Removals Centre

Absolute cowboys, treat your furniture like trash. They dropped a dining table, damaged it and said I could claim through their insurance. I asked them to start the claim. They do not respond, I don't even think that they have insurance. They subcontract. I have now needed to go through the small claims court. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to get this sorted and they haven't. Will never use again, and will make sure all other potential customers are warned through reviews.

Hurrendous experience.
Took the company 14 hours to move my partner and I from a 3 bed terrace to a 3 bed detached - To give an idea of content, we do not have clutter, have no children, and have 2 bedrooms worth of furniture, one of which is an office, a lounge, dining room and kitchen.
The walls following removal looked like our furniture had been pasted down them, and some expensive items of furniture are now damaged. The removal men went for lunch for an hour and a half, leaving us waiting at the next house thinking they’d driven off with all our belongings. I had to threaten to call the police to get a response from Jason.

The van wasn’t big enough, 2 men wasn’t enough for some of the heavy furniture, and a 14 hour removal just isn’t acceptable. Having complained, Jason blames us for our “heavy furniture and army gear (2 rucksacks)”. Moving heavy furniture is surely their job as removal men.

We were in-between moves so we were renting in Henley until
our new house was ready. Due to this we put most of our items in storage. As this was only temporary (4 months) we needed access to the items in the unit easily.

The moving team were efficient at emptying the house,
however they did leave a roll of carpet in the loft and a reasonably heavy safe which was troublesome to get down (My wife is pregnant so it had to be a one-man job!). When we met them at the storage place, they commented that they
did not think our space would be big enough. It was 75sqft, which we'd been assured by the storage company would be enough for a 3 bedroom house. We had a 2 bed, so this seemed like plenty of space. The removal team encouraged us to
leave them to it and they said they would call us if they couldn't fit everything. We told them to prioritise the furniture (1 king mattress, a broken down king bed, a long roll of carpet and some dining room chairs) and left them to it.

A couple of hours later I got a call to say that there were
a couple of boxes left over that they couldn't fit. I drove down
and there were 3 dining room chairs and about 7 boxes left. I explained that I wouldn't be able to fit them in my car and asked if they could drive the items in their van to my house (500 yards away) and jokingly said I'd buy them a beer. They agreed and followed me up the road. When we got there I said they
could leave the items outside my house and I would load it. They then asked for the beer I promised them. After explaining I didn't have any, they asked for the cash instead, I asked if they were serious (especially as we'd paid for their time until late that evening) and they said yes, citing the fact that it was their time we were spending. I gave them £10 and they left.

We went down the next day to check how they had packed the
unit, in case we could pack it more efficiently. See first photo for our first sight of the unit. *That* is our £1200 mattress (bought for my wife's bad back) concertinaed and wedged in. Behind it was a rather expensive roll of carpet folded over (leaving a crease). I immediately called the removals centre to talk to
the agent that dealt with our move (Jason) but I was told he was off ill and someone would call me back that day. I was not called back. I emailed when I got home to express my concern and say that we tried to remove the mattress but it was too heavy for me to move alone and squeezing it out would most likely damage it more. Knowing this would then make me liable for the damage, I asked in my email for a team to come remove these items so we could repack it. After a couple of days wait, the centre's complaints team got back to me and after some emails back and forth, finally explained that as the unit was too small, this was our fault. I have accepted that the unit was too small, however I did not expect to have to explain to professional movers why it is not acceptable to concertina a mattress or bend a carpet over. There was obviously enough space length-ways to fit these items in.

After the complaints department insultingly offered to tell
sales to get in contact with me to quote on removing the items from storage(!!), I decided that the longer the mattress is in there, the more likely it is to be damaged. We went down and with the help of my brother in law and my sister in law, we managed to get the mattress and some of the bigger
items out. Upon emptying boxes, one box marked fragile which was resting half on one box and half on another dropped, shattering a crystal vase (see image). There was boot marks on the bookshelf where it had been kicked into place and an edge that had snapped off wasn't in the container (meaning it had been thrown away). Without this, we are unable to repair it.

We paid for a removal service, at the very least I would expect
this to mean we get items moved and not damaged. We didn't even get this level of service. Avoid this business, pay the premium and go for a company that cares.

