Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Great removal service.

I would definitely recommend Clapham Removals. The three guys were very fast but careful, really strong and made the move as stress free as possible.
Although we were kept waiting by the exiting tenants and had to hang around for 2 hours before being able to unload, the guys were patient and tried to make up the time on the second run as quickly as possible. The quote above doesn't include VAT and covered the average amount of furniture for a large 2 bedroom flat in South London.

A pain-free move!

The 2-man team were on time, super fast and cheerful. They also got a sofa up a narrow flight of stairs that I wondered might not fit! I'd definitely recommend Clapham Removals if you want a stress-free move. The guys offered to move any bits of furniture around once it was in the flat and had a sense of humour - especially when the front door keys didn't work! Much needed!

Unfortunate Experience.

I chose Clapham Removals because I had read other good reviews online but I was really shocked at what I got with them. The person who provided the estimate for me never responded to my email queries once I had paid a deposit. He offered to bring boxes and didn't show up until I called four days later to chase them up. The crew was poorly trained and during a two-day move were not the same guys on each day, so I felt like I was re-explaining how and where I wanted things placed in the new house. They damaged a lampshade during the move and tossed picture frames unwrapped into boxes. They assembled a wardrobe in the wrong room, and this was after I gave them a floorplan showing the placement of all the furniture. Another wardrobe was assembled only with packing tape across the back of it, so flimsy that I was almost able to push it over with one finger. They balked about carrying a clothes dresser to a first floor bedroom, and finally did it after my arm twisting by a wing and a prayer. The shouting between them was so tense I had to stand outside out of earshot. They snapped the dowels off of a bookcase and it lay in pieces, disassembled in my son's room for two weeks after the move while they ordered replacement dowels. The list is long.. Whenever there was a mistake made they were willing to make good and rectify it, but who wants to have to deal with all this rectification? You just want to move. And the coup de grace was finding dozens of cigarette butts (the crew's - we don't smoke) when we were cleaning out the garden of our old house after they had moved us out. Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more with someone professional like Burke & Wills. I wish I hadn't gone with Clapham Removals.

Clapham Removals.

This is the second occasion on which I have used Clapham Removals - I have found them to be efficient, good value for money and delivering exactly the service they are commissioned to deliver. On both occasions, the office staff taking the booking and the guys who do the moving have been professional and good natured. I'm happy to give them a big 'thumbs up' and will certainly consider them next time I am contemplating moving furniture.

Excellent service in every way - highly recommended.

I received 3 quotes, with Clapham Removals in the middle of the 3, and I am extremely happy that I chose them for the job. They were highly professional, efficient, competent, careful, and friendly. Even when things got complicated (one item couldn't fit up the stairs, so had to be hoisted through a window), there were no negative comments - just a confident "we'll get it done". Everything was superbly packed, and this may be the first time I've ever moved without a single breakage. Great job!

Relocation London to Bristol.

Great service, friendly and professional. Great team who packed our whole flat up on the Thursday with the same team driving it all to Bristol the following morning and unloading it at our new flat in the appropriate room. Polite, approachable and trustworthy. Very respectful of any requests including making sure our cat didn't escape! Everything wrapped and boxed with care. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Fast, efficient and fairly priced.

Adam and Lucy at Clapham Removals proved that they can offer a similar service to the larger nationals without the associated cost. The team was friendly, trustworthy and efficient. The move was only around the corner, but the packing was professional and no chances were taken with fragile items. We had a delivery of boxes prior to the packing date so that we could start on the boxing up, but everything else was managed for us on the day. I would definitely recommend them for any similar local move.

Clapham Removals Review.

Clap-ham Removals - Thank you for an excellent service from reservation to delivery. I moved across London alone in February and needed two men, a van and some help! Good communication throughout (email, telephone and in person) and very friendly staff both inside and outside the office! I didn't encounter any problems, and was given any boxes / materials that I needed on the day. Would recommend you to friends in future.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Dartford, Kent

Friendly, professional, conscientious.

