Booked removals and from day 1 communication was no existent.. I should of listened to my gut feeling.
Removal can turned up and goods would not all fit on the van.. The company tried to say this was our fault.
Our garden furnature was taken by a different company and the boss David said he would sort it out.
Again calls were never returned and I needed to go direct to their office.
Once there, I was told the transport of extra goods was down to me and told to call a mobile number for the other company. The other company even said they thought DMG was sorting it out.
The office never returned my calls before and after the move and blamed me for their errors.
Stay away from this company at you peril.

Service cost: £1500

Very disappointing. Ordered a bed from Bensons and the bed was delivered to their warehouse on 26 September. It took me three weeks to get a date for delivery to my house. Phone calls were never returned. Finally a date was agreed and was told the name of the courier who they were passing it to for delivery. I had understood they were delivering the bed. That date was 25 October when we would be at the house, our holiday home. When we arrived the Friday before on 19th, the bed had been delivered by a different courier and left in the porch. The packaging clearly said "This way UP" and two of the three packages were upside down. Both headboard and footboard were damaged. I rang DMG to complain and said we had agreed a date and they did not let me know the date had changed. Also was appalled at the way in which it was left in the porch with bootprints all over the packaging. Photos of the damage have been taken. DMG could not have cared less. No apology. No explanation as to why it was delivered on a day when they knew we would not be there. Bensons have been informed and are investigating. Would check that any furniture company does not use DMG as a go between ever again. Would not use this company.

I would advise anyone not to use this company! They provide awful service, were very slow move and made the job last a full day in an attempt to charge more money and at the end of the move had lots of damaged goods which they claim they didn't cause!  Communication from them was very bad and service was awful during and after the move.  You will have damaged goods and will not be reimbursed.  Come across as very helpful and professional when requesting a quote and when confirming their services, pity that service didn't continue for the move and after the move when reporting damages (which they claim you have 7 days to do) which is pointless as they will claim they didn't cause it and won't budge from that stance.

I would also agree that this company gives terrible service. They didn't bother coming out to see property and then when I called them to add a few things they upped the price. This was fair enough but the night before the move they phoned to say they would have to up the price again. We were really up against a rock and a hard place by then. We had used their packing service the day before and were assured that it would take all the stress off us. When the movers arrived they were angry at us as the packers hadn't packed properly. On the day of the move they were very angry and unfriendly (again they hadn't listened to their packers the day before re the parking. We were subjected to a torrent of abuse about the packing having not been done correctly as if it was our fault and it was very stressful. They then proceeded to angrily throw things into boxes. Many things were broken when we started unpacking. Upon arrival at the new house two of the men just walked off the job and left us with only one guy for three hours. They made what they had called a " stress free move" extremely stressful. The feedback afterwards was terrible. I was consistently told that the owner would phone me back but this never happened. When contacted about service and breakages they said " I'm not calling you a liar" which basically means we don't care. After yet another promised phone back that never materialised to discuss the service we are left frustrated and with many broken items with no apologies. Don't be fooled by the professional service on the phone. She is very nice and helpful. The owner/company itself does not give two hoots once they have your money. Never use this company.

The office staff were very helpful and guided you through the process and did their utmost to get me the cheapest quote that they could looking at every option (eg Sharing space in one van)

The delivery men were finished in an hour and a half which was outstanding. They were very friendly and efficient.

We had completely forgotten two chairs that were at the first pickup, when we told them about it, they offered to go back and fetch them.

When it came to unloading they phoned me when they were an hour away so that I didn't need to take the whole day off work. They were friendly and very helpful. Everything placed in the areas they were going to be unpacked in.

Great service, have already recommended them to people.

Moving home is a traumatic experience but from the very start of contacting DOG Direct there was friendly professional help all the way. I only had a small window of opportunity in which to move and really thought no one would be able to accommodate me. I explained my situation and the office girls sorted everything out for me. Being wheelchair bound I had to ask for the company to pack me up as well as move me. Nothing seemed to be a problem for this company and sure enough on the removal day the two removal men packed all my belonging and transferred them without loss or damage to anything. As a crafter I had lots of breakable and easily lost tiny bits and pieces. I can't believe nothing was lost or damaged. The speed at which they unloaded my belongings meant that the job was completed just as I arrived at my new flat..incredible! I cannot recommend this company highly enough so if you're thinking of moving then look no further than DMG Direct. They are a good solid company who perform very well and do exactly what they say they will do.

