Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Liverpool, Merseyside

No driver available after accepting quote.

Had a job accepted to move a sofa. Paid just under £200. On the day before delivery was advised that no driver had yet been allocated but that one was being sought so didn't worry too much and took the following day off to wait in.

On the day itself the hours rolled by with no driver allocated whilst being assured they were "doing their best" to find someone. Needless to say this didn't materialise but they only admitted this far too late in the day to make alternative arrangements.

Had used before and found to be a good service but when things go wrong don't expect any customer service.

Terrible service.

Having read positive reviews about AnyVan I decided to book and pay online for a removal service for my elderly Grandmother to save her any hassle. Unfortunately the company decided to charge her an extra £60 on the day for moving a chest of drawers instead of a wardrobe - despite there not being any problem with room in the van or lifting the furniture. This caused her distress and confusion, the team were unhelpful and did not offer any way of resolving my complaint. I'd be better off using a local no thrills cash in hand removals firm next time.

NEVER trust this company.

I would give zero stars if I could. After being messed around with drivers cancelling at the last minute, and arguing with the new driver via text over whether I really needed a VAN like I ordered, he showed up the next day with a HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK, which is in no way a VAN. The call centre rep refused to send an actual VAN without charge and wanted me to pay again. He had no intention of assisting me. All he wanted was to rip me off again. He got very uncivil. After long discussion with the call centre, they told the driver to unload the vehicle and leave, and told me that they will not refund for that. The driver left and I had AN HOUR to find another mover. I called the company I previously used, and they provided a van, as I asked. Anyvan made my move super stressful, nightmarish and ripped me off for a service that was not provided.

Beware using their services.

Total Scam! 0 Stars.

I booked my house move and after having paid the "deposit" to book the driver - I was told he's not available after he admitted to just accepting a job for someone else on the date I requested. He then said I booked a different date (which I'm 100% sure I didn't) and he would put the job back on the site. I then called Anyvan and asked for the correct details as I requested initially. I did ask the driver and staff member if I would get the deposit back on my card fully refunded which they both said it would be no problem. In the end I had to book another moving company and now I'm not able to get my deposit refunded back to my card as promised! They offered me credit - which after my experience I would not want to use Anyvan in the future if they were the last moving company on earth and the cheek of them sending me and email to recommend them to friends and family and win a bottle of champagne! We should start an online campaign against this company and possibly programs like "Fake Britain or Panorama". I am looking into legal advice in my case.

Worst Service.

The worst service. Moving home is a stressful situations and they made it more stressful. The agreed time for picking up was 10am and the driver turned up at 8am bearing in mind they charge if you delay the time. Upon arrival the driver complained throughout moving the items and asked me husband to do some work. The worst things is he took a picture of our cooker without our permission. why ?.
Once the items were uploaded to the van he requested extra £38 for the work and we told him we already paid the company £48. Once we got to the new flat the driver refused to offload until we pay the money and they we contacted any van which didn't help becuase they said the driver is self employed. We agreed to pay £20 extra and whilst I was making the payment via any van the driver was off loading. He asked whether we paid and as soon As he got a confirmation he DROVE OFF. He didn't take the stuff inside the building, let left and DROVE off. Ive complained to anyvan who said they will verify what happened. That was 2 wks ago and today they said that I wont even get £20 back. They were rude and they lie to get the money and leave you hanging.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ANY VAN IF YOU WANT A DECENT SERVICE.

Never Pay Before Receiving The Service!!

Never trust this company. I ordered a van and man for moving my home furniture. The driver came without a trolley which is obviously his main tool for this job. As the weather was raining and he was tired and didn't have a trolley then he left my home without any responsibility and left my stuff in the courtyard. I am planning to sue this company but just remember DO NOT PAY BEFORE YOU RECIEVE THE SERIVCE because THEY DOT EVEN REFUND YOUR MONEY!!

Failed to deliver (literally).

All we wanted was a sofa to be moved from one house to another, 10 minutes apart, in a time-slot we'd paid extra for.

Instead, my boyfriend and a friend have endured 4 hours in the cold, then with a sofa in a stairwell after the driver said he would be 20 minutes. The man never came and we had to pay an extra £50 for a private van. A 1 hour event has turned into a 4hour (and counting - he still isn't home) escapade.

