We paid in full - they never provided services and no refund!
Everyone who suffered a loss at the hands of European Moving or App a van limited join the public facebook group "Victims of European Moving Scam". We have 20 members and growing!
We booked removals with European Moving for January 2021, paid in full for their services. They cancelled less than 24 hours before the move, because they never bothered to prepare for Brexit, even though their sales team kept assuring us for weeks that there will be no issues. We lost the money we paid and we have to pay double for new moving company as it was booked at last minute!
I went to court to recover the debt, since after numerous emails they never paid, and got a CCJ against them in April. Though, it looks like they don't care, in fact to avoid paying the dept they changed their ltd name from EUROPEAN MOVING TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED to DPB STORAGE LIMITED on 13th May 2021.
Don't be fooled by positive reviews, do you really want to risk loosing your money? You might be lucky, but if not, you probably won't see your money. In fact, we later discovered that it is not normal to ask for full payment up front and usually only 30% is paid before the move and the rest when the goods arrive.
Driver screaming and shouting bad language in Romanian in my new road in France. Then decides to take a pee in the street too. The mayors office is virtually opposite my new house. Instead of spending a pleasant week getting to know my new neighbors, Ive spent the week apologising for his dreadful behaviour.
Ohh not to mention all my furniture is scratched and dented. All mattresses distoroyed in transit.
Sent a complaint a week ago and not a single person has responded.
Pity as the initial customer service was good.
Choose carefully!
Finally get a call and driver denies all what happened. I’m made out to be the bad guy.
Avoid at all cost as you will get the blame in the end!!
Our relocation with European Moving went very well and we're very thankful to them for the service provided, which took a lot of the stress out of our relocation.
Even though we had about only half-load in terms of both volume of weight, we preferred to book a full loaf, for a direct delivery and to have more control over our pick-up date and time.
The communication was very efficient before and during the move, when we called their office to get a more accurate time on our scheduled pick-up, they were very quick in replying and providing the info to us.
Our driver helped with the loading of the van, he had furniture blankets on the car as well, which were very helpful.
We were given an estimate for the delivery for either Saturday or Sunday; on Saturday we used the Live Chat feature to check the whereabouts of the van, and once again got a very prompt response, letting us know the van will deliver on the same afternoon. Our driver was super quick in getting to the destination, and he was also very helpful with unloading here.
I would definitely recommend European Moving to people looking to relocate. No hidden fees, no 'gotchas'. A reliable service at a very good price. Make sure not to go over the allocated volume and weight, and you'll be just fine!
Avoid - cannot be trusted as a professional moving company
I booked European Moving as a shared load with a friend of mine - for two pick ups and two drop offs.
During the very short period of discussing and making my booking through to the move taking place, I had 3 different moves consultants - all of them spent time reviewing my very detailed inventory which they asked me to produce and very accurately quoted me on my m3 usage. At no point did any of the 'professional estimators' discuss any weight of my items or provide me with any information on any weight limits on the van. All of my discussions with the 3 move estimators were based on the m3 - and no mention of weight at all. My calculations would suggest that for my move alone they must have estimated my boxes (listed as 60cmx60cmx40cm) as less than 9kg each. I can't imagine anyone moving house to have boxes less than 9kg each unless they were actually advised of this.
I was sent a contract the week before the move taking place and I did not notice that a weight limit had been added to the contract - it was something I overlooked and as I mentioned, no weight limit was discussed with the professional estimator.
On the day of the move, the van driver told me that we were over the weight - as I had not noticed this clause in the contract (my own fault) this was a complete surprise.
Queue then about 4 hours of discussions to discuss how to deal with this, with suggestions of leaving part of my load behind (I was moving from London to Italy - so this wasn't an option) - so in the end, I was left with the only option of paying an additional 1000 euro for the whole van and the company effectively had to cancel the second pick up of my friends belongings.
All in all - something which could have been avoided had the 'professional estimators' actually done their job of estimating.
On top of this, 1) the van driver was not provided address details for pick up and drop off - he had a postcode only which covers my whole street and proceeded to wake up my neighbours at 7am trying to find me. 2) The van driver didn't speak a word of english - I couldn't care less which country the driver is from, but if I am being provided with a service and the driver needs to speak to me, it would make sense to send a driver who spoke english or an on hand translator - as it was, a lot of time was wasted whilst the driver called his boss, relayed a message and I would get a call 15 minutes later to pass it on in english. 3) The inside of the van was filthy - on reading the european moving guide, It was advisable to provide blankets to protect the furniture and boxes etc from moving around - it doesn't ask you protect the furniture and boxes from getting absolutely filthy from the inside of the van. All blankets used were absolutely black and what blankets could have been reused had to be thrown away. 4) None of my business but in what english the driver could speak, he was complaining about being asked to work away for 5 weeks with no breaks and having no money - not a great company to work for it would seem. 5) I was told in no uncertain terms that my inventory was so important by European moving and this must be adhered to the letter. The driver couldn't care less about my inventory and refused to even look at it let alone take a copy.
All of these issues were raised with Sam and Nuala at European moving who could not have cared less - they were very happy to take my extra 1000 euro so that I was forced to pay for a full van rather than what I had been quoted in m3, they were happy to bin my friends things - which have still not been moved. They were not happy to listed to any of my feedback on the van or driver or overall experience - and I was only advised that I should have raised these on the day, not afterwards. To be honest, with being held to ransom on my day of moving for 1000 euro to get my belongings moved and all of the other stress that this caused on moving day - I had enough to think about.
