      Move whitin St Albans.

I hate writing bad reviews and normally don't but our experience with St Albans removals and Alfie was exceptionally bad.

Initially on the phone with Alfie, after I clearly listed all we have to move and moving literally 5 minutes away, we were told a price of 'around £450'. Then on inspecting our contents and opening all our cupboards and draws which we found very weird especially as we said we will be packing ourselves, we were told 'around £900'. We said their price seems unreasonable and we don't like the 'around'. He asked how much we are willing to pay, we said not more than £750. Agreed.

But then as our house was not ready for us to move in on the agreed day, we called Alfie to ask if we could postpone the move for a couple of days as we have a two year old child and we will not have heating and hot water in the new house nor a working kitchen. Very rudely he stopped me talking and said none of it is his problem and he will not move the day at all, he will await a confirmation for the day already agreed then put the phone down. We already had a bad feeling about this company and their boss, this just confirmed our feelings and we really didn't like how manipulative he…

      Great service.

Alfie and guys(Liam and Ricky) were very professional took care of all the stuff. Loading the prepacked falt and packing the kitchen. The guys took care of the fragile stuff very well. Made sure to ask us where we wanted our furniture in the new place and assembled the ones if requested. All in all happy with the service provided. A tip to remember if booking them, always request them to visit the property prior to the move else there are awkward moments where the fixed price has to move due to the size of the move is not what was assumed by each party. Happens to the best of us. Alfie gave us a good deal, covered the second trip without charge for the extra bits. Would definitely do business again. Cheers guys!

Long-distance move from St Albans, Hertfordshire to Uckfield, East Sussex

Great move + friendly and prepared to go the extra mile!

I’ve used Alfie to move twice in the last year, once just as the first lockdown was starting, and a second time a year later based on the first one thing excellent service provided the first time.

Great team, very friendly, always willing to do extra (which you discover along the way) and very competitive rates. Turned up on time and also provided plenty of interesting conversations and stories to enlighten the stress of a house move!

Helpful hint: when you get quotes from Alfie including a range assume the top price (but it will still be competitive as I had 3 quotes for my last move and Alfie was the most flexible on dates and had competitive prices)

Responsive, helpful and great team

Alfie and his team agreed to do our move during the busiest time of the year

(Stamp duty cut off). It was quite a big job and we took their packing service too. The team were friendly and experienced. They were also nice characters and patient! It’s all important on a stressful move day! Thank you to the whole team for the hard work. We appreciated it.

Long-distance move from St Albans, Hertfordshire to St Albans, Hertfordshire

Very accomodating

Moved from our storage unit to St Albans just before Christmas 2021. Was able to move us with a smaller van with multiple journeys due to narrow street access. They managed to manoeuvre our furniture through some narrow doors, and also managed to reassemble our furniture quickly. Top marks for them for waiting with me at the storage warehouse when my 24 hour access wouldn't work and I had to wait ages for a response from the on call manager! Would highly recommend.

Long-distance move from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire to Knebworth, Hertfordshire

Last minute booking

Alfie and team came to our rescue 10 days before our move which was 5 days before Christmas when our previously arranged company could no longer service that date. The price was within range of other previous quotes we’d had but a bit more than our arranged company. It was for packing too but he did ask us to do some ourselves for the price quoted. The team were efficient and polite and took care of my new carpet at the new house. They put the beds and sofa back together and nothing got broken at all. Alfie likes a cuppa so make sure you’ve got the kettle to hand. I would have no problem recommending this company.

Long-distance move from St Albans, Hertfordshire to Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

A stressful move made easy

Alfie and his helper really went above and beyond to make our move easy, as simple as possible and as stress-free as we could all manage. Considering it was a move from St Albans to Nottingham, not an insignificant distance, Alfie made sure our minds were at ease the entire time and handled our goods in a courteous, respectful and professional manner. Would recommend Alfie and his team to anybody and everybody!

Friendly, efficient and stress free

We managed to book Alfie and his team for a last minute job with just one week’s notice. They moved us from East London to St Albans. All our goods were packed very efficiently and they managed to squeeze our furniture round some of the narrowest corners without damage. All the team were very friendly and made our moving day a very relaxed process. We will definitely be recommending them to others.

Internal house move

Alfie and his team came at relatively short notice to help move my elderly mother into a downstairs bedroom. From start to finish they were very courteous and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were very patient while we decided which items of furniture would fit best in the new bedroom. Their customer service is excellent and I was kept fully informed of when they would arrive at my parents’ house. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Three location removals

I thought this job would be tricky as other companies were not keen to take it on but Alfie did not seem fazed at all and gave me a competitive estimate.

He and his team moved items of furniture, including a piano from Coventry to Princes Risborough and different items on to St Albans.

They got there when they said they would, were friendly, polite and respectful and just got on with the job.

Everything went smoothly and I have no complaints at all.

Long-distance move from Barnet, Greater London to Hayes, Greater London

St Albans Removals, Co. & Staff- excellent service.

We were fortunate to have St Albans Removals move us from St Albans to Hayes recently. We found them to be professional and friendly, caring of our possessions, calm and methodical, prompt and very very helpful. In fact they even fixed things that we had previously broken too (ie. a smoke detector on the ceiling) - a first class service. When we moved 3 years ago and were moved by another removal company, we were quoted a very cheap price BUT we ended up paying double the quoted price because that company charged by the hour.  St Albans Removals is not like this. St Albans Removals give you one fixed price for the whole job, how ever long it takes, and the price they quote is the price you pay. Which is brilliant! You know exactlly how much it will cost you. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending St Albans Removals (www.stalbans-removals.co.uk) to anyone wishing for a smooth, calm, first class and reasonably priced move. We will most definately use them again in the future.

House removal St Albans to Norwich.

We used St Albans Removals for a house move from St Albans to Norwich. They got the job done in one day, despite a long drive there and back, price-matched a competitor, and helped at every stage of the move, from providing boxes to advice on how to pack a garage full of junk! Alf, the owner, is very friendly as were all the team.
