International move from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire to Barcelona, Catalunya

Stay away from Anyvan or it will cost you.

We contracted a transport between the UK and Spain through Anyvan. The transport company, with a long history on Anyvan, was only responsive up to the point of us making payment. It was complex to arrange pick-up, and nerve-wrecking to wait for a 4-times delayed delivery. A package was missing, and never brought back to us as promised. The transport provider broke all the promises made on Anyvan’s website. Anyvan quickly washed its hands off and offered no help, no refund, and took 0 responsibility on the matter. The transport company has vanished. We’ve lost way more than we hoped to save by using Anyvan. They seem to think that delivering 95% of your stuff by volume is fair enough. Stay away from this site. It’s a Russian roulette.

Moving HOuse.

Last time anyvan movers can able to deliver 3.1 Cubic size goods to my property at first floor but this time I booked the household items from the same property with size of 2.1 cubic but this time they unable to pick and expected to customer to provide the parking entrance arch size to decide what kind of van for transport but as a customer I knew that my items occupies only 2.1 Cubic.
Even customer provides other option to park to Anyvan driver, but driver speaks so harass and threaten you for extra money
Even description of all household goods mentioned clearly on booking quotation, Anyvan driver mentioned like we got list as mattress and box. Very poor coordination between company and their van drivers..I never again use or suggest to anyone..very very poor service..

Worst Removals.

Worst decision made to hire anyvan for removal.
2 men came over for job and both of them were not wearing uniform of anyvan as pictures shown on the website.
It was clearly mentioned about wardrobe with dimensions that needs to be moved as well but one of the anyvan guys starting argueing that he wont take the wardrobe and wanted me to unassemble it.There was no mention of unassembling a wardrobe when booked over the phone otherwise I would have done it.That guys starting misbehaving and started asking for extra money to unassemble and move the wardrobe otherwise would leave it.I had to handover keys next days and arrange cleaners as well and due this is kind of statements I had to go through so much mental stress
Called anyvan customer centre who had no clue about all this and told me will sort it out but nothing happened and that removal guys kept misbehaving with us and kept asking for extra money to take wardrobe even though it was included in removal cost.
I had 2 sidetables filled with stuff which I wasn't told when booked to remove stuff from. The same removal guys started shouting that all furniture should be empty when they come in for removal and in a threatening way approched my wife who was carrying our 7 months old child and started shouting to empty stuff. This was beyond limits. He wasn't picking up the other boxes which were ready and was intentionally targeting us.
I spoke to customer care guy named andrew I think but nothing changed
Because of that guys behavious and shouting at my house my child got traumatized and I would would strongly recommend people who have kids not to allow anyvan people to enter their houses as they can be threat to your family.
PLEASE GUYS DONT USE THIS SERVICE EVER.I was victim this time and tomorrow it might be your wife or kids.

Long-distance move from Croydon, Greater London to Canterbury, Kent

First time user of Anyvan.com.

Recommended by the girls in the shop when I couldn't fit our purchase in my car, I registered with Anyvan as soon as I got home and by the following morning had quotes ranging from £345 to £68.
I chose the £68 and wondered what sort of service I would get.
Once Anyvan had taken £23, the service I received for £45 was fantastic.
Delays on the road put back the collection time several hours, but we still received our delivery on the same day as collection and despite his long day, the courier was polite, cheerful and to be thoroughly recommended as the face of Anyvan.

AnyVan is Amazing!

The delivery was done brilliantly. It has made the experience of doing moving house painless - and there aren't many organisations you can say that about! Drivers were friendly, well equipped and skilled. Every second of the move was done to perfection, even the packing and securing of my all my delicate items.

Staff at AnyVan are polite and help too!I am already recommending AnyVan to all my friends and family! Thanks guys and girls!

Rubbish.

This company is the worst!!
Its a system geared to take money under faulse pretences.

They take full payment on booking.. then take every oportunity to not do the job. Then wont give a refund. They stole £220 off of me never gave me the oportunity to confirm the collection day/date so I didn't know there was problem till the day. They then demanded another £155 to do the same job on another day..Rip off merchants. Shriply did the job no problem only took deposit after collection and the rest on delivery. Honest service.

Let down 3 times.

Booked collection and delivery for a bookcase and was give 2 dates. Late in the day of the first date, having waited in all day, received a call informing me that my delivery would be cleared over night and would arrive the next day.

