Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Excellent.

We are very happy to have chosen the UK Removal company. 1. Vee came to our house and explained in details the all process. 2. after receiving the quote, we asked to do the move in 1 day, they immediatelly accepted to accomodate our request. 3. we received 20 boxes to pack our private stuff prior to the move. 4. Unfortunately, the day of the move, the team arrived late. We hadt to call the office to have more information. The london traffic can be very bad, we understand it can happen. 5. The guys did a great job and make our move the less stressfull. Actually, we went shopping, had lunch in a restaurant and came back 4 hours later to our house empty and fully packed in their truck. 6. all boxes are properly packed abd they paid attention to wrap in plastic our furniture and protect all fragile items. in conclusion, we had a great experience and recommend Vee and her team 100%. Great value for money.

Great service.

I have had two removals done by UK Removal Company in 2012 and 2014. Vee is always very professional, whilst warm and approachable, and pays attention to customers needs. Everything went smoothly in both occasions. I am going trough my third house move in 2 years and haven't doubt contacting them again. I emailed Vee on the weekend and today she visited, sent me a quote and even got packaging materials delivered tonight! Very good value for money.

Currently taking this compnay to a small claims court.

I have read the below reviews thoroughly and it seems this sham of a removal company do the same things over and over again. They are highly unprofessional and left me with a 3/4 moved house and refused to come back unless I paid them an additional £200.

Below is a summary of what this company seem to do every time

- Vee came around to assess the move, and promised me many things which where not delivered. She came across as professional and competent - this is the only time you will see any professional actions.

- On the day of the move the van will be late - in my case an hour late

- Van used is over 20 years old and in terrible condition

- Promised to send 3 movers - only 2 arrived

- Ran out of boxes for my move, so I had to buy black bags to finish this off

The packers and movers were competent and friendly, they were a little slow but this is ok. They worked hard, but the management of this company is incompetent, and were not willing to support their workers.

My main gripe was they didn't finish my move, the van wasn't large enough to fit everything and they were not willing to make another visit or journey (even though I moved 4 minutes down the road) The management is rude and incompetent, the can't even do the fundamentals like supply enough boxes and a large enough van.

Avoid this company at all costs. I am currently starting the process of taking them to the small claims court to recoup the losses I made (as I had to use another company to finish off the job)

Please look elsewhere for a professional removal firm.

Would NOT recommend.

