Appalling service

I’m not sure if this company is in business, they certainly shouldn’t be! Unscrupulous company who take your money, damage your goods and then refuses to answer the phone. Bailiffs were sent to recover back what they owed us but of course it’s the wrong address/ name associated so they get away with it.

Avoid at all costs

Move from Chester to Biddulph June 2013.

What an excellent removal company! Removal days can be very stressful but Andy and his team made sure that our every need was met and that the move went smoothly. They were efficient, careful and listened to all instruction given. I can highly recommend then and when you compare their quotes to that of 'bigger' removal firms they are by far the better value. We moved 40 miles and had all the furniture that the averaged 3 bed semi with kids has. We had been quoted up to £1500 but Andy did all for £650 without any hitches at all. In fact I suspect that his team work harder that the so called 'big' removal firms. Give them a try you wont be disappointed.

Cowboys.

Absolutely avoid. I gave list of things and asked guy to come out. No, it's ok, based on list. The sheds are full I advised better to come out, but he didn't. Morning of move, arrived with wrong sized vans, Andy a proper stress head. Very rude. Argumentative. Negative. Stating price would rise by double. They didn't wear over shoes, put anything down to protect floors, or use mattress protectors. They damaged a unit. The damaged new house wall by trying to force a chair in. Another guy was sensible. But from the moment of meeting I knew the firm was CRAP. Website depicted vehicles with company name on; turned up with self drive hire. Overall, not impressed, at all. Advised solicitors who said I should deduct the cost of the van I had to hire and fuel from bill, that the company were at fault.

Long-distance move from Chester, Cheshire to Chester, Cheshire

Definitely avoid.

Very helpful initially, two of them came and viewed everything that we were moving, there was nothing they didn't see (we didn't have a loft) and I accepted their quoted price without haggling. They dropped off lots of boxes and packing tape (amusingly trying to accommodate lots of large, albeit flat, boxes in a convertible sports car, and repeatedly telling us that we were using 'a lot of boxes') and assured us that they would take down and wrap the pictures and mirrors properly on the day of the move, and were happy to dismantle larger wardrobes etc. However on the day of the move they rushed the work, generally manhandled everything (eg dragging divan bases around on their corners causing permanent dirty marks) and caused a lot of damage to items that cannot be mended (eg they knocked the feet off an antique mirror and smashed the glass in a frame of our wedding photos). The guy in charge seemed permanently stressed. They clearly didn't want to work late to get the job finished properly and they wouldn't dismantle the wardrobes to take them up the stairs in the new house. We had to go on to the new house to open up, and once we arrived we found that they had left items behind which we had to go back and fetch at 6am the following morning. I tried to contact them about the damaged items but have had no reply. Pretty poor service on the day.

Long-distance move from Chester, Cheshire to Plymouth, Devon

Excellent.

Contacted Mid Cheshire Removals to collect an ex display kitchen for us from Northwich showroom and deliver to us in Cornwall. These guys arrived at the showroom precisely when they said they would and the kitchen was not dismantled and in storage as it was supposed to be. It was up two flights of stairs and to put the kitchen in place originally, the kitchen shop had removed the showroom window and delivered the granite island by forklift truck! Mid Cheshire Removals handled all the negotiations for us to get the kitchen ready for us and advised they would be collecting the following Tuesday. This morning I called them to check in and they were only 65 miles away. The kitchen shop had everything ready last Friday and needed to have it taken away for a new display. Mid Cheshire Removals simply got on with loading on Friday and held the kitchen until they could bring it down to us as planned. Cheerful, smiling chaps and a pain free, excellent service. Highly recommended.

Cant thank you enough for your kindness and hard work.

Andrew & your lads, I just want to thank you so so much for all your kindness and hard work. I didn't just pick your company because you were the cheapest, but you came highly recommended by a couple of people that I know. I was a little bit nervous at first because of a couple of reviews I had read, but I'm really glad that I stuck to my guns and chose mid Cheshire removals. Not only were they excellent value for the money, they were a very friendly group of lads. Honesty was second to none and not 1 single item damaged. The lads turned up early at both ends of the move and I just can't thank you enough. I thought moving home was going to be really stressful but with mid Cheshire removals it all went plain sailing and I would highly recommend them to anybody who's thinking of moving home. Thank you very much. All my love, Jean and family.

