City Moves

City moves were on time with a team of three, They emptied our old house very quickly and safely with no damage. On getting to the new house some of the wardrobes were really difficult to get up the stairs and our piano was very heavy and needed to get to the furthest part of the house! The boys did really well. Worked out how to get the wardrobes up the stairs and the piano to the back. All in all they were excellent and we had the odd joke along the way. Many thanks and well done!

My wife and I have recently sold our property, moved our contents into storage for 4 months before moving into our new home.
We initially approached City Moves and were impressed with the speed of their quote and the price. They also provided us with all the help we required initially and kept us informed of all matters regarding timetables etc. especially as completion of our initial home sale quicker than originally envisaged. We therefore had the company pack all our fragile items and no damage was experienced during both moves and storage.
The business and their staff are very professional and extremely friendly and are willing to go that extra yard when required.
We have no hesitation in recommending this business to anyone who wants a first class service for their home move.

A brilliant experience from start to finish in difficult circumstances as we were moving mum to a residual home.
The bookings team were very understanding in our every changing list of what was and wasn't going to be moved (right up to the day before).
The team on the day, we very polite and appreciated it was a big deal for her.
They were very quick at loading up and had the flat set up by the time we arrived, I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Everything worked really well. Following a call they turned up, looked at what needed moving and provided a written quote. Access was on a one track road so smaller vans were provided. On the day they turned up on time, loaded everything efficiently and unloaded into the correct rooms etc. at the new location. They put down mats where necessary and left no mess. Some days later once the boxes were unpacked there were no breakages at all. The company were in regular contact before the move and were easy to get hold of when I had any questions.

I probably should have planed this move a lot better than I did, but what happened was that I had a video survey booked at 11am of Saturday, six days before my proposed moving day. They finally called me at 11:40am saying the person who was going to do my video survey wasn't in yet and they had to reschedule to the following Monday (so, four days before my moving day). After they promised to give me a quote 20 minutes after survey, I agreed with the rescheduling. On Monday, I waited and waited, but there was no call. An hour after the scheduled time, I called the office inquiring what was happening. They wanted to reschedule again to a later time of the day, but because I was going out, I said no. They then arranged the survey right away (apparently an app is required which was mentioned nowhere in our previous communication). After spending 10 minute sorting out some technical issues regarding app connection on their end, the survey was finally done and I was again promised a quote within half hour. I went out, came back in two hours, and of course the promised quote was nowhere to be seen. I called the office, they said they will send it within an hour, waited for two, still didn't receive it, called again.. I honestly don't remember how many times I called that day, eventually I got the quote before the end of the day.
The move was a two day move, with the packing and picking up from London on Day 1 and delivery to York on Day 2. The movers were very pleasant and the move was done as smooth as I can hope for.
After the move, I need the receipt to claim money back from my company, and it was almost exactly the same thing again. I thought the movers would bring the receipt with them since it was already paid in full ahead of the move, but no, they told me the office will send it after the move. And of course the office didn't. So again I called, was told it would be sent right away which it didn't. I called again a few days afterwards etc. I did eventually get the receipt I need after maybe 3-4 calls (every time I was told it would be done either right away or within an hour).
Overall, they are always nice and polite, and the movers did the job very well, it's just that the office is certainly not the most efficient one in the world.. Does it matter? Looking back now I can be more forgiving since the move did go well, but I remember how panicking I was chasing them up for this and that less than a week before my move..

We used City Moves in June 2020 on the recommendation of my nephew, who used them November 19. We moved within Cardiff. I cannot fault them. We were originally in contact with them prior to lockdown. They stayed in touch over this difficult period. We eventually moved two months late. The four removal men were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. They were helpful and cheerful throughout.

I was dreading the move after 19 years in our previous home. City Moves made the whole experience as stress free as it could have been, at a price considerably lower than their competitors. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

From virtual tour for pricing move to excellent communication leading upto the date of removals was excellent. Day of removals they arrived on time, removal guys professional, polite and nothing was a problem. We did a final check of house to make sure all was loaded up. On delivery of furniture arrived on time and asked where furniture and boxes to go again nothing a problem as even put furniture in place in rooms when I got it wrong. The move was stress free and due to our jobs we will call on them again in a few years time. You get what you pay for and this company was worth every penny.

Price was competitive and the best part was that the initial appraisal was done remotely over my mobile. This was especially convenient during lockdown. The team were punctual, very efficient and professional. When there was a delay with getting the keys to my new property the team waited patiently and made sure all the items were in place and the furniture were properly assembled at my new house before leaving even though it was late on Friday. They went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely recommend them.

City Moves were absolutely brilliant during our recent and complex move post lockdown. The team were very flexible in accommodating date changes and in providing other extensive advice on the removal. The removal team on the day were so friendly polite and brilliant, nothing was too difficult for them and the move was very smooth and professional.

I strongly recommend this company. We were very nervous having not moved for many years but the company made the experience so easy for us and the move all happened professionally and with no stress. The whole team were brilliant!!.

Freindy service, efficient, most helpful in this uncertain time of coivid. Despite me cancelling the date several times due to hold ups in the chain they remained professional. On the day 3 men arrived to pack and load the van. No easy task, as we where moving to a apartment with no lift, they remained positive and despite the day being extremely hot and humid they remained chatty and upbeat. They definitely earned a well deserved tip, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Our move was delayed so many times due to lockdown but the team at city moves we're totally supportive and understanding. When it came to move day the three guys who moved is we're brilliant. Friendly, helpful and really efficient. They turned up bang on time and had our for bed house packed in the lorry before mid day. We moved into a new build so I was very fussy about carpets and walls and they took every care possible to keep it clean and tidy. They didn't leave a mark anywhere. I would highly highly recommend City Moves.

We've just had a successful house moving using City Moves. Our move was complicated by the lockdown introduction and City Moves were very helpful and flexible in accommodating numerous date changes. We opted for the full removals service with packing. The communication with them throughout the process was spot on. We we're very happy with the packing service and all our fragile items survived. On the day of the move the team were very professional and quick, and waited patiently whilst we awaited confirmation of completion. We had a last minute scare with our sofas not fitting through the house but the experienced team were able to take them out of the juliet balcony. Overall we were very impressed with service and it took all the stress out of moving.

City Moves were incredibly attentive throughout the move process. They called and emailed throughout the arrangement phase, which was very helpful as our move was delayed by the usual legal progress issues.

On the day of the move, 5 really helpful staff arrived earlier than expected with a large, and a small van and had the large 4-bed house emptied in less than 3 hours.

On arrival in Abergavenny they efficiently unloaded to our new home in a couple of hours.

Even a slight problem they handled well, hey'd put a small portable TV in the van cab and took it back to Swansea by accident. We had not realised, but Tracy called us to let us know and arranged for it to be couriered back.

The costs were in line with other quotes that we obtained, but their attention and friendliness won them the deal. All in all a very good service.

Recently, we moved house and without the help, hard word and excellent manner displayed by Steve and Tom, we would have struggled. Steve and Tom were very friendly, gave us good advice and if I am honest, it was like my best mates were helping me, but, professionalism was maintained by Steve and Tom at all times.
