Manchester Removals and Storage Ltd.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE this company. They left me in a horrible horrible situation the day they were supposed to be emptying my house. I was selling my house in Cheshire and moving to Cornwall the beginning of October 2019. I booked this company to move my entire house and garden as they were the cheapest. Alarm bells should have rung. A guy turned up several months before the move and did a survey for the quote. I then got an email with the quote which I accepted. The day before completion TWO guys turned up with ONE Luton van. (I needed three). I asked where the other two were and he said this was it. He looked around the house again and said he didn’t think he’d get it all in one van. What a surprise! He said he had only just started the job when he quoted. They disappeared into the van for 10 minutes and one came out looking very sheepish. He said he had to go back to the depot to pick up another van. He said he would be about an hour. Two hours later, no one came. And they never did. In hindsight now it was clear they had no intention of coming back, Jason the boss had clearly told them to leave and not return, otherwise they would have loaded the first van there and then and then gone back to pick up the other. I had to be legally out of my house by 1pm the next day. I called all three phone numbers. No answer. I was in utter panic as you can imagine. This was now 5pm and other companies would be due to close. I eventually got an EMAIL off Jason the owner saying he was in a meeting!! He said my quote was a mistake and they could come in the morning with one more van if I paid them another £600!! I was shocked. How can a removal company do this. The guy buying my house was moving in the next day!! One of the most stressful days in someone’s life and they do this. I never even got a phone call or apology. That was the last I saw/heard from them. I am absolutely disgusted. My estate agent was horrified. In all her career she has never known this to happen. Luckily I called my second quote and they were AMAZING. Eagle Removals. Unfortunately they couldn’t move me to Cornwall the next day as they were full for the next 5 days but as I had to clear the house that day, they got a group of 6 lads together and were at my house within an hour and half of my phone call and moved my whole house and garden into storage for 5 days. They then brought it all down to Cornwall the following week in THREE Luton vans with 4 guys. This still worked out nearly £300 cheaper than Manchester Removals &. Storage were trying to charge me. Go with Eagles if you’re looking to move. I have emails to prove all of the above if they try to deny this. Awful awful awful company. Avoid at ALL COSTS.

The move I'm reviewing here was actually from Germany to the UK (although there is no option to display this fact in the options above, as it only covers UK domestic moves).   I haven't ever hired a removals firm before and so I put a lot of time into researching them, in order to find a reliable one. I was not disappointed!   Nick at MovingEverywhere was very courteous from the start and although the quote I received from him (1.250GBP) was in the middle of the (vast) range of quotes that I got (600-2600GBP), I finally decided that he would be able to provide the kind of attention to detail, honesty and flexibility that I was looking for in a removals firm.   As it transpired, Nick himself did not carry out the move - It was sub-contracted to Darran May Removals Ltd. At first, I was a bit miffed at this development, as I felt that I had been mislead somewhat and that my contract with MovingEverywhere was simply being 'palmed off' on another company. However, once I got in touch with Darran, I could see that the two companies were very much working in partnership and that I had nothing to fear.   I found Darran to be an honest, no-nonsense sort of guy, who was always true to his word. He and his team arrived in Germany on time for the collection, loaded everything that I wanted them to take onto the van (including a few extra bits that weren't included in the original estimate) and set off for England the same day. My possesions were even lucky enough to have the whole van to themselves (see photo), as there were no other customers in Germany that week (although this is not always the case).   The next day, I met them (on time again) in Tunbridge Wells, where they very swiftly and without any fuss unloaded the entire contents of the van, putting everything in the correct rooms (according to a colour-coding system that I'd used on the boxes).   Once I got round to unpacking everything, I discovered to nothing at all was either missing, damaged or even marked in any way. A perfect move!!   This isn't 'high praise' - it's simply a statement of fact.   In short, I couldn't have been happier with the move, unless they'd gone mad and done it for half the price ;-) . I hope that anyone reading this review and deciding to use MovingEverywhere or Darran May Removals will have the same great experience that I did.

We have moved with Movingeverywhere two times, and both times we were very impressed by the excellent service which they provided. We have moved many times, within the UK and internationally, and Nick and his team are the most professional, honest, and reliable movers that we have used. Our most recent move with them was a large move of all of our family possessions, which included packing and unpacking services, and took two days in total. There were many potentially stressful details which had to be accounted for and the Movingeverywhere team communicated with us and coordinated beautifully to get the job done without any problems. We would definitely move with them again.

Movingeverywhere were helpful and provided a quotation quickly. They were also very good at making everything seem calm in what could be a stressful time. The removals company, Montfords, were fantastic – Jordan co-ordinated everything very well on the day of collection and ensured that he and his colleague took great care with our belongings. The delivery was made very promptly, and again, Jordan and his colleagues were brilliant at ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The removals men were polite, friendly and very careful. We are very happy with the service we received on the day. Thank you!