Moving was made so easy.

We are really glad we chose mid Cheshire removals to help with our move as all the lads were very friendly and helpful in every possible way. I have never met a nicer and more helpful bunch of lads than I did when mid Cheshire removals turned up. They were all such a hard working and went about their work with such professionalism and care especially the young lad called Alan. What a very nice man. Above all they were the best on the market for the price of our move and they delivered. We were a bit worried at first as they were the cheapest. We got a few quotes for our move and they all came in over our budget so we put all our trust and faith in mid Cheshire. They never let us down, not one bit. We now know for the next time we move if we do that, money isn't the be all and end all. We will definitely be using mid Cheshire removals in future. If anybody would like a recommendation from ourselves please feel free to give us a call on 07967286639. Excellent work, excellent value and excellent choice.

A let down.

The guys arrived on time and quickly got tow work and loaded all of my furniture quickly and without problem  Unfortunately when unloading we found that an expensive mirror had been broken.   Since I have not been able to get have a sensible conversation with Andy Hardman about paying for the loss despite his promise to deal with the issue quickly. It would now seem that the company has been struck off at Companies House. Be warned and proceed with caution.

Do Not Use Under Any Circumstances.

This man is a fraud!  Took deposit and then disappeared.  Luckily I have time to arrange for another removal firm to step in but am also lots of money lighter. If you have any sense at all - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Numerous phone calls and messages later and still not response
If anyone has any suggests as to how I can recover this cost I would be really grateful to hear them - the stress of moving house is enough without this man making things ten times worse.
Please if you value your sanity do not listen to the good reviews below, my guess is that they have not been added by true customers.
The company advertised on the website has been dissolved and this man is operating under a non-limited sole trader company with completely different address and contact details registered on companies house.

Appalling.

Our furniture was picked up on June 29th 2010 and was to arrive in Sydney Australia some six weeks later. On contacting Andy Hardman during this time he lied and eventually did not even answer his phone or emails to us. We eventually spoke to *(Full name removed due to request) a man who works for Mid Cheshire Removals and has shares in the company we were assured that our furniture would be on its way to us by next week but once again he has lied to us and not paid the export company some 6 months later and ..

Update: Non delivery of goods fraudulent
This is an update on my previous review we last had contact with Mid Cheshire Removals in October 2010 since then we have had to pay any additional ..

Really glad we chose mid cheshire removals.

Mid Cheshire removals moved us from Crewe to Stafford and they provided us with a highly professional service. The three removal men who turned up on the day were brilliant and our move went very smooth. There was nothing lost stolen or damaged. The three men arrived on time and completed the move in very good time. The price was competitive compared to other quotes we received. We would highly recommend them and will certainly use them again. Thank you very much for a great job yesterday. Andy.

Poor Experience - stick with the professionals.

Very poor service. 'Talk the talk' but don't deliver.
At the last minute our job was subcontracted, which we accepted sometimes happens. However when subcontracting the job the owner told the subcontractor that it was a two bed house with no garage or garden. It was a three bedroom detached house with a garage full and lots to move from the garden - the subcontractor turned up with one van and one helper, not what you need on moving day.
We had to rent an additional transit van and pretty much act as removal people. Our dryer was also damaged in the process of the move.
We spoke to the owner of the company three days after moving who said that he would refund us £150 to compensate us and that a 'cheque was in the post'. This check hasn't arrived, nor do we expect it to despite chasing numerous times and threatening legal action.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone and would advise to use a big company like pickfords or Johhnsons. Unfortunately supporting local businesses on this one wasn't worth the stress and cost.

Complete cowboys.

Smooth pleasent move.

Upon contacting Andy Hardman for a removal quote, which was the best price about. On moving day the guys arrived ontime, provided me with extra wrapping film to secure the breakables, As I was heavily pregnant, I just told them what to take and they did so. At the new house everything was put into the rooms I wanted them into and no breakages either. My expereince with this company was nothing under 5 stars, pleasent and smooth move which we all know is a stressfull time, so thanks guys.