When I received no confirmation I contacted support, who informed me that, despite a guarantee to the contrary, my job had not cleared. 2 days off work wasted. I am self employed, so loss of wages.

My job was rescheduled for today with a pledge that it would be honoured.

Received no confirmation so contacted support who have just informed me that my delivery fell through?

3 days work now lost and no bookcase.

I am told I will receive a refund, having cancelled the booking.

Time will tell.

Don’t trust with your move.

Booked for 2-4pm slot. Turned up finally at 6:40pm putting my property sale at risk and making me liable for legal fees for whole chain. Driver didn’t communicate he would be late until I rang him for an update. Took nearly 30mins to get through to the AnyVan office logistics team and they failed to help. Refunded only £12 for missing the slot and then pretended it was compensation on Trust Pilot (so that that can dupe others into using them). This was a refund for failing to provide the service I’d paid for - not compensation.

AnyVan - you could waste your whole day waiting.

You could waste your whole day waiting for this firm to turn up - I think they are terrible at communication.
Pickup was supposed to be between 8 am and 6 pm with a call the day before to confirm details. They turned up at 9:45 pm and the first contact from the driver was at 6 pm. There was no call on the day before and the driver did not respond to calls, messages or texts. Anyvan customer service passed me from pillar to post when I phoned during the day and the Webchat agent was helpful but did not solve the situation. At 5:45 pm a customer service agent realised I had the wrong phone number for the driver and it later turned out that the driver did not have my contact details or the details for the person he was delivering to.
The delivery completed at 11:45 pm and then the poor driver had to get home after his very long day.
I won't ever use this firm again because they don't deliver what they promise.
The final insult was that they offered me £10 for my wasted time - I think that shows that they are not a great company to do business with.

Lazy, unhelpful.

Booked van and two men to move some large, heavy furniture. The turned up and complained they didn't have access to one of the cupboards, completely ignoring the fact that access was hampered by two of the items they were moving. We agreed that the cabinet had not been emptied, but even when it was they complained. Stood around for 45 mins, then contacted their office to complain that the job couldn't be done and left. They didn't even have the means to move some of the furniture. My husband bought a wheeled trolley thing which was really useful, not sure have these men would have moved any of our furniture without one. I would not recommend using this company, unhelpful and a total waste of £75.

1st time used.

Having never used a service like this previously I was a little apprehensive. However, as they said they would, they found a number of options for me in less than 6 hours. The guy who eventually picked up the wrought iron bed Liam Scott, and delivered to ours was courteous, polite and professional.
He sorted out the collection with the vendor and I just sat back and waited for the delivery!
I would very much recommend this service to others and will use it again.

Wish id checked the reviews prior!

Booked anyvan to move my larger furniture to my new home around the corner. I called the driver 30 minutes before the booked time slot of 1pm- 4pm, to see what time they would arrive, and was told 3.45pm. at 4.20pm I called again and was told they were just about to make their way to me, from London, in rush hour. I'm in Chelmsford. I had to cancel and get a refund, then rush around and hire a local van and see if some of my family could come and help me (who live 50 miles away).

Terrible.

Arranged a motorcycle collection on a fixed date with anyvan, they failed to arrange a collection and did not inform me of this till late afternoon the day before. They then asked to rearrange for a flexible pick for the following week, which was okay, except they would only charge me the full price, for a fixed day collection ( a difference of more that £100). So I cancelled this booking, and not wanting a repeat of the first failure to collect, booked a flexible collection for the following week. That week came an went, without any contact from anyvan about when the bike might be collected. When I spoke to an adviser today, the only thing they could offer was RE re booking another flexible collection for next week. Hopeless. The advisors I spoke to were very polite and helpful, as far as they could be, but the logistical organisation is terrible. I would not recommend using them.

They damaged our floor and won't pay.

We used anyvan to move a piano. The delivery drivers scratched our floor with it (see photos). We did not notice till they left, but then immediately took photos and contacted them. The Mark's go from the front door to the piano so it's pretty obvious what they are from. Anyvan have said that because we let the drivers leave there is nothing they can do and they have refused to uphold the complaint. This will cost us more than the cost of moving the piano.

Broke two windows with their van - refusing to accept responsibility.

NEVER USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!

Anyvan drivers backed their van into our property, causing damage to two timber window frames, meaning we can not even close one of our windows.