Used Nick and his team for 2nd time in 4 years-this time for a return from Norfolk back to North West.The 2 day move was well planned in advance by Nick and a visit by his team the day before went a long way to calming my nerves and reassuring my fears as we seemed to be taking much more back than we originally brought.The day of collection went brilliantly-the team of 4 arrived on time and worked quickly but with great care and attention.They were fully loaded and away within 3 hours which meant I was able to drive up North in daylight a good 2 hours earlier than anticipated.On day 2 we arrived at the new house to find the guys already there ready to unload.In less than 2 hours all our belongings were carefully installed exactly where we requested.In the days that followed we established that nothing was missing or damaged in any way-a pleasnt surprise considering the volume of stuff and the distance(over 200 miles) involved.At all times the guys were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.Would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to others.

Nick and his men from Moving Everywhere were absolutely superb. I had the packing service and the care and attention taken was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. They moved my piano which is exceptionally heavy. And then they cleaned up. The whole experience from my first contact with Nick was superb. I initially booked a date and needed to change it at quite short notice. There was absolutely no problem. My new date was accommodated and times all organized to suit me. The men who did the removals were brilliant. Very respectful and the highest professional standard. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I had quotes from three different removal companies but Nick was by far the most personable and came across as someone who enjoys what they do and who values his clients. When he came to visit he went through all the key points and explained exactly what was included in the service. On the day of the move, Nick and his  colleague who carried out the move were amazing. They were friendly, effiicient and very professional. The move went very smoothly, except for me misplacing my car keys just as we were abaout to set off, but Nick was very calm, patient and reassuring. When we arrived at my new home they unloaded and set things up in no time. They made what is usually a stressful experience very pleasant. I highly recommend their services. .

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Anyone considering them for a move will not be disappointed, as they deliver an excellent service from start to finish. 
Nick's initial visit to survey and price up was on-time, extremely thorough and trouble free. The follow-up and organisation around the visit was also without problems.
The move itself went extremely smoothly, with the team turning up on time and in numbers to quickly move the contents of our 3 bed rental property to our 3 bed home in a couple of trips in the van. The loading and unloading of our furniture was done with a great deal of care and there was no damage to report at the end of it all. 
All in all this was a fuss-free move with absolutely no dramas to report. Nick's a proper gentleman and the company was a pleasure to deal with from the start.

This company handled our move from Manchester area to Sheffield area in February this year and I cannot speak highly enough of them. The price was very competetive, and I was worried that this might mean a reduction in customer service, but not at all. Communication was great throughout and things could not have gone more smoothly on the day. The whole team were friendly, polite and professional, with a cheerful 'can do' attitude. From an prompt 9am, we were done by 3.30pm, with everything safely deposited in the right rooms of our new home. They made the whole move as stress free as possible, so a big thumbs up from us for Nick and the team, and a big thank you.  .

We received proposals from three companies for our move from Manchester to Edinburgh.  Nick from Moving Everywhere was by far the most professional, knowledgeable and courteous.  His price was also right on the mark. The move itself spanned three days and involved the pre-pack of our house on the first day, loading the truck with transport to Edinburgh the next, and finally delivery to our flat with a full reconstruction of the items they had taken apart during the pack.  Everything arrived safely and nothing was broken, lost or damaged.  Nick and his team were extremely efficient - they pre-arranged parking arrangements with the city to accommodate their van, and even hauling a house-load of goods up two flights of stairs did not slow them down. The only criticism I have is meant to be constructive.  Twice we received a telephone call from Nick, the conversations which involved a proposed change to moving plans (which were then switched back) and a request to bump up a meeting time on very short notice.  While I appreciate the moving-business requires the client to be flexible, these calls left me feeling anxious and less confident Moving Everywhere would perform well. These worries were completely abated on the days of the move.  Moving Everywhere was right on time, right on schedule, and worked hard.  This was our 6th move in less than 10 years and Moving Everywhere helped make this one one of the easiest and most stress-free yet.  I recommend them highly and look forward to using them again for our future relocations.

