Didn't move all my furniture & charged 50% to quote

I hope you find this review balanced and will enable you to make up your own mind whether it is worth using Tigers Removals.

My Completion date moved back 3 times n December and 3 times Tigers were able to accommodate my new date.

HOWEVER, on the day, Tigers arrived late as they had to do another job left over from the day before. Then they turned up with just a 7.5 tonne lorry and 2 guys when I had paid £900 for a 7.5 tonner, a Luton van & 3 guys.

Now to be fair to Tigers the 2 guys worked very hard and carefully. However my buyer failed to complete on time by 5pm and we could only exchange contracts by 5pm on moving day.(Thursday) and Tigers had only had enough time to move half of our stuff. So Tigers agreed to move the remaining half of our furniture the next available day which was Saturday.

We completed the next morning Friday. However on Saturday, Tigers turned up an hour late with just a large Luton van (maybe 3.5 tonne) & 2 guys. We agreed they would need to do a few runs to get all our remaining stuff moved. The distance to the new house was about 8 miles. We were also using both our large cars to transfer a lot of the smaller furniture on both the Thursday & Saturday.

So the 2 guys packed the 1st load of furniture but when they got to the new house I then got a call from Tigers office manager, Chris, saying he wanted £425 to unload the furniture and finish the job.

I was not happy as Tigers did NOT tell me there would be an extra charge for this Saturday job when I booked them on the Thursday. I told them I was unhappy that I was only told about the £425 once my furniture was loaded. I was being forced to pay almost 50% again to do the work I had already paid for.

I spoke to the owner of Tigers (Gary) who reduced the cost down to £350 but that still felt wrong AND i had to immediately pay it by bank transfer otherwise they told me they would take my furniture to storage. As a customer. Gary did also offer me a free use of a Tigers van in the future, but this did not excuse the feeling of being held to ransom.

I expect Tigers Removals to tell customers clearly what the costs are BEFORE they start work.

The 2 lads did 3 runs but because of the late start & the smallish van, they left us with still quite a lot of furniture to move by about 5pm. It took 4 of our family another 4 car loads to move the furniture left by Tigers.

Now I appreciate it was a Saturday & the 2 lads had home lives so it wasn't their fault but Tigers should have completed their contractual obligation which I had in writing, to move all my furniture.

Very unhappy with the way they have treated me as a customer, but I will let you make your own minds up

Excellent Friendly Customer service

Please forward on our thanks to Dilyan and Dan for such an excellent, friendly service and care taken to avoid damage to our furniture. Nothing was too much trouble. Rung to confirm expected time of arrival. Liked the drop off of 30 boxes and bubble wrap 2 weeks prior to our move which was really helpful. Also, supplying cardboard wardrobes too though only received 2 out of 7 but not a big problem.

Very reasonable cost compared to others and although had to do a couple of trips, there was no additional cost. Thank you, would certainly use again or recommend you to others.

Local move with 2 weeks storage

We received a first class service with them turning up promptly with 3 men and quickly loading the van.

Our furniture went into storage for 2 weeks as we were unable to get into our new property. It was then delivered at the time we requested and was all unloaded within an hour.

I would certainly recommend them to friends and family without any hesitation.

Disappointing

Small house move - no wardrobes, minimal gardening equipment - but the lorry provided was not big enough to get everything in. Only two operatives - I had to act as a third and we still didn’t get everything loaded until about 3.00pm. Thankfully, my purchaser was not moving in on the same day.

The contract included dismantling a bed and reassembling it at the new address. However, there was no room on the van and eventually, thanks to my kind and accommodating neighbours, the components of the bed were left in their garage for collection later. ‘Later’ turned out to be four days later and did not include reassembly. In fact, Tigers Removals never did reassemble the bed - they made four appointments to do so but cancelled each one.

Moving house is a very stressful business at the best of times but I’m afraid Tigers Removals added to the stress. I wish I’d read the reviews more carefully.

Bridlington Storage To Home In Norwich

Good pleasant service from start to finish. Pickup from storage unit in Bridlington my key holder and storage manager impressed by their service.

Managed to get down to Norwich earlier than expected and as I had keys early too they emptied the lorry that night rather than next morning - excellent - done in a day rather than 2 expected.

Under quoted for the job so gave a large tip once finished and slight panic just before moving day due to driver shortage, but it was sorted by them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Tigers removals were tasked with our house move which involved moving contents of our property in York to our new property in Essex. The owner did the standard walk around and noted contents in our shed (lawn mower, tools etc). The day after the removal was completed I noticed that nothing from our shed had arrived at our new house.

