We asked several removal companies to quote. Andrew Porter was by far the most professional in their assessment of a difficult move and their online videos on self packing were so helpful.
My wife is recovering from a stroke and we were hoping the move would not be too stressful. Thanks to the organised team who were so helpful and considerate of our concerns the move went very smoothly and they even had our furniture etc set up in our new home before we got there!
We have moved 7 times to different parts of the North and this was by far the least stressful of them all.

Excellent service from everyone at Andrew Porter. Everyone was extremely helpful, from Elaine and Kim in the office, Paul the assessor and Ludovic, Aarron and Les who arrived punctually on my moving day. Elaine said they would arrive between 9 and 9.30 and they were there at 9.05. They were incredibly efficient at loading the van and then had to tackle the M6 and the roadworks on a Friday (never a good day for that part of the motorway). They arrived before we did in the car. Just as quick to unload. Everything left in the correct rooms and bed and wardrobe reassembled quickly. In fact everything was finished by 3pm which I find incredible. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you so much to everyone !!

Very efficient and good-natured service. More boxes than estimated were needed and more staff were also drafted in but this was quickly dealt with. Removers worked very hard and were extremely helpful, responding well to all our concerns and requests. Packing service was excellent. (Paul and Joe).
I should have checked in advance where the van needed to park then I could have alerted the neighbours appropriately - I had assumed they would park by the side of the house. It would be useful if this could be clarified earlier with customers.
A more appropriate piano "cradle" is needed than the trolley which was used for ours to avoid lifting pianos manually.
I would definitely recommend Andrew Porter to others and use them again.

The removal men that did the packing and removal to storage where excellent, but the team that delivered our goods where rude and discorteous. They also refused to unload the van due to what they said was inadequate access. They demanded we pay an extra £900 to unload via a smaller van. We later had to take them to the small claims court to get this money refunded which they have now done. Check very carefully before you use any company about access to your property. Also this company is not registered with the Office of Fair Trade and  the British Association of Removers. Ask yourself why?

We received exceptionally poor service from Andrew Porter. On the first day of the move the packers arrived late due to a dentist appointment. On the second two members of the team arrived late again and the removal van supplied already had two containers inside which meant that driver had to return to Kendal to offload. At the end of the second day several items were left in our old house requiring three further car journeys by to remove all our possessions. Many items that should have been have been moved into the house were dumped in a barn. This barn was not weather proof. The foreman stated that two men would return the next day to complete the work and move items into the house.They did not arrive. Andrew Porter agreed that they had not completed the move satisfactorily and that a further day should have been allowed.  They offered to supply two men four days later which was not acceptable because furniture was stored in a non weather proof barn and my wife and I were not available. We had to hire additional men to move our possessions before they were damaged.  We requested payment of £200 for this addtional work from Andrew Porter but after one month of requests for updates we have received nothing. I strongly recommend that you do not use this company.

The service was excellent and made our house move a lot less stressful. The team, particularly Steve and Paul Burke, were friendly, courteous, calm and extremely helpful. They were joined later by more team members whose names I wish I could remember because they were brilliant too!
Steve and Paul wrapped and boxed all the breakable items and wall paintings, which reduced the work load and the stress. I can definitely recommend using the packing service.
We moved to a smaller house so I was worried that it might be a bit too chaotic fitting everything in. However it was all very efficient. The furniture was placed exactly where I wanted, the beds re-assembled, the boxes neatly stacked.
I really liked the team that moved us. Steve, who packed up with Paul and stayed throughout the whole process, was a star.

Wow new level of poor service! Been trying to contact these people via email for 2 weeks to try to give them some business. Seems the contact given is on hols, no out of office and no one monitoring customer enquiries on the website! Ring up and told I can't get an estimate for 2 weeks because I can't do 8.30am, err yes I work to pay for houses to employ removal firms.
As Head of Customer Services for a large organisation I am amazed how businesses don't seem keen on making a profit. If you'd ever like me to develop a strategy for you that will contribute to your profit margin do let me know. In the meantime I'd at least research 'customer nominal value' a concept you may find useful in the future.

On the first day two extremely helpful and professional employees carried and safely loaded a full large truck. During the time with us they carried out there work in a courteous, pleasant and very efficient manner. On the second day two more employees arrived to remove all of our outdoor furniture in just the same manner as the previous day. Upon our arrival at our new property five employees were unloading all of our furniture in a very efficient manner. Nothing was damaged during this whole process,and I have no hesitation in recommending them to families looking for a professional storage and removal company.
