Move Me Easy Ltd

These people are very, very sad. The problem is that they are absolutely incompetent - but they don't even know it! They damage and scratch furniture and don't even know how to take care. They have obviously just got a van and think they can throw people's stuff in it. They then extort extra for non-existent 'waiting time' and then threaten physical violence and recrimination if you don't pay up.
Don't let these people anywhere near your life, let alone give them your address.

Service cost: £350

Total disaster: Our goods were damaged and filthy and our calls and email have been ignored. We ended up packing all our fragile items ourselves as all they'd brought was a dozen copies of a free paper even though we'd paid extra for the service. They also didn't bring the promised covers and the inside of the van was filthy. The piece de resistence though was that they went to the totally wrong address in a completely different part of London, got clamped and we had to pay to get them released!

We booked with Peacocks but they're the same shoddy outfit as Move Me Easy - Gelu Singh in charge of both.

Worst experience of moving. Total opposite of "move me easy" hence probably why Gelu Singh renamed his company to Peacock Removals.
Was stood up several times for the quotation. When finally showed he quoted me £350, I said I found cheaper with simply removals and he was assuring me that he would do the best job, provide boxes, disassemble and reassemble my stuff. He even said he would personally supervise the move.
Before move I said I was planning on getting the place professionally cleaned, he said he could do it for me cheaper "like for like". £200. His quote for move claimed to of had furniture coverings too.
Day of move was stressful enough having packed my life up for a few days. Whilst his workers was hardworking and friendly enough. Gelu didn't show up to supervise, cleaner started late and I was asked to go to new house to open the door only to be told on route they were going to be an hour later than they should of been so there's me driving around like a headless chicken leaving the movers unattended at my flat.
When movers had all packed up, they were demanding remainder of th money. I said I would pay on completion of the job. To my shock, now I was informed that they were instructed to just dump my furniture all on the ground floor as the carpet was now wet and had to dry. I expected a steam clean not a shampoo clean.
On meeting the cleaner, she had been using bleach all over my house. Failed to know what needed cleaning, such as the fridge and washing machine, on telling her, it was a crap job still. Cobwebs was still visible. House took 3/4 days to dry and lime scale was still on taps. I called and complained to Gelu and he said more dosh to have the job complete. Nutshell, he sounds professional. Worst moving experience ever. Oh furniture was damaged too.
