      6/3022-7/1/22

We moved from Coon Rapids, MN to Wentzville, MO. The process started on 6/30/22 with packing and partial loading of the AAA Movers/Arpin Van Lines truck. Loading was completed on 7/2/22 and the truck headed out before noon. The reason for this claim is the condition of our furniture and personal items after the move. A wood file cabinet was damaged beyond repair, a pine cone Christmas tree stored upright was turned on end and two 16 pound bowling balls tossed in for good measure. The binding of our wedding album was crushed. Various kitchen items missing include a stainless steel stock pot and 3 cookie sheets. We have 2 LCD television sets, both carefully packed in the original containers along with one streaming box, packed in original carton and enclosed in the smaller of the 2 displays. That display was removed from the original carton and both remote controls were missing. A half dozen current Trains magazines are also missing. The cost for all this was quoted at $13,302.03. After we agreed, it was changed to $15,062.04. The original quote specified Full Replacement Value Protection, zero deductible. The higher quote Arpin 7055-0297 somehow did not include this spec. Unbelievable.

I purchased the full amount of insurance available. Good thing, because they didn't prep my washing machine, so of course it didn't function upon delivery. Though I have a document signed by the delivery driver stating that it was not properly prepared, these people had the audacity to send a letter saying my claim was denied because there was no evidence of mishandling or damage on transit..

Long story short, no matter how much insurance you purchase or how much evidence you have that they are at fault, they will send you an offensively small check because it will cost you an additional $300 to dispute it with an external organization.

      Arpin.

If you cherish your belongings and don't want to get scolded for not having certain things disassembled after you were told by the estimator, "our movers will disassemble-This is included in the estimate"- pass on this company. I was also told I should have used another destination to have my furniture stored because this one was too far.. or should I say scolded once again. Help seemed to be hired on the spot for unloading. The worst part of this misery was the crew dented my brand new aluminum door in three places without even bringing it to my attention.. just a little surprise for the family that purchased my house. To top this off there wasn't even an apology. Of course this didn't surprise me after my biggest scolding, for not having my wifes treadmill taken apart which I wasn't told I should do by the estimator. I called the companies office and reported the dented door and was told I would receive a call. Guess what? I never received one. Also I must report the broken legs off my couch and the dents and scrapes on my brand new $900.00 dresser! I learned my lesson.

      Arpin - Do not trust.

Arping moved us cross country. It was filled with issues from the beginning. From Driver to missing items to lack of accountability.

      1. Driver said he didn't trust the people he hired but reassured that he will oversee everything and ensure our move will be seamless.

      2. Items were not properly inventoried, driver informed us he didn't have time to do everything and properly inventory.

      3. Result: Didn't realize it until unpacking that a number of items were missing, mirror, two tv wall stands, other valuable items.

Response from corporate Arpin incredibly disappointing. In short, they shrugged their shoulders and stated we had no recourse. They cannot be trusted.

Arpin Van Line Subsidiaries are Awful! Beware!

Arpin Van Lines nor any of its subsidiaries contacted me until six days before the packout date, despite my having booked them two months out. Then within those six days had two (Park United and Western Express Forwarding)of the subsidiaries of the same company (Arpin) contact me to conduct move surveys. Neither knew which was supposed to have my contract. I conducted a video survey with Western Express. We then found out from Arpin that they did not have my contract, that Park United did. After multiple phone calls and emails to Arpin, Park United called the evening before my packout to conduct a phone move survey, which was a separate debacle.  From this point until the delivery was scheduled I had terrific contact through Kenny Jimenez. The packers showed up late both days, however did a fantastic job packing and were extremely courteous. The moving/loading crew showed up ontime initially without any contact before the morning of. However, contrary to my advisement to the packing team and Mr. Jimenez, the loading truck/crew showed up with an 18-wheeler, which could not fit down my street. After three hours they obtained a Uhaul to move my HHG from my house to the moving van.…

      Damaged furniture.

We had a terrible experience with our move from NY to NC. We had several items of furniture damaged, garment boxes crushed. They never delivered our 3 drawer file cabinet, which contained very important documents. When we realized it (about 2 hrs. after they left) that they didn't deliver it we called and they had to drive back 150 miles to deliver it. And when they did, they came back with our outdoor furniture umbrella base also. About 2 wks. later I went to use my 6' ladder to find out they never delivered it. We called, and they had to have it redelivered on another delivery. We hired Charles Wood and Sons, who I assume Arpin contracts them out. When we had a sales person from the company come to give us an estimate, he assured us that they use only their own people and don't hire out. Well when they showed up to do our move in NY two of the workers had on "Lopez Moving Company" t-shirts on. Clearly not Arpin employees. And when they unloaded us in NC they had two people from Charlotte NC which is about 40 miles from us. Clearly not Arpin employees. So I would stay away from this company. "Do not hire".

      Still waiting.

This is the biggest joke. Arpin was contracted to move my family to our next duty station. The week before our scheduled pack out, 2-3 June, we received confirmation that everything was good to go. Yet, on 2 June, we were informed that no packers were actually scheduled. They tried to reschedule for the 5th, which was our last day of our lease. After explaining that we had to clear our house on the 5th, they again attempted to reschedule for the 5th. The base transportation office had to find another company to pack up our entire house and pick up our hhg in one day (4 June). We rushed to our new duty station so that we would have a place by the delivery date 16 june).

