MD Removals

I regret booking this company who demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism.  Furniture was damaged in the move and when questioned they stated that it was like that when they collected it.  It clearly couldn't have been because the leg was broken off a coffee table and that is something that I think we would have noticed!  They also stated (& it was included in the quote) that a large wardrobe would be dismantled and reassembled in our new home.  They refused to reassemble.  I had specifically checked that this would be done before booking the job and was reassured in three separate emails.  This mattered considerably to my husband and I as we are both heading towards 60 years old and both suffer physical disability. The attitude of the workers and the company as a whole was the most disappointing. One of the (very) young men who moved our property was extremely challenging to the point of being aggressive.  Further to this, I have emailed my complaints several times since the move a month ago and have not received any response.   I would strongly advise against using this company.

Service cost: £500

They arrived late to collect items! When they eventually turned up at delivery address I was told it would cost an extra £50 on top of the quote or items would be taken to storage.

I was threatened with "Im from the ghetto and know people" and "Remember, I know where you live" How is that professioonal? It's ilegal.

My personal character was also attacked..worst "company" I have had the mis-pleasure of working with. They mske othe small companies unstrustworthy. I personsolly will be using the large chains in future.

We used MD removals for a short move but required help with lifting and a difficult settee which we knew would need some dismantling.

Good things..
The two guys arrived on time, were efficient and friendly and basically got the job done.

No so good things..
It was a rainy day and although they put blankets down at the destination house they didn't suggest that for the start house and so we ended up with a very muddy stair carpet we had to get cleaned.

Their knowledge of how to dismantle a settee was not good. At one stage they suggested taking out a 1st floor window to get it through. I finally part dismantled it and they "persuaded" down the stairs scuffing the walls as they went.

Overall satisfactory for the comparatively small amount we paid and we would probably use them again now we know what preventive measure we can take to make things run a little more smoothly.

We went through a selection process and hired M D Removals, who conducted themselves professionally in visiting us (Lydia) providing quotes on time, clearly explaining the three levels of service they provide. Once we selected a service, they provided boxes, etc, to help us pack. They forgot to provide paper/bubble wrap, to pack fragile items but were apologetic and rectified situation later. On Moving day, the crew led by one young man whose name I can't recall, did a good job overall, as we had a full house including a Piano to move. They should have used floor protectors on their own, to ensure carpets were not stained. When we asked they put some of their blankets, but then one of the workers kept cribbing that he might trip over, so we removed the blankets anyway. They had one person to assemble our bed and TV, who did a pretty good job. They got more help once they knew the extent of the work and overall managed the entire process smoothly and well on time. I would recommend them.
