Long-distance move from Liverpool, Merseyside to Liverpool, Merseyside

AnyVan.

I booked a clearance job through this company and it was so quick and easy to use!! I called through and told them exactly what I needed and when I needed it delivered & I had a cracking quote through in a matter of minutes!! The driver was great, he confirmed the dates and even called me an hour before delivery! The 2 guys were so friendly and helpful, the sofa was quite large but they removed it with such ease!! t's been a great service all round, I've already got my next move booked in!

Driver Did Not Turned up.

I paid extra money to have the driver turn up between 8am - 10am to move some stuff out of my flat. I paid extra money for the driver to turn up at this time but the driver just didn't turn up. Both phone numbers on the website don't work and the mobile number for the driver that was provided has just been made up as it doesn't work either. Don't be convinced by the good reviews on their website. ABSOLUTE SCAM. I'm also very suspicious of the 5 star reviews on this site. Strange that the reviews are either 1 star or 5 stars.. seems like they might be trying to push the average rating up themselves.

Easy to use.

I was about to move. I tried to find a trusted company from newspaper, but I got the feeling this is still an advertisement. So finally I submitted my 4 bedroom house move on anyvan.com and I received cheap quotes after couple of hours. I was worried about maybe far too cheap, but the provider's feedback was right. On the day of the moving they turned up as they promised and it was so simple. I felt, I must be dreaming. I'll use them again it is sure!

Failed Collection - Notified on morning of collection!!

Booked our collection with AnyVan last week. Got a txt from their driver on the morning to say that he would not be able to collect our consignment within the stipulated time frames, he was un-helpful and did not care what impact this was going to have on us or our business! Contacted their Transport team, phone rang and rang for over 15 minutes, I hung up! Contacted their Customer Services who were unable to help and would not commit to a full refund! I will never use them again, happy to take my money but no after care or support if anything goes wrong! Had to book another courier company for same-day collection & delivery - the cost was double, thanks to AnyVan's failure to do their job!

Long-distance move from Luton, Bedfordshire to Watford, Hertfordshire

Items moved to new flat.

We were ready and waiting for collection. Arrived 3-4 hours late with a van too small. Crushed our king sized mattress and scratched our bookshelves then were 3-4 hours late as we waited at the collection point. causing him to take a whole day off work instead of half. Refused to compensate apart from about £30 refund on the job. We had to dump the mattress as it had developed a rigid bar under the surface, it was only a year old and was very expensive (receipt provided with pictures). Blamed the driver's company even though it was Anyvan who had subcontracted the job to them..not us! Totally ruined my son's first "new home" experience.

Van Hire.

Had a great service. Needed a heavy cabinet collecting from Northampton. Communication and service was ‘spot on’ from booking the collection to receiving my goods. Was kept well informed of collection date, time and delivery.

The two gentleman who delivered the cabinet were polite and helpful and the cabinet was delivered safely and undamaged.

Very happy to recommend Anyvan and will be using them again

Avoid at all costs - rip off and poor cs.

We booked a 4 bedroom house removal for 28.0 - 31.0 cubic meters of items to be moved for a 10am – noon pick up slot. We called days in advance to be sure a van or vans large enough move our items in one trip would be provided as with our move we were selling/buying on the same day. We were reassured by Anyvan this would be the case.

Here are some lowlights from the service we received:
• We had to chase our driver when they didn’t arrive between 10-noon.
• They told us then they would be an hour late. When the driver turned on their tracker they were over 2.5 hours drive away.
• The transport partner were not based locally and were based and completing work that morning in Essex, (we are in the Midlands).
• They eventually arrived at just before 3pm. 5 – 3 hours late. At the point we started loading we were squatting in someone else’s house for two hours.
• The van was a 3.5 ton Luton van – half the capacity which was required and one I could have hired myself for a fraction of the price.
• They could not fit our items in one load we had to do two trips. This is clear from anyvan’s own guide on "What Size Removals Van Do I Need?" (on their website - Trustpilot won't allow me to link to it directly). The van we received standard 3.5 ton luton is quoted as having a capacity of 16 cubic meters (600 cubic feet). Remember their own estimate was our items were 28.0 – 31.0 meters.