It is now 17 June, and our things are still sitting in Kentucky. I was told today to not expect our goods before the 24th.

We have two small children with health issues, an empty house, a suitcase, and no idea when to expect our stuff. Thank you Arpin, for making this the worst moving experience in my 17 years of military service. Please stop taking contracts that you are incapable of fulfilling.

      Worst Experience Possible.

I signed a contract and had all my belongings picked up from Tampa, FL on 6/17/13 for delivery to Chantilly, VA by 7/5 absolute latest (this is all in writing). I called Arpin on 7/3 to see if they were on schedule - I was told my things had been bumped from the truck due to weight requirements. My dad called, asked to speak to a manager,  and was told there was no manager and was given a different story that the truck from Tampa had broken down. I was then told my things would be delivered on 7/9 and Danielle said the driver would call me - I waited at my house ALL DAY and finally called at 3pm to inquire about delivery and was told that the truck hadn't even left Tampa! And no one called or emailed! I was then, again told on 7/10 that the truck was "leaving the warehouse" and that Danielle in Clearwater, FL was "watching it leave". It's now 7/13 and I'm being told they can't guarantee anything and "maybe your things will be delivered by 7/18." I have called the corporate offices who said they would call the office in Tampa and nothing has happened! This lack of communication and customer service is absolutely unacceptable! This is the worst experience I have ever had with a…

Do not use this Mover - slight savings are not worth it.

Everything started out okay, but soon went downhill the day the actual truck driver arrived. He was late, grumpy and was not happy with Arpin or Savon the sales represenative. There is obviosuly a lack of communication between Arpin, the Driver and the Sales represenatives they use. The driver refused to pack a few large items incouding the big screen TV. I had to go back and forth with Savon and in the end the packing guys saw my frustration and did it depsite the driver. At the end of the packing, the driver proceeds to extort me because he is not happy with the price Savon quoted. He makes e sign a bill of lading that includes additional charges based on weight and number of items even though I show him the fixed quote from savon. The driver continues to tell me he does not want to go to Colorado now and wants to pick up other loads. In the end, we had to wait 10 full days becuase they decided to drop off other loads. My wife, Myself and our kids were in a empty house for days and days. The grumpy driver finally arrived and began his normal bad attitude and telling me I should have shoveled some snow on the driveway. I had spent days confirming with Arpin and savon that I…

      Horrible!

I will never use this company again and I will make sure to warn every military family I know to avoid this company at all costs. My husband and I just completed our first military move and we were assigned Arpin Van Lines to complete our move. The man who was contracted out through Arpin was the rudest, most condescending man I have ever met. I wouldn't trust this guy to ship my trash can.He came to the origin pick-up unprepared and completely unable to find the place. My mom was the point of contact at the pick-up site and the mover was very unprofessional and rude to her. There were two men moving that day and one of them had apparently worked the night before and he was completely useless. My mom ended up having to pack boxes and help them do their job. When our delivery was scheduled, the mover called that morning (unprepared again) and argued with my husband about whether or not our street address was a "Road" or "Drive." when we explained to him that as far as we knew it was "Road," he still argued that he couldn't find it. My husband then suggested that he could try "Drive" in his GPS and see if that will work. Instead of trying that he continued to argue with my husband.…

      Move.

We hired this company to do a move from the Albany area to Florida for our daughter.  The pickup was very professional and they made a detailed checklist of her items, which was supposed to be reviewed when her items were delivered for accuracy.   It took 3 weeks for her items to come and when the driver arrived he was drunk, verbally abusive, intimidating and many of her items were extensively damaged.   They demanded payment up front knowing items were damaged and intimidated her into signing the paperwork before she saw that her items were damaged. When she went outside after they arrived and they opened the truck her items were tossed all around in the truck.  They were not properly secured.  She then witnessed them throw some of her items from their truck.  She was paying in cash and they were refusing to give her a receipt.  They never provided the checklist of her items they promised to ensure that all of her boxes were delivered.  She is a young girl and was extremely scared and upset. They then refused to leave the apartment and tried to intimidate her further.  She ended up having to call the police on the driver!  We definitely do not recommend this company!  This was…

The Worst Moving Company in The Business.

I have been a military spouse for 20 years. I have moved all over the world and have very realistc expectations when it comes to a move. Arpin Van lines is by far the worst company that we have ever dealt with and that's saying something!!  It was a horrific experience from beginning to end. Things were stolen, damaged, and they had a flagrant disregard for upholding their end of the agreement. The packers were unprepared and didn't not bring enough help so they went and got some local friends to help pack. They kept asking us if we were taking certain things with us and if we weren't, if they could have the item. We caught them going through our prescription medications and private documents ( they quickly stopped as soon as I entered the room). The driver had a huge temper tantrum and used all kinds of obscenities in the hearing of my children and neighbors. The packers left their drinks and cigarette butts all over the house, garage, and yard. They showed up for delivery 5 days earlier than discussed. We jumped through hoops to accommodate their schedule including moving up the closing date of our home and rearranging our travel plans which cost us an extra 280.00.  They…