Vee’s sales pitch was very good and professional.  The price was not any cheaper than any of the other companies that had provided quotes although for the service we received it should have been! The materials were “free” but they didn’t give us very much to start with and the boxes are quite small and all the same size so not much fitted in them.  We were sent more materials but again we used these up but when we asked for more we were told it would be a £20 delivery charge.  Also, both deliveries we were received were a few days later for various reasons. On the day of the move we were told the team would arrive between 9 – 10am.  When they didn’t arrive by 10:10 I called Vee.  I then got a call from the removal man in charge (Jay) to say they’d be to me within ½ an hour.  They arrived at 11:30am but without a van!  They started taking the boxes downstairs and said the van would arrive any minute.  We’d also paid for someone to take the furniture apart and assemble it the other end but the man who did this was in the van that hadn’t arrived. By the time they’d taken all the boxes downstairs which are now left on the street, back of the property, and on the stairs, the van had still not arrived.  Everytime we asked when the van was arriving we were told any minute now.  Two guys went off to get lunch leaving Jay “watching” our boxes, however he was in his car so I don’t see how he could be watching all boxes and they could have easily been stolen!  The van did not arrive until around 3pm-3:30pm!!  Vee had also underestimated how much we had and had to send another van as it would not have fitted in the one van.  This arrived half an hour later.  So from around 12:30/1pm – 3/3:30pm nothing happened other than our boxes being everywhere!!  Lucky it didn’t rain! We received no explanation and no apology at all. When they started packing the van, there was a row between 2 of the guys outside the flat, we had to ask one of them not to be on his mobile phone under his chin whilst trying to carry our boxes, they were dropping fragile boxes to the floor and shoving them in the van, and when we asked them not to they just argued back?!  When we finally left the old flat however they went to the wrong address.  That was another delay. At the new place they kept putting the fragile and very fragile boxes at the bottom underneath heavy boxes, we’d marked all the boxes so it was clear.  We asked a few of them not to do this.  One of them even replied that if we have wrapped the items in paper or bubble wrap it would be fine!  When Vee came round to give us a quote she said they have someone very experienced in dis-assembling and assembling furniture.  It seemed the opposite to that and took two of them hours to put an ikea bed together.   At one point they wanted to give up and said we’d bought the wrong slats.  He was wrong and they were the correct slats he had just made a mistake assembling it so had to undo and redo it.  Vee also said they would fit the soft close to our wardrobe which we never did when we put it apart.  The removals men didn’t know anything about this and wouldn’t fit it for us. Jay said he had been in removals for 15 years so I thought he’d have an idea of what time we would be finished.  He said 5pm firstly, then 6pm, 7pm, 7:30pm, 8pm, then 8:30pm!  In the end, the boxes were all in and it was just the bed that we were waiting on being finished.  We needed to leave for an appointment around 7-7:30pm.  Jay suggested we give him the money and they would just shut the door behind them when they’d finished the bed.  I’m sorry but who in their right-mind would do that?!  Jay was getting very agitated about us giving him the money as he didn’t want to stay until the bed was finished.  We were not happy about giving the money until everything was complete given the experience we’d had so far so we missed the appointment and stayed until 8:45pm when everything was finally completed.  The whole experience was very unpleasant and unprofessional and we will never never use this company again and would never recommend anyone else to use them either.

Don't!

Awful experience with this company - many many items broken and damaged and a almost year long battle to get a penny from them.
They came with a van that was clearly too small (despite coming to the property to assess the items previously) and tried to jam everything in. Ended up doing 2 trips.

Broken items include: speakers - dropped, plan pots - dropped and then disposed of so we wouldn't notice, picture frame, dropped.

Damaged items include - bed, wardrobe, table - all soft wood/painted with large chunks of wood missing and paint scratched.
After 10 months we decided to settle for £150 compensation. .

Awful company.

Quite honestly one of the worst experiences of dealing with a company in my life.
Our contact kept changing story as to what was the cause of the delay and when we could expect the delivery, all the vans have sat nav so I don't see why this had to be so difficult.
When they did finally arrive they were late by around 6 hours, a few items were wet and dirty on arrival due to the van being old and having a leaky roof.  Simply shocking, please do yourself a favour and avoid this company!

No resolution.

At first glance this is a professional company but as our time with them went on we were more and more disappointed. The men who collected our items were great, efficient, friendly and very hard working. We then put our items into storage with them. There was a set rate for a certain period we then had to extend our storage period while our new property (which was a new build was delayed). We always gave them as much notice as possible however we suddenly noticed that our storage fees were being increased. Not just by a little but by a lot. The original contract we signed did state that fees may increase but it did not suggest an amount and did by no means suggest that it would be by so much. Problem is at that point they have you over a barrell. It would have cost more to move our things out of their storage than to just leave it. The fees continued to go up until we finally had a moving in date. On the day of the move we were informed (only upon our contacting them) that there had been a delay at the storage unit due to a fire alarm. When they finally arrived with our goods it was after 8pm at night and they only sent two men to unload the goods. We had paid for an assembly service which meant that our bed, wardrobe and sofas would be assembled by them however upon delivery the men had only been informed of the bed and due to the late hour that is all they did. Over the next few days and weeks we slowly unpacked and assembled our furniture and it was during this time that we found that all of our picture frames were damaged and in fact one frame never appeared, just the broken glass and the photos that were once in it. We also found damage to our changing table and our sofas were damp. During the delivery of our goods it was revealed to us that we had actually been sharing a storage facility with another customer and that their goods may well have been the cause for some of the dampness. I tried on numerous occasions to email and phone UK Removals to discuss all of this and negotiate some form of compensation however I never really received a response. I, at one point got an email that was barely apologetic and only offered me £40 for the inconvenience caused. Do not use this firm especially if you have items to store. I am so appalled at the way we have been treated and plan to leave a similar review to this everywhere I can.