The scenario of events is as follows:
1. Book anyvan service to arrive 7-8pm in 2 days. Easy.
2. Get a phone-call on-the-day stating the driver was in a traffic accident - they're looking to replace him. Receive voicemails later that the driver has been replaced. Informed that I should receive tracking information shortly.
3. Finished work, it's now 18:50 - I use the online chat to find out what's happening. I'm told the driver is due between 7-9pm. Not ideal - we had to cancel all plans. We'd paid extra for the 7-8 time-slot, and Boyfriend and Girl had rushed leaving work to be at the location by 7pm. I'm given the driver's contact details and I forward them to Boyfriend the Girl (who is selling her sofa to us).
4. Boyfriend is waiting/ wandering in the cold until about half 8. He phones the driver, who says he is 20 minutes away.
5. 9pm - the driver hasn't followed up on a phonecall to say where he is. I contact customer support. They say he's somewhere at the location, and I'm refunded the £18 I'd paid for not being informed of the the time-slot change. (+1 pt to the kind lady at customer support)
6. By this time, Boyfriend and Girl are making gains shunting a sofa in stairwell - 7 floors. They try to phone the driver - no answer. It's almost 10pm.
7. I try phoning customer support, but they're closed after 10pm. The driver is a ghost. It's down to us to miraculously find a van/ large taxi at 11pm on Friday night. The driver is probably partying.
8. 11pm, Boyfriend and Girl are incredibly lucky to find two polish men with a van who will deliver for 50 squids.
9. Almost 12, Boyfriend arrives home, wet from the rain and looking worse for wear. I'll be sending chocs to Girl as thanks.

Long story short: avoid anyvan. I'll be complaining to customer support for a refund and potentially escalating the service for distress caused to customers, and failure to deliver.

Misleading quotes.

I have booked my move using the quote on the website and 3 days before the move they have informed me that because there is a 1 minute walk from the parking space to my flat, they would charge £19 to £22 pounds on top of the previously agreed quote.
Incredibly misleading. I have to try and find another company to book my moving last minute. This made my move so much more stressful than it should be, I hope they change their unethical methods soon.

Avoid.

Delivery guys came late, picked up my stuff, and were then late by over a day. Wasted a whole day waiting at the drop-off point with many frantic phone calls, them hanging up and telling me to call the main company. Extremely unprofessional and completely remorseless. Ended up with a £10 compensation for the "change of time slot delivery" from the customer service person, though the ironic thing was that the delivery men didn't even make it for that rescheduled time.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Guildford, Surrey

Horrendous joke of a company.

The driver arrived on time, but that's about it. The van was already half full with goods and the driver had no idea about the amount of stuff which needed to be transported. He blamed the company for not providing enough space in the van.
Although there were two persons on the van, they forced me to load all the stuff with them. They also left 3 items because there was no more space left and when I complained the driver blatantly lied and said that not only all the stuff was taken but also some extra things were loaded. Such a ridiculous claim! The company sided with their clown employees. Many of the items were damaged during transit but the company refused to accept any responsibility whatsoever and only offer vain apologies once they've ruined everything.
BEWARE of this dishonest company. If you really want to try their cheap service then gather as much evidence as you can with pictures of before and after and do not sign the delivery fulfilment document unless you are 100% sure that everything is safe. You have to be like Sherlock Holmes to deal with this company.

Do not use - they are not the professional outfit they advertise.

I chose Anyvan as it had a professional looking website but I might as well have just chosen some random off Gumtree.
Phoned to ask exact time of pick up as I'd bought an item off ebay and seller needed to know. Was told by driver (very limited English) that van had broken down earlier and now running late. Gave me an approx pick up time outside the slot I had chosen. Told him it would be too late as seller wouldn't be there and told me he would ring back as on other job. Needless to say he couldn't get there in time, so had no delivery but still charged full price! Ebay seller refunded cost of the item but still £95 out of pocket.

Very Very Bad Experience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE - THEY WILL EXTRA CHARGE YOU ON THE REMOVALS DAY

I had the worst experience with this company. It may seem cheap at first but they will charge you at every little step in the process.

