They were fantastic. Super competitive quote by a friendly, competent and quick surveyor. Two removal guys Lee and Harry turned up on time and were super quick, efficient and helpful making what could have been a very stressful day with 3 kids under my feet absolutely seamless. Full three bedroomed house move completed in four hours from starting loading to full unloading. Everything was put where I needed it to be and even involved getting a settee out of a window!! Top class, could not recommend highly enough.

The removal of my furniture from Cardiff to Leeds couldn't have gone better.
I dreaded the relocation of my furniture just incase it didn't arrive on time or got damaged during transport but there was no need to have stressed out about it.
Despite the expected Friday afternoon motorway traffic, both drivers (Lee & Harry) arrived safely, on time and quickly unloaded both vehicles into my storage container. They were friendly and efficient and I would definitely use this company again.

These boys have done a fabulous job. They arrived earlier than expected so wasn't completely finished packing but they just got on with it!! It was a 3rd of the price of competitors and I was really worried that the move would be badly setup but the 2 boys I had were phenomenal, I really can't tell you how awesome they were. This is how it went:
Come in and locate what needs to be packed, packs the lorry, drives to Pembrokeshire and unloads the lorry. They even found out which room was which and tried to put labelled boxes in their place.

I really cannot gush enough about this company!! Good job, well done!!

Excellent move, cost was competitive and significantly lower than other estimates we had gotten for our move to Rome. The office was very accommodating and promptly replied to all of our questions and concerns. We packed ourselves, and the gentlemen that collected our belongings in Cardiff and the other lot who delivered in Rome were brilliant-- professional, kind, and nothing was too much trouble. We've done several international moves, City Moves comes at the top of all the companies we've used. Would definitely recommend and use again.

I needed to find a company who could move us at very short notice, after weeks of waiting for our house sale and purchase to complete we were informed that our purchasers wanted to move in within 48hrs.
I contacted City Moves as my daughter had used them some months previously when she had moved and had recommended them to myself as a reliable, professional and trustworthy company.
It was a very anxious time for us.
The lady I spoke to on the phone was wonderful she took full details of goods to be moved to ensure the right size van and guaranteed that we could be moved at short notice. We were aware that we needed to be out of our house by 12pm and had no idea what time we would recieve our keys so were really concerned about additional waiting time costs, she gave me a price and guaranteed that price regardless of waiting times.
The day of the move was Friday 12th October we were in the middle of the worst storm we had seen in years, the majority of the roads were flooded and I recieved a call from our movers to say they were on thier way but may be a little late due to the roads. ( They weren't, they arrived on time but wanted to inform us just in case )
We could not have had 2 better men to move us, Darren and Alvis. From the moment they arrived we felt at ease, they were polite, pleasant, and professional they started work immediately, they got soaked in and out of the house back and forward to the van and not once did we hear them complain. ( Absolutely amazing) we could not have done it without them, by 11.30am the house had been cleared and we were handing our keys in to the estate agent.
They confirmed the details of our new home and advised we would meet them there we had no idea what time we would be in. As it turned out they waited over 4 hours, due to circumstances beyond our control, at one particular point we thought that our stuff would need to go into storage, Darren informed me if that was the case they could sort that out with their company. So many things went wrong with the move, but the one thing that was right was choosing City Moves. The guys were amazing they were soaked and waited such a long time and never once pressured us, they were the guys that alleviated so much stress at a really stressful time. I can't thank them enough.
You were amazing guys and your welcome to come round for a cuppa any time.

We asked City Moves to organise our move from the UK to Germany this July. We used the form on their website to fill in our details and get a quote in April and were pleasantly surprised that the price for the move including a packing service was "only" GBP 2700 + VAT - I was expecting a lot more. On the day of, their friendly movers arrived on time and it took the two of them only 4 hours to do the whole pack. We had decided beforehand that our stuff would have to fit in a Luton van, everything that didn't fit would stay and go to the tip. So, they took the most important items first and managed to fit nearly an entire 3 bedroom household in that van (minus most of our furniture because we weren't going to take that with us anyway). Our stuff arrived at our new house in Germany the next day and everything was in one piece. Moving house is stressful at the best of times, even more so when children are involved and the move is abroad. I really appreciate City Moves taking some of that stress away because I didn't have to worry about our stuff at all. Can definitely recommend their services!

The Team of chaps were absolutely fab! The office on the other hand were awful!! We started of by getting a quote on line to move our WHOLE Bungalow and potential short time storage, we thought 'Brilliant someone will be in touch just to confirm all that we had put down on the quote form' and too see if there was anything else we needed. We thought wrong! We had this move planned for absolutely months ( due to first house falling through) we kept City Moves updated all the way with regular emails etc.