My view - this is probably a good 'haulage' company who can probably suitably shift a pallet or load from one place to another - their van, driver, overall service and customer service would seem to suggest that they should not be used as a professional moving company.
I normally wouldn't do this but these guys are an absolute disgrace. They lost several of my possessions including my television (delivering them to a different location), made minimal effort to locate them afterwards, persistently ignored my emails inquiring and refused to compensate me citing something buried in the terms and conditions.
One of those items had personal value to me and its either in someones house or rotting on the side of the road somewhere.
They are nice in the begining. Once you contract them start the problems. They don't answer you a lot of emails. they don't confirm you the day and time exactly I receive the call 15 minutes before the an arrives.
They lost part of the load, and they don't take any responsability they just assume 40£ per box lost, 40£!! for one plenty and full moving box, less than the value of one trouser!!
They don't give you dates for the delivery maybe one day maybe two weeks so if you have to plan your trip good luck with them you wont never know.
Not What I paid for, unprofessional, would not recommend.
Shambolic! Would not recommend. Do not use for private removal! Their customer service was good up until you have paid and then it is terrible once they have your money. I paid for a full load van yet the driver stopped to do multiple other jobs and all my belongings were moved and some damaged when they arrived at their destination. Using this company made this international move extremely stressful from pick up to delivery and beyond. I have moved many times nationally and internationally and this is the worst service I have ever experienced.
My removal started off on the wrong foot and just got worse. I booked a morning pick up and our driver did not arrive until after 1 pm meaning we were sat around for hours waiting. When I phoned the office to see where the van was they had no idea.
The driver arrived with seemingly no idea of the size of the load or the delivery address even though we had given all the information, inventory, the address and GPS coordinates to European Moving, it seems they had not been passed on. The driver was still not aware of the delivery address on the day of delivery and we received and had to make several calls from/to him to resolve this.
We had agreed a morning delivery time and our belongings were not delivered until after 5 pm. When we opened the van there was industrial metal sheeting lying on top of my belongings. This was a surprise as I had booked the full 20 m3 volume (1000 kg weight) stated in the contract as a 'full load'. Our furniture and belongings had been moved significantly and there was obvious damage to some of them.
We had taken great care to ensure our belongings were secure and unlikely to be damaged. However, additional deliveries had been picked up and dropped off. This was confirmed by the driver who again did not seem to be aware of the service we had booked. I can only put this down to a lack of communication from European Moving. The additional jobs were evident as our belongings had been moved within the van to an extent which was not required for only the metal sheeting. Our belongings were no longer strapped down securely and very heavy items were placed on top of very fragile items. There was damage to a number of our items which is not covered by European Moving or the insurance that I had purchased additionally.
I reported the issues we were having whilst they were occurring and directly after they had occurred in December. I sent them photographic and video evidence and no one returned my calls to discuss the issues we had in over a month. I had to call several times and say I would remain on hold before someone finally spoke to me about my complaint. This complaint is still not resolved.
They were absolutely awful in terms of communications, politeness, honesty, quality and delivery.
We have booked a moving from London (UK) to Madrid (Spain) for 3 cubic meters. Our mistake was to not to check that there was a limit of 150 kgs which represents 6 average luggages (quite limited for 3 cubic meters).
On the pick up day, they arrive late but the driver accepted everything and he has accepted everything even though it was more than 150 kgs. He told us it was not an issue and our moving should arrive in Spain in 2-3 days.
After several days passed the due date for the delivery, the lies started: driver is about to arrive, driver was there but you did not open the the door, driver got lost because the address was incorrect, and a very long etc.
After several calls, we found out that the moving was stuck in UK!
After another few days history starts to change and be mixed: your boxes never left UK because they are over weighted. We were surprised it took them almost a week to weight them and if it was for security reason the driver has accepted our boxes. They literally kidnapped our boxes (pretty much all our life) and threatened us to pay a random extra fee, that without explanation or evidence was double of the initial price.
As in every kidnap, we tried to get a few evidences, but we were forced to pay to get our life back. Only then and after a few more lies and countless and rude calls, the driver arrived very late (they asked us to wait the driver from 8am and he arrived at 9pm), hit the door of the garage, quickly throwing the boxes.
It was an intense 3 weeks with almost daily call and investigation to understand where were our boxes, when will be the delivery day, etc..
In conclusion, the company accepts our boxes and then asked for double price, they were not easily reachable, they were very rude with us, almost insulting us!, they lied to us several times, and they never contacted us back to know if we received everything.
The only positive thing is all our boxes arrived safe and sounds.
It was an almost seamless process, from booking to delivery. The driver Damian, a Polish young man, was courteous and very helpful, even arrived earlier than expected. The terrible stress of moving over half a continent was greatly diminished by the professional of this company. Should we need this kind of services again, we'll definitely contact them.
Highly recommended!
Moving from Berlin to Paris went smoothly as planned. Booking was easy, customer support eager to help and movers prompt and efficient. Minor hitch: they were supposed to contact me the day before to set the times of collection and delivery, but with no news from them by late afternoon I had to call the company myself (several times). Overall good value for money.