• The van had clearly not been safety checked. Every warning light illuminated on the dashboard.
• Our buyer was livid and is still threatening legal action – we were in their property and did not vacate until gone 6pm. Their own removal service is charging them due to Anyvan’s disruption. We finished unloading at around 7:20pm.
• Our buyer began moving items into their new home, Anyvan providers managed to pack up some of there items and transport to our new property, we had to return these at our own cost.
• Anyvan have not provided any answers to why the van was half capacity ordered or why they were late. Total failure to take any responsibility in a job that clearly went very wrong.
• Anyvan state they cannot share conclusions from “internal investigations” as to what went wrong.
• We paid £580, we’ve quite rightly been offered £15 as a “gesture of goodwill”. We are yet to take them up on this generous offer and will be seeking to recoup costs through other means.

My advice… avoid like the plague. If you think Anyvan are competitively priced it’s not worth the risk. Move yourself or pay the premium for a proper professional company, not these chancers.

They do not deliver what they promise. Their convenient platform they believe absolves them of any accountability, liability or responsibility to their customers.

Very expensive quotes.

I first booked anyvan driver for removal in August 2015. The quote was very reasonable. Driver was not good. He tried to charge more by making false excuses like counting wrong floor etc.

Since then I have posted jobs several times on anyvan site. I have noticed that their quotes are getting very expensive & quotes are send by only small number of drivers. They start quoting with very high & decrease it to amount which will remain very high. This is their trend for last couple of years. Their quotes & trend is unreasonable. I hope they will look into this matter.

Really great Sercive.

I had a fantastic experience with anyvan, I would like to thank Mark, the driver, to be so patient, friendly, punctual and a professional. The driver went on time and we got in Portsmouth earlier than I was expecting to, he helped to put my items in the car before leave Nottingham and to take off when we arrive to Portsmouth. I hope to have another experience with you next time, mainly with the fantastic driver, Mark.

Job Well Done.

Found Anyvan online and wasn't sure about them at first, but was more than happy with the move when it came to the day. Removal guys were great - speedy and efficient, no problems at all. Kept in touch before the move which was great as was a stressful time! I had look at quite a few companies, but got a good price using AnyVan and everything was moved without hassle. Would happily recommend to others.

My freezer delivery.

I was really surprised by the efficiency and courtesy shown by the delivery guy who both phoned and emailed me to firm up a delivery day and time. He arrived when he said he would and was polite and cheerful and very obliging by place the new freezer exactly where I wanted it. I would definitely use this service again, indeed, it will open up a new world of retail opportunities!

DO NOT USE Company of theives.

I really wouldn't trust "Trust pilots" rating and follow the advice of everyone here. Bought two drivers with him instead of one then stood in our living room for an hour putting the price up. Kicking boxes and was just plain rude. We told them to go home. Still get charged the £130 which we can't really afford at Christmas and they won't refund even though the service was never delivered . Feel upset and robbed.

DO NOT USE

Ended up going with a local removal company last min who pulled out all the stops and and weren't fussy about what kind of bookcase we had. Use local not Any Van.

AnyVAn - so stressful! Rude driver.

The driver was the rudest person I have ever met. All my furniture was as described and bubble wrapped - there was very few items and in fact 3 LESS than I had put on the form (I had pressed 2 for two items without noticing). He proceeded to slate my furniture saying it was broken, I was more than happy with him taking photos to cover himself but I pointed out that what he was saying was broken was just the attachments of the dressing table that I had taken apart so it was easier to move. I had 2 linen baskets which had cushions in which he made me remove as he said he was not insured. Cushions!! He then said I had to sign a waiver form, I wanted to speak to anyvan customer services (which it said I could on the form) at which point he then threatened to leave without taking the furniture (which was on the van). I signed the form and then he said the furniture might not arrive until the next day. This was clearly just a wind up so I did not respond. He was a nasty piece of work, a bully . At the other end my brother was helping me and this nasty bullying man stayed in his cab the whole time!! Just likes bullying women.

