Yesterday Lukas and his crew helped me

move houses from wiltshire to oxfordshire. They showed up in the morning to pack my belongings into boxes, which after opening the boxes today I must admit I am extremely impressed as everything is packaged in a very sturdy manner including fragile boxes being very well taken care of. Further they moved a few of my items and boxes into storage. Whcih I also had the pleasure of looking at today and im genuinely amazed. Its all very nicely stacked but in such way that every time is accessible without the need of moving stuff around which I really appreciate. As these things may be here for a while and i wasn’t sure entirely sure what i would need.

Thanks you, after being let down previously by a different company I was sceptical but so positively surprised.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: £700

In my opinion, these are important notes for your house move which I wish I knew and followed.

1. Avoid We Move And Clean from Swindon, especially for large home removals. They seem to do well with smaller moves, but not large 4/5 bed home removals.

2. Read the fine print. They will use it to get extra money. Don’t make the mistake I made and trust that all will go well and that you will be treated fairly.

3. If you have to use them, do not pay the deposit with the online link they email you. They will store the card details and use your credit card details to charge unauthorised extra charges after the move without your consent. This is not right and we all know it’s poor customer service, but it seems to be legal as they mention it in the fine print, so they will get away with it, unless you contact your bank to try to reverse the charge.

4. Do not do the online self-assessment quote, instead ask them to do the assessment in person.

5. They may tell you after your move that the self-assessment was wrong and that they must charge at least £495 extra and up to £1000 as in our case. This also seems to be legal as it is mentioned in the quote.

6. Make sure they fully load each van. In my case, they didn’t fully load the 3 Luton vans quoted for and used the extra load to get the extra charge from us. This extra charge they will take from your card whether you want to pay it or not.

7. Insist on a face-to-face assessment so that they can do an accurate quote like other professional removal companies. I did my assessment based on physical assessments done by another removal company (that company couldn't accommodate my date in the end), but wemoveandclean still charged extra because they chose to spread the load over 4 vans.

8. Take photos of each van once it’s loaded and make sure they fully load it before closing the doors. I didn't take any photos and really regret it as I don't have proof of their poorly loaded vans or the damage to my sofabed.

9. Take photos of any damages immediately, whether you plan to claim or not. Take photos! There’s a good chance you won’t get compensated for damages otherwise. I'm still waiting for compensation.

10. Use only professional removers who are registered with the British Association of Removers https://bar.co.uk/.

11. Be prepared to be spoken to in an unprofessional, impatient and condescending aggressive manner, if you don’t know the answer to Lucas’s questions the first time.

13. All the good reviewers paid a fair prices of £900 and less for 4 bed houses and smaller. I was charged £2000 for a 5 bed which I was happy to pay, but then charged another £495 on top of that based on the fact that they did not load properly. They didn't communicate that there would be an extra charge on the day either. If they did, I would've reminded them that I have a week to move out of the house and that I can move the few extra things in my own van. Not worth and extra £500!!!!

Lucas is a very polite, professional person. He was very helpful at all stages: from the booking stage to the actual removal day. I was going to rent a van and do the house move myself with some friends, but after being let down, I was looking for a hand. In the end, Lucas gave me such a good price that I cancelled my van rental and went through him for the whole thing. On the day of the move, my sofa wouldn't fit through the door, so Lucas actually offered to keep it in storage for me (also at a good price) and delivered it later when I was able to accommodate it. I highly recommend.

Service cost: £395

My family and I moved from Melksham to Highworth and hired Lucas and his team. I looked for movers on Checkatrade website and not only are they accredited, they had the best reviews. They have very reasonable prices as well.

It took 2 trips (very large vehicles) and I knew we were in good hands. They are polite, conscientious and packed our things very carefully almost as if they were moving their own things. You will never meet a better group of hard working people like them. I hope to never move again but if I do, I will call Lucas and hire them again.

I would highly recommend We Move and Clean above any others. If you plan to move, and want to hire them, call them as soon as you can because they are super busy which shows how awesome they are!

I cannot say enough good things about the experience we had with this company. We were in an emergency situation. My father passed away unexpectedly and we had to move my mother into assisted living as soon as possible, and on a holiday weekend. They showed up on time and got right to work. The two movers were respectful, courteous, and handled my mother's belongings like they were their own. Every piece was protected and wrapped to ensure safe travel. When we arrived at the destination, they unpacked, set the furniture up and picked up every scrap of trash. I was very impressed with both of them. Not one scratch, nick, or broken piece of furniture. If I ever have need of a moving company again, I will only call We move and Clean. My sincere thanks for a great experience during a most difficult time.

You can't go wrong with We Move And Clean. We used them to move from Lechlade to the Wantage area. We preferred to use a local moving company instead of others. We Move And Clean delivered on all counts. Their personnel was very responsive and communicative throughout the process. Our move took place on schedule and our belongings showed up at our new home also right on schedule. The movers took extreme care with our belongings and were professional throughout the process. You won't regret using this company.

Words alone cannot convey how much I appreciate these fine people. At a really bad time in my life I turned to them for help and they did not let me down. After my husband's death they immediately came and took enough furniture etc to get me okay in a home we already owned in Wanborough. Part of the move was put into storage - the rest into a new home not really ready for occupancy. I really dont remember how many times they came back but finally all that is left is part of a storage locker. They were very careful - they moved my husbands grandfather clock he had built and I cherished - my good china. Some time in September I will have them come and finally clean out the storage locker and get everything under one roof again. I can never ever thank them enough. I could never have afforded to have any other company do what they did. I feel as though they are now part of my family and I am eternally grateful to them. During the hardest part of my life they made it happen and by myself I could never have accomplished this move. From Sarah at the office to Lucas each and every one of the people I have come into contact with has helped me and treated me well and I will be eternally grateful to them during one of the most difficult times in my long life.
