Big Red Removals and Storage

Big Red turned up with plenty of materials and packaging for our removal. They were extremely careful with our computers and monitors and all other delicate machinery. They worked quickly and efficiently, making sure they knew exactly what we wanted moved and in what order. They left our old office and drove straight to the new venue where they unpacked carefully and ensured we had time to make sure things were put in the correct places.

There were no breakages and when we discovered we had a large filing cabinet that would not fit where we had intended they took it away immediately which was very helpful.

They were cheerful, efficient and made us feel very comfortable throughout the process. I would happily use their services again and heartily recommend them.

Big Red Removals claim to take the stress out of moving - and they truly live up to this mantra. From the initial booking process to the day of the move, the team were extremely helpful and responsive. Nothing was too much hassle on the day and I thought the three team members, led by Phil, were excellent - they moved everything quickly yet carefully and made what could have been a very stressful day actually quite enjoyable! The company also provides great value for money - I'd say it was up there with the best money I've ever spent! I would highly recommend Big Red Removals to my family and friends, and would certainly go back to this company in the future.

I don't usually write reviews but I feel that I should write and recommend Big Red Removals. From the time I made the initial enquiry online, to the last minute of the job they were efficient, friendly and extremely hard-working. James & Annabelle in the office are lovely to deal with and Craig and the other removal guys (sorry I can't remember your names) worked tirelessly (they wouldn't even stop for more than one cup of coffee during the whole move!).
We had 2 removals booked - our main move from Wandsworth to Surrey and then a 2 sofa pick up from Kent. Our main move went brilliantly. We thought we had an excessive amount of boxes and stuff piled up for people in a rental property (1st time buyers!), but they looked at it all with not even a raised eyebrow and pretty much had it packed in the van along with our bits of furniture and unloaded in our new house in about 3 hours - incredible work! We also discovered that our new home has a very small front door which made things pretty difficult. Not quite as difficult as things became on the day of our sofas arriving ..Craig had already had a very long day of removals, a long drive to Kent and back, and then somehow he had to figure out a way to get 2 sofas through a 64cm wide door frame without any pivot room! After a bit of huffing and puffing (from all of us!) the sofas were in, without a mark on them. How the guys manage to keep a smile on their face after such a long hard-working day I don't know - but it is much appreciated when you have the stress of a move. Big Red Removals keep the stress out of your move day and at a very reasonable price (the best quote I received and they stuck to it). Much appreciated and very highly recommended. If I go through the stress of moving again I will definitely be giving them a call.

Having seen a neighbour use the company I asked them for there opionion and they were full of praise for the company so no problem and gave them a call. James putt putted up to the front door and we were off.. Knowing what our neighbour had said and also aware of his costs we were dealt with in a great friendly manner. Having had grim moves in the past we kept fingers crossed but this move was a joy. Having moved to rental for a year these guy's will be back for the next move no problem.

Big Red Removals helped me move from Clapham to Surbiton. From start to finish it was superb: a prompt and competitive quote, some really helpful advice on parking considerations and quick follow up on any of my subsequent questions. The move itself was brilliant with the two lads packing, moving and unloading quickly with no breakages. The whole move went as smoothly as possible and made the move into our new home a whole lot less stressful. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

We had a very large chain and what became a rather complicated move, store and then move again. The team who packed our stuff were like locusts, but with the care attention of watch smiths and it only took them 3 hours to pack up the whole place. Even though the guys had to wait an hour in 35 degree heat before completion had been given they were extremely polite and efficient when they eventually were allowed to unload. James made the process easy considering we haven't moved in 11 years and was calm considering our move was not the norm by anyones standards. We would definitely recommend Big Red as have 2 friends who have used them for much larger house moves.

A poor and unsettling experience, made all the more disappointing by the fact I've used this company three times in the past and the service was previously exemplary.

I booked two removal men and a van service to move my goods around from house to storage. Service was carried out at a good speed although they did arrive an hour late from the time I requested. In general when one is contacting the sales office of this firm, replies are generally late and once I had to speak to a bookkeeper who didn't know what time my booking was confirmed for; turns out it was an hour later than I requested but with no prior notification to me. I was informed the guy who knew about the bookings "was travelling down to Wales for the weekend".

It was unfortunate that one of my removal men (the driver and leader) was surly and in a bad mood that day, and he consistently swore and complained about his workload versus his other colleagues. Responses from him to requests from me were abrupt and irritated e.g. "I know", "you don't have to tell me that", "Yes we learn that in lifting school". Things got particularly nasty when he took huge offence to me pointing out a box of expensive and fragile glassware that I didn't want placed under much heavier boxes of books. This angered him considerably and provoked a heated and unsavoury discussion where he told me that I should not telling him how to do his job, how I needed to lose the attitude, I should know how long he has been doing this, I clearly don’t know how the company works etc. I felt physically intimidated and threatened by his behaviour and had to walk away from his situation.

I find it shocking that any such person is allowed to perform in a customer service role with such a demeanour and contempt for his work and customers. I was unsettled by feeling physically threatened and overall it is a downright poor reflection that the company doesn't actually seem to care.

Working in customer service myself I've at least complained to the company first and given them time to respond. They haven't bothered to do so, simply highlighting their customer care is as pitifully lacking as their customer facing staff.

If you have to move goods and rightfully care about your belongings and expect a, at minimum courteous and timely service, do not use these guys.