I had this displeasure of using this Company for our move on 5 Jan 2018.
Firstly the Removal centre are just the middle men. They never come to your house to get an accurate idea of what needs moving so this can lead to you being told on the day the removal men arrive, that they wont be able to get you out in time as not enough men been sent. You get fined £150 PH for every hour after 1pm you have not moved out!! Bare that in mind if the quote is the cheapest because at the end, it wont be!!

The day began bad when we were told removal men would be arriving at 7 but did not arrive until gone 8.

Then we were told they wouldn't be able to get us out in time. We obviously started panicking and starting packing and moving things ourselves.

One of the removal men was intoxicated and became worse as the day went on.

Single beds were put out of bedroom windows instead of being dimantled and taken downstairs.

Boxes for bedrooms were not labelled so no idea what was where.

Other removal company moving in decided to help dismantle beds to help get us out.

Items included on inventory where left in the garden which we didn't realise until afterwards so we had to hire van and collect ourselves at a later date.( Luckily we still lived locally)

Just when things couldn't get any worse..
..The the end of the day they said they wanted more money which I didn't agree on so instead of us resolving the issues, they took the money from my debit card which I had paid deposit on ( they obviously kept my card details on file!!).

My husbands drill has also gone missing.

I have emailed the Company but NO RESPONSE.

DO NOT USE.
When doing something which is already stressful, I would rather use a reputable Company to make things as stress free as possible.

My only recommendation is to avoid this company at all cost.
They arrived late on the day of removal and did not even call.. could not join anyone in the office to get information on what was happening.
The whole house was emptied in 1h this is just to show that movers were more concerned in finishing the job asap then taking care of our belongings.
Items were broken.. company did not reimbursed although was insured.
Just avoid them. They don't care.
Movers asked us to pay total amount for them to empty their truck in our flat!! Or they would leave with our belongings!!
I have move several time in my life - this was the worst experience.
There are enough companies out there to avoid using this one.

Jason and his team at the Removal Centre, completely took the stress out of moving. Jason undertook the quote over the phone, meaning I didn't have to take time off work.

His team of two that he sent me had me out of my old place by 9.30am and all unpacked in my new place by 12.00pm, they were machines! Nothing got damaged and they were so respectful of my new home that had been freshly painted, no damage to the paintwork.

They took my bed apart and reassembled it and also plumbed in my washing machine. They went above and beyond their job.

I highly recommend this company.

An enormous thank you to Jason and the team. Flexible and accommodating to the end which was just what I needed being a busy hospital doctor. The removal men arrived early and efficiently packed and sorted everything. Everything was packed with care and nothing was broken. Team helped to move everything into new property just where I wanted it. The team really took the stress out of the day and I cannot thank them enough. I would thoroughly recommend them to friends and family. Fabulous service.

We have recently moved house and The Removal Centre were fantastic from start to finish. Thomas was informative, polite, flexible and very patient when we couldn't confirm a removal date for several weeks. When we had to change it at short notice, he made sure that all our requirements were still met on the revised date.

On the day of the move, my husband said that the 3 man team arrived punctually and worked like Trojans to ensure our belongings were carefully loaded, transported and unloaded. The team were fantastic and there was no fuss - my husband says he couldn't have asked more from them.

Overall, The Removal Centre took the stress out of what is well known to be a stressful time - all at a very fair price and with our needs at the forefront of their business.

I have now used Removals Centre for twice, having gone back to them following the initial very positive experience. They provided a very competitive quote in both instances, and the service, from start to finish, was excellent! Thomas was fantastic throughout, a great communicator, friendly, quick, efficient and confirming all details so everything was clear and professional. The removals men in each instance were great too, arriving ahead of schedule, polite, careful with my belongings, and neat and quick. I highly recommend them.

Removals centre were excellent - no hassle and were completely honest. I called and spoke to Alex who was very polite and very clear on what information I needed to send to him.

The two man crew arrived (08/09/15) bang on time at 8am. They both introduced them selves and were straight in the house to assess everything and then they started packing. They were professional, honest and we had a right laugh with them. We were packed by 11:30!