Bad experience.

I booked for 2 men and a van to move 2 3-seater reclining settees from my daughter's house to mine. They turned up and said they couldn't move them because we had not dismantled them before they arrived. Tried to ring AnyVan and no-one would answer. Talked to "Martin" on live chat and he said that I had not said they were reclining and that he could rebook but I would have to pay 50% for the aborted collection and then pay again for them to come again. I was not entitled to a refund and I got a phone call a short while later saying it was my fault for not stating they were recliners and that I should have paid more for dismantling. The woman said it was easy to do. So I said, why didn't they do it then? Because I did not pay extra for it! I was not given the option to pay extra for it. Will never use this company again. Wish I had read the reviews on this site before booking.

Deleting reviews, I wouldn't 't trust anything you see!

After leaving this review on their website for one of their drivers, I log on to find it's been removed, I wouldn't trust anything you see on here as they clearly doctor their reviews..
Oh and they even trying to get this review removed off trustpilot too!

Here was my review of one of their so-called "Anyvan Accredited Gold Movers":

Company quoted me for 600kg and half a van around a week and a half before I was due to move, I was told would be picking up between Wednesday and Friday, after several emails and trying to go over their heads contacting Anyvan for them to contact me with regards to an exact date and or time, I finally heard late Tuesday afternoon that it would be being picked up the next day! I literally had to rush to unpack my whole house within 1 day due to serious lack of notice! Fast forward to the day of collection, I a polish guy, I assume came, who didn't speak too much English with a girl. He looked at my stuff and kept saying it seems like 800kg. Despite paying greatly for this service, I had thought to speed things up by literally moving almost everything except for sofa and fridge, freezer and washing machine into the front room off the street. The girl did next to nothing, the guy kept having breaks every half hour, they would disappear into the van without a word, leaving me in limbo. As the half van started to fill up, I noticed he wasn't using the full size of the half of the van I had paid for height wise and I had to tell him and direct him how to stack the items up so they were efficient as possible. Eventually, the guy left, but this wasn't the worst part. The next day I received a call claiming that my load was "exactly 1200kg" or 1 full van load and they wanted to double the price I had paid, despite me carefully calculating the load I estimated I could have been 100-200kg out, not 600kg! They had me over a Barrell, after showing me some possible doctored video footage, who knows whether they had added additional weights on the truck hidden underneath? I had to pay the extra in cash to the driver so they could avoid VAT? The man I spoke to also had the cheek to tell me the driver had said I hadn't helped out much, despite me having already essentially done their job by moving everything already into the front room for easy access and helping with most of the stuff onto the van! On the day of my arriving in Spain, the driver came later than expected with everything seemingly intact apart from quite a few dirty marks on our bed mattress and headboards. We lived in a 2nd-floor apartment as I'd written on the quote, The man seemed to stay on the van and just move things around, doing nothing whilst he waited for us to bring stuff up, the girl lifted a few things to the apartment. I could tell they were both super unfit and really should be in a less active style job as at one point walking up the stairs with a washing machine the guy looked like he was going to have a heart attack! Overall I and my petite wife ended up doing most of the work, every time I came back down to the van to collect I would see them sitting or slouching looking very tired and disappearing, I assume for a cigarette. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the company, especially having seen one with such good reviews, maybe using a different driver, or just maybe a large tv delivered? I definitely wouldn't recommend this company at all, through every step of the process I find it's been very unprofessional and tbh they don't deserve to be rated by Anyvan. So if you want a van with hidden charges, lack of communication and very lazy drivers who barely help and look like they are going to keel over from exhaustion at any moment then maybe this is the company for you?

Long-distance move from Norwich, Norfolk to London, Greater London

So far, so good.