I spoke to them on the phone and they initially seemed to be blaming the fact that it was my mother who let them in to the property (we were already in Essex as we have a family and our kids needed to attend their new school), they claimed my mother did not know there was anything in the shed, however seemed to backtrack from this when they took a look at the job sheet which stated there were items in the shed!

I was very reasonable and said they could leave the items at my mothers in York, rather than taking it all to Essex. They told me they could collect the items the next day and I should email them the details, unfortunately due to having just moved I forgot to send them the details (of course they knew where they were picking up from already) they didnt remind me to send them or give me a courtsey call and just didn't turn up, despite the new owner waiting in for them. I then chased them up and gave them all the details in an email and had a job properly booked in, again the new owner waited in for them and they never turned up. I chased them up again and they seemed to have no idea why that happened (except that it was the owner of the company who was supposed to do the collection). I booked them in again, this time they liased with the new owner on a suitable time.

Once again they failed to turn up and the new owner (having waited around all evening) asked me where they were. I spoke to them on the phone and was told the removers were delayed (a good 2 hours away), James the company owner told me he would personally speak to the new owner, however he never did.

I am now at my wits end as I have been nothing but reasonable about this and have been let down consistently, on top of that I have essentially been lied to by the company owner, they clearly have no intention of collecting the items and are simply giving us the run around.

What is even more frustrating is that I took out extra insurance with them, which obviously means nothing. I am now having to arrange, and pay for a more competant company to do the job.

Avoid! They are cowboys and liars.

SHOCKINGLY BAD

Shocking service. My friend moved house on 4th July and they brought a smaller van than what was agreed. This meant not all her furniture would go in the van. SHE IS STILL WAITING FOR THE REMAINING FURNITURE which includes her wheelchair. How a company can operate this way is beyond me . Zero consideration for the customer and her physical needs. This is close to stealing property. Legal advice is being undertaken.

Moving house

Tiger removals moved my daughter to her new house today. They accommodated changing the time to the afternoon because she couldn't get the keys before 12

They were running late so they sent to extra men and they were really efficient and quick and start to finish about 3 hours to move a full house. I can't fault them and would definitely use them again, lovely lads too, organised and friendly.

We had a small flat but quite a bit of furniture. Steve and Sean were great , very helpful and considerate. We were kept updated on time of arrival prior to the move and all went according to plan.
I recommend Tiger.

Expensive Untrustworthy.

I used this company to move homes, they were late, the vehicle wasn't large enough and had to leave items behind to be collected on another trip. Charged way over the odds for the journey and the information they gave was inaccurate. I would definitely not use them again. The truth is difficult for them to find.

Unreliable and dishonest.

They were four hours late, caused hundreds of pounds of damage to my property and demanded an extra £40 over the agreed price. Don't go near this company!

Great service

The service we received from Tigers Removals was brilliant from start to finish, the move was well organised and the 2 lads on the day of the move grafted all day up until everything was in our new house! Certainly made the move a lot less stressful.

Would not recommend

Threw items into the truck. Did not cover any of the furniture with any protective covering. Will not do anything about the scratches on the items. Placed items in the wrong rooms even though labelled up. They say you get what you pay for. No masks, and smoked in the vehicle.

Did not seem to know what they were doing . Refused to take all our furniture even though a full house survey had already been done by their salesman . Still waiting for compensation 10 weeks on for damaged goods. Totally ignoring our emails and phone calls . Do not use this company !!

Please do not use

Please do not use !!!- would hate anyone to go through the trauma we did.

- Late on all 3 days

- damages, goods left behind

- Here until 11pm on main move day and still not completed

- completely under estimated job

- had to call the police as they held our goods "hostage"

- wanted payment before job complete

- Management extremely unprofessional shouting and swearing on the phone

- promised repayment for damages and compensation - now ignoring emails

- having to take legal action to reclaim costs due to their lack of response

- Would give zero rating if it was possible

Don't use them

Looked promising to start, good communication ,a few free boxes and a home visit.

move day - horrendous. 3 hrs late, wrong van which was too small so had to do 2 trips, good job it was only 3 miles! only 2 guys for a full 3 storey house so we had to help to get it done. Broke expensive furniture. Still waiting on compensation 8 weeks later

Full house removal

Went from featherstone to Bridlington around 70 miles. Turned up on time. Very careful and excellent packing of our stuff. Unloading was simple and easy, everything put in the room we wanted. No damages no messing about. Very good lads who came and did the job. No moaning even with a late finish. Would recommend ?
