Smartmove Removals

We moved within Bristol from a terraced house to a semi and used both the packing and removal service. The team were friendly and unflappable throughout. They were not put off by challenges (eg getting our king size bed up the stairs in the new house) and worked speedily and efficiently - even reassembling our bunk beds in record time! Communication on moving day was excellent and overall the good humour shown by the team - especially the team leader, Harry, made what could have been horribly stressful day pass without pain!

It's always difficult deciding what removals company to use especially if you're not a local. I decided on Smartmove removals and I do not regret it at all. Their services are priced at a reasonable rate. Most importantly, they were very efficient from the get-go: arrangement of video survey for quotation (with Matt) was quick, to getting details about the move (with Izabela), payment, letting you know when they were arriving and even packing things up very quickly (with Charlie and Liam). Moving is always a very stressful and anxious process but their positive attitudes and efficiency certainly made you feel better and assured you that it will all go well. I cannot recommend them enough!

Absolutely brilliant. Fast and efficient booking service via a virtual video quote + email booking. The packing team (Andy, Chris, and Liam aka 'Bacon') were amazing, worked non-stop the day before we moved and were very patient and considerate (we have 2 small kids and a LOT of stuff). Next day, the moving team (Nathan, Harry, Oli, Zak) were incredible, moved heaven and earth to get us into our new family home on schedule, including rebuilding beds etc. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Will use again, if we ever move!

Such a FANTASTIC service from start to finish - I couldn't recommend Smartmove more highly. Nothing was too much trouble - even the rain and very poor access on my congested Bristol city street! One team came and part-packed the evening before, which totally took the stress off the next day. Both the team I had the night before and on the actual move day were so friendly - it sounds mad but they made what I know can be such a stressful experience fun!! Thank you all SO much! A really competitive price - with the added bonus of no hidden/extra costs!

Matt visited to survey my flat and came back with a quote the same evening. The price was fair and inclusive, so no unexpected charges later. Payment and contract details were all handled quickly online.

On the day of the move, the boys were amazing. Polite, professional and efficient. Most of all, they were careful with my belongings and nothing was damaged. I still can't believe how they managed to manoeuvre some of the furniture into my new place, given the narrow spaces involved!

Don't look anywhere else. Go with SmartMove!

Smartmove were absolutely amazing for our first big move! Definitely the best money we spent in the whole process and we cannot recommend them enough.

It was super easy getting an initial quote online and then booking a video quote through their website. It was really quick to show them our stuff and they were spot on with their estimates for boxes. The price didn't change much between the online quote and talking the move through with Matthew which meant there were no surprises. We were super happy they were able to accommodate our move date with just over a week's notice as well since we were waiting on completion dates for a while.

Throughout the process we had good communication through email and were given lots of info to help us prepare. We had to go and pick up boxes due to the short notice nature of our move and having enough time to pack but that wasn't a problem and the place was easy to find.

On the day of our move, David and Harry arrived on time at 9am and were really friendly and cheerful, setting us at ease. Really appreciated they introduced themselves straight away too. We honestly could not believe how quickly they loaded everything up. They were so professional and helpful and the entire move was done by 2pm! Moving day was not stressful at all thanks to them and we had time to clean whilst they loaded/unloaded.

Overall a fantastic service that we would definitely recommend! If you're looking for a friendly, reliable and professional service to help make your move as relaxed as possible then look no further and get your cash out because you're going to want to tip ?

Smartmove Removals in Bristol moved me on one of their local day rate moves and the service, price and professionalism of the team was great. Matt and his team were very helpful, polite and careful with my stuff and the day went very smoothly, if anything it was quite enjoyable. I recently moved with another local firm and the experience I had there was terrible, they were rude, miserable and some of my stuff got damaged, so I looked around for removals firms in the area with a good reputation and a friend of mine recommended Smartmove and I’m glad she did. Stay well clear of this removals company!

We had an awful experience due to several mishaps on the day

In summary;

-Poor planning/ job assessment by the original valuer who assessed the job
-3 vans (as originally quoted) were meant to turn up yet only 2 arrived on the day of the move. We had checked prior to the move if all was well and we were assured that everything was ok
-they arrived 1.5 hrs late on the date of the move
-severely understaffed (which they blamed on Glastonbury festival! and being let down by agency workers) and poorly motivated staff
-van in poor condition as broke down en route to our new property
-owner had a patronising attitude when we wanted the box with the baby formula in order to feed our young children when it got really late at night..which were placed at the back of the van instead of the front..
-the packer was incompetent as did not follow orders and was a bit shoddy

Overall a bad experience and to add salt to the wound one of the owners came to collect some of their equipment the day after and brought with her a box of veg as a means of saying sorry. A hefty discount or even a bottle of Bollinger would have been more appropriate! You get the impression that this company is spreading itself too thinly and as a consequences is affecting their planning and level of service instead of getting the basics right
