Removals Centre

Removals Centre recently completed a move for me from Oxford to London. I thought it was quite a big job (five bedroom house, full packing service) and was surprised when they said they would do the whole thing in one day. The four guys arrived on time at 7am and worked incredibly hard and everything was finished by about 5.30pm. The price was also very reasonable compared to previous companies I had used, which had initially made me nervous, however they did a great job. The guys were polite and efficient. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a few quotes from several removal firms, but the price quoted for Removals Centre and dealing with Tom on the phone is what set our decision.

Tom instantly made me feel welcome, understood and made sure everything went smoothly whenever we spoke.

We only moved from a 2-bed bungalow to a 1-bed flat, but the entire process took the 2 guys 3 hours to complete. They turned up at 9am, loaded, moved and unloaded the lot at the new place by 12pm. And this is included a coffee break. It was a sight to behold! They were very friendly and professional the entire time.

Nothing was broken. All boxes were placed where we asked.

We'd set aside the entire day to let it happen, but, being done so fast, we were able to spend the rest of the afternoon unpacking at our leisure.

As another reviewer has pointed out, these guys are middle men, they don't visit to assess the amount of items you need moving. We used their packing service for an extra £400+ charge which we thought would save us some effort. The removals guys were surly and seemed very annoyed that they had to pack items as well as move them into the van. As the day went on the packing got more and more lazy. It was only when we unpacked that we realised how much had been broken. Vases were packed in boxes with glass picture frames with no attempt to add bubble wrap or padding. Opened many boxes to broken glass and ceramics. Files from the filing cabinet seemed to have been emptied out of their folders (this seemed verging on the malicious). We also paid extra (on top of the £400 packing fee) to pack my CD and Record collection. I thought this meant they'd use special boxes and take some care, but no the records were packed in heaps in boxes the wrong size crammed in with other items. As the boxes were kept in storage for a few months the vast majority of records were bent or frayed. The CDs weren't even packed. They were left on the shelves and packing tape used to stick them into the shelves so they could be moved as one unit. Of course when I came to take the packing tape off it had stuck to the CD boxes leaving tape and glue residue all over the boxes. In the time it took me to clean 2000 CDs after this company had moved them for me, I could have packed the lot sensibly myself. The move itself went OK if you don't mind dealing with burly reckless angry men. My advice would be to avoid this company even if they seem cheaper. If you value your items you'll pay in the long run.

I used removal centre to relocate me from London to newcastle. This was stressful as I have loads to move. One thing that didn't stress me was removal centre. The asked me all the right questions. Professional and friendly. Arrived when they said they would. And delivered on time. Even helped me lug all my stuff up 3 flights of stairs. From a cost point I was advised lots higher by 2 other companies. But they offered me a good deal

My dealings with Tom over the phone setting up the move were just too easy. He was very accommodating and understanding regarding a somewhat complicated move in a few parts, with storage required in between and moving dates! Tom did his absolute best to help make the move smooth. Friendly, helpful and very competitive price. And trust me, I spoke to about 7 different removal companies to get a comparison.

On the day of the first move, it went great! The guys were punctual, quick and strong. Within and hour they had packaged up our apartment and off it went to storage.

The last part of our move is still to come, including redelivery of the stored good and moving the second house. But I've every confidence it will run smoothly and it will be one less thing we don't need to stress about at an otherwise stressful time.

We highly recommend this company. The two guys who came to help us with our move were wonderful. They were really careful with all our items, (furniture and boxes), and also our flat making sure they didn't scuff our walls or scratch our floor. Everyone is really friendly, starting with Tom on the phone helping plan our move and the guys who moved us on the day. Moving house is so stressful, working with a company like Removals Centre is a way to ensure your move is easy and stress free !