I cannot recommend Nick and the Moving Everywhere team highly enough. I was blown away with the service provided from the professionalism of the initial quotation, right through to the hard work that the team did on the day of the move. After receiving my initial quotation , Nick followed up with a polite phone call, and suggested a home visit to check that everything was ok. On arriving at our home, Nick produced a pair of overshoes from his pocket, and put these on before entering out home. I have to say that this small act, definitely impressed my fiancé. It is true what they say, its “the small touches that make all the difference”
Once Nick had completed his survey, he then produced a final quotation, listing all the various options available to us, and explaining his reasons for these.
Throughout the process before the move, Nick kept in touch, to make sure everything was Ok, asking if we had enough boxes, was there anything he could do, and if there was anything we wanted, just to let him know. On the day before the move , Nick contacted us again to say, that they would be there for 9 AM, and guess what, they were there at 9AM. I have to say here that this was great consideration on Nicks part, as we lived on the 5th floor of an apartment block, with an underground car park, that is busy from 7AM to 9AM, and he did not want to cause any disruption to other people’s routines.
On arriving at our home on the day of the move, Nick asked how we were, and my fiancée replied, “stressed” to which Nick replied, “stress is over, we will take that out of your hands now”, which they did
The team introduced themselves, and set to work immediately. They were that efficient that the move from a 5th floor Apartment, across a 100 metre garage, up a 20 metre ramp, only took 2 hours. At this point I would also like to mention that although we did have more or less everything boxed up, there were a number of items we had precautiously stacked in bags, but not once did any of the lads complain about how these things were packed.
Once loaded, the team met us at the new house, and started to unload immediately. They covered all the carpets with blankets were they would be walking and had everything completed within a couple of hours.
Like I said before I cannot praise the professionalism, endeavour and friendliness of the Moving Everywhere team enough, suffice to say I would definitely use again and would recommend them to all my friends. They offer a five star service at very affordable rates (I did not mention earlier that the initial quotation was about 40% cheaper than I expected).
Like I said to Nick, if Carlsberg made Home removal companies, they would make Moving Everywhere.

Big thanks to Nick and his team, from initial booking of our move to closing our new front door when they left, just one word. Easy! The 3 blokes who actually moved us were brilliant. Aidan kept our 8 and 10 yr boys laughing all the way, even though they were very anxious about moving 80 miles away from everything they've known. Furniture was handled with care at both ends of the process and we had functioning rooms the same day. A job well done, we would highly recommend Nick and his team on price, punctuality and the way they made a stressful time seem so less stressful. Thanks from the Smith's. .

Movingeverywhere were excellent right from the first enquiry to leaving us happy in our new home. Nick was very responsive and flexible with moving dates and planning and his team of removals men were very professional and friendly. They were very efficient and from arriving at our house to leaving us in our new home (including dismantling and reassembling two beds) took only four and a half hours. We were in and unpacking by lunchtime! Breakables, such as glass and photo frames, were very well packed in their special packing materials so that it all arrived in one piece. I would definitely recommend movingeverywhere to take the hassle out of moving. The cost of moving and disassembling/reassembling two double beds was £426 and then £60 for packing materials (with a % refund for return of the boxes at the end).

Nick and the whole team were excellent. They worked very hard and efficiently transferred my house contents, totally hassle free. Highly recommended for local and national moves. Nothing was too much to ask and Nick was very accomodating for any additional requests. They arrived on time, packed everything carefully, and moved everything without damage. the pack unpack service is highly recommended, all you have to do is tell them which room everything goes from and in to.

I contacted Movingeverywhere back in November when I read there reviews on this site.  I had the offer on my house.  Nick visited my house to have a look around, during the visit I was given different options of the service which they offer.
I received their quote which was not the cheapest, but I thought the service was flexible as I wanted to do some packing myself but not the fragile stuff, so had the fragile pack service.  I also liked it that when I unpacked the boxes I could get a discount.
My move was last week and the men arrived on time, started to pack the fragile stuff - they even helped me with my bed and finish off the packing.  The men were in good spirits and were making the whole move kind of fun.
What did impress me was that they covered over the front door with blankets and used covers for my sofa and chairs.
The lorry was unloaded, everything went in the rooms I wanted them to go, the bed was re-built.  They even emptied the clothes which were hung in the wardrobe boxes.
At the end of the move the supervisor did a walk around to check everything was OK, and they even had time for a quick cup of coffee before they left, all in all a very good service.

Very happy with the whole experience from Moving Everywhere.  Home visit pre move answered all our questions, and set our minds at rest. On the day Nick and his team arrived bang on time, got everything packed and on the vehicles in the time they had estimated and were both and friendly and professional throughout.  On arrival at our new property they took time to ask where we wanted everything and worked very fast (but carefully) so that, before we knew it, we were able to sit back and open a bottle of something cold with all everthing completed.  On top of all this the price was competative.  All in all, highly recommended.

Our house move up to Scotland was managed extremely well from the very first contact.  Nick gave valuable practical advice every step of the way and the communication was excellent throughout. We packed ourselves and used Moving Everywheres packing materials which were great and plentiful! Somehow they knew how much we required! The move days were made less stressful for us by a friendly and hardworking removals team. I would recommend Moving Everywhere to my friends and family. A work colleague recommended Moving Everywhere to us and i'm very glad she did as there are so many companies out there and moving house is not something you do every day, it could be a real gamble. I would use Moving Everywhere again (but hopefully not for a while!).
