Moving house is allegedly one of the most stressful things you can ever do. I wasn't looking forward to getting my masses of stuff from my old house to a new one, but Alan and James made it easy and even almost fun. They're really friendly and their 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude puts you totally at ease. They went above and beyond the call of duty to get me set up in my new home and solved the puzzle of how to get my sofa through a narrow door with the minimum of stress. If you hate taking furniture apart and putting it back together again, ask for a quote including this - I'd probably still be sleeping on the floor if they hadn't sorted my bed out when I moved in. I'd highly recommend AMS removals - they're reliable, friendly and excellent at what they do. I'm so pleased they turned a day I'd been dreading into a smooth move - with the odd laugh thrown in.

Thanks to AMS I had a stress-free move from one end of Manchester city centre to the other. For the very reasonable price and excellent, professional service there's no way it would have been worth doing it myself. Communication was prompt and efficient so it was a snap to arrange, and Alan and James were friendly and took great care with my items, both while carrying them and arranging/securing them inside the van.  In just over two hours everything went from inside my old flat to exactly where I wanted it in the new one. Would definitely recommend and use again!

Found this service on the web, so texted the number. Fast response and a good communication for the duration of the pick up of my item and the drop off delivery. I was told they would pick it up for 11 and drop it to mine for 12. To my amazement my items ware on time. Delivery charge was £35 and I thought that was average as they ware moving two 2 seater sofas for me. Overall I am very happy with this service and considering to use it again with any other furniture removals.

We used AMS when we moved house last year. The service was fantastic, they were careful with all our possessions and moved everything very efficiently. Awkward staircases and narrow doors posed no problem to this experienced team. The team were polite and friendly; they made us feel comfortable with the process, we were confident that our possessions were in goods hands. After everything was delivered, each box in the correct room, not one item was even scratched. So when we needed to collect some furniture again recently we contacted AMS again straight away. Again the furniture was delivered quickly and safely at a time convenient to us, and again at a reasonable price. I will happily use AMS in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone moving house or collecting or delivering big items.

After trawling through the internet sites, this was the best offer I could find to move a sofa locally, cheaper than hiring a self drive vehicle. All my emails were answered immediately and a day and time agreed. The van arrived bang on time, it was immaculately clean inside, and the two man crew were friendly and helpful, they loaded the sofa into the van and secured it and wrapped it to protect it. They then delivered it immediately  to a first floor flat, carrying it up the stairs. I was extremely happy with the service provided and would highly recommend AMS to anyone .

Fantastic service and price. What started as a moving a 20 boxes and a few items of furniture soon spiralled into moving a lot more once we had packed and bought new things. Easy to get a re-quote for the extra items on the day and communication with Alan via email before the move was excellent. Only to 1.5 hours to get the items in to the new flat (350 yards away) with everything arriving in one piece and in the required rooms. Would definitely use AMS again and would recommend to anyone.

I contacted Alan to move house from from Manchester to Warrington. Initial contact was via e mail, and I received a speedy response. The booking was confirmed 5 days before the move. On the Day Alan and Tony arrived at the time agreed, and I basically left them to it. The job was completed quicker than I expected, and everything placed where requested in the new house. I received an excellent level of service from himself and Tony, and nothing appeared too much trouble. I would definately use this firm again, and can't rate them highly enough.

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Alan and James for all their hard work moving me from one flat to another. Although I was only moving around the corner, I decided to hire a man with a van after the ordeal of doing the move myself last time. I’m so glad I did they made the whole experience stress free and after only a few hours I had all my boxes placed in the right room in my new flat. If your looking for friendly, punctual and hard-working guys then look no further then AMS removals I will definitely be using them again in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone about to move home.  .

I cannot recommend Alan and the team highly enough. From the quote to the delivery of my items the service that I received was excellent.
The items that I was removing were a double bed, pictures, a thousand cds, dvds, vinyl records and lots of other personal items that equated to 10 removal boxes. The move was from Manchester to Seaford, a return distance of 520 miles. The quote of £450.00 that they provided was £100.00 less than others that I had received.
If you are looking for a company who provide a high quality service at a reasonable price then look no further.  .