Poor service, unprofessional attitude.

Points: Our stuff was moved
- points: Packing materials 'included' in our quite consisted of a single roll of bubble wrap and 6 cardboard boxes, all of which were bought at our local Post Office. We had to buy our own packing materials from Staples in the end. Despite being assured that 'I only use my own guys' our move was subcontracted at the last minute using some guys who may as well have been picked up off the street. The moving van was tiny and had to do 3 trips! The guys piled all our belongings onto the drive then drove off to the new address. Thank god we had extra family members present on the day to ensure our stuff was safe. Thank god it didn't rain.   Damage to sofa, door frames, bed head, scratches in floors, broken cupboard hinges .. the list was extensive Gave us a receipt for half of what we paid. And of course, we were 'encouraged' to pay in cash.  .

Excellent Company - Did what they said they would do !

I contacted this company along with several other companies to provide a quote for our move 2 weeks ago. Of all the companies that we had come around to give us a quote I found Mid Cheshire Removals to be honest and with no hidden costs, they provided one price and that never altered. Other companies had extra costs such as the wrap, tape, boxes etc. I found the other companies a little unhelpful and not very informative of the process. They dropped off the wrapping consumables and kept in contact with us throughout the process. I have to admit I was concerned about bringing in a company for the sake of things getting damaged or broken. Mid Cheshire Removals turned up first thing on the day as promised and got stuck straight in. They had everything in the van loaded by 10.30am and we were on our way. We arrived at the new house and unfortunately the previous owners left it in a terrible state. These guys were angels to me on the day they unloaded and put everything in the right rooms whilst I tried to make the place liveable for my family. They built my flatpack wardrobe, helped me brush floors and I could not have done it without there help. My mum said if it had not been for them I would have been in tears in a heap at the state the house was left for us. It is people that leave a house in this condition that should have bad reviews written up about them not companies such as this who I can only say helped me and earned more than what we paid for that day. I found them to be helpful, professional, prompt and more than capable of doing the job. I had read the reviews previously however I feel each persons experience is different and mine was perfect thanks to these guys. People that curse and write such awful things are usually the type of people that behave in that manner all the time.
We paid our deposit to secure and the remainder upon completion so I find it hard to see how others say they have been ripped off as unless you have not paid your furniture would be delivered as requested. You would not pay the remainder if you were so unhappy so I would take it with a pinch of salt.
Thank you Mid Cheshire Removals.

Long-distance move from Manchester, Greater Manchester to Plymouth, Devon

So Far So Good.

Using the service to move us from Cheshire to Somerset we are now half way through.  Move to the rented house went ahead by a hard working team who made up for a delayed start.  When the second half of the move takes place bringing the rest of our furniture, from store, the move will be complete.  If it is as good as first half then we we will be happy for what we consider a very competetive price.

Splendid removal these are the professionals.

Upon contacting mid Cheshire removals, they came on to our property in advance to give me and my wife a quote. We had been given their number by our friends who had used them twice before. I can only tell people to get a quote. You wont be disappointed with the price or certainly the service. The lads work hard and can't help you enough. As we haven't moved for 14 years you forget how hard and stressful moving is. All I can say is give them a call and see for yourself. Again thanks for your help.

Couldn't have asked for more!

We moved at short notice so I struggled a little to get a removal company. I rang Andy who came the same day to give me a price and drop off boxes, bubble wrap and tape. The three men turned up on the day as promised. I have never seen three men work so hard! They saved me so much time as they did not require drawers to be emptied - they just carried them full! Paul, John & Chris emptied our old home in just over 3 hours and filled our new home in just over 2 hours - I would recommend them to anyone.

Absolute Shambles..Avoid at all costs.