We used Clapham Removals to move from Balham to Dartford in May 2017. From start to finish we were extremely impressed with their service, from Adam coming round to do the quote to the move itself. The two guys doing the move were very friendly, polite and patient and took good care of our things. We were moving from a very awkward position in Balham, a one bed flat right on the high road on a red route so it was important that we got away as quickly as we could - we managed to get everything in the lorry in just over a hour and a half, and we did have a very large amount of furniture and other items which completely filled the lorry. Very smooth on the other end too. There was a sense that they wanted to move us as economically as possible in terms of the time they took, and there were a couple of other nice touches like throwing in a few of their broken down boxes to help cushion our items.

We all know how stressful moving is but this firm helped to make it as painless as possible. Highly recommended. Thanks Clapham!

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Croydon, Greater London

Dreadful service - even swearing in front of my young kids!

I cannot put into words to express how extremely disappointed with our experience with Clapham Removals on the weekend of 18th/19th August.

When 'John' initially came round for a quote, he assured us that the move would be unstressful and seamless.  My wife explained that we had 3 children who were nervous about the move and we really wanted a stress free move and for him to assure us that he had the correct team for the job.  He said that there would be a team of experienced packers, used to working together who would be efficient and experienced. None of that occurred over the said weekend. Instead, we were subjected to 3 packers who had not worked together previously: 2 of which I’d be surprised if they’d ever packed a box before and the third, although a nice man, by no means an experienced leader of a team of packers. The result was chaos: infighting between themselves and a real sense of being let down by their management (who was at home not answering his phone), offering no support to them whatsoever, in fact, antagonising the team. Had my wife not complained relentlessly on the Saturday, I doubt anything would have changed for the Sunday.

I have listed below both the shocking elements to the experience:
- A lot of the boxes were half empty. There was a box with 2 kids-size compact sleeping bags in.
- Not well packed - our flour had emptied inside one of the boxes all over the rest of the kitchen items which we then had to clean ourselves
- Open sachets of cream were just thrown into boxes unbagged; meaning that the cream spilt all over the other toiletries in the box
- Boxes not labelled well
- Some boxes incorrectly labelled - labelled with where the box had come from rather than it’s destination room
- Inefficient packing. I found the DVD remote control wrapped individually in 3 sheets of paper; likewise for a metal egg cup, a small plastic horse and many other small insignificant items
- Swearing and bad language in front of my children due to the frustration by the three packers - one of them actually burst into tears in the van having had a heated row with one of the others (in front of my 2 boys I hasten to add) about not working as hard as the others
- No tools during either day were bought by the men. How did they expect to take down lightshades; dismantle and remake beds etc without any tools? I have to lend them mine!
- Some items that we labelled to stay were packed and vice versa
- Took 1 person all day to pack 1 bedroom
- My wife and children had to completely pack 2 bedrooms entirely on their own and thus cancel the family day out planned for Chessington
- Marks on the cream settee from dirty hands
- Lots of damage due to carelessness and inexperience

We actually had to step in and calm the team down in the afternoon after it got really heated. We also ended up cancelling our family plans and help with the packing - my wife and the 2 boys packed 2 rooms! We’d lost confidence at this point and thus had to organise a babysitter, at additional expense, to look after the children for the Sunday so they weren’t around.

** DO NOT USE THESE - THERE MUST BE BETTER ONES AROUND **.

Removal to East Sussex.

We had a great experience using Clapham Removals. Every single employee was courteous and very friendly. They worked hard to pack everything up quickly and efficiently with no breakages. They were also very kind and patient with my young sons whilst making sure that they were safely away from any moving furniture etc.

There was a delay in getting the keys but this had no impact on the staff, they continued at lightening speed to get everything unloaded as quickly as possible into the night.

I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic service throughout!

Movers came to do a visual inspection prior to quoting. Communication throughout the whole process was great and clear. Boxes were delivered when requested. Guys were very quick and did a fantastic job despite a complicated pickup and delivery situation on either end.

Clapham to Guildford.

We were really pleased and impressed with the service we got from Clapham Removals. They turned up promply and had our house cleared by 11am. Unloading was even quicker at our new house. The four guys also worked well together as a team which I'm sure smootheed the process further. We would be happy to recommend this firm.
