help me take the remaining boxes (i only had a small car my daughter was ill and had no car). The luton van was not even half full they could have taken the 5 boxes and 3 suitcases and bedding easily. On delivering to the flat they were clearly wanting to finish - that in the end I told them to leave all the boxes at the bottom of the staircase - upon them leaving he was muttering something about giving them a 5 star review! Upon unpacking boxes it was clear that nothing was protected or wrapped, (i had emptied all cupboards and left everything on the side for them to pack and put in boxes) so all glasses were broken some of her crockery. The mattress was dirty where they clearly dragged it across the pavement. Marks on the headboard and the settee. All they actually did was dismantle/assemble the bed, drag it across the dirty path move and deliver sofa and nest of table (small) and two small ottoman/footstool, and 'pack' 15 boxes. All this took approximate 1 - 2 hours.

Damaged furniture.

We used anyvan to move our large furniture 15 miles, the time agreed was 10am start but the guys arrived at 11.15, the excuse was the van was stopped for a VOS check . Looking over the van there is no way the van was checked as they had to put a block under the wheels to stop it rolling away.
The van was not large enough for the goods , the guys packed everything in far to tight with virtually no covers , this resulted in our solid mahogany dinning table being badly scratched and also our matching sideboard being damaged at the end, the guys dismantled the table but did not rebuild it at the new house , they hid the damage by turning the damaged face to the wall and placing furniture in front, they then asked me to sign that all was okay . When I contacted anyvan to complain I was told that the guys said they did not damage the furniture
And that they hadn’t been asked to rebuild the table and also that there was no room , the room is huge and was cleared prior to the guys arriving.
The guys put furniture in the way to hide the damaged table , the headboard for the bed was also broken , which they did own up too although they tried to glue the timber back together which resulted in glue over the doors on the bedroom sideboard,in my mind the guys were in to much of a hurry.
We are really disappointed with the service from anyvan , the van used is certainly not road worthy and the deceit and lies from the guys is diabolical, the biggest mistake we made was signing to say all was okay , so now we have no comeback.
The service is awful, I would not this company recommend to anyone .
Ps,
Our house is in Dumfries and our move was 15 miles away at Thornhill, the trust pilot did not have these areas for me to add the correct location .