Have used AnyVan twice now for quotes. In both cases, the jobs were moving several boxes between locations almost 175 miles apart. The quotes both came in below what it would cost me to hire a van and do the work myself. Although I am sure that AnyVan take a commission, I still ended up saving money, so cannot complain. On the one occasion I have needed to contact their customer service, I was answered promptly, and my problem resolved immediately. Will definitely be using AnyVan in future.

Removal.

Had a man called Jon from trusted movers come and give me a quote for a move.it was aagreed that I would use his srmervice but I was told after that he may not be able too get all of my stuff on the lorry. Then when I got a new date a day address he became very hostile and demanded money even though I had signed nothing or looked at his terms and conditions. At one point he got his partner too call my housing. Each and demand money threatened me with legal action. I have been very upset over this and my trust in this company haso been reduced too nothing.. can't get hold of anyone too get my promised refund back . . Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Brilliant service.

I can not recommend this firm enough, from out initial contact to the last piece of furniture being moved in, everything was done very professionally, we booked on line and put down room by room what we required to be moved, a price was quoted (which was very reasonable), and a date arranged, they kept us informed on everything, they even emailed the drivers name and what time they would be arriving, On the day everything went smoothly, the guys who moved us were brilliant, and a credit to the firm, it took a lot of stress out of moving, if you are moving, not just house moving, anything that you need moving at a reasonable price, use these guys, you won’t be disappointed.

Quote and feedback cannot be trusted.

I accepted a quote for a move from Moveover that was estimated to last 1h30. The job lasted in fact 3h and the mover asked us to pay him double the amount we were initially quoted. How was I supposed to know how long would the job last?
Anyvan refused to take our side, yet acknowledging that movers are not supposed to have hourly rates. The quotes you are given on this website cannot be trusted.
Worse, when I reported my experience in the mover's feedback, advising future customers to be careful about the hourly rate, my feedback got deleted. The feedback records of the movers therefore cannot be trusted either.
Needless to say that my next move won't be with Anyvan.

Appalling service.

Very poor service
- First attempt: cancelled on the morning of delivery
- Second attempt (the following day): no show. No reply to email, impossible to get through on the customer services line. When I got through, the person claimed they had called, emailed and left voicemails (if one of these hadn't worked I could believe it, but all of them? They'd called and emailed the day before and subsequently with no issue..this is flat out not true). They again didn't have a driver. The person I spoke to became quite rude.

Thiefs! Dont Ever Use Them.

Booked the service a week ago for today. Been calling the driver for three days, someone who I honestly think was the driver took 2 of 6 calls saying driver was busy and will call me in a while. Never called me back. Tried to talk to someone from Anyvan Customer Support. Waiting at phone for between 15-20 min everytime and never took my call. Today's moving day and still haven't news from driver or anyone, just that they would appear in some point between 8am to 6pm! Just had to cancel it and find another way to do it and lost 100£.
Definitely not recommended at all.

Crap Service.

I booked any van for a collection of an item I bought of ebay, the booking process was fine, but the service on the day was dreadful

i organised for collection of the item to be between the hours of 8AM-6PM, the driver assured me that he was collecting the item at 1:30, and he would be delivering to me for 16:00PM, so I organised to leave work early

i then called him and he told me that he would call me back, he didnt

i was informed that the item had not been collected, at 6:30pm, he collected the item at 7:00 and delivered to me at 9:30PM, which completely wrecked my plans for the evening

also I paid for two workmen knowing that im not strong enough to lift the item, and he came on his own, and I struggled to get the item into my house.

when speaking to Anyvan, wanting a refund, they decided to only refund me for the additional cost of a second workman

not a happy customer, ive been assured that the service is usually better, but I will not be using them again.

Do Not Hire Them.

We hired a van just to collect a wardrobe in time, they said it will be fine, still the driver turned up an hour late so the seller was busy by then, after that we couldn't even call the driver, we couldn't track him he was basically gone with our 40 pounds we payed for this poor service and they still didn't refund our money or move their pinky. If I knew this is going to be so stressful and waste of time and money I would've just waited a few hours for a friend to collect what I wanted. Service is poor, talking to costumer service was also stressful and they are basically thieves.
