Alpen Transport

The only positive thing in advance: The young Tunisian co-responsible person - and the two temporary workers - were more skilled than the rest (therefore 2 stars).

Now to the actual move (2nd floor on the slope to 3rd floor, both without a lift): Other companies recommended 4 men for the offers, with a flat rate of max. Fr. 1800 - Fr. 2100. Since the move was planned for me at short notice, I took the company like my partner (who moved a week earlier) and during the visit by Mr. Mehmet Ergön signed the contract directly (which was a mistake in retrospect).

Despite unequal conditions, I was also charged CHF 218 per hour. Calculated like my partner, who was given a large moving van, enough boxes and a large roll of bubble wrap with only a quarter of the items.
For me - despite 4 x as many things: small moving van (so that it had to be driven back and forth twice), missing cardboard boxes on the day of the move, about 50 cm wide stretch film roll as packaging material, 2 mattress covers and about 2 blankets. These travel times due to the small vehicle and their breaks were of course calculated.

Although I pointed out several times during the tour that everything would come out of the cupboards, Mr. Ergön quite underestimated (which his young Tunisian employee noticed as soon as he walked in). Half of the team did not understand the German language, so that they could not distinguish the living room from the bedroom and basement things finally ended up in the apartment - although I gave very clear instructions before the move and directly at the entrance as to where and what should go. I (woman, about 150 cm tall) finally started to pack and carry the boxes with me. The estimated moving time was clearly exceeded (from 6-7 hours to 10.5 hours), so that - without consulting me - two temporary workers were called in; of course they were charged additionally. Positive: the temporary workers were more efficient and the move went better in the end.

At the end of the day after 10.5 hours the move was still not finished so that Mr. Ergön came for an hour the next day and charged a further CHF 100 to collect the remaining few boxes. Of course I tackled it again, because the support he called for help finally came with his about 12 year old child, who carried up the boxes. I asked him not to let the child carry the boxes (but this was gladly ignored). That didn't work!

Finally, Mr. Before paying, make sure I have a week to report the damage. As soon as he called him about it - within the week in question - he refused, without listening or asking what exactly the damage was, and kept hanging up the phone.

This behavior says a lot about how the company works and how the service is with you! I can only advise everyone against moving with alpine transport and especially someone who is unprofessional like Mr. Grant to give the order.

It is better to find a company in which not only does the name sound Swiss, but the Swiss / European service is maintained.

In general, I was very satisfied with the work on the moving day.
I moved within the Zurich Oberland, travel time between the locations 20 minutes.
Apart from a few small scratches, nothing was damaged.
A man was the lead on site and checked everything and gave instructions to the other reins.
I have already reined in many items such as wardrobes including clothes myself; Winch, cellar (bikes etc) as well.
I had packed most things in moving boxes, just
sofa, table, bed, 2 sideboards, shelves, wardrobe doors, large plants had to be packed or to be dismantled (bed).
The clearing went quickly. Since I am in the new place
I wanted to have the bed unpacked and reassembled, it naturally took a little longer. I actively helped to unpack everything. It was also good that I was able to give the packaging material back with me.
The only negative remark: I also paid the 1 hour journey (0730 a.m. on site) and we were finished at 1 p.m., but I had to pay until 2 p.m. In the end it was 7.5 hours, I expected a maximum of 5!
total costs including VAT: CHF 2471.-.
Since I was always there and said what I wanted to be packed and how, no more packaging material was used than really needed!
It was good with the goods lift, so the moving people had
less to haul (from 3rd floor to 2nd floor, no elevator).

The agreed time was not kept, therefore 2 days of working time. Badly organized. No member of the removal team spoke German that was easy to understand. The person responsible for works of art left damage to pictures and sculptures. The bedstead with renovation (age 6 months) was completely dismantled and could not be rebuilt - total loss!
Huge wear and tear on the packaging film and additional unnecessary packaging material. The final cleaning of the move-out apartment was not satisfactory. Exorbitant final price had to be clarified and reduced before the peace judge. The choice of Alpentransport.ch was a huge flop. Never again!

We have engaged the company for the second time and are very satisfied. It was the best value for money compared to other providers. The employees are flexible, competent and reliable. Definitely to be recommended! We received all packing material in advance, which was very well sorted. On the day of the move, the employees arrived before the agreed time and professionally packed and transported the furniture. There was no damage whatsoever, the employees were very careful with the furniture and boxes.

Attention !! WORST OF MOVING !!

We can only advise against transporting through the Alps, unless you are into nasty surprises.

Despite viewing and several other offers, they were not the cheapest - and advertise with certificates etc. as well as being in associations.
Therefore we decided - unfortunately wrongly - for AlpenTransport.

