Changing Places Removals

I booked Changing Places after meeting Colin in person when he came around to provide a quote, which was very competitively priced. We had a team of two men - Colin and Pedro - who were jolly and upbeat from the outset. This made a huge difference to our overall experience of moving and really helped ease any stress or anxiety. They guys worked hard and were careful how they loaded the van. There were a few scuffs on the walls, but the items were bulky and heavy, and based on previous experiences I think it's par for the course when moving home! When we arrived at our new home, the guys made sure everything went in the rooms they should, were happy to move things around until we felt they were in exactly the right place and even offered to help with anything else in the car. They went to great lengths to ensure we were happy before they headed home. All in all, a great job and we'd happily use the guys again. Additionally the move included heaps of boxes, bubble wrap, tape and wrapping paper and all disassembling/ reassembling - this made a big difference!

After being let down by another company 13 days before we were due to move, I spoke initially to Chris at Changing Places and he was wonderfully reassuring. He pencilled us in for moving on that date without any obligation prior to the survey and quote a few days later when Colin visited to estimate the workload. The quote itself was very competetive, Colin didn't take advantage of our situation by upping the price - it was in line with the other quotes we'd had. The packing was completed for us the day before, without any damages and the team were really hardworking on the day of the move. We were really happy with the service, nothing was too much trouble and we'd recommend them - a local small outfit that hasn't forgotten how stressful moving day is and do everything they can to make it easier.   .

Colin and his team made my move a lot less stressful than I expected. They did all the hard work, respected my belongings and were friendly and professional from quote through to moving me into my new home. They went the extra mile making sure everything was in place and fixed together before leaving. This was at the end of a very long day when they had been stuck on the M25 for hours and had a long drive home. I've moved many times in my life and never has every single item survived the move - until this time! I can't thank Changing Places Removals enough. I would highly recommend this company.

Colin Hosier and his team were professional friendly and courtious from the time I phoned to book my removal to the promp collection of boxes supplied after the move.When I got my exchange date Colin took time to book a date for the removal that suited me and he was able to oblige.  The guys arrived prompt on the removal day,they treated me and my possesions wih great care,nothing was too much trouble,my precious plants,my glass objects were all carefully treated,and all with a smile.Changing Places also delivered at my conveniance the boxes I required including the wardrobe boxes that proved invaluable withpacking clothes,and these boxes were picked up at my convenience after the move.** Star treatment from this company.

We recently moved from a large family house in Tring to a Dorset cottage.  Colin and his team at Changing Places (Hemel Hempstead) were professional and calm throughout the whole process from start to finish.  All 6 chaps were cheerful and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and they were so quick to pack the lorries (we needed two).  We would have no hesitation in recommending Changing Places to anyone considering moving house, whether its a mile down the road or, like us, 150 miles south west. Colin and his team recently moved us from St Albans to Hitchin and I thoroughly recommend them. As well as the removals service, we opted to add the packing service also as we have a young toddler, which was definitely the right decision! They were extremely efficient and reliable - and lovely guys too. They did a great job and they were even incredibly patient - myself and my husband were delayed getting to the new house (where Colin was waiting in the removals lorry for us!) and then when we finally arrived we were unable to get into the new house as the key wouldn't work! Colin and the guys were very patient and supportive during a very stressful time and we couldn't thank them more.

Colin at Changing Places was courteous, timely and well priced.   He really helped me out of a tight spot in helping to move 100sq ft of storage to a new site within a day.  Very professional and I would definitely deal with him again. Colin and the team at Changing Places Removals were absolutely brilliant!  From the time I met Colin for a quotation to the time I felt very comfortable with my choice of home removal company.
This was 100% justified when the team arrived on Thursday 7th May to pack up all my family's possesions in such an efficient manner!
Then on the friday 8th May they couldn't have been more helpful getting the trucks loaded and unloaded at the new house.
Basically the whole team were amazing and if you need a removal company I couldn't recommned them more highly!  You would be crazy to go with anyone else!

From start to finish the service received by Changing Places Removals was excellent - I could not fault the service in any way. All my questions were answered promptly and effectively and our belongings were picked up, removed and delivered with the utmost care and done so in a timely manner. Our move had potential for several different scenarios and Colin had a workable and reasonably priced solution for all of them! In the end it was a straightforward move that he and his team completed quickly and as promised. They waited outside our new property patiently, and without complaint, whilst funds were transferred and keys handed over. Timings were excellent and despite our new home being on the first floor there was no damage and our chattels were treated with due respect at all times. The moving team were happy and smiling to the end of the day. Good guys!