Very friendly, excellent price, professional and on time. Our house was packed securely, the size of the van was perfect.

Overall very great service, friendly, completely stress free and professional would recommend over and over again.

Removals Centre recently completed a move for me from Oxford to London. I thought it was quite a big job (five bedroom house, full packing service) and was surprised when they said they would do the whole thing in one day. The four guys arrived on time at 7am and worked incredibly hard and everything was finished by about 5.30pm. The price was also very reasonable compared to previous companies I had used, which had initially made me nervous, however they did a great job. The guys were polite and efficient. Thoroughly recommended.

I moved from Berkshire to Yorkshire I could not be happier with service I received the porters turned up on time. They were very efficient and quickly got to work they had emptied the whole house within an hour and a half. They got to Yorkshire in good time and packed the storage unit so well that they got it in to a smaller unit saving me money. All in all I would strongly recommend them.Thomas in the call centre was helpful and courtesy and followed the move every step of the way.

I had the pleasure of using Removals Centre in October for my house move. Jason was great from start to finish, he quoted me over the phone and sent a detailed inventory so I didn't have to take any time off work, they were also able to accommodate my moving date which wasn't confirmed until the week before. The team which turned up on the moving day were very polite and hard working, they had the moving van packed up within an hour and a half with no damage to the house and my items were handled with extreme care. They were also waiting at the next house before we got there ready to unload. I would highly recommend anyone using Removal Centre as their moving company they took one less stress away from the whole moving process again I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

This is the first time that I have used a removal company, so throughout the process I was a bit of a nervous wreck!

Looking back now I had nothing to worry about at all! On the day the guys did an incredible job in clearing my home and loading the vehicle with great speed, by the time the kettle had finished boiling there were only a few bits of furniture left.

Jason from the office was great too! I changed my removal dates a few times and they were flexible to my needs (with no additional charge).

I am a very happy customer and I want to say a big thank you to of all of the team at the Removal Centre!!

Removals Centre have been very good, they came and gave a very reasonable estimate and looked carefully at all the items that needed moving. Come the day of the move everything went smoothly, we have a second move at the end of Jan and I am sure that this will be equally as smooth. Top marks must go to Thomas for his customer Service, from helping with the quotation and then organising a Play Station 4 that had gone missing in a wardrobe, I was able to liaise with him and get the item out of storage and back to my son.
The guys who did the removals on the day were friendly and efficient, also patient as I needed to secure 4 cats before they could come into the house.

We moved from a second floor flat to a house recently, and the guys from Removal Centre were excellent. They worked so quickly, picking up and handling incredibly heavy items with ease. They also did so with the up most respect for the items and both houses, being careful not to damage anything.

They were friendly and genuinely seemed to want to help make the move stress-free, which they certainly did.

Getting a quote and organising the move was also easy, and our contact there was very helpful. I would highly recommend them.

A BIG THANK YOU to the team at Removals Centre, namely, Jason for his great Customer Service in promptness, respectfulness and patience. Together with the two-man team that helped me move on the day (sorry didn't note their names down). At both destinations (delivery approx.16 miles) they collected and transported the goods swiftly, carefully (as if they were their own goods), and respectfully. Nothing damaged at either end in respect to the homes themselves with being in and out a few times, and the same for all goods (not that I have opened everything but I know all's good. Amazing and brilliant service. Despite my initial wobble and doubts, there was clearly no need. Passing on the good news verbally when asked as well. Happy Days :-).

We had a few quotes from several removal firms, but the price quoted for Removals Centre and dealing with Tom on the phone is what set our decision.

Tom instantly made me feel welcome, understood and made sure everything went smoothly whenever we spoke.

We only moved from a 2-bed bungalow to a 1-bed flat, but the entire process took the 2 guys 3 hours to complete. They turned up at 9am, loaded, moved and unloaded the lot at the new place by 12pm. And this is included a coffee break. It was a sight to behold! They were very friendly and professional the entire time.

Nothing was broken. All boxes were placed where we asked.

We'd set aside the entire day to let it happen, but, being done so fast, we were able to spend the rest of the afternoon unpacking at our leisure.