After going through the claims process, having sent them photographs of before and after the damage and two independent verifications from our estate agents and surveyor, they have refused to offer us any financial reimbursement.

We are now in serious financial trouble as we don’t have a lot of money and now have to to spend hundreds repairing a broken window frame that was totally their fault.

NEVER EVER use this company, it has totally ruined our summer and our first ever house move, which should be an exciting time.

Treadle Sewing Machine to Edinburgh.

I was delighted with the excellent timely service which was provided at a reasonable cost by Anyvan. Collected and delivered in a first class style. The driver was polite and friendly and took good care of the sewing machine. I look forward to using the service again for the delivery of Antiques. I have rated the service with five stars and would not hesitate to recommend them for a friendly personal courier service.

Wasted, stressful day, no removal.

Paid up front for removal of 1 king size bed between 8am and 6pm last Sunday. Eventually allocated a driver just before noon that day. Given his mobile no and email, told to contact him. Left message. He phoned a few hours later, to say he had to finish a job, which was 2 hours away, before coming to us. At 9pm spoke to him again. He was still 2 hours away. Had to cancel, as removal at 11pm or even later is totally unacceptable. Contact with driver and Anyvan staff was polite, charge repaid, but day wasted without job being done. Alternative arrangements now made with another company, 30% cheaper. Removal was to and from a town in Cumbria, not on list to select.

Good service.

I received a good range of quotes..and plenty of them. In end I chose one of the cheaper quotations based on the company's anyvan experience and I completely agreed with the positive reviews. All round great service and quotes generally beat anything I found independently by approaching companies directly. So Anyvan should save time, effort and money. I will definitely use again!

Collection and delivery of eBay purchase.

Used Anyvan to collect an item purchased on eBay and deliver it to me. The whole process, from getting a quote, booking and paying right through to delivery was first class and couldn't be faulted. The quote was competitive and reasonable and the customer service ethos is second to none. Email confirmation followed, followed by details fo the driver. The driver phoned us the day before to confirm details, again when the item had been picked up, giving an ETA for arrival, and when he arrived he was cheerful, polite and it is clear the item had been well cared for and safely transported. I will be using this company again.

One star because I couldn't say none.

To start with, good experience. Easy to book, cheap. Booked 12-2 as I had appointments in the afternoon.

Then came moving day.
1. They didn't arrive until 4.40
2. They broke the clips on our washing machine;
3. They left marks on my new carpet after being told not to;
4. They were unprofessionally dressed;
5. Clearly a 'one man band' that had been contracted with an old crappy second hand van (not even well repainted, it was an old Parcel Force van).

I received a refund from AnyVan for the time slot, but not for the rest of it. I complained and they said they would get back to me within 3-5 days. They did not, so I called them. They said the complaint had been resolved, which it had clearly not! I requested to be put through to the complaints department but the girl in customer services was having none of it and would not even put me through to a manager. I am a paralegal and considering legal action.

Please do not use this company, they're cheap for a reason.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING ANYVAN THEN PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW

I am not one to ever write a bad review, but the unacceptable service I received from AnyVan has compelled me to on this occasion.

The drivers arrived to deliver our furniture at 00.15am. The journey from collection to delivery was over 100 miles, so we were told that they could arrive at the destination the same day as collection or the day after. It was only at 10pm on the day of collection that we received a call from out driver telling us he would not be there until midnight. We had no choice whatsoever in this. The driver arrived at 00.15am and didn’t live until 3.49am. We live in a second floor flat so this disturbed our neighbours considerably. Not to mention that this is just an unprofessional and unsociable time. If you do book with AnyVan make sure you specifically state a latest time for delivery. I would not have thought this necessary, but if you want to avoid being up in the middle of the night and disturbing your neighbours then I would recommend it.

We had to do a lot of the heavy lifting despite having paid for 2 men instead of just 1. We paid for 2 men to decrease the amount of lifting we were doing because we didn’t know the correct technique for lifting heavy items and so wanted to avoid injury. When the driver and his 17 year old son arrived, they had already been working 16 hours that day (they told us they started at 8am) and so were tired before they even stated lifting. I completely understand that they were tired after working a long day but surely it would have made more sense for them to arrive the following morning instead. On a number of occasions the driver said to my partner 'help me, I'm an old man'. Of course we were more than willing to help with some lifting but we had paid for 2 professional men for a reason. If you do not want to lift heavy items, state this on the special instructions of your booking. Again, I would not have thought this necessary.

