Pickfords

Initially we were going to hire a van to move ourselves but health issues meant that this was not going to be possible. We spoke to several removal companies and decided to choose Pickfords. On the day the guys arrived early (they called ahead and asked if we were ok with this) and I could not have asked for better people to help us move. They were absolutely brilliant. I can honestly say that we could not have moved without them! They were polite, helpful, quick thinking and extremely pro-active. I would not hesitate in using Pickfords again and would highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

We only moved just under 2 miles, but had a high volume move which would take 3 days, and we wanted a company to do the fragile packaging too. Pickfords came in competitive on price, and we trusted the sales person the most, and also the name. Nicole, the move manager, was excellent and ensured that she secured availability at the last minute whilst always remaining calm and unflappable (even if I was not at some points!). I first met the team in person when I picked up boxes on the day before packing started: everything was out waiting for me, and I was greeted by name too which was a nice touch. The team of Steve, Chris and Matt turned up exactly when said on the Tuesday to start the fragile packing and preload of van, and went above and beyond to empty the majority of the house that day, working like absolute troopers. Move day came, the rest was loaded, and we were then sitting around waiting for solicitor phonecalls, however these things happen and the team was great to get us in on the day with everything we needed despite the late finish. Returning the next day to unload the final lot, and the team were once again professional, cheerful, fun to be around, and made the experience as stress free as possible. Nothing was damaged, and the creativity they displayed in getting a solid oak table through a small door still confuses me: it looks physically impossible, but they did it. I would (and indeed have) recommended Pickfords to a friend without hesitation: hard working, professional, careful, stress free and cheerful.

What could have been a stressful day was made easy by the professionalism and expertise of the Pickfords removal team. Calls from Stacey in the office and a visit by Carl my move manager to make sure everything was going smoothly gave me confidence in this company, whilst 6 removal men packaged with care the contents of my 4 bedroomed house to go into storage.
I have yet to purchase my new home however I have full confidence that my furniture will be returned with the same excellent standard of care.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Pickfords to anybody who wishes to have their furniture moved with care and without hassle and stress.

The move from the initial consultation (by John Turton) through to delivery at the new address ran exceptionally smoothly.
All aspects of the management of our move were handled professionally by Patricia Hunter.
The pick up at our old address was prompt and carefully undertaken and the delivery to the new address was prompt, efficient and professional throughout. John and Geoff were our removal men - courteous and friendly at all times.
It was a good experience, making it as stress-free as possible.

I have just had a full packing service with two young guys from Pickfords and despite their age they were so polite, friendly and extremely hard working. They looked after my 83 year old mother very well and it was stressful. They delivered early the next day as stored the furniture overnight. Again the next day they worked really hard and got the job done very efficiently. Great service and these guys deserve a medal for all their work. I hope Pickfords appreciate them. The only problem was that I heard they had to travel back to the depot many miles away and slept in the van overnight on a freezing night and yet they still worked hard without complaint. Had I been aware they would have been offered at least a warm room to stay but I guess then there was a matter of insurance. Well done guys, very pleased and they even gave my mum a hug when they left.

Pickfords were excellent from start to finish. Our move was complex, involving storage and moving to the other end of the country. The gentleman who came to quote for us was professional and focused. He listened, and was not 'hard sell' at all.
The Move Manager, Philippa, was exceptional, flexible and helpful. She was endlessly patient and calm with our ever changing completion date. They packed everything for us and it was in storage for 4 months. When it came to moving us into our new house, the crew who came, supervised by the wonderful Carl, were so hard working and cheerful. They moved everything down a hill and up at least one, often three flights of stairs in the sweltering heat. Nothing was too much trouble, and they handled our very heavy and old furniture with care.
Upon unpacking I found everything had been packed with infinite care - not one item broken or lost.
I really recommend Pickfords. They took all the stress out of a complex and difficult move and were totally professional. You really do get what you pay for!

Moved across our village (500 yards!) from a 4-bed to 5-bed house. Pickfords team were excellent. We had the full-packing service and they spread the job over two days. They disassembled (and then reassembled) beds, sofas and shelves and everything was moved on time and with no fuss - really took the stress away from the move. They worked hard with minimal rest breaks and were polite and courteous. The full-pack service was good value and worth every penny in my opinion and only £150 more than the non-packing service. Second time we've used Pickfords and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

As we were moving to a new build house the actual moving date wasn't fixed until late in the process. Pickfords had availability at the required date and came round to "measure up" promptly and a date was set. They offer a cancellation waiver which we took up and it turned out that the move was delayed at very short notice, which Philippa the move manager took in her stride and was able to rearrange for a future date. We also got a courtesy call the day before the move which was appreciated.
The moving team themselves were very good and we could see they were taking care with our items.
all in all cannot fault Pickfords throughout and made a stressful experience less so, so thanks to Phillippa and her team for making things easier.