In the end, one day turned into two.
The foreman terrorized the (avoidable) subcontractors so that they became very inefficient - at the beginning everything was ok, until this then caused the chaos.
Then it was promised that it would be settled because of a maximum of 20% additional costs, and we shouldn't worry.
The loading was only ready after 13 hours - "half-time"

In any case, we had to look for a hotel for the night ourselves, and no one from the Alpine Transport Administration could be reached.

On the 2nd day at 730 am - nobody was there - they came about 20 minutes late without a call / information etc.
Then someone came - but not to move in:

Unloading on the 2nd day was forcibly refused before a new contract was signed.
I had to stand in front of the truck so that my pregnant friend could get her chair / bed / belongings back.
Also, VORAUSKASSE was then due contrary to the contract. We should have called the police here at the latest.

This was then necessary in the evening when, under threat of violence, money was again demanded from the Alpine transport foreman.
He rang the bell and the poor pregnant woman got out of bed - sheer terror - the police then expelled him from the seat.

After that, the Swiss employee who presented as managing director was suddenly only the seller.
Several proposals to regulate this unbureaucratically were passed with an extension of the deadline.

The lawsuit against Alpentransport has been filed.

We were very satisfied with Alpentransport (I wonder if we had the same company as the two commentators below ..). Even if the employees were not Swiss (German ...), which is not an issue for us at all, we (CH and FR) could communicate with them in German without any problems. They were punctual, hardworking, careful and very friendly. We also had longer than planned, but with our steep stairs (attic apartment, winch staircase) they couldn't go up and down any faster with the best of will. No item was broken. The furniture was well packed and unpacked, delicate items like mirrors and lamps were thickly wrapped. Conclusion: friendly, open customers and a friendly, fast company: we can only recommend this company!
PS: We moved from Zollikon to Meilen, but you couldn't choose these cities. The employees worked almost 11 hours).

Alp (en) - Transport turned out to be an alpine dream

The most expensive, longest in terms of time and largest and most unsatisfactory additive in terms of damage in my life! I rate the quality of the work carried out as unsatisfactory. The staff has no specialist knowledge of a trucking company, rather unprofessional and unrelated to the industry. The communication with the train men in German is to be classified as extremely limited. The tendency to use a lot of packaging material and of course then to charge extra was very remarkable. And with the result that various damage to “packaged” furniture nevertheless appeared.
The dining table in particular was affected and there were bruises and wood chips on the cupboard and sideboards. My desk roll body, provided with 4 wheels, fully filled with office utensils, was up side down, i.e. transported upside down ..
The plant was "parked" in the cold for about 30 minutes, with the result = plant died.
Complaints on my part were blocked and ignored, i.e. it wasn't even discussed !!
An ethical company is characterized by how it tries to settle complaints in a satisfactory manner. Every complaint, no matter how unpleasant, should be an opportunity for the company to position itself.

I cannot recommend this haulage company. She is very Swiss on the phone, refers to CH association structures, operates with correspondingly higher prices than the competition and does not offer the expected services. I am happy to provide further information on request,

We can only recommend Alpentransport. You can tell that the guys are not doing it for the first time. Everything is professional from start to finish. The moving boxes are provided free of charge and are picked up at the end, when everything has been unpacked.

The furniture is packed so that there is no damage. We lost a small part at the grill. Memet brought it back to us from the warehouse the next day. Great service when something like this happens.

Should we move again, gladly again with the team from Alpentransport.

We moved from a 3.5 room apartment to a 5.5 room apartment at the end of July 2018.
Both were attic apartments where no furniture lift could be used.
There was a lift in the pick-up apartment, in the new apartment it was necessary to carry to the 4th and 5th floor. A total of a truck 50 cubic meters plus a delivery van.

We had made a flat-rate contract based on a list I had drawn up and made it without a viewing.
When Alpentransport arrived with 4 men, they saw that it was more volume than expected and that they could not put on the furniture lift they had brought with them.
It was annoying that this had not been clarified in advance but it was correct that we made a recalculation, especially since it was clear that everything had to be carried by hand to the 4th and 5th floor.

In order to manage the volume, the relocation manager ordered 3 additional helpers to the new apartment on an ad hoc basis. There 7 people with enormous commitment, very friendly and a lot of sweat (it was 30 degrees) carried up the 4 floors.

Our furniture was handled carefully and there was no damage except for a cheap plastic fan that broke. Everything was carried by hand and not with straps. We were satisfied and ready after 11 hours from arrival to departure.

I would work with Alpentransport again, but next time I would have an inspection done in advance so that there are no surprises afterwards.
