Relocate Removal Company Limited

The salesman /estimator Bernhard was very knowledgeable and confidence inspiring. We chose RR based on this, even though they were not the cheapest quote we received. They moved us to Daventry from London over 2 days using a large lorry and a Luton transit. The first day packing seemed to go well.
Day 2:
The Luton had a crash on the way and our stuff had to be rescued from the damaged van by the lorry, which caused a delay.
Various items were broken including our dining table and a number of items were lost through this happening.
Although the removal men said that the office would sort out payment for any damage, this proved not to be the case as they will not pay out for anything under £500, even though there was presumably a vehicle insurance claim made.

There seemed to be problems contacting the vans due to mobile phone signals, which made communications difficult.

We had been told that portable wardrobe containers would be used for our clothes, but found a number of suits pushed into normal packing boxes still on the hangers and ended up very creased.

The company were unable to get our piano into the room we wanted it to go into, even though a similar one had just been moved out of the same room. In the end we had to get a piano removal company in, who did the job in 5 minutes.

I think our move became too complicated for the Relocate Removal Company and the office were not helpful when things went wrong. The accident was probably bad luck, but I would advise you not to use them if you have a piano.

I used Relocate Removals after meeting Bernard and being convinced by his patter that they were a good company to go with. I had 2 large sofas to move from the second floor. I informed Bernard at our initial meeting that the arms would have to come off in order for the sofas to go down the stairs without causing any damage. On the day the movers decided not to take the arms off that the 2 seater sofa and ended up breaking a window on the landing whilst trying to get it down the stairs. However, they didn't seem to think that this was their fault and suggested that it wasn't a problem as the property was owned by the Council and they would pay for the window. Not the case as being a leaseholder I was responsible for repairing the window. I informed Relocate and was told to present them with a bill which I did. They then informed me that they would not be presenting it to their insurers as it didn't meet the criteria. They also damaged the walls of the stairwell, something which I will also have to pay for.

But maybe it was a good thing they didn't remove the arms of the 2 seater sofa because in reassembling the 3 seater they damaged the arm. However, as I didn't notice this until days later it was too late to do anything about it (Relocate state you must inform them within 48 hours of any damage).

Have to say, not impressed at all with the service and certainly would not recommend to anyone.

We were given a quote for packing, removal and unpacking after 3 visits. We accepted it and the dates as well as the number of persons who would carry out the tasks were agreed.However, on the day when our possessions were to be packed, only two of the four promised staff turned up two hours late and after several follow ups. The owner of the company was rude, uncouth, aggressive, put the phone down on us. We ended up paying substantial money to the greatly underpaid staff who complained endlessly about the owner. The packing which was supposed to be done in one day, took two days and we had to pay extra money to all the additional staff who were sent to help. We were charged an additional £180 by the owner (Bill Conlon).

Despite our generosity, we were distressed that a lot of our possessions, mainly alcoholic drinks, an expensive watch, an expensive pen, exclusive chocolates etc were stolen.
The insurance does not kick in for first £500 and we did not get any compensation.

A very stressful experience which we will never forget and would not wish anyone else to have.

This company does not deserve to survive.

Relocate Removals moved us on 07.11.11 with packing and unpacking service and everything went without any problems.
We found the office and removal staff extremely professional in every thing they did, nothing was too much trouble for them. Bill Conlon (Manager) should be very proud of his staff and the way they conduct themselves, in and out of the office.

We have no hesitation in recommending this company to family and friends, and if we decide to move again, they will be the ones we choose.

The 3 drivers arrived half an hour early and waited outside, until they felt we were happy for them to commence.

All the drivers were all very energetic,helpful and careful with our personal belongings,& basically told us not to lift things,that is what they were here for,they just needed our assistance with where to place items.

Every effort was made, to ensure all our household items,were stacked into the correct position for safety and to ensure that all the items in our house would fit correctly.

We would strongly recommend this company,from start to finish,they offered us a friendly and efficient service,from the sales guy,to the phone calls in the office making the booking,right up till the last item was offloaded from our vehicle into our new home!

It was the best £600.00 we have ever spent,& worthwhile, as having a removal company,saved us a lot of time,as literally unpacked all our boxes within 48 hrs,so we felt very at home more or less straight away.

Well done,for offering a top dollar service and for being in touch with what your clients require.

We would highly recommend Relocate Removals. The office staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The paperwork was dealt with efficiently and I appreciated the courtesy call checking the details prior to the move. The removals guys arrived promptly and remained cheerful, friendly, helpful and practical throughout the move. I actually didn't want them to go and leave me with the the boxes! Just want to say a HUGE thank you to all at Relocate Removals from the office staff, the packers and the guys who loaded the van on moving day.  What a great bunch of people you have working for you.  They made the whole experience quite enjoyable and not the stressful couple of days we thought it would be!!  Everyone was very professional and cheerful and did a great job - the guys who moved all the furniture and boxes onto and off the lorries  worked so hard.  They moved all the garden tubs as well - and they weighed a ton!!   No mean feat.   We would happily recommend your company to our friends and family next time they are in need of a removal firm.  Again, many thanks for a job extremely well done!!
