Sat seemed very confident when he did the quote and assured us everything would be fine. One of the three who came to pack the first load was capable and conscientious. Things started going pear-shaped when they took our overnight bags, although these were clearly labelled to be left. On moving day they simply didn't show and we didn't get any response until 5 pm. They reluctantly agreed to send a van next day, but it was too small for what was left and we even had to help them load. We'd labelled up where things were to go, but they just dumped them as fast as they could. We're still looking for some things. Sat wouldn't take any responsibility - his attitude was that these things happen. If you do use them, get an itemised bill in writing and T&Cs in advance (Sat bumped the price up at the last minute.).

Helping my 86-year-old father organise his move from a downsized 3-bed house to a 1-bed flat I received a number of quotes all within the £400 to £500 range. [NAME EDIT] of Royal Removals contacted me and offered to perform a survey which he did and we agreed on the price of £650. All very friendly at this stage. On the day of the move I arrived at the house. The crew arrived shortly after 9.00, as agreed, led by [NAME EDIT]'s brother. While there was certainly more packing to be done by the crew they were nevertheless loaded by 11:30. There was a delay of a few hours as we didn’t receive our buyer’s funds until 2:00pm which, in turn, meant we weren’t able to get the keys to our property until 4:00 pm. [NAME EDIT]’s brother said the additional work would result in a price increase to £850 but there would be ‘additional charges’ on top. Driving to the new flat I received an email. At first it looked like the new price was £1,150. I phoned them and said that was a bit steep, could we agree on £1,000 (so an extra £150). I was then told I had made a mistake – they wanted an ADDITIONAL £1,150. There followed a long and protracted discussion which basically boiled down to if my father wanted to see his goods again then he would have to pay up immediately - and in cash. The ‘discussion’ continued at the destination and a token £50 ‘discount’ was offered. My father, at this stage was becoming distressed so I paid them off – just to get rid of them and get my father moved-in, which we did before 5:30pm – so still in a working day. Just to summarise, the price went up from an initial £650 to £1,950 – exactly triple.

My father was ripped-off, and they know it. They [EDIT] and felt they could charge whatever they wanted. Please, please, please do not even think about using these cowboys who use [EDIT] tactics to extort money from the vulnerable.

Avoid! Worst experience!
Ok, should start with the fact that we found quote provided by this company the most appealing and have been promised that the boxes will be delivered before the moving day. As days have passed, no boxes were delivered and few days before the day we were told that it was going to cost additional 45 pounds as we live too far. Well we were tight on time and this was unexpected, had no time to switch to another company, so we had to arrange our own packing, however the boxes were supposed to be available on the day of the move.. except they were not!
On the day the van with two men not wearing uniform (not that important, but just to give you an idea that this is more of a man with a van company, which you can hire for much less than this guys charging),have turned up 30 minutes later than agreed. They did not have appropriate tools to take the bed apart, thankfully we did. No packing has been done by them, they have just moved items, while damaging our brand new leather sofa (claiming then that it was damaged already), none of the items were "carefully covered" as they have promised and the walls all around place were damaged. As we had to pack our things meanwhile not all of this could be supervised.
It only gets better. After loading the van with the big pieces they have said that they were not informed about small items (which they were) and wanted to charge us extra 250 pounds for that. We have rejected, so they have "kindly offered" to move small items which been already packed, and we've thought that they were nice after all. Mistake! they have moved few boxes and couple of items like ironing board and lamp into the van and  than said we have to pay 130 pounds.When we said that we never agreed to pay extra, they got a little aggressive claiming that we have. Ended up paying extra 60.
Oh yes! As they have drove away with our belongings and only few small items leaving us with several unpacked drawers, the what was supposed to be called "moving day" have turned into several as we had to do runs our self.
I've just seen another reviews when people got proper ripped off, sad I have not seen them before, hope my review will save you few bucks and most importantly your time and stress they cause.
If you are timid or have hands full and do not like to be bullied into paying a bomb for a crap service, than avoid at any cost!

Where do I start? Initially appeared to be good. Agreed on a
fair price over the phone. Specified exactly how many items we had. Was sent boxes to pack, good quality.
It all started going wrong on the removal day. 2 hours in we
were told that we would have to pay an extra 50% as apparently we had more
stuff than they were aware of. This is not true as they knew exactly how many
boxes we had as they delivered them to us! The guys doing the work said we had
packed a lot better than most. Rather conveniently they had turned up to the
property with an additional van that they then used! Why, if we only needed one
did they send out two?!
This has happened with other people we know who have used
them. This company is a complete sham. Avoid at all costs.

Was very pleased with the service by Sat and the other guys at Royale Removals. The quote was competitive and we were supplied with as many boxes as requested before moving day.
On the day the movers arrived promptly on time and were not shy in getting started. After packing up the journey North began, we were moving a couple of hundred miles so we arrived well ahead of the van. We moved into a storage unit and this was quickly taken care of. Everything arrived in good condition, the only "damage" being a couple of lampshades bent but this is not a big issue.
This would've been a 5 star review except for the following handful of issues - we had to give the movers tape to use when protecting our televisions as they did not have their own, this wrapping service was said to be included. I had to provide the tools (Allen Key) as they did not have their own and disassemble a table myself, this service was said to be included as well. Our walls were marked as one of the bed pieces was moved down the stairs - we were able to clean this easily, but it was not mentioned by the movers, we had to discover it ourselves. Lastly, it was two different people who loaded and then unloaded with no detailed explanation of this, not a big enough problem for us to worry about at the time, but I believe clearer communication could make the difference in situations like this.
As I said, aside from the above small issues it was a good service for a good price - would recommend.