We had packed everything and was ready to move, so the week before we called to make sure all was ok, glad we did as they still had our old address to the house that fell through. We didn't think anything to this and just gave them the correct address. The Friday before we move we had a phone call; The phone call was not the sort of call you wanted the Friday before we move on the Tuesday.
Can we go through a in-depth inventory to make sure we have quoted correctly, so I went around every room and told them exactly what we have to move, about 30 min later City Moves call back with a 'New' Quote, to our horror it was nearly 3k more expensive, absolute panic and horror what do we do?? We explained that this was not the quote and that they had absolutely months to contact us etc. There was nothing that they were prepared to do about it, so we had to hire another 7.5 tonne lorry for 10 days as we had no storage until we moved into our new house.
Friday afternoon this was sorted to then be told they can't come on the Saturday as arranged but they would come midday Monday, No we said as we need to be out by Tuesday!
Well that was that, so we thought!!
We moved into the new house on the 31st and had arranged our stored stuff to be redelivered on the 1st. Oh I had another call on the 1st asking When do you want your stuff redelivered? I said it should be delivered today as planned. No sorry we cant, the earliest we can deliver is the 7th oh ok I said bearing in mind I have 3 children (10 yrs, 4yrs & 20 months) and our Grandad who is 87yrs old. I asked if we can just have our beds for this time, unfortunately not so it seemed! We all slept on the floor until the 7th, I then get another call on the 7th saying can we redeliver on the 8th oh and you need to pay another 300+vat as we can't get the lorry to your new house. Oh my word hang on I said we aren't paying anymore monies, Well in that case we wont deliver your Items.
So we had to pay.
I can honestly say I'm horrified with how this company operates. No sorry, refund as good will etc.
Will not be using again or recommending in any way!

Staff in general polite and courteous, but if you consider using city moves for packing and reassembly make sure you double check anything they have put back together.

Not one of my pieces of furniture was put back together correctly with almost every fixing missing dowels, screws or bolts. One bed had two dowels in it rather than eight before the move so over time it would have fallen apart. IKEA furniture had dowels snapped off and left broken - then over tightened on reassembly to try to pull it together.

The one team were literally throwing garden furniture into the last van and taking no care with my belongings, pictures were left in the rain etc. garden furniture was also just put together with no screws at all so when you moved it the whole just fell apart. I've now spent three days taking apart all the furniture they reassembled, buying new dowels and bolts where City moves lost them to try to get back to the same state as before the move. V poor. Also beds were assembled with slats upside down so any stress and they would fall off the bed, potentially causing an accident.

I would never use city moves again and will pass this on to anyone else thinking of moving.

I would be never use this company again.  I paid for and was promised 2 vans and 3 removal men, I got one small van and 2 removal men.  This was a very substantial move and this led to us having to assist the removal men throughout the entire removal day which led to us over-staying at the property we were vacating.  The removal men themselves were fantastic and did a great job even though they were understaffed. My issue was with the company themselves.  I had to repeadedly chase the company for a partial refund as they did not return phone calls.

I book a full packing removal service.
The packers arrived 5 hours late and the lady in the customer service keep going telling us that they were in a traffic jam. We later find out that they went to do another job in the morning.
When they arrived they did their job in a very professional, quick and tidy way.

The next day the lorry came on time and with 4 people, great! Again, very professional, polite, and quick. The total time of the removal last for 13 hours! at the end they called 3 more people to help them finish the job, I was really impress with this.

They finish everything except the storage unit in the garden.

A top quality service. Had an initial survey on the previous property to make it possible to allocate the correct vehicle for the job. When dealing with City Moves over the phone they were great, always helpful and polite. On the day of the move, they arrived on time, worked hard all day and completed a big move carefully in one load. All items were covered with a protective sheet and secured inside the lorry to stop any movement during transit. Would use them again tomorrow!!

I have to say that after booking with Citymoves I was a little apprehensive about the service we would get as on the day the boxes were delivered to me the guys said that I would need twice as many of each type and that he would sort this when he returned to the office.  I waited a few days and then contacted the firm to receive an email informing me that I would have to wait a least a week as they could not spare someone to deliver them.  I eventually received my boxes two days before the move. I have to say that the guys on the day worked very hard but I was disappointed from start to finish.  I have moved numerous times and have always used Pickfords for my moves.  This time I decided to use a local firm and I wish I had not.  I was reassured by the salesman that it would not be too difficult to take the various pieces of large furniture apart and rebuild.  The guy in charge of this part of the move did not want to be there and was not keen to dismantle the furniture.  We ended up with a wardrobe that had been standing perfectly sound in one house to be reassembled in such a way that was dangerous to use.  My daughter overheard the comment that he had lost key bolts for the wardrobe but he did not admit this to us.  We had numerous breakages which were admitted to and a couple that were not mentioned. No covers were used for the carpets and stairs and I was very grateful that our move day was a dry one.  Little care was taken with the boxes marked fragile and many boxes were placed in the wrong rooms.  I have to say that I would not recommend this firm to anyone.   We did not bother to complain as we felt that it would achieve nothing.

Excellent service, made the move easy and efficient. Polite staff, smartly dressed, couldn't do enough to help. Everything was explained clearely and goods arrived packed well and safe. Nothing was broken or scratched. Already referred them to three friends who are moving. Would use the service again.
The move started on time and was not late arriving. The movers were clean and smartly dressed. They all looked professional. They had a polite manner when they dealt with me. They listened andacid all my antiques with care. They were able to take apart all the necessary furniture and they reconstructed it for free at the other end without charging me extra as part of the deal.
I was very impressed with the vans which were very professional and impressive due to the graphics on the outside. I noted some celebrities had endorsed them such as the go compare man. The lorries were clean and the packing equipment was preteen. My goods arrived intact and clean.
Very happy with the service and the gentleman I dealt with as he constantly took any queries I had even if they were out of office hours. Very polite switch board who seemed to know what they were doing and dealt with my calls efficiently and effectively .