Don't touch them.

This review is a long time coming . I was so ill after my ordeal it has taken me almost a year to replace all my damage furniture. I had so much personal items stolen .
for your own sake do not even let Vee come into your house and give you a quote . She is an exceptional sale persons , I'm shocked that I was taken in by Vee ,after reading mostly negative reviews Vee assured me most of them were disgruntaly customers . (not true )
As I said 80% of my furniture was damage I tried to claim compensation for a chest of drawers which had chunks missing , to no avail all I got was abuse fro Mark ( nasty Pearson ) being a single woman on my own I was completely intimidated and frightened by him .

I'm sure there must be a governing body that they cam be reported to , they should be struck off !

They are a bunch of Cowboys and crooked avoid at all cost !

Awful! A complete disaster.

Avoid this removal company at all costs! They are completely unprofessional and do not deliver what a basic removal company should. I completely agree with all of the other reviews on this page, it's just a shame that we cannot do more to stop these people from offering a service they clearly cannot provide.

Moving house is one of the most stressful things and paying for a removal service should be something that makes the move easier however using this company made everything worse and left me in tears. Here is a summary of why you should NOT use them.

This businesss is run by a husband and wife who are equal fraudstars and are only nice up until the point they have your money.

Do not fall for their 'free boxes and packaging' they will not provide you with enough and everything is of poor quality. Then you have to wait ages for them to deliver you more which in turn delays you packing.

What they offer in their quote is very unlikely to be delivered. I was told that I would need a very large delivery truck due to the amount of furniture etc however on the day a van was sent which only stored a third of my belongings. As a result lots of my items including mirrors, beds and cabinets were left damaged as they were crammed in and unprofessionally covered in dirty blankets.

They then suggested that we move the remaining furniture and boxes into my garage and take the van to my new property to unload everything outside and then return for the rest. This is obviously impossible when in a chain and why would I want my furniture left outside of a property that I do not even have the keys to yet. I was truly embarrassed for them when they even suggested this. Because I refused this idea they then arranged for another van to collect the rest of my belongings. This van was also too small and we had to load 3 personal cars with the rest of our stuff and leave some of the garden equipment to the new owners as it just would not fit. The removal men were not phased by this and did not even help us to load our own cars. Instead they sat in their van smoking.

The second van they sent was not their own van and instead was a man and van they hired who had no idea that he was helping move somebody and was instead told that he had to deliver something locally. When the driver of this van realised what he was expected to do he explained that he would be charging an hourly rate. Then the man from UK removal company started to swear at him.

We eventually arrived at our new property which was only a short drive away. On arrival they demanded full payment prior to unloading the van. Apparently this is their policy, I refused to pay until they completed what I was paying for however this escalated into an argument and one of the men spoke to me in an awful manner that cannot even be repeated. They then threatened to drive off with my stuff if I didn't pay so I had no choice. By this point I was in tears.

Throughout this awful experience I was calling Vee and Jay however they would either ignore me or making awful excuses.

I was in contact with them after moving Day as I discovered irrepairable damage to a number of items. I was calling to resolve this however to no surprise they clearly have no insurance however offered another solution which was again never delivered.

Please do not use this company.

House movin and clearance.

I found UK Removals value for money and very helpful as I only had a few days to organise the move and they were able to fit us in on the day requested (within a week of contacted them).  The person who visited the house was very helpful she organised boxes to be dropped off as well as organising a house clearance on the same day. I would definetely recommend them.    .