Colin and his team were friendly, professional and quick. We had no concerns or worries in regards to our belongings and any pieces of furniture or boxes I pointed out to take particular care of were immediately 'ear marked' and treated with extra care. The team worked methodically throughout the packing and unpacking of the van making it easy for us to find our belongings and unpack at the other end. Would definitely recommend Changing Places and if ever necessary would use them again. Thank you Colin!

Colin was very easy to deal with, transparent and polite. He came across as an honest guy trying provide a good service. All the team who worked in the job were also approachable and I had no issues with communication.

The team turned up on time, worked hard and completed the job on time. They had raised no issues with where we wanted items to be placed, including moving items straight to attic storage and moving a cast-iron draughting table up to the first floor studio.

We would use Changing Places again.

The location was St Albans to Hatfield in February 2016.

We didn't use the packing service so I can not comment on that.

Colin and his team made a stressful day as easy as possible for us.
Supplied boxes and wardrobe boxes to me in plenty of time for me to get organised and everything packed ready for moving day.
Any questions I had Colin always responded quickly and was very reassuring.
Colin and his team took apart furniture and put it back up once in the new house really quickly This was a godsend.

Thank you to Colin and his excellent team who undertook our move from Hemel Hempstead to Cumbria, managing to complete the loading, drive up and unloading all in one day!
We were very impressed with their efficiency and care, and everyone on the team was very friendly, managing to smile despite the heavy rain that awaited us at our destination which made unloading a bit more difficult!
The price was also very reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend them!

Colin, Chris and Pedro, made moving day fairly stress free.
They packed quickly and took apart my beds and wardrobe.
The move was from Hemel Hempstead to Clevedon, which is quite a long haul and they had to wait for us to arrive in Clevedon for over an hour. The beds and wardrobe were reassembled and all boxes put in the right places.
'Changing places' prices are very competitive, but that does not mean that in any way they don't provide a first class service.
I would highly recommend.

From when Chris came to give us a quote, right through to when they'd finished unloading in our new home, Colin and all of his team at changing places were professional, efficient and charming. We were messed about so much by our buyers and had to keep changing our date and they were totally understanding of the very short notice we eventually gave them and were so accommodating with materials etc for our packing. On the day, they made what could be a stressful experience, a really easy and cheerful one. They worked around us as we had the baby with us on moving day and they were totally respectful of our possessions and upon arrival in the new home they were careful to put boxes and furniture exactly where we wanted them. I would highly recommend them.

We moved from a fifth floor flat in East London to a large house in Hemel Hempstead at the beginning of September, with a period of time in between when our possessions were in storage.

Colin and his team were brilliant throughout the whole process, communicating clearly and quickly, responding almost instantaneously to my questions about vehicle registration and other details for a parking requirement (required by an incredibly inflexible London local authority) and were very friendly, helpful and reassuring throughout.

The quote was incredibly good value - far lower than most of the London movers quoted. Colin provided a whole load of boxes and other packing equipment, far more than we'd paid him for, and he came out of his way to deliver them on a Saturday.

Storage was very easy and Colin was so trustworthy and reassuring that we were never at all concerned for our stuff. When he delivered our possessions, Colin and his team navigated the slightly odd layout and very narrow staircases incredibly effectively. Everything arrived fully intact and completely undamaged.

Overall I'd highly recommend Changing Places - if we ever move again, or if we have any local friends, family, colleagues or acquaintances moving, we will recommend them in a heartbeat.

Colin and the team at Changing Places were prompt, helpful and obviously very good at what they did.
They helped us move from a 2 bed to a 3 bed in Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire). They provided us with boxes (as and when requested), guidance on how best to pack and were at hand for any queries.
On the day of the move they arrived at the advised time, were quick and efficient in the way they worked; but more importantly careful when moving large or fragile items.
At the new house, they were again very helpful and happy to wait while we collected keys etc. and when unloading happy to ask for direction if boxes had not been labelled.
I would definitely recommend their services - 10 out of 10.

A very professional exercise, supervised by Colin Hosier (proprietor) who showed himself to be a seasoned operator, intent upon meeting his client’s needs at what can prove to be a very stressful time!

 

Colin’s review of our requirements was meticulous, and he provided a detailed plan of action to ensure a smooth removal. He even visited us again just before removal day, to check on final details. On removal day itself he and his team arrived on time and raring to go – they were all cheerful & courteous and worked in an extremely efficient manner, with no disruption to either our goods or our neighbours’ lives! Having travelled the 200 miles to our new location they arrived the next day, on time and just as enthusiastic – all our goods were delivered back to us without any mishaps, and in good time.

 

I have no hesitation in recommending Changing Places to any potential clients.