I made the great mistake of thinking I could use this local company to move house in the summer. All I can say is, if you want to add to the stress of your move, this is the company for you. Mr. Hardman has all the sales 'patter', but did not come up with anything he promised. Sadly, I think he actually does know how to do the job properly, up to a point, but is so lacking in organizational & management skills, it all inevitably goes pear shaped. I'm very surprised to see on this website the good reviews, I don't know how those were achieved, but they are very far from my experience, unfortunately.. We were actually lucky we managed to move all our things in the end, as not enough transport had been allowed for (despite the fact that Mr. Hardman had been to the house previously & had a good look round at how much there was to move & written down all the relevant information. On the day, he appeared to have no paperwork at all. We had to insist that they came back the day following the move, to clear the garage, which had a substantial amount of stuff in it & had not been touched. We paid for packing, but they only did half a job & on the day appeared to have very few boxes & ended up using large laundry bags that I had bought myself to put fabric, etc. In.. Yes, they even piled all our books into laundry bags!!..(you don't need to be a 'professional' to realize that this is not a very good idea, unless you don't mind your books being ruined). Fortunately we noticed this prior to moving & had to re pack them all ourselves into boxes (which we supplied ourselves of course). In all, the move took us 4 days! It should have been 2. We had to go back on the 4th day ourselves & pack & remove things that were left behind by these people. Fortunately for us there was no one waiting to move into the house we left, or we would really have been in an even worse fix. I could go on & on about all the things that happened..It was a truly awful experience & I only 'got through it' because of my sheer determination to get my stuff moved & not let these people totally get me down. It has taken me months to be able to face writing this though & during those months I have become even more angry that I paid good money to this man for dreadful service. I have a ruined writing bureau amongst the 'casualties' of this farcical move, which Mr Hardman himself is responsible for. The stress we endured due to it all has been appalling. I have at times thought 'what made me take this chap on'. The reason was that Andrew Hardman comes over as a very pleasant, personable & sincere young man & sadly, I believed him to be so. He also spent considerable time when visiting looking around, asking relevant questions & taking down information. He appeared to know what he was doing. The signs were good, what happened afterwards was not. He has some pleasant & hard working men working for him. Unfortunately some, although well meaning, were less than professional & had no clue how to pack things properly. They also appeared to have been told very little relevant information about the move & as Mr Hardman had left them to it & no one seemed able to contact him on moving day, this was a problem. If you happen to read this, Andrew Hardman, & I hope that you do, I would just like to remind you of a couple of things you said to me whilst you were in my house: 'don't worry, I will not let you down' & 'what goes around comes around'. Pay particular attention to the latter, as indeed it does & will eventually, have no doubt about that.
As for anyone reading this, my advice is, don't risk taking on Mr Andrew Hardman & crew, if you value your sanity & your possessions. Ignore the good reviews, it would not surprise me at all now to find out that they were 'fake' & written by his friends. I would believe anything of this person now, sadly not only has he proved himself incompetent, but he is also a liar..& I don't say that lightly. He is not to be trusted. If you do take them on board, make sure you don't fall for the 'please could you do me a massive favor & pay me the whole sum up front' line, (initially you are told it will be half the amount prior to the move & the other half when the job's done to your satisfaction). If there's a problem, there'll be no chance of getting any money back afterwards, you can be quite sure of that. Good old Andy will be 'unavailable'. Anyone wishing to contact me re this review is more than welcome.

EXCELLENT COMPANY, HARD WORKING, CONSCIENIOUS, PROFESSIONAL TEAM - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Mid Cheshire Removals provided everything I could have asked for from a removal company at what is a stressful time in moving house. They were good value for money, they arrived early and took great care of my belongings and my house in the process of helping me to move out. The team were very professional, courteous and communicated with me throughout the removal process to ensure that everything was done to my entire satisfaction. I will only use this company for any future removals that I need, highly recommended - EASILY A 5 STAR REVIEW.

Saved the day.

I am a bit perflexed by the reviews below. Altough they seem to be written in a very similar fashion, on the same day..

Beside, I wanted to write a review as a way to thank Andy for very good service provided this weekend. Attended on very short notice and accommodated me on my move, Lostock to Davenham (not Manchester), after my initial removal company let me down. I would recommend and will be using again.