The driver told us to destroy our sofa when it would not fit into the flat. One of my main concerns was the driver’s attitude when he realised that the sofa would not fit in the flat. At this point it was blocking the stair well so that tenants in the above flat could not get downstairs. Instead of now taking the sofa back downstairs, the driver insisted that the sofa could not be brought back down. He said he had to leave to be somewhere else and we would need to destroy the sofa. As you can imagine this was a very stressful and upsetting situation. After speaking to the driver and his son for at least 20 minutes we eventually managed to persuade them to bring it back down. This process was rushed, causing damage to the sofa and creating even more noise.

There was extensive damage to our furniture and our property. The damage to our furniture was unacceptable. The wooden dining table (which was previously is excellent condition) arrived with a large scrape down the centre and the seat of one of our leather dining chairs was ripped. Again previously in excellent condition, our sofa now has multiple tares in the fabric, the wooden frame is very weak meaning the sofa now rocks side to side and the metal bars of the sofa bed are twisted. This £899 sofa bed was no longer in an acceptable state for use meaning that we had to get rid of it. In addition, whilst trying to get the sofa upstairs, the walls of the stairwell were scratched and damaged so that there are now obvious holes, cracks and marks which will need to be repaired. The driver and his son were not careful with our furniture, on many occasions even standing on the arm of the sofa.

We were not covered for damage. When I informed AnyVan about this damage they explained that because I did not pay for comprehensive insurance that they could not accept responsibility for the damage. Maybe I was naive in thinking that a professional moving company would take responsibility for any damaged caused to your items in transit. This is not the case. The basic insurance included in the price only covers for fire, lighting, aircraft, explosion and theft. If you book with AnyVan make sure you pay for comprehensive insurance. This is not cheap, but worth it if trusting them with your furniture.

The customer service was extremely disappointing. I first asked to make a damage claim as well as a formal complaint about the service on the day of delivery over a month ago in August. The damage claim was dropped, without any kind of compensation or acceptance of wrong doing. Then, only last week after many, many emails was my formal complaint about the service on the night of delivery addressed. During this correspondence, the member of the AnyVan team I was speaking to kept changing and so I had to continuously repeat my reason for complaint. This is unacceptable customer service - it felt like they were doing everything they could so I would get fed up and drop the complaint. Despite everything mentioned above, I was only originally only offered £20 due to the late arrival. After further emails, I was offered another £25 as a 'gesture of goodwill'. To get to this stage with AnyVan has taken me 6 weeks of continuous emails and phone calls and they are still yet to have responded to all of my concerns or accept any kind of responsibility.

I will finish by saying that my brother has also recently used AnyVan. He was allocated a different driver and had nothing bad to say about the experience. It is a luck of the draw with AnyVan. You cannot be sure of the standard and quality of driver you will be allocated. So if you are in need of ‘a-man-with-a-van’ I would strongly advise you to use someone local and recommended rather than take a chance. That is certainly what I will do in the future.

I am absolutely appalled by the service I received, and would strongly urge anyone against using AnyVan in the future.

Dining table & chairs disposal.

Very much pushed for time I used Anyvan to get quotes for the removal of a dining table and six chairs. The chosen driver - mdI06 - was some twenty five miles away but was able to give a good quote, pick up three to four hours later, maintained contact, arrived on time was charming, quick and very professional. Not the cheapest - had I had more time available - but I would definitely use Anyvan again.

Long-distance move from Lincoln, Lincolnshire to Worthing, West Sussex

Moving furniture from Lincolnshire to Sussex.

Do not use this company . The worst experience ever and atrocious assistance when unable to carry out the job that I paid £144 to be carried out . The removal of furniture was booked over a week before the designated date . I needed a specific time on the 17 August for the collection . The day before I asked if I could change to the 16 th which I was unable to do . On the 17th it became apparent early on that this company was unable to collect at the specified time or even date as I was offered a delivery time for the following day despite having paid more for that time a lot on the 17th . I had paid extra for a delivery between specified times and for an additional person to help with the removal . Despite several phone calls and a lot of stress the move did not happen the company is quite honestly appalling and shouldn't be able to trade . Avoid at all costs . I would have given this a 0 star rating but could not send this review without a rating at some level.
