Not sure how many removal jobs this company has been involved in, but to us it seemed like it was their first!!

Badly organised and disrespectful to personal belongings which were just thrown in boxes. Likewise, boxes badly labelled and just dumped.

Had no apparent understanding of moving families with small children, beds and certain furniture which needed to be built in time for childrens bedtime.

Don’t get me wrong, the guys were extremely polite on the day but it’s only when you have time to reflect that you see the reality of what you’ve got.

Everything about this company seemed wrong and in hindsight, I chose this independent firm as I thought I’d get better service, but in future I’d go for one of the bigger firms. Just to be clear, the bigger firms quoted me less money for more service. This firm initially quoted double but I like to offer work to independent firms so I gave them the opportunity to match the price. They were still more expensive but based on the promise that we’d get a much better service from a family business, I chose to work with them.

Terrible service on the day and no response when I sent them a picture of a suitcase which they had stuffed a combination of books, trainers and a handbag into.

At the end of the day, trying to settle two boys aged 2yrs and 7 months, Sarah literally stood waiting for us to transfer the remaining balance. This is often the action of someone who is used to not being paid - which based on our bad experience, I can understand.

Thanks for nothing.

Warning - beware that you will probably not get the service you expect from this firm despite promises of being a long established family business.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: £3000

Pick up was ok. The lorry turned up on time and they seemed professional. Delivery was an altogether different experience. The lorry had been hired in for the day and leaked badly. As a result sofas, soft furnishings and some boxes were wet and stained. They also damaged several items of wooden furniture. Handles were knocked off, work tops scratched etc.
Our attempts to get compensation for the damage have been fruitless. Mrs Peck has consistently failed to reply to phone calls, letters and emails. Eventually we had a derisory offer of compensation, which would not even cover one item of repair. My aging mother has found the whole issue extremely upsetting.
i would not recommend Pecks Removals & Storage Ltd under any circumstances.

I can only praise this company. Peck and Partners were excellent. My mother recently died and her furniture was moved to my flat in London. I was given a very good quote and Peck and partner arrived on time and were friendly and easy to work with. Everything was very well packed and on meeting the other end were really helpful with putting some very heavy furniture in all the right places.

In addition to this, I had a few extra pieces to be removed on the exchange date of the house and these items were collected, again very punctually and with the same friendliness and care and with an exceptionally good quote. I would say this company go above and beyond the line of duty. I would defiantly use them again and recommend them to anyone that wants a professional and stress free removal.

So dissapointed with this company let us down with a week to go because we didn’twant to pay a deposit until we had exchanged contracts , spoke to Sarah Peck in the Friday saying I will call Monday once we’ve exchanged and transfer the deposit, only to call to be told date had gone, and no offer of another date, I had heard a couple of bad reviews about them but they moved us 18 years ago and were very good, Sarah also constantly texted me asking if we had another date which when your selling your house it’s very stressful and I personally found this annoying even a text sent in a evening. It’s such a shame that a long established company who served us well 18 years ago isno more! I certainly won’t be recommending them to anyone.

Really awful experience.  Total lack of respect of your home and belongings. We had mud trodden all through old house and new house as they failed to put any protection on the carpets, despite advising me on the phone when I booked them that they would.We booked 3 removals men, only 2 turned up on removal day. My baby's nursery furniture (wood, very expensive) was chipped and scratched which I was so very upset about.    Other wardrobes in spare room fell down after they put them up (and they didn't put the doors back on).  We tried to re-assemble but they were totally ruined. That's £500 worth of wardrobes ruined completely. Calls have done nothing. Copious letters of complaint have gone unanswered. .Be warned !

We used a removal company for the first time and I don't think we will ever do another move without them again. Pecks team arrived early, they never stopped packing the lorry, there were no unnecessary breaks and certainly no time wasting. Once the lorry was packed we had a small wait due to waiting for the go ahead from the solicitors. Once we arrived at our new house it was then full steam ahead and I can honestly say the men did us proud. ( I do believe that it was one of the lads second jobs) you would never have known though. Thank you for making the day of our move so relaxed and un stressful.