In all fairness I can only say:
- Awkward quotation and pricing system.
- Nice people to speak to, attentive and friendly moving team.
- Failed to tell me when they would arrive
- Emails bordering on chaotic (wrong dates, prices, missing attachments etc)
- They broke my TV and damaged the family china
- They left muddy footprints on a cream carpet
- No after - sales care at all. When I told them of the damage they just did a disappearing act.

We had a fantastic experience with DMG direct, who moved us from Glasgow to Stirling. They arrived promptly and from the time they arrived they were thoroughly helpful and organised. They carried out the job with good humour and were very friendly and efficient. The guys were off to do a second removal after they left us in Stirling, it is a very tough job physically, and they deserve all credit for the professional manner in which they carry out their job. I would definitely use them again, however, hopefully not in the foreseeable future. When I decided to use DMG, I had contacted a few companies to get some quotes, there were ridiculously cheap quotes which I didn't consider, and some really high quotes, I thought DMG were a good price and this is why I chose them, and also because someone came to survey the house before the quote was made concrete which for me was more secure than an estimate based on a list emailed to them.

Service cost: £840

I had booked for a midday move but they did not turn till almost 2pm. I had to call them the day numerous times to try and find out what was happening as I was unaware that they were not coming at the time asked for. I had my buyers waiting in my driveway at to move in. I had to remove most of my belongings myself. Luckily I had some friends to help. I was unaware of any problem only when I enquired as to the delay it became clear that another removal had been squeezed by the company resulting in me being left high and dry! I booked a company to help remove any stress. A big mistake to book DMG. When they did eventually arrive the guys to be honest were more than helpful and embarrassment at the situation.

Service cost: £384

Pay a little extra and go with more reliable company. They refused to put my wardrobes together when they delivered and they lost a box of my belongings. They admitted the guys who picked up my belongings didn’t pass on that the wardrobes has to be put back together. Two months later they have finally given me back a fraction of the value of the goods lost. I should stress that the only reason I managed to get anything back is because I phoned continuously. I might have been able to accept mistakes happen if they handled the situation with professionally and with respect but they never once returned a phone call when they said they would, I had to constantly chase them. Very proactive until they get the booking confirmed and paid. As soon as they have your money any customer service goes out the window. Judging by some of the reviews I’m not the only one who has had this type of experience with them. AVOID!!

Poor does not describe how bad this company is, my furniture arrived damaged with water, dust, dirt and banged, broken, marked and they did nothing but complain when they arrived in Northampton. Two men, two vans with furniture from a four bedroom house and garden. The owner David McGregor is a horrible unprofessional man. They accepted that they had damaged some of my goods, I submitted estimates for £13,000 for the repair to my damaged furnishings and they said they did not have Insurance to cover the repair. This has been a complete nightmare, I am a woman on my own, senior citizen, they have treated me and my property with complete disrespect.
Do not go anywhere near them. I have been trying to sort this out now since July 2018 and now hear they have gone out of business. I hope so! please take note of the name as they are to be avoided at all cost. They changed the price a number of times. Dkistressing does not cover it!

DO NOT USE

Firstly, the guys arrived 2 hours late for the job, which not only left me in a panic that they would be a no show but also pushed back all our other works planned for the day.

But secondly, and most importantly, they demanded extra money, leaving me with little other option than to pay them.
My quotation was based on a 16ft storage container, filled with household goods and furniture.
I even emailed to clarify this with a member of their staff as they had left the “inventory” section on my quotation blank.
NO WHERE in my paperwork did it state that my quote would be based on the size of van & nr of runs.
However, when the removal guys arrived that is exactly what they tried to claim.
Despite the fact they were unable to send me any paper trail proving this point they insisted on an extra £100 for a second run.
My options were low, I had to be out of the storage unit ASAP as it was booked the following day and I was unable to find another removal company at such short notice. Therefore I had no other option but to begrudgingly pay them the extra £100.

They made the whole day stressful and quite intimidating.
I even had to threaten police action at one point as they held all my goods hostage in their van until I paid them in full, for half a job, as quoted!

I could understand if I had in anyway understated the amount to be delivered but I stated a 16ft container FILLED with furniture and household goods and that is exactly what they got and what they had priced for in my initial quotation.
They also blamed me for “terrible access” This was due to the fact they refused to take their van up the drive and had to walk up a driveway to a ground floor flat.
After later looking into some google reviews, I could see that this had happened to several people prior to myself.
They fobbed this off as rival competitors trying to bad mouth them or the fact that the company had previously run under a different owner.
However, I find it very coincidental that all these people experienced the same issue as me.
AVOID at all costs!

I am totally disgusted with David Mcgregor who should have been at our house tonight at 5pm to complete a survey cost.

No show, not a phone call, text or email to explain the reason for no show.