I had a removals planned for my last day at my last flat and the guys from Anyvan arrived there and decided that since the van could not park within 30 feet from the elevator there was no time to do the job and they.. LEFT!

Then the company force me to reschedule and pay an extra 90£ otherwise they would not do the job I had already paid!

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Ipswich, Suffolk

Horrendous experience, even worse customer service.

I had a terrible experience with anyvan - would give them NO stars if possible.

Moving from my one bed flat to my new property 80 miles away - the guys arrived to collect my things 2 hours early and when I explained I wasn’t ready yet, hassled me to commence the move early, which I felt compelled to do.
They then complained that there were more items than listed on my booking - it’s very hard to give an accurate estimate of how many boxes/bags will need to be moved during a house move, but apparently anyvan require a fully accurate listing of ALL items - which is unrealistic and quite frankly ridiculous.

Once the van was packed the guys said they would meet me at the other end. Turns out they were going to another job (40 miles across country away from the delivery point), with all my belongings in their van - nobody informed me this would happen at any point, and during this time the driver was uncontactable.
They finally delivered my goods 4.5 HOURS after finishing the collection.
I am absolutely furious at the service, and after many phone calls to so-called ‘customer service’ didn’t even receive an apology, just repeatedly told ‘we are a multi load company’.
Despite their claims to the contrary, this is not made clear at all on their website, by phone, or by any of the email communications. It is false advertising and they are a bunch of cowboys.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are not fit for purpose, utterly horrendous.

I have since received a paltry £15 compensation only after insisting on speaking to a manager and pointing out the flaws in their service and particularly their advertising.
BEWARE AND SWERVE.

Terrible service.

Altogether terrible service.

The key thing is that AnyVan is just a site that links you to random people with vans. They have no control of quality so it can be really poor.

Dreadful experience overall. Driver did not arrive in the allotted slot, but no notice was given that he was running late. Eventually reached AnyVan and they said he’d be another 2 hours. 3 hours later at 6pm we got a call to say he wouldn’t be coming at all.

They booked us in for the next day but couldn’t guarantee a van. After hearing nothing, the next morning they rang me to say the driver was trying to find his assistant but couldn’t wake him up and asked if we were happy to help him with the move instead.

He turned up an hour late in a battered old van, smaller than we needed with half of someone else’s stuff already inside. He was a nice guy but definitely just a man with a van rather than a mover and things got just piled up randomly inside. Took two trips because of the small van and things got scratched and bashed en route.

Complained to AnyVan but they flatly refused any compensation.

Horrible experience - moving failure.

Unfortunately our move with AnyVan was a complete nightmare. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company.

Our driver was late and we expressed concerns to him that there may not be enough space in the van but he said it would be fine. They had made an error with our inventory but he said it was okay to go ahead. After we brought all of our stuff down to the van and had used half of the space assigned to us he said we could not continue to load the van without paying extra for our smaller items which were not on their incorrect inventory.

Customer service were of no help whatsoever and so we had to unload the van and leave all of our belongings on the street whilst the van drove away.

Pay the extra cash for a reliable service.

I booked for 1 person to move a bed and some other boxes to a location about a 20 minute journey away. The tracker kept saying they were coming but they weren't (it read '9 minutes away' for about an hour) and they were completely uncontactable. No reply to all my calls and messages.

When they did arrive, there were two people not one so there wasn't space in the cab for me and my friend. Then they said that insurance prevented us from travelling in the cab anyway. That would be fine, if it had said ANYWHERE beforehand online, or the person I spoke to, so I had to organise an uber last minute.

I just wish I had paid £10 extra to set up the whole delivery with the person who owned the van directly, who picked up the phone, who didn't get lost on the journey but then refuse to pick up the phone so I could help give directions. Bad experience.

AnyVan moving was terrible.

I used this service to move my one bed flat to another in London. They were unprofessional on arrival, they were late with the delivery of everything so I was sitting in a flat with nothing for 4 hours until the arrived to start unpacking. They didn't help me bring my boxes in, just left them on the street. All in all terrible. Would give it a negative star if I could and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Buyer Beware: They Will Leave You Stranded.