Alan and James made my life much easier when moving from our 2 bed flat to a 3 bed house. They provided both a packing and delivery service and their efficiency at packing up our many things, getting them boxed and into the van was great. All packing materials were provided and they even picked up the empty boxes after we'd moved. As I was 15 wks pregnant they were really careful that I did not moving or carrying! Apart from the great service, they were a good laugh to have around on the day.Our move date changed several times and each time Alan was really flexible around us. Thanks to you both for all of your help and we will certainly be using you again! Vicky and Simon.

I've never used a firm before as I moved myself. This was a much better option.
It was a very reasonable price and an excellent, friendly, down to earth service. It was lovely to have no headache of hiring transport (I previously banged a van and had to pay £300 excess), packing, damaging stuff and yourself. Finally the removal team headed by Alan were very accomodating as our requirements changed slightly with things in different rooms etc.  If I need to move again or I'm asked for a recommendation I will give AMS a call.

I found AMS removals on google and was impressed by the amount of positive reviews. Excellent service from AMS removals/First Move removals. Prompt, polite, friendly and above and beyond what I expected. Paid for furniture only removal, they were very competitively priced and even moved a few extra items (that I ran out of time to move) at no extra cost. They re-assembled all furniture to a better standard than I had put it together in the first place! I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

AMS picked up our removal at short notice and did an excellent job. Having already finished a job in the morning they came and moved us from a 3rd floor flat to our new house within the space of an afternoon.  Paying by the hour I wondered if they might take their time, but that was very much not the case as they worked quickly and non-stop through the afternoon without a break. Despite working quickly our possessions were well looked after. The total cost was very reasonable in comparison to other quotes we'd receieved. Our baby was 10 days old at the time of the move, not ideal but the service AMS provided helped to remove a lot of the stress from the move. I wouldn't hesitate to use AMS should we ever move again. .

Great experience really. Turned up bang on time, professional attitude and a quality van. Much better than I would have expected given that AMS were literally half the price of the other quotes I received from other Manchester-based delivery companies.
Apparently this has to be 250 characters - didn't realise they expected War & Peace. Other things.. had a good chat, Alan, the propreitor, seemed like a sound guy, like the way the business is run as the cost was very reasonable.
I really would recommend AMS to anybody and hope the business continues to do well.

Discovered AMS after a thorough search for local removal firms in and around Manchester. They stood out from the rest in all aspects and offered a full removal service at a very reasonable price (less than half the amount some of the bigger-name firms were quoting!). Everything went very smoothly on the day of our move (I was amazed at how well Alan judged the space our belongings would take up on the van), with everything transferred in good time and in perfect condition - we couldn't have asked for more.
An all round great service that I wouldn't hesitate to use again.

We were originally considering moving ourselves but after 3 years had grossly underestimated the amount of stuff we had amassed and after reading the reviews and advice on their website about DIY moving decided that this was a job for someone who knew what they were doing.
Could not be happier with the service provided. From start to finish AMS were nothing but brilliant, and more than accommodating even working round the builders I had in plastering a bedroom in our new house. What would have taken 4 of us 2 days took 2 of them just 2 trips leaving me feeling a bit like a spare part but able to relax a little.  Would not hesitate to recommend.

We found AMS via a location search on the Internet. I dropped Alan an email and let him know our situation, which was a short notice move from one side of Manchester to the other. Alan asked a series of questions and very accurately estimated the load size and move times. So we were set! On the day Alan and his team showed up, they were all very polite and professional. They then started to load the truck, as bystanders we watched as they carefully picked our furniture etc covered it with "blankets" and secured it. Shortly after, the house was empty and we were driving to our new home. This time in reverse Alan and his team, unpacked our stuff and placed it carefully in it's new spot. Again in no time at all, the truck was unpacked and we were moved in. It took far less time than we'd expected, and less than Alan had estimated, so he offered us a discount! We were stunned, not a single bit of damaged furniture, not a scratch on any item, polite guys, not a mark on the carpet (they wiped their feet every time they entered both properties) absolutely amazing! And no we didn't take the discount. These guys were great, so if you need a move doing and you want it done carefully and professionally, give these guys a call.