If this is how he treats customers for a survey, in my opinion he could possibly be a no show on your removal day.

A friend advised us that since David took over from his father the service has gone drastically down hill.

Distressed Client due to move in 12 days time.

Cost - £ 1440.00 for removal - £300 for hire van – Compensation for their mistakes NOTHING!! Not even a sorry!!

Finally, my husband and I have recovered, after the most upsetting and distressing, move we have ever experienced, and experienced we are, as we have moved 5 times in the past 7 years, in and around Scotland … All other moves were, ‘hard work’ but nothing more than you would expect, when moving a four-bedroom house. I so wished I had acted upon my gut feeling, I very nearly booked another company due to a disturbing lack of communication from DMG Direct. Many of my emails in the lead up to the move went completely unanswered. I only decided to continue with this company because of their cancellation fees and because when they finally did reply it came just days before our move.
I completely don’t understand why, when I had shown concern about extra boxes they never once suggested someone should come out and make an informed decision for themselves? Other companies did send someone to look at the amount that required moving and their estimates were not dissimilar to DMG Directs, however, as their website boasted “REMOVAL SPECIALISTS” “LET US TAKE THE STRESS OUT OF MOVING” and being a significant move (distance wise) this is just what we wanted and were happy to pay for!
Amazingly DMG Direct, HAD actually moved us two years previously!! Without any mention of weight or problems with capacity… . DMG Direct moved us with NO problems whatsoever. .. same items .. identical move.. apart from distance. So, why could they manage our move the first time without any difficulties whatsoever, but failed so badly the last time?? Simply because they brought the appropriately sized van the first time !!
When asking if chest of drawers needed to be emptied of their contents they replied yes, if that was possible, hence the suitcases and extra boxes. Their supervisor suggested, that instead of the 75 boxes that I had stated, there were 126 …. This was just NOT true, I counted them as I opened them and although, there were 93, many of these boxes were very small, examples of sizes of many of the boxes were 10”x12” - 15” x 5.5” - 13” x 13”.
Nevertheless, the removal men insisted it was not the number of boxes but the weight that was the crucial issue. Never once was weight mentioned as a crucial issue with them in the booking process, they had only ever referred to Cubic feet …that was until the morning of the move… Then all the supervisor could say was, weight just too much weight … Again, I ask, why was this never mentioned before? If someone had been bothered to actually, come out and see for themselves, this most awful day could have been avoided … My husband’s suggestion that we leave the washing machine behind, was met with total disdain … however the weight of a washing machine plus all the furniture we were now not taking, was definitely comparable to the weight and cubic feet space of boxes that the removal men REFUSED to take on board.
The removal van allocated was clearly FAR TO SMALL for the job… so along with the 40 boxes that we moved ourselves, (tearing my shoulder ligament) our garden furniture had to be left behind.
The van had seriously rusting doors, was old and in my opinion, not fit for purpose and our possessions were left out in the rain during the loading with absolutely no concern whatsoever.

We were left totally in the lurch with 40 boxes, we had no choice but to hire a van and take them ourselves with all the logistical difficulties of arranging a van hire at short notice.… We are retired, in our 60’s and my husband had been seriously ill. This was just too much for us and I feel it very, very irresponsible of the company. The van hire cost £300 in total … moneys we would have gladly paid to a removal company, for a professional “Stress free move”. Nonetheless, if all that was not bad enough, what greeted us at the other end was indeed the last straw.
All furniture, boxes and suitcases had been clearly marked, saying where they were to go…. Yet MOST boxes were left in different rooms .. So, a box marked conservatory ended up on the top floor… Boxes and especially suitcases marked Top floor, were left on the first floor and in the garage! It was suggested the men couldn’t take stuff up to the top floor, because if was “Full” !!… I went up to see… someone, had placed the chest of draws at the opening to the dressing area, leaving plenty of unused space behind them….
However, what really broke my heart, was the damage done, to not only our beautiful furniture but also to the house itself … damage to the wood floor and bashes to the walls…and our beautiful furniture, scuffed and chipped and to add insult to injury … guess what!! DMG Direct’s, Insurance does NOT cover damage to goods or property at all … BE WARNED !!

We used the removal and storage services. This last one for over 7 months. service and communication was fine until we got our belongings delivered. Some items are missing and we also got someone else's. It's been over a week and they haven't gotten in touch with us nor reply to our phone calls and emails. If you are looking for a quick removal service where you are going to supervise the whole thing, then this company is adequate, however I would not recommend this for storage. They are not careful with people's belongings, the very fact that I ended up with missing items and with some of other people is proof of that. .
