      Smartmove from Devon to Cumbria

      We recently moved from Devon to Cumbria and chose Smartmove to do our removals. Right from the start they were supportive and helpful in our move, and hands down way ahead of their competition in terms of pricing. On the day of the move out the team came and introduced themselves and had a walk around to discuss what needed to be done, which was very reassuring. They then worked throughout the day to pack everything into the lorry, I would certainly never want to challenge any of them to a game of Tetris as they .are masters at loading things safely and securely into their lorry.

      Then on the on the day of the move in they again did a walk round with us discussing everything, then set to work. They worked tirelessly and unloaded everything into it's correct room, if they were unsure they checked with us (rather than just presume).

      I am so glad that we chose Smartmove that I have no hesitation recommending them, and I have already done so to a friend.

      The best moving experience I've had.

      Matt visited to survey my flat and came back with a quote the same evening. The price was fair and inclusive, so no unexpected charges later. Payment and contract details were all handled quickly online.

      On the day of the move, the boys were amazing. Polite, professional and efficient. Most of all, they were careful with my belongings and nothing was damaged. I still can't believe how they managed to manoeuvre some of the furniture into my new place, given the narrow spaces involved!

      Excellent company

      Had the Smartmove team in to pack and move house in the run up to Christmas. Could not have been happier with every aspect of the service. Hard working crew, top blokes who did not stop working for 2 full days other than to grab a quick bite to eat. I could not recommend Smartmove enough.

      Great service from Smartmove. They were on time, and two very pleasant and friendly lads worked extremely hard, they were very experienced and had good knowledge. They also gave answers to questions that were outside of their remit - all in all, we were very satisfied.

      Charming and efficient

      Very happy with the service. We had a complicated move, with half our furniture going into storage for a couple of weeks, while we did some work on the new house. Everything was managed well and communication was excellent at all points. The removal staff were happy and motivated, making them a pleasure to have around. Not the cheapest company, but the service was worth the extra cost. Highly recommend.

      Really really good

      Smartmoved were absolutely brilliant. They moved me from house and stuff into storage. They arrived on time, communicated really well and were an incredibly cheerful charming bunch of lads. They moved this on a super super hot day and didn't finish till about 6:30. Plus they were extremely competitive. I would definitely recommend.

      Absolutely brilliant. Fast and efficient booking service via a virtual video quote + email booking. The packing team (Andy, Chris, and Liam aka 'Bacon') were amazing, worked non-stop the day before we moved and were very patient and considerate (we have 2 small kids and a LOT of stuff). Next day, the moving team (Nathan, Harry, Oli, Zak) were incredible, moved heaven and earth to get us into our new family home on schedule, including rebuilding beds etc. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Will use again, if we ever move!

      Bristol to London move

      It's always difficult deciding what removals company to use especially if you're not a local. I decided on Smartmove removals and I do not regret it at all. Their services are priced at a reasonable rate. Most importantly, they were very efficient from the get-go: arrangement of video survey for quotation (with Matt) was quick, to getting details about the move (with Izabela), payment, letting you know when they were arriving and even packing things up very quickly (with Charlie and Liam). Moving is always a very stressful and anxious process but their positive attitudes and efficiency certainly made you feel better and assured you that it will all go well. I cannot recommend them enough!

      Moving House

      Smart Removals did a great job when we moved house from Buckinghamshire to Bristol. They were so patient and understanding when our dates kept changing; which they did from November to eventually moving in February.

      We had so much stuff; including a piano and about 1200 vinyl albums and about 1200 cds plus the shelving for it all. We also had really difficult access down a very narrow, winding lane and then steep steps to our new house but all the staff of Smart Removals were calm and helpful and knew exactly what to do. We can’t thank them enough.

      Generally satisfactory

      For the most part I was happy with the service provided, but the movers could have been a bit more careful, especially one of them who seemed a bit inexperienced. It looks like they scuffed the wall in a couple of places. Not the end of the world but a touch more care would have been appreciated.

      Avoid.

      They quoted for 3 vans. They sent 2. At 1pm the men pointed at the remainder of our stuff in our front garden and asked us to take it in our own cars. Matthew, the owner, later said they would have sent another van if we'd asked. The new owners were arriving that minute. This would have been awkward and caused delays.

      They left all their unused boxes and a huge roll of bubble wrap in the front garden.

      They didn't wrap furniture - it got scratched or broken.

      They didn't secure items in the van - a bunk bed fell and broke. They don't wrap sofas or mattresses - they got grubby and stained.

      They didn't wrap items in boxes - picture frames and lamps got chipped, marked and scratched.

      They went to the wrong house. They'd guessed the house name on my invoice. I'd corrected Matthew and Justine, but they didn't tell the removals team. The men wasted over an hour at the wrong address.

      They were initially "very embarrassed" and agreed to refund the packing cost of £350. I argued they should refund more for only sending 2 of the 3 vans I needed and for damaging large items, not only the items in boxes. They refused.

      They didn't refund the VAT on the packing cost. I asked why they…

      Be warned!

      Where to start with the frustrations and disappointments having used this company.. I guess the most useful thing I could warn anybody of is, they break stuff. Unfortunately you tend to only fully discover the extent of this as you unpack. Having paid already they aren't interested and won't respond to communications, forget an insurance claim. The guys that do the actual work are all very polite and helpful. The folk that hide in the office are neither. The good price that draws you in is a false economy; be warned!

Worth the 5*.

Matt and his team arrived on time, they cheerily and professionally packed up our house. The move went without a hitch and we are so thankful to everyone for making what could if been a very stressful day a breeze. Would definitely use again.

From the initial quote with Matt to when the last box was unloaded into our new house .

Great service

Simon and Liam worked like demons. Very friendly and arrive on time. My parents now considering using for there move. Only issue we had is invoice said wardrobe boxes were supplied and they were not. Worth packing your clothes just on the off chance. Will definitely use again.

Office Relocation

The Smartmove team were very efficient with the move from one office to two new locations, complete with packing up numerous computers and other office equipment. The move was completed without any delay and I would recommend them to use them for any move. As we are a charity they completed the move free of charge

4 bed house move

Smartmove did a great job for us moving us from one 4 bed house to another. Communication was great ,the operatives on the day were friendly and communicative and made the move go really well. We had a 3 hour time span between the two houses and nothing was too much trouble . I would highly recommend them and definately use them again

Wonderful customer service, Justine was very friendly and helpful and made me feel very relaxed about the whole experience.

Faultless

Moving house twice!

Having to move to storage then to a new house is hardly ideal, however smartmove made it easy! They were flexible and communicated very well! The moving team were efficient but incredibly friendly and made the stressful process as good as it can be!

Excellent Service