I found the details for this firm on our company website I wanted to use a local firm as we were only moving 3miles down the road but needed storage for a couple of weeks. To be honest if the removal guys themselves hadn't been a pleasure to deal with from the first meeting, move out and move in I would have rated this company lower.  The lack of clarity over costs and communication added with the attitude of the office staff would not encourage me to recommend the company.  To insist that the removal van turned up at 9am on the 'move in' date when completions rarely take place before midday wan absolutely ludicrous and the attitude of the office to our builder as well as ourselves was appalling.  .

A big thank you for the help and assistance the removal lads showed to us.  They were so nice - even had time for our crazy dog, Bob. I would not hesitate to recommend PECKS - the service was extremely efficient and streamlined.  It is a very stressful time moving - as anybody who has done this knows!! but the guys who "moved us" were very pleasant and helpful. They arrived promptly and how they managed to get all our "stuff" on is still beyond me!  It's like they drive around in a tardis! Only had a slight hiccup at the beginning which gave me a minor panic attack.. I had arranged the date and had confirmed this by e-mail.  On the following Monday I rang to confirm and unfortunately my date for the removal had not been "firmed up" by the admin staff.  Slight panic but Heather in the office sorted it out. The guys helped throughout the move and were very tidy - they had sufficient covers down to protect the carpets in the new home (which I was grateful for as I had cleaned them the night before with a hired carpet cleaner - very tough)!  Thanks again.

We have recently moved house and having been recommended Pecks Removals we asked for a quote even though some of the reviews we had read were not always great. Upon meeting with the staff we asked a few questions about the reviews and these were left under an old owner of the business. Since then it has been take over and I must say we were very impressed with the whole process. The 2 gentlemen we had moving us were great and they worked until 2:30am to ensure our belongings were all delivered safe and sound. They erected all beds and we had no issues at all, really really pleased we gave Pecks Removals a chance as they did not disappoint. Thank you so much for all your help and the price to move was much cheaper than some of the other quotes I had too ..

We chose Pecks to move our furniture to Prestbury since they were very good when we moved to Madeley back in 2009. This time they excelled themselves not only with their no fuss service and competitive costs. They even arranged an additional trip to collect several garden items that we were no too concerned about leaving behind. All for no extra cost. The staff were very friendly and nothing was damaged. I would highly recommend them for any removal jobs and I have passed on their details to other members of my company who may be moving in the coming months.

Do not trust this firm. They have been insolvent once and have started the business up again. They are not trustworthy. I have had my furniture and other items in storage only half the stuff has come back. Anything of any value has not been returned to me. I have sent loads of emails and tried to speak to them on the phone. They do not reply to any of the emails and they do not answer the phone you are left totally ignored. You are left totally upset over the unreturned items some of mine had a sentimental value and it’s heartbreaking. They are a totally untrustworthy removals and storage team.

We booked Pecks after Sarah visited to provide a quote. We were promised the large vehicle, this did not happen. We were promised personal supervision by Sarah, this did not happen. We were promised a start time of 8.30am, this did not happen. What did happen was two men turned up with a small van each, one was an independent "Man With a Van" subcontracted by Pecks the other an individual with a van-hire. Both guys worked like Trojans all day without breaks and completed the move by 5pm - can't fault them, however neither were part of the professional team promised and neither properly equipped. Throughout the day we were constantly being pestered by Sarah for payment and we finally deducted £50 from the bill to replace a desk that was broken during the move.

Very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, would highly recommend.
arrival was prompt re the time agreed, the removal men asked several questions (but not too many) to ascertain exact needs and any possible issues, then got on with the move.
they did not hang around and the packing was done in less than 3 hours. They had a short break on arrival at new property and then unpacked in less than 2 hours.

there were no breakages or issues and the removal men were friendly and courteous at all times.
