We chose Pickfords to do our move to another country. During the packing everything went smooth and they did a nice job. The trouble started during delivery. On the delivery week, they ask you to fill a form where you can choose if you want your items, unboxed or not, we chose unbox everything. Unfortunately, when they delivered our things, everything was left in boxes, they did not even care about unwrapping them. A huge piece of furniture was left standing in the middle of my dining room, a wooden box sealed with nails was also left there, furniture that was disassembled during the move by them, was not assembled back. A huge mess. Besides that, since the delivery took place, more than a month ago, they still have to deliver our dining table. They simply did not even try to deliver saying it was too heavy and they needed more people. They knew how heavy it was and how many people they needed because they removed from my house. We even ask how is the cost of hiring more people’s to deliver it, which was not obligation, since we already paid for it. No answer. I have been emailing Dominic almost daily, and he always says he is asking his team to take care of it asap, and nothing happens. This is extremely frustrating, and I never been in a situation like that, even though we moved abroad a couple times. Dominic told me he would give me an update by today, but ai just email him, and got an out of office message.

I do not recommend this company to anyone. Extremely untrustworthy.

We used Pickfords to move from London and Cambridge to Auckland.
No serious complaints about the packing of the goods or unpacking on arrival. They forgot to list a few key items e.g. bikes and the hoover on the inventory but we spotted this in time.
However, the container was not sealed properly before it set sail and there was a lot of water damage to most of our book collection, ornaments and our leather sofa which we will have to throw away.
The customer service for managing this issue has been really poor. Its now 2 months since our arrival date and the NZ office are making no progress. I am chasing weekly for an update and apparently ‘staff leaving’ is the excuse I have been given for the lack of response. The UK office aren’t much help either as they simply forward my email to my NZ contact in a ‘cut and paste’ fashion ask for an update. I have been told to hold onto the trashed items for the claim, so we can’t dispose of them and this is dragging on and on. It seems once they have your payment then their interest in resolving problems is low priority. I don’t feel I have much leverage other than the small claims option. What a hassle!

I would like to thank both teams for their professional approach to remove the goods from our house store them and then return due to a flood situation. I never expected teams that would be calm, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were sympathetic to our feelings when our house was in a disastrous state and careful when returning the goods not to damage anything. The service provided by Pickfords has been outstanding. Our personal move manager has guided us throughout and kept us fully informed. She is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The move consultant clearly knew what he was doing and gave reassurance. The wrap & pack service was a joy and completely took all the stress away. Both removal men were fantastic. They were polite, respectful and great at their job. Overall, it felt like a team effort with everyone doing their bit to make our move as smooth as possible.

Pickfords collected our items for removal placed them into storage for 5 weeks and delivered to our new address.
From start to finish the move was professional. They turned up on the day on time There were 3 men who loaded the van to perfection
We didn't lift a thing each room Was cleared and loaded. All our belongings went into local storage. When requested they delivered to our new house. Care was taken. Our suite was assembled and bed put together.
Stress was taken out of a large move.
Stacey Fox our Move Co-Ordinator was excellent she rang regularly for updates on our move and slotted us in at very short notice on a Saturday.
An excellent professional stress free experience definitely use again and recommend. Plus extremely competitive so don't bother looking around.

We used Pickfords and opted for their packing service and the disassembly and reassembly of a large wardrobe.
This was our first move for over 30 years, moving from a large family house downsizing to a bungalow less than a mile away. Despite culling a significant amount of furniture and personal items there was still a considerable amount to package and items to move from the house, garden and garage.
Practically all the items were moved to where we requested. Not a single item was damaged and the crew were efficient, punctual and courteous throughout. A large, heavy dining table necessitated a return visit to correct the original re-assembly. A minor glitch.
The service was not the cheapest quote we had but we were more than satisfied with the result.
Highly recommended.

From the first contact with Stacey Fox who was our move manager to the actual move we cannot thank them enough. Stacey was amazing organising a last minute change to put our things into storage as our house (new build) wasn't ready in time.

The lads who did the actual move were awesome. The weather was really hot and they worked amazingly hard to pack everything up and take it all to Cornwall for us.

Would definitely use Pickfords again they took the stress away and would recommend them highly.

Initially we were going to hire a van to move ourselves but health issues meant that this was not going to be possible. We spoke to several removal companies and decided to choose Pickfords. On the day the guys arrived early (they called ahead and asked if we were ok with this) and I could not have asked for better people to help us move. They were absolutely brilliant. I can honestly say that we could not have moved without them! They were polite, helpful, quick thinking and extremely pro-active. I would not hesitate in using Pickfords again and would highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

We only moved just under 2 miles, but had a high volume move which would take 3 days, and we wanted a company to do the fragile packaging too. Pickfords came in competitive on price, and we trusted the sales person the most, and also the name. Nicole, the move manager, was excellent and ensured that she secured availability at the last minute whilst always remaining calm and unflappable (even if I was not at some points!). I first met the team in person when I picked up boxes on the day before packing started: everything was out waiting for me, and I was greeted by name too which was a nice touch. The team of Steve, Chris and Matt turned up exactly when said on the Tuesday to start the fragile packing and preload of van, and went above and beyond to empty the majority of the house that day, working like absolute troopers. Move day came, the rest was loaded, and we were then sitting around waiting for solicitor phonecalls, however these things happen and the team was great to get us in on the day with everything we needed despite the late finish. Returning the next day to unload the final lot, and the team were once again professional, cheerful, fun to be around, and made the experience as stress free as possible. Nothing was damaged, and the creativity they displayed in getting a solid oak table through a small door still confuses me: it looks physically impossible, but they did it. I would (and indeed have) recommended Pickfords to a friend without hesitation: hard working, professional, careful, stress free and cheerful.