BUYER BEWARE: THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY UPFRONT BUT ACCORDING TO THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS THEY DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE TO TURN UP, LEAVING YOU OUT OF POCKET. I was left stranded after thinking I've booked a reliable service. They don't update you on the driver's whereabouts and in fact I was given a 12hr move timeframe from 8am-8pm. They called at 1730 to tell me the driver assigned couldn't make it, and they would make new arrangements. At 1930 they called to say they would need to book the job for the following morning and would call me at 0900. At 1000 I called and was told they had no drivers in my area that day. After I cancelled the manager Paul told me they would have been able to help me if I hadn't cancelled the job a few minutes earlier. Honestly, you can get cheaper, reliable service from movers who don't want you to itemise everything. I ended up doing that in the end. The most alarming thing was that the manager told me according to a clause in their terms and conditions they don't have to turn up for a job - even though they have taken your money. They could always just refund it.. it takes 3 days to reach your bank account.
If you don't have money to spare then I wouldn't risk using Anyvan. They pretend to be bigger and more efficient than they are, but lack communication and customer service skills. See Google reviews.

They cancel/rescheduled without warning you in advance.

Hi,

It's for a room removal:
- Book removal 3 weeks in advance.
- With a extra cost of 13P for 2 hours window 11.00 to 13.00
- 12h45 called to ask what's going on, answered they'll be late, rescheduled between 14.00 to 15.00
- then called back customer service, who tell me they will there after 15.30
- They came at 16.00, good point for their efficiency everything load in 30 min.
- they where fast for the transport (but already late for the final)
- Unload extra fast (with the help of the customer)

Do not use this service if you have a time constraint or a daily obligation, you might be in trouble on the situation you try to solve using this company.

Shocking company.

Turned up late, refused to move my possessions into their apartment because "The company had booked too many jobs and you can complain to them" and left by stuff on the street. Lost for words, do not use these people. Complained to the company who said sorry we have no available movers to help you. Unbelievable.

Obviously Trustpilot is corrupt and makes money from the fees its advertisers pay them - do not believe their ratings on there. Sort by recent reviews and look at how many unhappy customers there are like this.

Poor standard and untrustworthy.

For moving and storage, they sent inadequate number of removal staff who did not look professional and brought already used boxes of wrong size. They said they will need to buy some appropriate boxes and need to send in at least one more person at a later time. I had lost confidence in them by then so I said I would like to cancel. They said they would ring back to arrange refund but even now a few weeks later they have not got back to me. I messaged and rang them again and no response. It added extra stress and they charged £655 for doing nothing.

1 bed flat move - all good.

AnyVan provided 5 quotes for a 1 bed flat move with in London. We chose Eco_Move from the quotes as they were the cheapest and had good reviews. We had to pay a £74 deposit to secure the booking, this was taken from the overall payment of £222.

Two guys arrived on time, really got stuck in with the heavy lifting and were friendly and professional. They looked after our mirrors and used blankets and bungee cords to secure delicate items. Completed the whole move, door to door in 2 hours. We paid the balance in cash to the drivers and received text confirmation of receipt later that day.

Moving from store to flat across London.

No complaints! Did what it said on the tin: 2 guys, nice, strong helpful and cheery removed items from store, secured them in the van and transported them across London on a Friday evening and then took one piece on to the repairer even though it was not on their worksheet (but had been prearranged with HQ) with no argument. Using them again in a week or so and hope I have a similar experience. Not cheapest quote I received but seemed to be a reputable and good sized company who had many satisfactory reviews. Don't book it until you know you want it and then you won't lose your deposit. Thats what a deposit is about - a guarantee for them.

It all went well. The people at Anyvan were very helpful. The driver was also helpful and polite. He helped get it off the van and into the house. The van was large, clean and in good condition. The price was cheap at £75.

UKWay was INCREDIBLE- his quote was half the price of the others.

Our van driver was absolutely amazing! When we had trouble arranging payment to the seller he had all sorts of solutions, and eventually just came to us first to get the money to pay for the sofa he was picking up for us! Then, incredibly, when the sofa wasn't fitting up the stairs to our third floor flat, instead of giving up, he found his tools, took it apart, and then put it back together for me when it was in place! I couldn't have been happier with his service. On top of everything, I was arranging all of this with him from overseas, via messaging. No problem! Thanks again AnyVan for your driver, and your customer service when I called for advice.
