Alexanders Removals & Storage

I was very pleasantly surprised by Alexander's. I had a lot of boxes and furniture to move, but the team was unbelievably swift to load and unload the van. They took good care to protect my property (covered the floor) and belongings. The team were professional and pleasant. Very punctual. Prior to the move the sales team was very helpful in organising the logistics of the removal, providing not only answers to my inquiries, but also making useful suggestions. Would definitely recommend Alexander's. The service provided is well worth its price.

Alexander's moved me in September 16 from my home of 20 years into storage which they also dealt with. it was easy - a one stop shop. They could not have been better. Great staff from the chap who gave the quote on day one, the back office staff and the lovely cheerful hard working men on the day of the move. They understand the 'emotions' in a house move and were kind and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble. They did all the thinking and planning. A fair price was quoted for the two moves and the storage.
In December 16 they then moved me out of storage and into my new home. It was zone 1 on a red route - no easy task. Again excellent back office staff and great chaps on the day who went up and down 53 stairs laughing! Again nothing was too much trouble and they got all my belongings into the right rooms at record speed - even in the rain!
I had a couple of breakages - again no fuss excellent customer service.
Although I hope not to move for another 20 years I would without hesitation recommend this removal firm to anyone.

I used Alexanders to move the contents of my one bedroom flat from Central London up to Glasgow. I had many online quotes, but Alexanders were the only company to immediately call me back and arrange to send an assessor out to the property for an accurate costing. From beginning to end, the process was seamless. Every member of staff I dealt with was incredibly helpful and the moving team on the day was great. I couldn't be happier with the service provided and wouldn't hesitate to use the firm again and recommend them to friends and family.

I had a terrible experience with Alexanders and would never recommend this removals company to anyone. The move from our six-bedroom family home in North London, over two days last August, was chaotic and badly organised – the team of workers were arguing with each other, they smashed a marble-top coffee table, they chipped my antique chest of drawers, and they hadn’t finished packing up our house before the new house owners arrived so there was a delay in the whole chain. But most horrific of all was that all my jewellery and treasured
possessions were packed in a single bag and during the move this bag disappeared and has never been recovered. We had over 200 boxes to unpack over several weeks, but the white bag never appeared. My husband found a photo of it loaded into the Alexanders van, but the bag never turned up at the new house. Alexanders fixed the marble-top table and the chest of drawers and gave us £500 compensation for the delays. But although we reported the missing bag of valuables to the Police and the police report describes the bag as stolen/taken, Alexanders have not accepted liability for it - they say that it could have been stolen from our new house by someone else, and not by their employees. It is not so much the value of the items (over £20,000) but the emotional and sentimental attachment I had to the jewellery and treasures - many of which were family heirlooms which my mother gave me before she died the year before, and some pieces I had collected on my travels in Africa and the South Pacific. Everything is irreplaceable. Alexanders said that they tell all their customers to carry their valuables in their car, but nobody at Alexanders ever told me to do this. I have been left with a huge grief for the loss of my treasured items and Alexanders have done nothing to compensate me.

The office staff have been great at getting everything ready, managing the councils, handling the change in dates and volumes, etc. But I must say I was especially very impressed with the team they sent me on the day.

Everyone was very respectful towards my family and my possessions, they genuinely cared about everything being protected and delivered safely. I thought as well the team leader was very knowledgeable -access was difficult for the bigger pieces of furniture, both out and in-, creative, trusted by his men, and had excellent manners.

Furthermore, I was repeatedly asked if I was satisfied with all the little things that make a difference -destination room of various boxes and objects, help with getting rid of packaging, protection of carpets and wood floors, unscrewing/screwing of fixtures,etc-, which I thought was very professional and demonstrated a commitment to deliver an excellent service rather than be done with the job as quickly as possible.

I would recommend them to anyone who needs a mover without hesitation.

This is the second time that we have used Alexanders; two years ago they moved us into our temporary house and took 5 containers into storage. Last week they moved us into our new house and brought storage over on the third day.

The teams of removal guys were just amazing (both times) - so professional and hardworking, and friendly too. They arrived on time, got straight to work in a clearly well-thought out strategy; they packed up swiftly and efficiently, loaded up carefully, unloaded brilliantly and moved furniture around in the new house so helpfully. Put down protective blankets and plastic sheeting everywhere and did not dent, scratch or break a thing. Real team work between them. Unpacking boxes was a delight ( I reckon about 300 boxes) as everything had been packed appropriately and put into the correct rooms. They dismantled and put together beds and sofas, and stayed until everything was the way we wanted it to be.

We have moved house seven times in twenty years, so I am in a position to compare Alexanders against other well-known removal companies; they ARE more expensive, but if you want piece of mind and a first class experience that is actually enjoyable, then it is worth it - go with Alexanders.

Sharp, efficient and pleasant staff. Knew what they were doing. Good attention to safety and to care of goods. Right on time and logistics manager kept good communication throughout the move.

We packed the boxes ourselves - had 60 boxes/items to remove. Full packing materials were delivered 5 days earlier - tape, stickers, 3 types of boxes and hanging wardrobe, bubble wrap, padded wrap.. high quality and more than enough for the job.

Removal job started right on time - loading was done very carefully. Could see that team knew what they were doing and items were very securely strapped in place. Team leader was excellent.

Leftover packing materials were removed.

The team was very efficient and made trip in record time, delivering goods to flat in Paris that same evening.

Everything arrived in perfect condition, including the fragile items - mirrors, glasses and artwork.

I'd highly recommend this company if you're moving home. They arrived on time and immediately took control of the move. The team (led by Michal) were efficient and experienced. They were friendly, kept us informed and professional. They were mindful of our belongings and now that we've unpacked, nothing at all was broken. I was expecting at least something to be broken! Moving our sofa was the trickiest part of the move but they did this with confidence (and strength!).  While the removal guys were great, I also had a good experience with the office taking our booking. All in all, a great team. I've already recommended them to 2 other people looking to move this year and I'll recommend them again and again.

I have used Alexanders for a number of moves and storage for my boss over the last 18 months. The moves have all been logistically very difficult and Alexanders have always risen to the challenge. Every team we've used has been polite and incredibly hard working and very tolerate of the changes in schedule and locating items of furniture from storage and delivering at short notice.

I have recommended Alexanders numerous times and I will continue to do so.

I have nothing but praise for Alexanders. Swift and accurate appraisal of packing materials that were needed. A cheerful and flexible team on the day of our move out of London. The next day they arrived in Lincolnshire at exactly the time predicted. Quiet and efficient unpacking of a huge amount of stuff. One breakage graciously acknowledged and professionally dealt with. If you knew in advance that Alexanders were going to be this good, why would you consider any other removal company?

We used Alexanders very successfully in 2013 for a complicated move from family home to 4 addresses. I was happy to book them again for a cross-London move. They were incredibly helpful when there were repeated delays in the flat purchase and the move kept being postponed. Once it was "go", they came the next morning and packed courteously and efficiently. When packing took longer than anticipated, they brought in more men, and the move was finished in good time the same day. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and at all times Alexanders personnel were a pleasure to deal with. They came back to collect boxes once unpacked. Frankly, Alexanders was the least stressful part of buying and moving flat, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

A team from Alexanders arrived, a little ahead of 8.30 am this morning.. In Camden, Primrose Hill, parked up and did an excellent job. They boxed some items, wrapped furniture in protective paper. Moved almost 90 boxes of books and lots of other boxes of books and all furniture, kitchen things TV etc. Lots from 2nd floor of old house. All packed and safely loaded and with smiling faces we waved them off at 11.30am to moved items to short term Store.

Great to deal with from Start to Finish.
